If you're near the Pismo Pier, skip the crowded boardwalk and head up to this rooftop. The layout is beautiful and the views of the beach are unbeatable. We spent a gorgeous Monday afternoon here grazing on appetizers and enjoying the sun. The food was light and refreshing specifically the bruschetta and the calamari. The staff made us feel right at home, which is why our "one drink" turned into a four-hour stay. It's cozy, upscale but down-to-earth, and easily one of my new favorite spots in Pismo. read more

Cypress Beach House was an absolute 10/10 experience from start to finish. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. I ordered the entrée with creamy mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked meat, broccolini, and a rich mushroom gravy--and it was hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everything was cooked beautifully and full of flavor. The drinks were just as impressive. The cocktail was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and paired so well with the ocean setting. Sitting on the patio during sunset made the experience even more special--the views were stunning and created such a relaxing, coastal vibe. Service was attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly taken care of without being overbearing. Cypress Beach House is the perfect spot for a date night, special occasion, or just a beautiful evening by the ocean. This spot was extra lovely because we happened to be staying at the hotel it's in. :-) Win for us! We came up mostly for snacks midday, and the service was always great. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts! Super yummy! On a particularly windy day, this rooftop spot was especially nice because we were a bit shielded from the wind but could still have sun and the sounds of the pier/ ocean. read more

Positives first- the view is great and complimentary valet for 2 hours to enjoy your dining experience. I have Celiac which I disclosed right when our waitress came over. It's small bites til 4pm. No big- we asked about a few items and were told because there is no designated fryer those items couldn't be made gluten free. The menu says GF next to a good portion of items however that changes once cooked in oil with all the gluten items. We settled on dip with potato chips. I decided to wait to try them when thinking did the waitress even know what gluten is or Celiac? Those chips are fried in the same Fryer. Not GF. I wish staff was well educated on the difference of Celiac and gluten sensitivity. The service was slow, they did have a GF bun but that's about it. Taro chips with albacore also avoid- chips are In the same fryer. I only leave this review to hopefully help the next human who cannot have cross contamination. read more

A really nice dog friendly chill spot. We got there a little after 10 and found out that the kitchen closes around that time. Google had said it was open till 11. The waitress/bartender was really nice and let us put in a dinner order at the last minute. We both got the ribeye, a couple of beers and a dinner salad. Not sure what was all in the salad, but it was really good. The ribeyes were cooked perfect, the mashed potatoes were perfect, love the carrots, some of them could've been cooked a little bit more. Overall it was a nice dinner at a nice chill laid-back outside rooftop. There was fire pits and decent music playing. We will have to come back again with friends and hang out. read more

Views, views, views! The Inn at the Pier has a wonderful rooftop bar located inside called Cypress Beach House, where the views of Pismo Beach and the pier are absolute perfection. Extra bonus - they are extremely dog friendly so our pups enjoyed the nice weather while people watching. They brought over some water for our pups as soon as we arrived too. Visited around noon on a Sunday, and their brunch is extended until 2pm on the weekends. They have a limited brunch menu as well as some boozy beverages including bloody mary's, spritz's, espresso martinis, and mimosas. They also offer a lunch menu with appetizers, salads, soups and main entrees including burgers, pasta and sandwiches. Our server, Tarynn, was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the breakfast burrito as a scramble and my husband ordered the smash burger. Both were delicious and very filling! First time here and was not disappointed! I got the steak frites and my partner for the shrimp linguine (because they were out of the braised beef rigatoni) and both of us were impressed! I've always wanted to try some authentic steak frites with the peppercorn sauce and I'll tell ya, I'm gonna be coming back for this one! The flavor was impeccable, the pasta dish was good according to my partner! I was weary about this place based on the reviews of slow service but honestly our guy knocked it out of the park! I don't remember his name but he mentioned he was still getting used to moving to night shift so give him a bonus if you see this because he was amazing! We had a 7:30 res and with the timing of the sunset I'd say this is ideal for a romantic date night! Book at 7:30 and you get to see the sunset from beginning to end once you sit down! I had asked on my reservation booking online if they could surprise my partner with a dessert for our anniversary but it seems the message got lost in translation so I was bummed but not surprised hehe! Great service, great holiday ambiance, and great food for a Christmas dinner. We've been traveling all week and Pismo Beach was our stop for Christmas. Cypress Beach House is located inside the Inn at the Pier Hilton Hotel. Hostess was welcoming and server was attentive. We ordered the roasted Mary's chicken breast, French onion soup, and seafood risotto (off the holiday menu). Aside from the risotto being a tad underdone (too al dente), everything was very well seasoned and delicious. read more

Came here on a Monday night with a group of colleagues. Staff were very nice about accommodating our group which grew bigger. Nice outdoor weather with heater/fire pits all around. I ordered the crab cake (so delicious with the sauce) and the seascape cocktail (perfect balance). Colleagues ordered their chicken, pork chop, onion soup, charcuterie board, and garlic bread, and it did not disappoint. The only thing was that we waited quite a while, at least 30 minutes, for our first couple of orders to come out. However, overall, great food, drinks, and vibe with the beach view. read more

Located inside the Inn at The Pier hotel, this place had some good breakfast when I checked them out during my stay at the hotel. Ordered the Brioche French Toast and Crispy Potatoes and for $30 bucks this meal was SO GOOD. The brioche was of great quality and incredibly soft. I could taste the orange and vanilla notes in the batter and it was so good. The crispy potatoes were SO CRISPY. I loved them. Would have to rate my meal a solid 8.5 out of 10. Came by around 4 pm on a Sunday after listening to some live music at Dinosaur Park. This place has happy hour.daily, even on weekends. Place wasn't busy and there were plenty of seats at the bar. Had a few beers and their Truffle Parmesan Fries. Fries came out timely and were prepared as requested (well done / crispy). Service was friendly. My husband have been here many times and we always have a good cocktail or two sometimes dinner depending on occasion but tonight I was definitely disappointed going in for a night cap and the bartender said she already did last call and we got there at 10:25 which would give us 35 minutes to have one drink so I asked what time they close and she said 11 which I've never had a bartender turn me away before but regardless her facial reaction, it said it all and I think it's rude to not take in customers until closing time if you can't take customers then close at 9 maybe 10! read more

We stayed at the Inn at the Pier so ate here a few times. First time was cocktails and crostinis. I had a Sunday in Amalfi cocktail, tasted like a boozy lemonade. The crostinis come in several choices, all of the three we had were good, with very generous toppings. Another evening my husband had a burger and he really enjoyed it. Both times he had the ice cream sandwich, one of his favorite desserts. The chocolate chip cookies with the sandwich were quite yummy. The seating is a little odd with the pool in the middle but the view of the ocean is beautiful. We also loved how they have umbrellas on wheels which made them easy to adjust to the evening sun. Only drawback is that the service can be a bit slow and prices were a bit high, not surprising for a hotel. read more

To service was okay, but the drinks were weak. As others have stated, they were definitely weak. And the lemon drop was not even filled to the top. The amaretto sour which is one of my favorite drinks, I could tell did not have amaretto liqueur in it and you can even tell by the color. I would recommend going elsewhere to grab a drink. Wooly's makes nice strong drinks which is about a two minute walk away. read more

They also messed up my friends order, she expressed her dietary restrictions and they still brought her the wrong item so she had to wait even longer than I did. This restaurant is located in the 3rd floor of a hotel called Inn at the Pier. We had $30 meal credit for being hilton members so we decided to take advantage and try their restaurant. The burger was not your "regular" bistro burger. Im a fan of spicy food. And this burger said it was going to have a smokey sauce but instead of smoke it was straight up spicy and had really sweet pickles on it. Just didn't taste right together. Plus i normally like thousand island but the spice with this wasn't flattering. At least the fries were good! The atmosphere is really nice though. Only rooftop dining in pismo with a full service bar. I would just recommend if your looking for casual food , this isn't it. Definitely more on the fancy side. read more

The food took a while to come out, just like my cousin coming out of the closet. Anyways It seemed like it was just one guy running the food for the whole place. Poor dude was juggling the pans back there. It felt really understaffed. But the server Tarynn low key saved their rear end. She was trying her hardest to make up for it and she did very well. Very quick and helpful, & had a nice smile. Tarynn was very refreshing! like a ice cold lemonade on a hot sunny day. Shes the reason I left this review cause of the lil paper QR code note she left. Also I noticed this other really nice server named Cypris who checked in on us which was great. Definitely can use some more help but theres no lack of effort from the servers. Killer Aperol Spritz and can't beat the rooftop view! Tons of seating options upstairs and a few fire pits to help combat the chilly sea breezes. The lobby bar was also a good experience. I loved being about to sit outside but up to the window. Gave the best of both worlds and the bartenders were very attentive and made awesome drinks. This place looks like it'll be great. In reality, the place is understaffed, poorly managed, nasty, and just....disappointing. Came twice. First time was for drinks before dinner. We went to the bar/lounge area which was probably seating about 15 or so people. No acknowledgment we were there. No menus or anything to see what the offered cocktails were. There was no server in the area at all. We had to wait, awkwardly, behind the server area, after waiting behind the folks seated at the bar and receiving zero acknowledgment from the bartenders forever. During this time, there were two hostesses standing around the greeting area doing nothing, and at least three other staff members walking around aimlessly also apparently doing nothing. Half an hour later...we had a bleh drink that cost 18 each, and the only reason we didn't drink and dash is because we literally stood up at the service area of the bar, handed them our card, and reminded them what we ordered. Second time, we came for a late brunch. There were probably around 15 folks in the entire restaurant and bar area. We sat at the bar to watch football. I ordered well bloody Mary's but was charged for their special bloody (my bloody had none of the upsellers, like bacon, celery, higher quality vodka). My boyfriend ordered the short rib hash. It came in a tiny portion. Overly greasy, zero flavor. All potatoes with three greasy chunks of short rib. No sauce. Egg tasted old and rubbery. My asparagus Benedict had a dribble of sauce. Potatoes tasted like they had been sitting in a chafing dish at a buffet for hours. Eggs tasted both overcooked and cold. Best thing on the plate was the four asparagus pieces. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Or bring your own and enjoy the fires. read more

This is located on the rooftop of the Inn at the Pier hotel with a beautiful view of the pier and water. If you stay at the inn, then it is super convenient to come here. I came here for a late night drinks and breakfast. They have the gas fires going during the night time and the drinks were tasty, however for breakfast the service wasn't that great on a Sunday morning. We waited a long time for a server to come and our food took a while, but the food kind of made up for it because it was so good. read more

Went here for a drink and wanted to check out the Roof Top Bar. Easy access through the lobby gets you to the top. It's a pretty cool set up that they have up there. Beautiful views. The person who sat me and ended up serving us was a little blunt and pushy. Not the worst but a little annoying. The beer selection was a little weak and they were out of the one I wanted. My wife had a couple mixed drinks and she said they were good but a little weak. Usually as locals we get treated a little better. I think we will come back and try the food and see if we get a better vibe. Hopefully we do and I can update this to a 4 or 5 star review. read more

Iv been coming to get drinks and appetizers here for years and the service has never been as bad as now. The bartender Polly was extremely rude. What bothered me the most was how she would bad mouth customers to her coworkers when they would leave, I heard her do this multiple times. She bursted out inappropriate comments the entire hour I sat at her bar. I was shocked by her behavior. She was also extremely messy while making cocktails. She was not friendly and did not greet us when we approached the bar and I saw her do the same to other customers. That is not the type of customer service experience you expect in Pismo when you are looking to relax and have an enjoyable time and she should not be the face of an establishment. I would recommend any other bar in Pismo aside from this one if you want friendly staff and good service. read more
