When I called to see why, I was told that there was really no good reason for being so late. It was set up sideways, so what should have been the front was on the side. The back of the cake had white icing, but looked like they ran out of icing and the remainder of the icing was a cream color. Also trying to get in touch with Dena was impossible. After paying the deposit, we tried for months to reach her to set up an appointment to discuss what we wanted. We called, left messages, sent emails and got no response. She finally responded when I left a message asking what the balance was. Sadly, I would not recommend.

There were no schools for cakes or YouTube tutorials like there is today. In the kitchen chasing around three children, the youngest of which was a year old, she started her craft. From such a humble beginning her business was born, and since 1995 she has continued to grow her talent and vision. Recently I had to honor of seeing her fulfill her lifelong dream of opening her business in a brick and mortar location over at The Silos. I cannot think of a more deserving person. She has made my wedding cake, my husband's grooms cake, and many birthday cakes for my daughter. Even when we've frozen and thawed leftover cake it has still been very soft and moist, never dry. I've always been a fan of supporting local businesses, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
