For the most part, I really like shopping at Cycle Gear. They have a decent selection, but I've noticed a lot of their gear runs pretty big, so finding the right size in-store can be tough. Because of that, I usually end up ordering online, and I've had to return a few things in-store once or twice. That said, I had a pretty frustrating experience with one of the employees that really left a bad taste in my mouth. One of the older guys working there was rude and condescending. I had to return a helmet because a different salesperson had incorrectly sized me, and the helmet ended up being too small when the store ordered it online. When I went back to return it and buy the correct size, this guy made a comment like, "You've been here so many times! How many helmets are you going to return? You can't keep doing that!" For the record, this was my first time returning a helmet, and I had only been there a couple of days earlier to try on helmets--I didn't even buy anything then. His tone was so rude and unnecessary, and it just made me feel really unwelcome as a customer. Stuff like this makes me question whether I want to keep shopping here, especially since there are other places with better customer service. read more

When I visited this store yesterday to look at helmets, salesman I spoke with said they don't really carry much below $300 and that you can't get a good helmet in that range. A third of their helmets were below $300, including all of the models of their own in-house brands Sedici and Bilt (and there were many in stock). When I pointed out a Shark helmet (a good quality mid-range brand) in the $200-300 range, salesman responded that he didn't like Shark helmets. As I then checked out helmets on my own, another salesman was talking to a new rider about riding jackets. Salesman did 98% of the talking, bragging about how he started out riding on a "1000cc track bike" and steered the customer away from moderately priced jackets they had in stock. The attitudes of the salesmen here are exactly the reason people avoid motorcycle dealerships and gear retailers, and would rather take a gamble on choosing the right size and fit for riding gear. I'm a regular at the Cycle Gear in Canoga Park and the attitude among the staff there couldn't be more different. read more

Before I even got my motorcycle, I got all of my gear from this cycle gear location and they don't ever fail to provide the best service. It all started with Dan to now 2024 being Raul (assistant general manager). The staff are just very knowledgeable, provide great suggestions, and you can have friendly conversations and story sharing about riding experiences You need anything motorcycle related, go to Raul or John (at the time of this review those are the only two I know, I haven't met all the staff just yet) and ask them for any help and they'll gladly guide you towards your needs and wants! read more

I've been coming here for a number of years and first and foremost. The customer service is phenomenal. You've got everything protective gear wise from entry-level to high-end as well as parts they have available and if they don't have it, they can order it for you and get it. They also do some work there as far as mounting tires, and a few other things. Recently just purchased a new rear tire and had to have them hold it for a day or two days in this case. Nathan helped me out and he was super cool, really nice and made sure it had a note on it so nobody sold it. He kept it for me an extra day when I couldn't make it in and it's a little bit of the extra stuff on his end and the rest of the staff there's end that keeps me going back. For any of ur motorcycle needs come here... we always do!!!... i bought new gloves here they were hurting my knuckles... lost the receipt but they still exchange them... they let me pick up any other one within the same price range. They are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They change the visor of my helmet super quick, they notice my windbreaker thingy the one that goes underneath the chin on the helmet and they put a new one and didn't charge me for it. We have to get out of our way to come here, but it is worth it every single time!!!! They have a huge variety of equipment and gear and helmets ans pretty much everything u need. Went into to the store asking for help in dealing with my bluetooth headset speakers inside my Arai helmet. After a couple months of riding the earphones adjusted inside the helmet causing me discomfort. Within 10 min, the staff took my padding apart, re-secured my earphones with adhesive, and I was back in business. I'm a new rider and bought my first helmet and gloves from the Culver store. I discovered too late that my helmet was on closeout due to a design flaw involving the shield screws which dislodge constantly. Unfortunately for me, by the time I started using the helmet more regularly, the warranty had expired. Since then the Sedici Sistema helmet I bought was replaced by a better design. I received word from their Customer Service department that their Lomita store had the parts I needed. I warily visited the Lomita store and met Anthony. Thirty minutes before closing, Anthony was familiar with my situation and was super welcoming and helpful. He not only installed the replacement shield screws, he shined my helmet too! Because of Anthony I'm not stuck with an expensive plant pot. His enthusiasm and knowledge about motorcycle riding made me feel that I was in the right place. He even made helpful suggestions about gear I can wear to be better seen by motorists during night rides. Anthony's humor and patience restored my trust in CG and I'll definitely be returning to the Lomita store whenever I need gear. read more
