Sean, the owner, is an amazing service guy, been doing this forever, and really knows his stuff. I bring my 06 V-Strom and 05 KLR here regularly and he gets the bikes to 100% each time. Most repair shops mark-up parts 200-300%, not Sean, he will charge you what we paid for them. If you feel like you are paying too much at Cycle Werks, take your bike somewhere else and pay three times as much for a brand new tech to do it wrong. Service was not even worth 1 star. Charged me $80 more than quoted to change tires that I provided, says he didn't have the right valve stems to replace so he put the old dry rotted ones back on. Now the tire is leaking air from the stem and he wants to charge me to replace the stems. To top it off this dude had the audacity to say he did what I asked him to do which was change the tires. Never would have imagined that I would have to specify to a so called mechanic to replace stems when replacing tires. Absolutely recommend this mechanic. Brought my Z6 in for front brakes. They didn't actually need to be done so instead of doing them anyway and charging for it he spent the time to inspect the entire bike, performed some maintenance items that needed to be done then went over the bike with me. It is a new bike for me and hadn't been looked at in a while. He was thorough, efficient & only charged me for one hour although he spent more time with the bike. His hourly rate is more than reasonable for a good mechanic. Very cheap really considering that rarity of a good motorcycle mechanic. read more

They did a good job with what I had them work on, hence the 3 stars. That being said, keep an eye on the pricing. The first quote they gave me over the phone was $850. I asked them to add one task to the list when I dropped it off so I figured it'd go up $50 or so as it was an easy job, maybe $100. Their updated price was $1,000. When I went to pick up the motorcycle the final charge was about $1,150 and they had never called to inform me the price would be higher for any particular reason. I needed the bike as it's my daily driver so I just paid it. I went back later to ask about a possible issue with the clutch and I was told all similar bikes have that issue. I took it to the dealership in town to have them take a look, as well as install some upgraded parts. Ends up one of the springs was getting worn, and the steel plates were blackened which were causing the slippage I thought I was experiencing. When I got the bike back it was working as it should've been and better (due to upgrades). Between the changing prices, not calling before final charges to inform of a price change (which the dealership did do, and added a discount due to an unexpected delay), and brushing off concerns of the bike not working right when asking them if they thought it could be a problem/needed to be fixed I doubt I'll be going back. read more

I purchased a used Kawi ZZR1200 in July '12 that needed a few things done to it. I took it to the local Kawi dealership but immediately thought otherwise as their service dept rep gave me the impression that since I didn't ride a HD, my money wasn't very welcome there (combined HD/Kawi dealership). So I looked around and thanks to Yelp I got in touch with Steve at Cycle Werks. Steve listened to my concnerns, answered my questions and diagnosed one of the problems I was having right on the spot. The Kawi dealership wanted 1hr minimum ($90) just for a tech to look at my bike! It was a very obvious choice and I couldn't be happier...not only is Steve a great guy and a fantastic mechanic, his prices are very reasonable. Highly Recommended! read more

My 2004 FZ1 hadn't seen any service in about 3 years /6k miles. On top of that, it sat parked the last 5 months as I recovered from knee surgery. This bike ran, but not great. So two weeks ago I stopped at Cycle Werks to check out their shop. It's a medium size 1-man shop. Before I was able to meet the owner he rolled a 1970-ish small Honda out for delivery to a customer. The Honda looked immaculate. It started with half a kick and the owner was beaming. I was sold on this place already. We made an appointment for my FZ1, and I'm glad we did. Some electrical details were fixed, like a fouled brake light switch and a horn that hadn't worked since 2010. Some levers were cleaned and freed to move properly, like my brake/clutch levers and my kick stand. Plus the motor just sings again. I haven't been on a dirt bike in about 25 years so I stopped in to ask a few questions about what type of bike I should be looking for. Sean was more than happy to provide some great info on what to look for and what to stay away from. I found a bike and after the first ride I noticed that I had a small leak coming from the engine area. He told me what it was, ordered the part which arrived the next day, I picked it up and went home to install. Well, it turned out to be a little tougher than I thought so I took my bike to him Saturday morning bummed out because I wasn't going to be able to ride that day. He busted his butt trying to cross reference the part in order to have me riding that day or at least Sunday. UNBELIEVABLE! He was genuinely excited for me to get back out there and ride. We had to order the part for a second time (only because I damaged the first one in my attempt to install). Not only did he fix the problem but he inspected the rest of the bike and made several needed adjustments. The charge for the work he did was half of what I expected to pay. He is honest, hardworking, and is a true expert in his field. Not many shops like this around!!! read more

I've visited this place on three separate occasions, and I was moderately satisfied with the service. I say moderately satisfied because even though Sean, the owner of the shop, did his job and was reasonably priced his attitude and rudeness didn't leave a great impression on me. It's unfortunate that his work quality isn't up to par with his customer service. I must add that on those three occasions I've visited his shop, never once did he come off as friendly, In fact the only reason why I acquired his assistance was because I didn't know much about motorcycles.In conclusion, I called him for a brief question regarding a motorcycle issue yesterday and he once again shocked me by being short tempered and rude, and so I asked him why he had to be so rude about a simple question and he stated " well sir if you don't like what I'm telling you, you can go somewhere else" and concluded by hanging up on me.
