Our lunch was delicious and came out quickly. We had the fish tacos and turkey avo sandwich. The service was great! John was our server, and he was very polite and responsive. Solid restaurant overlooking the Sa Luis Bay. Great views from inside and out on the patio. This was our second time in and the food and service were excellent. It was very busy and did not have a reservation. They were able to get us a window seat inside and it was perfect! Our server Kylee was great! Always checking on us and making sure our coffee and water was filled. I had the Steak and eggs. Steak was cooked perfectly and the eggs came as ordered. My wife had the Avocado toast with an added egg. She loved it! She also got the Market Greens. It had shaved fennel and it was very tasty. My son had the Steak Frites and the Steak was cooked perfectly Medium Rare and the Fries were slender and crispy, yum! We also ordered a plate of the Salmon Benedict. Came here for dinner on weekday without reservation. They were pretty busy but we were able to get a booth seat for two in like 15 minutes. Next time we'll try to do a reservation so we can sit outside for better ocean views. Our waiter was super friendly and checked in with us frequently and gave great recommendations. We ordered the Caesar salad, their squash app and the branzino fish to share. The Caesar salad was very fresh and the squash was a nice hearty side with their tomato based sauce. The branzino was my favorite with a perfect crisp to the fish skin topped with this butter cream over their cous cous and green beans. I definitely would order the fish again. Tried out Westerly in Shell Beach this week. The food was solid, the views are hard to beat, and the overall vibe has a lot of potential. Since they're still new, the service is finding its footing, but the staff was friendly and doing their best. The real entertainment of the evening wasn't on the menu--it was the lady at the next table who seemed determined to file a complaint about literally everything. Water too wet, sun too bright, ocean too ocean-y... you get the idea. Overall, a good first experience. Give them some grace as they work out the kinks. Meet 4 friends for lunch and also took my 9 year old granddaughter. Not sure what happened but they did not have our reservation for 6 on the patio. Luckily they were able to accommodate us, as one of the girls had her dog. Absolutely one of the best views in Pismo and even though it was hot, we had shade and a nice breeze. No one was real hungry, so ice teas, etc. One had a cup of clam chowder another had a bowl and they both loved. Another one had Caesar salad, one eggs plus fries, granddaughter had fries and chicken strips. I had the Little Gem wedge, just right. Would have loved some rolls or bread. Another spot where I would give 10 stars if I could!!! We were greeted right away, asked if we had a reservation (we didn't) & was told they had outdoor seating if we wanted 2 b seated immediately. We choose outdoor seating & what a view!!! It's on the edge of a cliff so the ocean was right there. Only issue was that it was a tad chili & there wasn't any heating lamps. Our waitress was Emily & she was fantastic. We ordered 2 appetizers: hot rolls & butter, and deviled eggs. The hot rolls were a set of 4 w/ an herbed butter, served in a cast iron-yum!!! Deviled eggs came w/ bacon & pickled onions. As I've said many times in my reviews, onions r yucky!! But I tried it anyways, then scooped the onions off & gave 2 my sister. They were delish & creamy. I then ordered the gem wedge & added breaded fried shrimp. And omg, the shrimp was breaded w/ panko & it was soooo good!!! The flavor was delish & the panko breading was perfect w/ crunch!!! I loved the old Spyglass, so was reticent to try the new Westerly. My feeling is very tepid - like not terrible, but really not good enough for me to seek it out again, even though I live close by. VERY small wine and booze pours compared to Spyglass which probably over-did. The only thing we really liked were the home-made (looked like) shoestring fries. Yum. We had a great experience at the Westerly! The atmosphere was lovely with great views of the water. We had an amazing server who was very attentive and friendly. And the food was delicious! We got the garlic roasted Caesar salad to start off. The lettuce was very fresh. For our mains, we got the cappellini pasta and steak frites. Both were delicious. The pasta was good, and the sauce almost had the flavor profile of a homemade tomato soup. Very good! The steak frites were where it was at. If you are going here GET THIS!!! The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. The French fries were to die for, truly! They were crispy and salty, and I couldn't stop eating them. I will say that they were slightly on the salty side so if you are watching your sodium intake, you may want to ask for them lightly salted. As a sodium lover, they were amazing! Along with that she didn't come to ask for waters or anything to drink almost 15 minutes into being sat. As a waitress there is ways to go about managing a busy night. I came to their opening with a private event from Biddle Ranch winery. The restaurant has been remodeled very well. It is run by the group that also has the Oyster Loft and Ventana Grill. Our valet at The Cliffs Resort actually recommended Westerly to us for dinner and we were so very happy to learn of this new restaurant and we were so shocked by the spectacular ocean view and the prices. Formerly Spyglass Restaurant, Westerly has a whole new interior, but they maintained the great outdoor patio seating. We had lunch and the menu was reasonably priced and the food was very good. Service was friendly and excellent. For a restaurant that just opened, we were surprised that things went so well. This is one of the best places to have a cocktail and watch the sunset. I'm a local and was hoping for a great restaurant considering their location. I was disappointed. It's kind of like a Denny's with a view.

View was great, drinks were great, service was great, food was good, could have used a few more fish options.

Food is poor. The fish "IS NOT FRESH". The sound inside is terrible. You can't hear yourself think.
