I am a life long Biker and do most of my own wrenching. I'm mostly a Harley guy but I've always had a metric or two in the garage. I would have never known this place existed if I hadn't ordered a tire online and the seller had a note that shipping was free if I did a will call at Cycle Gear. OK... they are just a couple of miles away so why not. So looking at the place I figured it was mostly targeted at relatively new riders who were looking for helmets and other rider gear. And they certainly have racks of that stuff. Talking to one of the guys at the desk I inquired about rotor upgrades and he said, "sure!". Pulled out a catalog and showed me a few choices that would fit my bike. This fellow was clearly more knowledgeable than those guys at a parts store. You know the type. What year, model, engine size, color, blah, blah, blah so that they can figure out what windshield wiper will fit. And inevitably hand you a part that DOESN'T fit. So in chatting I find out they will install tires if you bring in the wheel. Install and balance for a pretty reasonable price. I see that at least one Yelper complained that the store manager would not allow him to watch the process which could be a problem for me. That's my life we're talking about. I do my own work or I watch whoever is doing the work to be sure it's done correctly. If that's going to be a problem for them I will be forced to update this review. But for now, my experience with Cycle Gear has been 100% positive. Great prices. Great staff. Easy to get to. Lots of parking. I haven't looked over their inventory closely but I suspect that most repair and maintenance items will need to be ordered which is usually not a problem for me. I buy pretty much nothing at the dealerships and, in fact, the dealerships usually don't have what I need in stock anyway. So I can buy for less online. Not that it's a big deal for my purposes but Cycle Gear is more geared to sport bike riders and not Harleys. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing most of the gear they have on the rack. No judgments and no minus stars. CG knows their market and their model seems to be working for them. I'm just happy to have a resource to have tires installed and also purchase parts from. Both are very attentive to their customers and do a good job making sure all questions are answered. It's a Cycle Gear. For the uninitiated or uninformed it's a place to buy Motorcycle gear and accessories on the cheap, away from that filthy dealer who hosed you on your scooter purchase or the more tony independent cycle shops who have to upcharge due to low volume sales. What they DO have is a lot of the most commonly used items such as universal turn signals, oil,chains, some filters, levers, helmets and whatnot associated with motorcycles. They even have a modest selection of riding apparel to fit NORMALLY sized people. I, unfortunately am not among those folks but I still find a good deal of things here that are quite usable by motorcyclists of ALL sizes. What they DON'T have is the carburetor inlet for your '69 Greeves. They aren't going to be able to diagnose that snickety,snickety,whoosh, kerplop sound from your top end on your 305 Dream and they FOR SURE are NOT going to have your GF's size polyurethane chaps in 5X. Or YOURS for that matter. Not saying they can't get such items, but you'll have to be patient and actually give them your email address for shipping/tracking and wait a day or two for it rather than throwing the stuff from the rack on the floor because it won't fit. Tires now, that's a whole other deal there. If you can wait the day or two it will take to get them mounted after you bring in your wheels you can get deals there aplenty. The new Avon douche tires I just bought from them cost less after mount and balance than a single rear tire BEFORE mount and balance at Dealer. And this particular Dealer isn't gouging on price,either. So in short, if you have a brain and a motorcycle go here for the things that they DO have like tires,helmets and Bluetooth communicators and NOT the things they don't like OEM parts and outlandish and/or boutique stuff. read more

Do not use. They tell you they can take care ofnyou same say for tire repair amd have you drive 45 minutes to there store wasting gas them tell you they can't take care of you that say amd want you to spend more time amd gas coming back to pick-up a tire that should take them less than an hour to replace. Find a real motorcycle shop. read more

Cycle gear is a great gear store for motorcyclists. Their house brands include Bilt and Sedici. Most of the Bilt brand helmets are also ECE certified. ECE is the European helmet safety rating, which is higher ratings than the USA DOT standard. If you're looking for a helmet for $150 or less, you'll find an ECE rated helmet here. Cycle Gear staff I've found are always friendly, helpful, but not pushy. They usually direct you to the area you're looking for, and let you decide for yourself. Thanks for a great experience today, a closeout full face Bilt helmet, ECE and DOT rated, with internal flipdown tinted eyeshade, for $49.97. Get on their mailing list, you'll get monthly flyers. I purchased pants online on a Monday and they were delivered on Wednesday. Yes, Wednesday! They didn't fit so I conveniently returned them to the store. Because of COVID I had to just hand them to the clerk. I had the email confirmation of the return before I exited the parking lot! The price was less than I found at any other website, and when I called to ask questions they answered right away. Great experience all around. read more

This cycle gear is a complete waste of time. Since I've been a new rider I started going here, and they were cool, but eventually they started not caring about things you would want to be taken care of if you were a customer. I spent 200$ there one time on a chain and chain tool, but the chain came with no master link (for my at the time ninja300 EX) so the employees thought it'd be funny to just give me some random slip link that wouldn't even slip over the chain. I somehow made it work and rode up to the store asked the manager several times please come outside and look at my chain, because I don't think it's right. and the old manager that worked there said "I don't believe you rode that bike up here". (Swear to god that happened). I told him 'your employees gave me that'. He went inside and came out and threw me a different link and walked back inside like it was my fault. Another time I spent 250$ on tires and asked them first, if I buy the tires can you M&B them today? It's important that it has to happen today. They said yes. 6 hours later I called in. Nope. Hadn't done it. I call Vancouver cycle gear, they say yep, no problem. The did it in less than 10 minutes. Because that's how long it takes. When I got my money back (every employee was standing around watching me) they acted like I was a POS for getting a return, but I explained first BEFORE I BOUGHT THE TIRES, my 18 yr old cousin will be riding the bike the next 2 weeks. I need them done today if I'm going to buy them. If you made it this far in the review, just go on Saturday nights and Sunday if at all, because that guy is ok. But who knows. And I swear that's all true too. I'm not hater and wouldn't waste my time talking a bunch of crap on a business and hobby I love. But this cycle gear is a joke! Being only 17 in a motorcycle store should not change the way you are treated as a customer. The first time I walked into the store I was searching for a visor and I walked in to see two young guys standing at the counter talking without even acknowledging my existence, I then said, "Excuse me?" and one of them goes, "Yeah, whats up?" and I say that I am looking for a visor and he said "We have none." I understand that you don't have any but when a young guy walks into a store looking to drop some coin, treat him with some respect. read more

I've got a wonky sized head, and I'm a bit picky on top of that. It makes helmet shopping a pain. These guys were super patient with me and were very helpful as I took my sweet time trying on what seemed like a million helmets. The best part is, I knew what I wanted and when they were finding more helmets for me to try, they stuck within what I was asking for - they didn't try to sell me on the more spendy versions. read more
