This pharmacy is our local drug store and they are amazing people. So kind hearted they have everything you need and if they don't they can get it next day!! Ok Yelpers...stop the negative reviews! Oakdale is now under new management. Rich the pharmacist has retired and now we have a new pharmacist who is amazing. Oakdale is our pharmacy in my building in Encino. I am a plastic surgeon in the medical building. Can't say enough good things about the pharmacy. The older man working there was the absolute rudest person I ever met. I've never been there before, but it was located conveniently in our doctor's building. I entered saying "Hi there!" -- he completely ignored me for about two minutes. No "just a minute please" or anything, just ignored me. Then he got up and asked what I needed I said "Hi there. My son's doctor just called in a prescription for ____ (name)." He rudely said " Your doctor didn't call it in. He sent it in." My god, then proceeded to ask me questions in a rude manner while making zero eye contact the entire time. Upon payment I handed him my credit card and he literally slammed it down on the counter (for no reason!) before processing. Either he has a huge stick up his butt or someone peed in his Cheerios. Either way, I will never give my money to this place ever again and happy to write this review. read more

Two stars only because they carry a med other pharmacies do not. Came here Thursday morning at 8:30. Waited and waited. Waited 15 minutes. It's now 8:45. Nobody in sight. Waited in my car until 8:55. Nobody. Had my young daughter in the car who just had surgery and needed her meds. Had to pay for parking for no reason and then had to drive back and waste another 40 minutes of my day. The girl at the counter was so sweet but not sure how she can work for such a rude, condescending, miserable old man (The pharmacist). I was there with 2 year old daughter waiting for anti-biotics and she was walking around just looking and he told us to go to the corner where there were some dirty toys she can play with to keep her from not walking around. She wasn't even touching anything!! I came in again at another time and saw that his prices were so expensive (3 times more than anywhere else), which is a complete rip-off. I will NEVER walk into this place again!!! People on the street are nicer than him. He looks miserable and so unpleasant. read more

GOOD: If you are coming here for a quick RX, they are fast and convenient. NOT SO GOOD: If you want any level of customer service or to be treated with an inkling of respect, you are in the wrong place.The older male pharmacist/owner may be the meanest, most passive aggressive, angry person I have ever encountered. He kind of reminded me of Dr. Hartman (Dermatologist) in the building, so he had my automatic respect...Holy cow, was I in for the shock of my life. How does this place not have any reviews yet? I am blown away by the fantastic customer service. Despite the fact they are super busy, they go out of their way to not only accommodate you, but to make sure they follow up. So, we were at the pediatrician's office the other day when we got the unfortunate news that my little boy had an ear infection. We head downstairs to this pharmacy and when we got there, I realized that I didn't have my insurance card on me (idiot!). Anyhow, they were super busy but, despite that, the technician took the time to call Walgreens for me to get my insurance info. They filled our prescription and off we went. Here's where I was really impressed. Two days after our visit, they called me to see how my son was doing...not my doctor, the pharmacy! Great service guys! Thanks for your help! read more

The pharmacy is exceptionally clean, well stocked and convenient. The pharmacist (Rich i believe) was very helpful during a recent visit. He is very knowledgeable but not very personable. We all have our strengths. With that said, Id hire to complement my weaknesses. The female at the front (with short blond hair) come across very cold. She is extremely condescending and does not come across as having the best work ethic. I've only been 3 times in the past 6 months. This was our experience. read more

Rich has always been a good Phatmacy for me.He Is well informed and goes out of his way to help me. I trust him. He sometimes brings his chocolate lab with him to work. Rich consistently goes the extra mile to answer questions, make sure everything is right, provide excellent customer service, and create a friendly environment. That's been my experience, and I've seen him do the same for many other customers whenever I'm in town and need something. MAJOR RIPOFF! Charged us $24.00 for an over the counter cough syrup that retails elsewhere for $13.00.

I was a customer here for four years. There were quite a few times where I witnessed Rich (the owner/pharmacist) demean his employee in front of customers. I overlooked it thinking he was just trying to keep a tight reign on lax procedures. But as time went by I noticed that he's just rude to people period. But I stuck with his business as it was conveniently located to my child's Doctor. The last straw came for me, when he started aggressively mansplaining to me for the third time that he doesn't have time to call all his customers when there is an issue with a Dr.'s prescription. This was for my child's meds, who was leaving for camp the next morning. I've only ever smiled, made small talk and given him my business for four years. Btw - this is the first time I've ever used Yelp, that's how rude he is. read more

I called to see if they had certain generic brand of my meds in stock. They said yes and I drove over.I handed the girl who works there with short blond hair, my prescription. I waited for 10 mins before I said that I would come back later to pick up my meds. The girl said, wait you don't know if the pharmacist will fill it or not. I told her that I drove over here because they had my meds in stock, I asked again if they had them? The girl said that the pharmacist has his reasons and would either say yes or no. 20 mins of waiting,the pharmacist said NO and get out. I asked why, he said leave. Then told me that I had been to 2, other pharmacy's in the last couple years. Called me a pharmacy hopper. I then told him to call my doctor or do whatever he needed to verify. At this point there were other customers in the pharmacy and he was yelling at me to leave. He was acting like I was a drug dealer or a coke addict. Disgusting! read more

Absolutely the WORST!!! Older lady with blonde hair extremely rude and unhelpful just has a bad attitude for no reason and just doesn't know what she's doing I have a primary and secondary insurance she says they don't do that very combative ‍ I guess running 2 insurance cards was super hard for her!..Lol how they stay in business is a great mystery to me with the horrid attitude they have I'm sorry you hate your job I don't need to be punished for it! I literally told them never mind I want my prescription back and took it to Ralph's Encino had zero issues with them they know how run two insurance cards at the same time...gasp! read more

I work in medicine so I understand the heavy workload, but the employees of this pharmacy are not handling the stress well. I've picked up my script here 4 times so far and every time I was treated like a moron. Today was the worst. I needed my prescription urgently but couldn't find the time off work before the religious observance, so I asked good friend to do me the favor of picking it up for me. I didn't even tell my friend about the experience I had with Oakdale but shortly after he arrived he texted me about how rude the pharmacist was to him. I'm very embarrassed that I asked a friend to do me this great favor, and agreeing to it out of the kindness of his heart, only to be treated so unfairly at the end. read more

I love this pharmacy - I used them occasionally because they were next to my son's pediatrician, but then switched everything over to them because Rich and his staff are incredible! They call to check-in when one of of my family members is taking an antibiotic, and they contact our medical providers quickly when there is an issue with a prescription. Rich has stayed open late for us when we are driving from our Santa Monica doctor at closing time but really need to fill that script. They are smart and efficient and kind -- a real gem of a find! read more

Rich is fantastic at what he does! Oakdale sets the bar when it comes to customer service!!! Not only are Rich , Annie and all staff at Oakdale very informative , patient and so kind.... But they truly know the ins and outs of the pharmaceutical world. Rich is incredibly helpful when it comes to insurance information , all of the medication questions I have , and gets things taken care of incredibly fast , and is always so on the ball. You can always expect a phone call for a follow up , and this is one pharmacy you might truly consider a "good neighbor". I know I do . I've been lucky enough to meet the two family dogs which are also just sweet as can be ! This place is THE WORST. The owner is beyond unpleasant on his best day and the store literally charges two to three times more than any other pharmacy. It should be criminal. I recently tried to buy a bottle of cough syrup for our son after his doctor appt upstairs. The price was $29. I googled it on my phone and Rite Aid has the same bottle for $11.99. Don't know how this place stays in business. read more

I came to this pharmacy as a convenience after taking my disabled brother to his dr appointment in the same building. The doctor had sent in one prescription to be filled and rather than drive to Beverly Hills where his normal pharmacist is, I asked the dr to have it sent here instead. HUGE MISTAKE. Let me just say very honestly, this was the WORST pharmacy I've ever been to. The pharmacist, Richard, truly lives up to his name aka Dick. My brother wasn't feeling well and in a considerable amount of pain, so rather than waiting, I simply asked if I could come back for his prescription when it was ready. You'd think that I asked this guy to fly me to the moon and back or something as he threw a huge tantrum which included slamming a pen down not once, but twice, with such force that it hit me. I was utterly astounded by this man's horrible attitude, service and the indignant way in he which he treated me. It's not like there was even anyone else there and he even told me he had only one prescription to fill before my brothers. Now I understand why this place was more deserted than the morgue. Don't bother wasting your time or money here. This guy is one of the most disrespectful individuals I've ever come in contact with. Rather than take out his personal frustrations on his customers, I would suggest he get some professional help in the form of therapy.. and perhaps also get a scrip for himself for some of those drugs he's slinging. read more
