I don't normally write reviews for bigger stores like this, but I had a wonderful experience today and I had to share. I had purchased a few travel items about 3 weeks ago and not surprisingly I lost the receipt. I walked into the store a couple days ago and realized I didn't have the receipt to return the items so I left. But today I thought I'd try again. The young gentleman at the register was so kind and didn't give me a hard time about not having my receipt. He even explained to me that even though I'm used my rewards number and my credit card that they don't have the ability to look back at past transactions, but he would gladly be able to give me store credit. It was just such a quick and virtually effortless experience. I'm only bummed that this young man who helped me wasn't wearing a name tag so I can't shout him and out give him the props he deserves. But he was young, blonde haired, tall man and he is so sweet!! read more

People who work there are not very friendly and never smile. Pricing and availability of things I buy on a regular basis are so overpriced at CVS. I have started going to Target in Walnut Creek, as I tallied up the same items in one shopping trip from Target and then priced each item at CVS, and I SAVED $30.42 by going to Target! CVS is a RIP OFF for the same items. Everything is at least $2.00-$3.00 higher priced at CVS. I only go to CVS now if I absolutely have to due to time constraints of my daily activities. You guys need to get cracking on being more competitive with your competitors! read more

My husband has a benign brain tumor, no medical, no Medi-cal and is waiting for Medicare. I pay $233 every two months for Levetiracetam 180 pills he takes 1 1/2 in the morning and 1 1/2 at night. In June on the 16th I picked up what I thought were 180 pills and only discovered today that he needed a refill way before 8/16. I spoke with the pharmacy and took the bottle in she said that 180 would not fit in a bottle that size but would not do anything to check [like count her inventory]to see if we were shorted. I refilled the script early spent another $233 and am just sad and frustrated at the whole matter. The script is now up for refill and I am going to move it to Target and never look back or go there again. read more

MinuteClinic Review: Was trying to get a shingles vaccination (Shingrix) which is in short supply so I wanted to call first to see if they had it in stock. There is no way to call an individual store so I called the general MinuteClinic customer service line. Called at 5:00 PM PST and was told the store was closed (actually it should have been open to 9:00 PM PST). Call center must use eastern time. Called the call center back the next morning at 6:00 AM (when the store was closed) and waited 30 min on hold. When someone finally answered they were helpful. Walnut Creek store had 10 does of Shingrix in stock so come on down. Got to the store for 9:00 AM opening time (as provided by customer service center) and the MinuteClinic was not staffed. CVS personnel didn't have any idea if or when the MinuteClinic might open as MinuteClinic is a different company than CVS. Finally saw a small sign saying they would reopen at 9:00 AM THE NEXT MORNING. Needless to say I was not impressed. read more

If I could give a minus 10 I would. This is the absolute worst pharmacy ever. The worst service. Several doctors have days the exact dance thing. No providers in the area like this CVS. They lose, say they never get, lie and never get the actual RX correct. Eight phone calls from provider for RX and they still never got it right. Transferred to another pharmacy. Watch this pharmacy they are not honest or up front. I went to get some Claritin D which they had the cards for out in the isle. Instead of telling me they were out and did not remove the cards they just rung up their generic brand. I caught that there and made them return it. They then sold me the 12 hour instead of 24, I thought if it would not work I would return it. Long story short it didn't work and they would not return. Sad such a large company has these practices. read more

Very poor customer service. Had a terrible experience with the pharmacy mishandling a migraine medication delivery - it was delayed 4 business days and they essentially told me to "go find it myself" as they could only call 2 other stores in the area. I was told they were "too busy" to do any more than that. Not to mention I was leaving on a trip and needed the medication before I was departing. read more

Thier system to call ahead and refill prescriptions is a joke. I tried to refill prescriptions three different times over the phone and each time they never "received" the request. I have to call and speak with someone to get my proscription filled and when i finally was able to place the order for the script they filled it and didn't tell me i didn't have enough pills for a full refill and they put it through my insurance anyway. Now i have to wait till next month to get a full script and pay for my remainder meds since they got a refill order after the fact. read more

I give it a medium rating because the pharmacy is staffed with nice folks who are accommodating, but the evening/early morning check out ladies are rude and snarky. Everyone I go in there they have some comment they must rudely spew on wither myself or the other customers. Otherwise it is a good store, great hours, and convenient location. read more

My husband and I are here all the time to pick up prescriptions. The line is always so long and we're not sure why. We've used CVS's across the country and never had to wait as long as we have had to at this CVS consistently. We don't think it's a timing issue. It is a constant thing. Only on rare occasions do we not have to wait. Many times they do not have my medication and it has to be ordered which means I have to wait 2-3 days if it's a Friday. I think the pharmacy could be better run. Just my opinion. read more

Went in today to the Minute Clinic. No one was waiting and the staff was very nice. I drove from Alameda and it was worth it. I would highly recommend this Minute Clinic for job testing (TB, etc.). The cost is $35.00 for the test & $29.00 for the read after 3 days. read more

I'm giving my review soley on the service I received from the photog dept. The tall, blonde woman who was working was so beyond helpful! I had a question about picture mugs and she didn't know the answer to one of my questions so she walked me through the process step by step and waited for me to load my numerous photos so that she could find out my answer and know the next time someone asked. I was very impressed by the time she took to help me and when I complimented her on it she just said that her work ethic is to be as helpful as possible. She also talked about how fortunate she is to have a job to go to and I was once again very impressed. Not many worker bees out there like her! Myself included sometimes:) read more

Went in for a flu shot. Wait was long despite only one person in front of me. A sign said they took lunch from 2-3 but that apparently meant 3:45. The woman was very nice, and professional, but it's exactly what you'd expect in terms of organization. read more

Today I went in for something completely different, I went in to the minute clinic to inquire about a shot for pneumonia, the gal at the minute clinic told me it's not recomended that I get a pneumonia vaccine, and she also explained why, her name is Diana and she is very helpful, I'm a healthy person, and didn't want to get pneumonia since it had been going around the family. I was reassured not to worry, typically the shot is given to people age 65 years or older, I learned that today. The women at the registrar was also very helpful to. read more

I Moved to WC, have used CVS Alamo for 20 years near. Last week I brought in 2 prescriptions I have used since my work injury in 2014. The pharmacist said she needed to call my doctor before filling. After she called and he confirmed, she informed me she would fill one but not the other. She began to lecture me in line with several customers behind and left of me, I did not want to argue so I asked her to call my doctor, tell him she would not fill one so he would be aware of this. The next day I went back to pick up the one prescription and the same pharmacist now told me should changed her mind and would not fill either, and began to lecture me once again that this drug had habit forming tendencies. I have always tried to support local business, but I will not give CVS another dollar of my business, its not hard to realize why people are moving to Mail Order Pharmacies. read more

My comment here is more for the store, not the pharmacy. I few weeks ago I had a cold. I went to Bancroft CVS for some zinc tablets to speed my recovery. I found some zinc and C gum that was on sale at about $3.00 off the $9.49 price. I bought it, but a couple days later saw I was charge full price, so I stopped by CVS to check signage at shelf. It indeed said price was $3 off for two more weeks. So I went to check outs and spoke to the older woman with the puffed up hair. She was gossiping and I gave her and the other check out lady time to finish a sentence and no customers were in line. I asked her where I should go to have a price adjusted? I was charged the normal price in this sale item. Her response was strange! She said well I don't know. What do you mean you need the price adjusted? So I said I bought this zinc gun a couple days ago, it is posted as being $6.49, but I was charged the $9.49. I just wanted the price corrected. She still played dumb with me like she didn't know how to handle this! She said: I guess you could go to that counter over there. We never had to adjust a price! Plus it was said in a smart ass manner, So I stopped and thought OK, am I really going to engage this idiot, yes I will. So I turned back at her and asked. You never had to adjust a price incorrectly charged to a customer? And she says back to me while glaring. No, I haven't. Not here at this store. So I asked again to pin her in this stupid statement...So there has never been a price incorrectly charged here at this store? Ever? She repeated back to me. No, and I've been here over 20 years. I have never charged a wrong price! I was amazed at this, so since I was the only customer at the front I raised my voice where all 4 employees could hear and I turned more towards the photo counter direction check out, where I assumed a person in charge was now visible, and I said: That's amazing, she says this store has never charged a price incorrectly? Never in its history?? Really? That's simply a miracle in perfect customer service. Like a magical store this is! The other make employee was even shaking his head No! As if agreeing with what she just said! So I said to him as I walked that way, Never? I then was at the photo counter. A blonde woman with that I'm in charge more than the rest look, said reluctantly and frowning what is the problem ? I said I bought this item at 9.49, and it's should be 6.49, just a simple price mix up, and I was hoping to get the correct price. Here is a picture of the item on the shelf. She looked at it very close on my phone hoping to find me wrong in some way, then checked the computer. and then reluctantly agreed that the ad says until 12/31 and then she then looks at my receipt. As she's doing this I asked her. So this store never has made a mistake on a price? Never ever? As the employee over there proudly states? And she too says well no, it's all computerized so it's scanned and the prices are always correct!!!! So how do you explain this I asked? Am I the first one in 60 years here that had a price charged incorrectly? How is it that this store is absolutely perfect until I show up today? She then got a bit defensive and said... It's OK, I'll give you the $3. I said great, that's seems fair don't you think? I'm not asking too much am I, cause it seems like I am from your employees reaction and even yours right now! She then says again firmly ... I'm going to just give you this 3 dollars and she hands be 3 ones. Fine, that's good. She then asked if I want my receipt back. I said no thanks. No need for proof now. The bathroom of this pharmacy is definitely a concern for a safety hazard. It smells as if feces have been manifested and grown for many years. The bathroom has no ventilation so you are just breathing in the toxic fumes that is the accumulation of the fece infested rothole that is the bathroom. You would expect a place where people get their medications to be clean. However this is the exact opposite of such. It is worse than a third world country's bathroom. read more

The Minute Clinic at this location is horrible, very disappointing. This isn't healthcare or anywhere close to it. They turn people away 45 minutes before closing for fear they'd run late. Worst place ever! I only gave it 2 stars because it is close to my home. There are maybe two or three good employees there. the rest are slow, rude, clueless and don't have the first idea of what customer service means. I never leave this store un-annoyed. The customer service at the pharmacy is the best we have ever had. The pharmacy we normally use was out of a medicine that was needed to fill my husbands prescription. They did not let us know when we called it in but waited to tell us when we went to pick it up. My neighbor suggested we call CVS as that's where she goes. It was 15 minutes from the time I called them and they got the prescription from the other pharmacy and called me that it was ready for pickup. When I got there to pickup the prescription they had even looked up all our insurance information. Unbelievable service!! We will now have all our pharmacy needs fulfilled at the CVS at Bancroft and Treat. Five stars!!! read more

I've been going there for several years - since it flipped from Riteaid to CVS - and I think the customer service is very good. the people working the front counter are bright and responsive. the line moves along fairly quick, and they've always offered to spend time and explain new prescriptions. read more

My roommate and I went in with a giftcard and the cashier, Rosa P., was so awful and rude to us. First, she made a rude comment about what we were buying, which was candy and chips for a party we were having (she eyeballed us both, and said 'we're eating healthy tonight'. We are both bigger girls, and there was malicious tone) and then when we went to use the gift card we had, she kept putting the numbers in wrong, and then tried to tell us we couldn't use it, and wouldn't ask for help. *WE* had to call the manager over, who promptly did it correctly. And this isn't the first time she's been rude to us. There was another time that, while I was coming in, she said 'hi welcome', to which I responded with a smile, but I guess she wanted something more than that because she then SHOUTED it again at me. She's so unpleasant and unnecessarily rude. I can't stand it. I'd rather drive further away than deal with that rude person again. I work in customer service as well, and there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of awful service. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

I moved to this cvs about five years ago after the horrible service at Walgreens. I was happy with the service until this year when the lines got really long no matter what time I went. They pretty much stopped answering their phone, too. Last week, I went to pick up a prescription following surgery, and they tried to give me the wrong medicine. They insisted that it was for me. I told them it was not from any of my doctors and that I did not take that medication. As I tried to explain, the tech kept interrupting. When I asked her to let me finish, she said, "Fine then. I will just shut up." I asked to speak to a pharmacist who reacted pretty much the same way. She kept saying it was not cvs' fault as they only fill what is called in. She was telling me that some doctor called in this prescription for me. Long story short, I refused the medication, but when I got home I found a slip for it in my bag. Thing was, that medication was for another person entirely! They were trying to convince me that some random doctor called in a random rx for me when it did not even have my name on it. I called to speak to a pharmacist who said they have had budget cuts and do not have enough staff to hand out the medicine correctly. She said the situation was really bad. Well, that is scary when the pharmacist herself acknowledges a problem like that. They seem to be following the Walgreen's business model. Where to go now? read more

I ran in to pick up a prescription this afternoon - I had to run the ladies room. I walked in and almost vomited. I cannot remember the last time I've been a restroom in such deplorable conditions. I walked out and looked for a manger - when I found him, he was in an aisle having a conversation with someone socially and didn't even pay attention to the fact that I might have been standing there to say something to him. I needed to be someplace, so I stopped by an employee that was stacking stuff on shelves and said, "I just wanted to bring to your attention that the ladies room is a disgusting mess!!" She looked at me said "I'm sorry" and went right back to doing what she was doing. I seriously will consider never going in to this location. As I was preparing to write this review on here, I happened to go through some of the reviews and noticed that just a few weeks ago a gentlemen posted something about the restrooms being terrible - One would think that a few short weeks later, something would have been done - like terminating that manager if he can't manage!!! Not to mention he was literally paged to the pharmacy about 8 times today as someone was waiting to speak to him, that by the way was while he was having a personal conversation and ignoring me!!! GOOD JOB DUDE!!!!! By the way, the person that was waiting for him was an interview - that wonderful manager continued doing what he was doing and gave instructions to the individual how to walk through the store and up a flight of stairs to his office and to wait for him there - why, just why would anyone want to work for such a person???? read more

I don't normally shop at CVS because of their over prices even though I'm a member but today I went looking for Special K protein shakes strawberry flavor. Well I walked in the door the chashier lady said "hello" I said "hi" back but I think she didn't hear me so she like yelled HELLO! I was like??? So I said hi again and she heard me, so as I was walking in this scary looking guy walked in behind me he looked my age.. Well anyways I was looking for the protein shakes in the drink area, breakfast area,and the guy was like fallowing me I was scare I'm not gonna lie so I walked by the medicine section and apparently he wanted to steal something so the lady kicked him out.. I had no success in finding the protein shakes so I started heading towards the exit empty handed then the lady said "TELL YOUR FRIEND NOT TO COME BACK HERE" I was so confuse and replied "HE ISNT MY FRIEND!? I walked out before the lady insulted me more. That worker overall is rude I've seen her before working there.. Parking is very easy and available. Most importantly, I received today for the third time in a row outstanding, gracious service! With a line and some unruly, rude customers behind me, Chris, a young, tall, lanky pharmacist, was so incredibly accommodating, detailed and helpful, it stood out as some of the best service I've had in years. My wife had surgery and I had a pain prescription to be filled before the nerve block wore off. I dropped off the prescription and said I would wait for the medicine. After 30 minutes, I asked were was the prescription. They said that it would be 20+ minutes more. My wife was texting me asking me how soon was I going to be home with the pain pills. I asked why 20+ minutes more and they told me there were 3 prescriptions ahead of mine. Why I asked, as there was no other people waiting for their prescription. I was told that the Pharmacist had entered my prescription to be filled in 1 hour! I completely don't understand why a prescription that someone was waiting for would be entered into their system to be filled in an hour. I personally don't think this is just limited to this CVS store but is a problem with the CVS system, in other words ALL CVS STORES. With all the places to fill your prescription (grocery stores, Walmart, COSTCO, etc.) I would tell you to go there, before you go to a CVS store. read more

I used to think the pharmacy did a good job however recently a new manager who's name i was able to get from another pharmacist (The manager's name is Melanie) has started treating me and other customers horrible. She kept fighting me on my prescription even though its the same medication and dosage I've been taking from the same doctor for 7+ years! I figured it was a one time thing but she's been there every time i tried to get my prescription and says she needs to call my actual Dr and leave them a message and then call me back to pick up my prescription. If another pharmacist is helping me she makes them go over to her even though she's preoccupied just to deny mine and other customers requests. she even lied about faxing my dr who never received a single call or fax from them even though i kept call cvs and going there every day for a week. Eventually i drove all the way out to my Dr who lives quite a bit away from me and had him write me 3 prescriptions all worded differently so she couldn't have any excuse not to fill it. I am never going there again until i know shes been transferred or fired. I've never had horrible service read more

I have been going to this Location for years because it's the closest CVS to my home. There is just this one Cashier that works in the mornings and is always at register 1 and she is never friendly not just to me because I've seen her be rude to customers in front of me also. Today I have had it with her! I found an ATM Debit card on the ground near the Bank of America ATM right outside of the store and thought I would turn it in to CVS since they are open 24 hours instead of the doughnut shop next door and of course the only register that was open was 1 and it was that rude lady there and I told her I found it on the ground outside and she just took it from me and did not even say anything not even a thank you for turning it in. I did go to the doughnut shop and there was one lady that looked like the picture on the atm card so I went back to CVS to ask the cashier if I could just look at the picture on the card because I thought I saw the lady in the doughnut shop and I was not asking for her to give me the card but her reply was " I already turned it in" then she told me just tell her it's here at CVS if it's her and the whole time she just kept ringing up the customer. She made me feel like I was trying to get the card back to keep it myself! If that was the case why the hell would I turn it in!? I was just trying to find the owner so she wouldn't have to worry about her card missing. Well I did go back to the doughnut shop and asked the lady if she lost an BofA debit card and her and the 3 other ladies at the said no and they even thanked me for turning it in to the store and it wasn't even theirs so I did go back to CVS just to let that rude cashier be rude to me again and I told her it was not her and she did not even acknowledge me! The store is very clean and I have no complaints about it but why would you want to have a cashier at the front of the store who is rude and not helpful at all? I've even seen her roll her eyes to elderly people because of not having their cvs card handy or even for just taking long to pay and that is so not cool. I won't stop going to that location. I will only go there if I really have to but I can tell you for sure that I will NEVER go to that cashier again even if she is the only one open! I would rather just leave the store and come back when she is not working. I hope others who experienced having her as their rude cashier would give a review also. read more
