Now known as HCA ER CY Fair. I went after I, not so gracefully conked myself in the side of the head with a pretty hefty piece of wood the night before. And wasn't feeling too good. From the second I walked in until I walked out, a shocking 20-25 minutes! I was treated like a drug seeking addict. All the way from the triage nurse to the Dr himself. I was having an extremely bad RA flare and made her aware of that. Yet when she was taking my B/P and it felt like my arm was going to break from it, her only response was " stay still, it's trying to get a reading " and I told her "well it's NOT going to be accurate if it's causing so much pain now is it!? And it was all downhill from there. From the Rn to the Dr neither of whom took even a second to actually listen to me, took zero history, mashed on my head causing even more pain announced " well there's no swelling " shown a light in my eyes. I said I was concerned because I tend to fracture very easily due to some medical conditions, that he would have known had anyone bothered to ask, and I got an eye roll! Seriously!? He sighed and said "oh and what would that be, when I started listing them I got the following comment... " Oh... The usual" are you fn kidding me!? And he left! Someone then brought in this machine to get me registered and checked out "That's a whole nother issue, while trying to do that the Rn came in and started shoving papers in my face to sign. I told her I had a couple of questions that apparently the dr was way too busy to hang around for me to even ask, when I asked her all she did was parrot exactly what he said. At the same time still shoving papers at me and pointing at the registration screen telling me I need to sign here etc.... it was like there was a fire and they needed to get out. The absolute worst part is neither the Rn nor the Dr followed, even a little bit, standard head injury protocol! Didn't ask a single question from the concussion check list and I had 5! When I opened my mouth something crunched didn't get to say anything about that. So needless to say, AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE! The ONLY reason I went there is because they are less than a mile from my house, but you can damn well bet I WILL bleed out before I go back there! And wouldn't even trust them to treat a hangnail! When someone called a couple of days later to see how I was, I told them " y'all didn't care the day I was there. So why should I believe you do know?" read more

Review on the ER and hospital. I went in for a kidney stone. This hospital sent me home twice and I ended up back in the ER 3 times because of the pain. The third time, they discussed invasive surgery. Apparently, they never heard of or don't have the capability of non-invasive stone removal. I passed the stone fortunately before anything was done. I didn't trust the doctors and the staff was ridiculous asking me to sign paperwork while under sedation. They treated me like a junkie after pain meds. It wasn't until after they MRI'd me they took me serious and then they still down played the pain giving me the equivalent of tylenol the first trip to the ER. By the 3rd trip to the ER, they were giving me two doses of morphine and I could still feel pain. Based on that experience, I will never go back to this ER again unless im knocked out and don't know it. Lack of compassion, doctors wanting to perform surgeries, and the billing department asking for money while you're knocked out. I felt like the hospital was incompetent & unprepared. read more

I went to the ER at CyFair Med Center, and from there was admitted to the hospital due to my symptoms (horrible head/neck ache, elevated heart rate, dizziness, nausea). I was there for 2 days, in those two days i had to beg for pain medication, repeatedly told them my pain management was not being managed properly, they repeatedly tried to give me nsaids which i told them i could not take because of stomach ulcers. I was hurting so bad that i was vomiting. They blew 3 veins while attempting to put an iv line in which has never happened to me once in my entire life. They took mri's, xrays, and ct's, which never told me the results of. They continuoisly told me my heart rate was 130+ which is very dangerous and could lead to heart attack. They gave me a shot in my stomach and told me it was a blood thinner but would tell me nothing else about why i needed it. The night before i was released i finally saw the neurologist, who informed me that i had a bulging disc in my cervical spine that was pressing on a nerve, hence all the pain i was in. He spoke to the nurses and left me 2 prescriptions, which i was to fill when i was released. He had his own practice and wanted me to go there for the rest of my testing. The next morning i was told i would speak to an on-call physician who would probably release me. The on-call came in around noon with no chart in his hand and told me he was releasing me and i could take ibuprofen for any pain i was feeling. I told him i could not take nsaids because of my ulcer. He said i could just take tylenol then. When i told him i had seen a neurologist the night before and actually had a bulging disc and pinched nerve, he knew nothing of this. Nor did he know of my excelerated heart rate. Thankfully before he left the neurologist was able to give me a prescription for a muscle relaxer, that would help me control the pain just a little. So the primary doctor, after learning all this, left the room and left me with many unanswered questions, esp my heart rate. I am trying my hardest to get a dr appt with my primary tomorrow; if i dont i will need to go to the ER again (not CyFair of course). I spoke with some sort of patient advocate before i left regarding some of my concerns.All she said was that the attending physician must have read my chart before the neurologist came. So he released me without even knowing what was fully wrong with me, and whether i was stable or not. This disturbs me deeply and now i am scared i was released before they got me stable. I would recommend avoiding this hospital at all possible. Their lines of communication are horrible, they play around too much, and they dont seem to care if the patient is in horrible pain. Also the attending physicians are there long enough to release you and give you tylenol for pain. I hope they allow me to post pics so you can see what they did to my hand and elbow. read more

Well first things first, my experience wasn't so bad and VERY fast in the ER, it's just something that's on my mind heavy, when I went to get my CAT scan, and the lady gave me the medicine thru my iv, that was already set up in the room, she never changed any thing at all, she just hooked it up to my iv and when I was done with the scan she took it right out, I'm not to sure if this is regular or even okay due to all the blood that's dealt with on ivs, & her just hooking it up giving me medicine thru my veins and unhooking it has me bothered read more

I am reviewing the maternity ward of this hospital. Almost 3 years ago I delivered my first son here and the experience was horrific. He was immediately taken from me after delivery and I didn't see him for 12 hours because he had a slight fever from the stressful labor. My husband got to see him for his bath and then he was sent off to the nursery overnight for monitoring. The nurses were cold and either overworked or just plain uncaring. I asked for help learning how to breastfeed and had a nurse say to just stick him on and go for it. My first son and I never connected and my breastfeeding attempts failed miserably. I also had a social worker come in to study me to make sure I wasn't abusing the baby, and was so uncomfortable with her watching me that I couldn't even hold him. I had to deliver here again last week because my doctor has rights to this hospital. She assured me that they had made significant changes. Boy, was she right. This hospital is now 100% PRO breastfeeding and has a lactation consultant on sight that checks in with you every few hours. The nurses immediately placed baby on my chest after delivery. Formula is available but not offered, and the new motto is to leave mommy and baby alone unless we ask for you. I was checked and prodded much less frequently after delivery. Recovery rooms are still extremely tiny and the TVs are small, the beds are still uncomfortable but it's not like it's a hotel. ;) Baby is no longer sent immediately to the nursery and if he does go, he comes back in 3 hours for another nursing session. I LOVED every baby nurse we had! I did end up with some issues with 2 nurses. Neither checked me and both forgot to put in my order for food. I also did not get clean towels or had my linens changed - I had to change that stuff myself at one point. I complained to my new nurse the next morning and she was so upset she reported both of the other nurses to the manager. My husband received a free breakfast and the chef prepared me a special omelet. I once received a breakfast that was not gluten free and the staff apologized...gave it to hubby again, and I got a fresh breakfast within minutes. The doctors on staff are very considerate. Everyone treated me like a human and explained everything that was going to happen. My baby had a few minor issues and the pediatrician (Dr. Chang?) was incredible. She actually came in and sat down to talk to us and reassured us that she wanted us to take home a healthy baby. The anesthesiologist on staff honored my request for a low dose epidural and my entire labor/delivery experience was 1000 times better. If you are unhappy with something at this hospital, SPEAK UP. If you're delivering a baby and the nurses/staff make you uncomfortable or upset you, ask for Angie - she's been there for years and played a huge role in cleaning out the dead weight. Having a baby should be a wonderful and exciting experience, and it finally was for me. The best nurses there are Liesl and Ashley Lee - two of the sweetest gifts from God!!! Great birthing coaches. They gave me a birthing ball and offered tips on labor exercises. Yes, the gluten free food sucks and the vending machines are thieves. But the food service staff will try to do everything they can to make sure you're fed and happy, just say something. Hope this helps someone.... read more

I came here because I thought I was having a stroke. I was admitted and have been on the 4th floor for 3 days. The level of incompetence in this hospital is beyond belief. I've been misdiagnosed 5 times. I've only seen my main cardiologist doctor ONCE (been here 3 days) and he hadn't even looked at my CT scan when he came to see me. Just stopped in on ceremony I guess. I had blood drawn not from my IV because it was easier to draw the blood than fix the paper work, just to have someone come in 4 hours later and draw same blood AGAIN with another hole in my arms. Today I asked for nausea medication. 6 (six) hours later I'm STILL WAITING because they doctor (that's been here once in 2 days) hasn't said it was okay even though I got the medication in day 1. I've had CT scans, ultra sounds, CT scans with contrast, cardiographs, countless vials of blood drawn and they haven't told me a damn thing. They found a spot on my lung and I found out from the X-Ray tech. The doctor hasn't even told me they found a spot. I mean what the fuck. This place needs a SERIOUS reevaluation of their staff (Mainly doctors and nurses) and what the hell these people are doing. So, if you're in need of good care with people that give you the confidence that they'll make you better - don't come here. I don't feel ANY better and I've had to fight tooth and nail the entire time just for information. read more

We had to take my baby to Cy-Fair Hospital Emergency Center last week because she was throwing up a lot since the night before & had a fever.. Checking in was easy enough, just need to fill up the information & they get their band on you & take you to the back. In the back, we were taken to our room where we wait for the doctor to come in. The RN came in and took the baby's stats. Not too long, the doctor came in. Very nice & informative. He examined the baby & then ordered several blood test & pee test to be run. He put our baby on IV fluid. Now... to prepare the baby for the IV & the blood test, they need to put the port in her vein... The first RN (male) came in with his stuff, prepare & another guy came in to hold our baby down. We were next to her holding her too. I understand that she was crying up the storm but this male RN stab her left hand, not arm, maybe to him it's easier, but not really.. Because after almost 5 minutes stabbing around our baby's left hand, he couldn't find the vein. Bandage that hand up. *sigh* Then, he went to the right hand... and stabbbb.... *ugh* another 5 minutes went by and still he couldn't find her vein... he kept moving the needle in & out & in & out... Drove me crazy... My baby is hurting!! She's crying & trashing like OMG... That was hard to watch! Then he gave up & bandage the right hand! OK NOW WHAT? I'm about to get pissed!!! Then, he said to the other guy... Let's get (insert name here)... I forgot her name... My bf & I was happy to see that he went and get someone else... Came two ladies... Awesome!! They were amazing!! She prepared her stuff... stab our baby once in our right arm & found a vein quick and draw the blood for the tests.... and set up the IV.... LIKE OMGGGG.... They should've came firstttttt.... before that guy who kept stabbing around our baby's hands.... Thanks to him now my baby got blue/black/purple bruises on the top of her hands... both of them... *sigh* Anywayssss, he also put her on pee catheter so he can get her pee... She's pretty dehydrated from the vomiting... That was another painful thing to watch, but he did it quick and then it's over... He did say a warning "this is not for the faint of heart, please step out if you think you're not strong enough to see this"..... I'm so thankful that the two ladies (RN) came in.... They were heaven sent.... Finally now all the tests are over... Her dad is holding her and her IV on her arm... She's yawning... Not too long... She falls asleep... Ofcourse, tired from all the crying & trashing not to mention the vomiting & dehydration.... They also gave her some medicine in the IV.. Then, her IV is done.... The RN took out everything. They changed the bed sheet & back to clean sheet now.... It's pleasant now... and we can tell that our baby is doing better because her colors came back now & she's a bit alert almost like her usual self...The doctor came in & he noticed that as well.... Consult us on what she can & can't eat in the next 24-48 hours, told us what to watch out for and to follow up with her pediatrician... ofcourse! Not too long, the billing lady came in, took our information and then gave us our discharge paper & off we go..... This ER took care of her and I'm so thankful except for that one part where that male RN kept stabbing & jabbing the needle & not finding our baby's vein.... Overall, it's a-OK experience... Attention y'all, their urgent care center located at Hwy 6 North and Pebble Lake in Copperfield was also a money trap. I say "was" because I think it was converted it to an imaging center.... I wonder why. I went there in 2015 because an umbrella spoke missing the end cap pierced through one of my fingers and I could not find a wire cutter at home. Went in, doctor pulled the wire out, gave me a tetanus shot and placed a band aid on the finger. When I checked out the bill was for 1,500.00 !!!! I paid them $250.00 which was my ER visit deductible and asked for an itemized statement for the services rendered which they did not provide. Numerous phone calls to their billing department proved fruitless. Bunch of thieves! Stay away from this place! I would not even take my cats there. read more

I go to Cyfair Hospital for physical therapy several times a week for a knee injury. * Joan Fiala is the best physical therapist I could ever ask for! She is a truly caring and professional person. Joan is excellent at her job. She has helped me tremendously. I highly recommend the physical therapy department. Also, at the the front desk, Lori, is very personable and professional with everyone. I am so sad to rate this place so low ONLY because the nurses in labor and delivery and the pediatric nurse that saw us were amazing! This hospital however and the rest of our stay was awful! After labor and delivery I was transported to a tiny room where I waited for several hours for "food" and also had different nurses and people with surveys constantly in and out of the room. Once the food arrived it was a cold version of a meatloaf with non flavored sides. The next morning, our nurse for the day came in with these huge blue light contraptions and just began to set up and never once took the time to explain to us why our newborn was needing treatment, we instead had to request a different nurse come back and explain. There was some confusion later at the change of nurses over some protective eyewear for our baby and the nurse flat out blamed us and told the new nurses well I don't know why they don't follow directions but I taught them the procedure...long story short she had watched us settle our newborn in and never corrected anything! Now a week later I am trying to figure out how to pay my bill and cannot get ANYONE in the billing/pricing departments to answer the phones. I waited 24 minutes before finally giving up on getting any answers today. Hopefully tomorrow's call won't take over two hours total like today's. read more

So, I don't usually write reviews for medical type places...I mean, usually I am going to a place like this for a not fun reason, and I didn't pick it, my insurance did. But I had such a great experience at Cypress Fairbanks, I have to share. I came here over the weekend for some diagnostic tests I need prior to a possible surgery, an ultrasound and a upper GI X-ray, so this review is based on these only. First, they have weekend appointments! This alone made me very happy! It is so inconvenient to get everything done during the work week. I wish there were more weekend options. Second, I had one appointment scheduled at 8:30am and the other at 9:30am, with an arrival time of 7:45am. Well, they came to get me shortly after I arrived and just took me from one test to the other. I was out of there and heading home not too long after my first appointment was to start. I have truly never experienced getting out early (or heck, even on time) in a medical setting before.... Third, everyone who help me with both tests were incredibly friendly, helpful and in good moods. This was an easy and pleasurable experience, and quite frankly, that is not even close to my typical medical experience, so thank you Cypress Fairbanks! read more

This is the worst hospital in the Greater Houston area. It is run by a combination of cheapness and incompetence. They forcibly discharged my wife (a mother and newborn) at 9 pm at night 24 hours after delivery to failing to have any food after a 4 pm delivery, it is atrocious. On top, their finance team said we rushed out before speaking to them...as insult to injury. Stay away from Cy Fair Hospital! read more

The first time I came here was when my fetus stopped moving. The hospital staff was very nice and made me feel so comfortable and calm. No compassion whatsoever. No pain management even if you walk in with a three inch gash in your head that requires two staples! No numbing or even a Tylenol. Wasn't even offered a glass of water or any discharge care, just return in one week. I was walked promptly to the financial office after leaving, was told by a horrible attendant that she would have to collect something for payment. She even asked if I had at least $300 to cover today's services. Terrible place to have a baby. My baby had a sucking problem. She would not eat from the bottle. They did not tell me about this the whole three days I was there. They gave me my baby for a feeding the whole three days I was there and she would not eat and I couldn't understand why. Also, I was on heavy pain medication because I had a C section. So that means my baby missed a feeding for three days. That means that they were starving my baby. My baby lost a lot of weight while she was at the hospital. They only told me about her sucking problem after the three days when she had to go into NICU. read more

I'm basing my experience here for 2 times I've been here. The first is when I delivered and now my son is being hospitalized. Absolutely 5 stars for the doctors and food service people. Unfortunately we don't see them as often as we see our nurses and the techs. After delivery, they bring you to a tiny room, which isn't bad, I can deal with that. But what really annoyed me was that most of the nurses I had were just there for work, they didn't care about you or your baby. They came in, did their job, asked you if you needed anything and left. And not bring you what you asked for until you repeatedly ask. (Example, extra blankets, water, pillow, etc) Also when you ask for anything, it's like they're really stingy to give you anything, like it's coming out of their paycheck. (Formula) I had a lady come in before I was discharged and she asked me for my son's pediatrician. At the time I had left the dr's name at home and I didn't know my husband's SSN so I couldn't fill out the form, plus I was trying to breastfeed him and he was very fussy bc I wasn't producing anything so when the lady came back in, she said in a rude tone, "We'd appreciate it if you filled out the forms." Ummm hello? I just had a baby, I'm in pain, I'm exhausted and frustrated bc my baby just keeps crying, chill out! There were nurses coming to check up on him so I'm trying to calm him down, and you have this rude lady telling you to fill out paperwork....huhh -_- Next thing, I was in pain, not only from down there but my son wasn't latching on correctly. I cracked and it was just stressful. I asked the nurses and they all said it looked right and walked out. I called the lactation specialist, same thing. They all said babies stomach are small so they don't need much, but my son wasn't getting anything, and all he did was cry. Finally I pretty much gave up and I had to sign a waiver form saying it was ok to give him formula. Which later the nurses only gave you 4 at a time, and I had to keep asking for more. All in all, I couldn't wait to leave. I should have learned my lesson the first time but nope, I'm back (bc my pediatrician works in this hospital) Oh and might I add, my OB recommended him and I'm changing my pediatrician. Didn't like him (K.A), and thought I'd give him a few chances, and nope, the hospital and him are not worth it. I'm definitely going to TCH. Nurses again, stingy with supplies. One of the nurses thought he was a girl and kept calling him Lauren, which I thought was funny, but they just don't care, and that's what bothers me. You don't check the paperwork to see that he's a boy and his name is Lawrence. Oh and my poor baby, when we first came, it just seemed like the nurses are not trained well...poked my baby so many times to get an IV in. They did his two feet, both hands, and even his head. I was hesitant when they did his head but they assured me that was a clear vein and they could get it, sure enough they couldn't! They both came from the pediatric NICU. After my nurse failed to get an IV in 3 times, she called them. I told them no more. Bc my baby was so exhausted after the two nurses came and poked his arms and feet again. Once they got to his head, he was so exhausted he couldn't cry anymore. Also they gave him the sugar water and kept squeezing more into his mouth, he started to throw up. He gagged and the nurse said, "bless you"..umm are you stupid? Even I knew he wasn't sneezing he was gagging on the sugar water. NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER LET THEM TAKE YOUR BABY ALONE. ALWAYS ASK TO GO WITH YOUR BABY. Honestly, it's not their baby they're hurting. So if you're not there, you don't know what they're doing to your child. After I refused to let those two nurses from the NICU touch him, they called in Lori from the NICU. Of course by then I was in B*tch mode. But I made it clear, if you can't do it the first time, I'm not letting you do it the 2nd time. She got it in the 1st try. So if you must come here, and your baby needs an IV and your nurse doesn't get it with the 1st try, ask for LORI FROM NICU. I'm changing my OB, and my pediatrician. No way am I coming back to this hospital. Positive note: Dr. Cheng, and Dr. Kalcu? Both were amazing. If only the rest of the team were on board. read more

Brought my husband here in horrible pain - we knew it was kidney stones from past experience. Waited over an hour for Triage, then were told it would be 3-4 hours before he could be seen. We asked for some type of pain relief and were denied. The customer service was terrible, the nurse shrugged her shoulders at my husband when he said, I can't make it 3-4hrs with the pain I'm in. It was a terrible experience and I'm deeply disappointed as we have used this hospital and ER multiple times in the past. With my husband about to pass out, I took him down the street to the Urgent Care on Jones Road across from HEB. He was seen and treated IMMEDIATELY. read more

My friend has been here for the past day and half and they have been looking for a discharge since 11 am this morning and no luck, nurses don't let him leave unless doctor discharge which is understandable but why take all dAmn day to not have a doctor come by and still at this moment keep waiting on a doctor. They got me in and out. The staff was courteous and friendly. The physician made me feel at ease and that I wasn't just a number.

Unprofessional ! Bad services ! I scheduled my mamogram 3 weeks ago in this hospital and the receptionist, her name was Susan, asked me whether i like to go to another branch in Tanner-Bw8. I said yes and she put me down at 8:30 in the morning. I came 15' to fill all the form, the front desk lady want to charge me 230 for the fee. I said Susan told me that i don't have to pay anything, my insurance is covered all. After she checked, it's clear. After all the forms filled, i wait another 15' at it's was 8:45. She told me that the Tech will not there until 1pm, asked me to go to the different branch which is 20' away. What 's wrong ? Lack of responsibility! How come they made appointment and didn't arrange. I will never go to this hospital again read more

I only give this a 3 out of 5 because the nurses were Fantastic. There is nothing else I can say is good about this place. My mom had surgery here and I was never notified of any progress and it took almost 8 hours after her surgery to get her into her room. And in the meantime our family is waiting in the waiting room because we are not allowed to be in the post op area which I undersatnd, but no one ever came to update us as they said they would after my multiple times of checking in with them. And according to my mom the food was so awful she would have rather had road kill. read more

I walked in and asked for Outpatient service, I had a reaction to a wasp sting and was told to got to the Emergency room. I left because I did not need emergency service, I went to an Urgent Care but NOT from Cyfair. They refer everybody to the Emergency room so they can charge you a lot of money. Five years ago I went there with an broken ankle to the emergency room and they let me sit in the wating room for 9 hours, disgusting service. read more

I hadn't heard the best things about this hospital other than when my niece had to be taken in as an emergency they were great. As a parent, the last thing we expect is for our child to be in pain and crying. Even more, when they have to be admitted to a hospital. It is heart breaking. My son was only 6 months when we took him in because his wheezing wouldn't go away and his pedi office wouldn't take same day appointments. Therefore, we immediately took him in to get checked out. The er nurses were very helpful and experienced. They checked his oxygen level and ordered x-rays. The doctor (Asian) then came in very concern but told us that he was going to admit our baby because he had bronchitis. He was very caring and reassuring of the situation. We then got a room that night. We were there two days and the staff treated us wonderful. One of the pediatrician's even recommend me to change my sons formula because of his acid reflux which his pedi never even gave us that option. They always followed their schedule with his respiratory treatments with a smile on their face. Overall, I think the care and attention was the best! So far I would highly recommend! read more

I had to go to the hospital to have a rhogam injection for my pregnancy. The registration staff was so friendly and helpful. They got me into labor & delivery for the shot very quickly. When I got to labor and delivery, they realized my dr had sent incorrect lab work, but they didn't turn me away. They gave me the option of drawing my blood & completing the test that day. I took that option, and they let me hang out in a delivery room while I waited, so that I would be comfortable. The nurses were funny, friendly & very very helpful. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the lab took way longer than expected to get my blood typing complete. I waited up there 3 hours, but the staff showed obvious concern for me. I feel relief at having met the nurses, and hope my delivery experience is just as good. read more

Do not come here, save yourself and choosw any other hospital because Houston has many. My ER experience wasn't bad, I had a great nurse and was taken care of and checked on regularly. My tests came back abnormal and I was diagnosed with appendicitis. From there things went downhill. I wasn't given a room and put on a waiting list and not given a time as to when the surgeon would come see me or anything at all. Eventually the next day at 12:30 a nurse came to get me and it was time to get me prepped for surgery. Everything went good and two hours later it was time for surgery. Stage 1 recovery wasas expected and I was in a lot of pain and given medication that made me unable to breathe which was expected. Stage 2 recovery is where it went bad. My family was concerned about my breathing due to my hisyof asthma. When falling asleep while coming down from anesthesia I wasn't able to tell if I was breathing or not. The nurse assigned to me held a disrespectful tone all throughout. She did not want me staying but that wasn't up to her in the first place. We asked her to contact the doctor and she said she's going to but turns out she never even had a number or any form of contact until surprisingly we stumbled upon a doctor whose a family friend and gave it to her. She also continued to mention insurance and money and that isn't something that concerns her at all. When we approached her supervisor she came back and very curtly asked "so whats the problem?" She then continued to go on and on about how shes worked here 35 years and was tired. I told her I understand but she kept using it as an excuse for her attitude and even went as far as continuously rolling her eyes. After that the doctor granted me to stay but for hours the room was "being cleaned." Finally the room was cleaned but we still couldn't go. We waited some more and when we asked again we were told to wait because shifts needed to be changed. It was insanity and I was in pain so we once again called the supervisor. She then finally said we could move to the room. I am never one to pull the race card but some nurses (all caucusan) were blatantly racist to our faces and to my mom who wears a headscarf. I was treated much more carefully and with respect from every other doctor/ nurse. Don't waste your time and go to this hospital where employees can get away with being so openly disrespectful. read more

I came here for my MRI. The staff were so nice and explained everything to me so I wouldn't be afraid (it was not scary after all). They even provided socks to keep me warm, a comfy couch to wait on & and played my iPhone music while I was in the machine. It was so nice to have my own playlist and have the staff say "only a few more minutes, you're almost done!" I would recommend this location if you need an MRI. read more

I came to this hospital because it was the closest hospital in the area. I'd been here before because my doctor worked out of this hospital. He no longer works here. I'd had some experience with other doctors when mine was not on call, I asked the emergency room doctor to not put me under Dr singla because she is rude, inconpassionate, she talks rudely to you sometimes if she listens to you, Which is rarely the case. I'm working on getting a transfer because I dont trust Dr singla. And, if you can't trust your dr with your life, they should not be practicing medicine. I am also filing a complaint with the medical board. I'm only giving 1 star because the nurses are great, and so are the food service employees. She is the only problem with this hospital. read more

I have had horrible experiences here for decades. My doctor sends me there. I broke my ankle (given a Tylenol) on Tuesday. On Friday, I came down with a staph infection & 104 temp. I was brought in in an ambulance. The pain was excruciating. They grabbed my blanket off me and snottily said, "Oh, you have a fever, you can't have that." Then turned around and did hand lotion - walked away. I was left in the ER for 5 hours before finally coming to enough to say I needed pain relief (even though they had asked me earlier). I finally got some, I guess you have to ask. I'm afraid to ask. They call people "drug seekers" automatically. Guilty, until proven innocent. After being admitted, the real fun starts. Although some nurses seem to handle it, others claim they have too many patients. "You are not a priority." "Get a private nurse." I had vomited in my bed. I had no towels, washcloths, nothing. I had to sit in it for over 3 hours. Once a tech came in, but she turned right around and walked out. The TV was broken. The sound was blast or mute - it came from the actual 18 incher up on the wall. The picture was distorted. The same room phone is there from when I had a baby there (another nightmare) 27 years ago. The room is shabby, chipped paint, dirty. Some of the good nurses carry a phone - but nobody tells you this. They have those big boards up, I didn't even know what room I was in. Nothing on it. Ask for something...be prepared to wait over and hour, MINIMUM. The food. I ordered sugar free vanilla pudding every day. I got fruit cocktail once, ice cream once, mixed fruit another. I ordered a BLT, I got a grilled cheese. Although the little ticket on the tray is correct, the order is a crapshoot. I never got a drink. On the day the doctor said I could leave, the nurse was so confused - I was there another "8" hours. They said I needed a medicine that my insurance wouldn't pay all for ($60) in the hospital pharmacy. That is illegal. You accept it or not. She told me Walgreens wouldn't pay it either. After fighting with my insurance company (that had no idea what I was talking about) and the 8 hours later, my phone gets an alert that my Rxs are ready to be picked up. They said the doc said I could leave without it. WTF???? I could go on. There are so many big, new hospitals in the area. I guess I will be looking for a new doctor that sends me to one. read more

I have read so many bad reviews about this hospital so when it came time deliver my little one I was on the nervous side to my astonishment they were GREAT! All the nurses were very caring and patient. I would recommend this hospital and would deliver here again! A big thanks to some of my nurses Brittany, Jennifer, & Katy!!!! read more

The emergency service here is horrible, the registration takes very long time and they are not compassionate at all, they don't know anything about children health and care and the nurses are really rude in this area of the hospital. I took my baby here for a really high fever and had to wait like 2 or more hours to be called by triage nurse then sent back to the waiting room, finally after very long time was called inside, the nurse was really rude she had a bad attitude, struck my babies nose really bad when checking for the flu and had the worse attitude the whole time, she even dare start arguing with me when I asked for my babies medicine that was requested by the Dr and I was waiting there for a long for nothing for my baby to be sick with a fever and nobody had even given us medicine, the Dr was very Rude also, he couldn't care less about my worry as a mother or my child's health, he didn't listen and was kind of like laughing and making jokes, very inappropriate. Wish don't have to use this er services ever again, and hope you don't either, specialy if you are taking your child. read more

Only time family member had heart issues was when she did not get her BP medicine due to delay at Cy-Fair Hospital On another instance she sat in the ER waiting area for 75 minutes with a systolic BP of 250 the whole time with only a couple others waiting. Tried 3 times on this occasion talking to ER admit person to no avail! I suspect their problem is continuity of care, as their upper management changes every year! Never again!!! read more

Thank you Cy Fair ER!!! I took my son in because he was having severe stomach pain and fever. We waited no more than 2 min before they called us back and he was seen. They were quickly able to diagnose him with appendicitis and scheduled surgery the same day! As it turns out it ruptured and so we stayed for about a week. During our stay the staff particularly Jennifer, dr Singh, and dr Ikeda provided excellent care and helped reassure me that my son would be ok. He has fully recovered now thanks to their prompt medical care!!! Ps. The only slight downside would be the facility is a bit older and may need a few modern updates but frankly I would still chose this hospital because of the care and expertise I have seen. read more

I went in because I had taken a pregnancy test but was having a little pain. Since I just found out I was only 4 weeks which was really early. They did an ultrasound saw a sac and no heartbeat yet and said I was gonna miscarry. Told me I should follow up with my doctor to see if I will need a dnc or let it happen naturally. I was so upset, everyone should know that you cannot see a heart beat that early. If I did not know better they would make me have a heart attack hearing that news. I still havent seen a doctor yet, it was a nurse practitioner telling me all of this. I am now 5 months along and I wish I could go up there and let them see me, but I will not set foot there again, and I will make sure I let everyone I know, know about them. read more

Stay at this hospital if you want to die. Unfortunately, I was at this hospital several years ago. I was in horrible shape and I could not even feed myself. The staff was lazy and incompetent. If my family was not there with me everyday, I would have died at that hospital. read more

I had a really great experience here. I have been fighting for a D&C with UTMB Katy (see other review) as they said I was fine then 24 hours later it was urgent I had "something else" done instead of passing it myself...I went into the ER after work in terrible physical and emotional pain. Originally the ER nurse said that unless I was hemorrhaging or septic, they would probably sent me home. I cried and plead for help. She called the OB on call and she said she would see me. Theresa Castillo came in late on a Friday night and talked to me so gently, told me about my options, and said that because I was in so much pain, they would go ahead and admit me that night and do surgery the next morning. The only reason they didn't do it that night is because I ate at 6 pm and it was only about 11 pm. Everyone except for that cold ER nurse was very helpful. (she warmed up eventually but I felt like she did not want to help me originally. Take a pain pill and go home, because I'm sure that's what she is used to). The ultrasound tech had to do a very painful pelvic ultrasound which made me scream in pain and she was trying her best to be gentle, talked me through it, and I swear I saw a tear come out of her eye. Dr Theresa Castillo and the OR team were great. She was SO caring. I was able to even hug her. She knew I was suffering and I'm thankful finally someone helped me. Even the night nurse who checked on me while I was sleeping startled me as I was asleep and she petted my head and told me everything was okay she was just checking on me. I am blown away on their bedside manner. The OR team was amazing and really made me feel at ease. If I do have a baby in the future, I would be going back. I may even see if Dr. Castillo can be my new OBGYN going forward. This woman is a SAINT!! On a side note, my day nurse who took out my IV and discharged me had me and my family laughing. I left in such good spirits. I had a great experience with everyone but the triage nurse and the original ER nurse I spoke with. I'm confused on all the bad reviews! Maybe it's the OBGYN or Materinity Wing that was so great! I don't wish what I went through on ANYONE, but if they are going through the same thing, I hope they stumble across Dr. Castillo. read more

Outraged by the "care" provided at this "hospital". Admitted into ER for external hemorrhoids with severe blood loss over the weekend. Admitting surgeon was advised by my gastroenterologist that surgery was the only treatment option left. The surgeon, Dr. Patel, consults with me that surgery on all 3 veins would be too drastic and wanted to admit me overnight to monitor for changes. I find out the next morning from my Gastro that the surgeon's reason for not going forth with surgery the night before was because I didn't want to. Interesting. The story goes on to giving me the run around on surgery date and passing me onto another surgeon. The new surgeon finally schedules my surgery for the next day after starving me for 1.5 days in anticipation of a surgery that was NEVER going to happen. When the nurse calls the doctor a few hours later to get consent paperwork for tomorrows surgery...the doctor proceeds to tell her it's been cancelled and he's no longer performing the surgery. HORRIBLE billing experience!!! I switched to Baylor 3years and I have never had a problem! I am still fighting with this place (Google Tenet billing fraud) about $500 from a visit 4 years ago. It's not about the $$ for me anymore, it's about the audacity of how they treat their customers. The billing department and the managers are the most uncaring individuals I have ever dealt with. You would think they run a jail house not a hospital. Get copies of every piece of paperwork, all payments made, agreements, and EOB's for future (4 yrs. later) heartache dealing with these folks.
