We had the BEST dinner tonight at Cool Cat Cafe and I just have to rave about it! I ordered the mushroom burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've had in a long time -- so flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the Pony Boy (a pastrami sandwich) -- technically my husband's choice, but it ended up being my favorite! It was that good. The calamari was sooo fresh and perfectly prepared -- everything we had was insanely good. We even ordered a cup of chili and poured it over the fries... and WOW, it was definitely hitting the spot! And it didn't stop there... the real cane root beer, strawberry shake, and the POG mocktail were all SO good too! The customer service was wonderful, the ambiance was a whole vibe, and the food was incredible. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to!

My wife and I ate here on our trip to Pismo Beach. We saw this as we were in town shopping and decided to stop. We got seated very quickly and everybody was very nice and attentive. Love the decorations inside. They also have a little gift shop that is through a connecting hallway that also has an outside door. The menu has a lot on it, and there is bar seating and I love the fresh air feel.

We stopped in the cafe on our road trip. The service was really attentive and fast. The chicken in the sandwich was juicy, the bun was not soggy and the fries were piping hot. I really enjoyed the Bloody Mary as well. The atmosphere was lively and fun. I will definitely stop there again when I'm in town.

Cool Cat Cafe is definitely 5 stars. The location is perfect, right in the mix, surrounded by cool shops and a short walk to the beach. The service is spectacular, the host took us right to our table and we were ordering drinks within a minute. The drinks and appetizers were quick to appear, and then boom, our food was on the table. Quick like that. Everything tasted so good. My California Dreamin' sandwich was killer. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Everyone loved their meals. It was the perfect spot to grab lunch.

Fun upbeat diner right on the Pismo Beach Pier and next to the Hotel we are staying at. We were seated immediately came around 3pm on a Friday afternoon. We ordered a couple drinks while waiting for our appetizers. Quick service and even better Michelada and Peach Keen. Both drinks were great tasting and hit the spot. They do not serve breakfast only lunch and dinner. If you're in the area and can find a parking spot this place is good vibes. All staff were friendly and joking around while eating. Loved this place. Definitely will return when I'm the area.

Amazing vegan option in Pismo! While visiting Pismo for a friend's wedding, it was a little challenging to find food I could have. However, Cool Cat Cafe had a small section of the menu featuring vegetarian selections, including the Elaine La Lanne which is a veggie burger (or beyond patty) on a ciabatta with mixed greens, tomatoes, avocado, and a tropical fruit salsa. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the salsa was out of this world and pulled all the flavors together. Food came fast and was such a fun atmopshere. Great place for classic American diner food with a twist!

Great happy hour, the waiter had good recommendations and the tomato soup with grilled cheese special was really great. Drinks were strong and bites were fun, interior also has a nice ambience to it.

Cool cat was a very cool location with a huge menu of items to choose from. Got their Leader of the pack burger (no sauce) with added side of fries and the Marylin Burger with a side of sweet pineapple. burger and fries cravings satisfied. It's pretty lively and loud for dinner time, we got lucky and only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. This place seems good for large groups though with plenty of seating and TV monitors to enjoy games with good company.

Cool Cat Cafe says it all in the name. The atmosphere is laid back. Reminds me of an old school diner with a great vibe. They specialize in burgers, including the famous "808" for competition eaters. I had a Pismo summer day cocktail and my wife had the "Dulce De Jack" adult milkshake which she enjoyed a lot. For our meals we had the fresh fish tacos (hint: ask for the green salsa for a nice kick). The garlic aioli tasted great. We also tried the Jailhouse Rock burger with mushrooms. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We learned a bit about the 808 burger challenge and how they keep track of the winners. I had a good time while stuffing my face lol. Check it out !

Second time visiting Cool Cat, and we enjoyed it even more than our initial visit. This place just has a vibe that can't be explained. Also, credit for making such a mean steak when you clearly specialize in burgers. This is quickly becoming our go-to for Pismo trips!

Cool Cat Café -- Beachside Vibes with a Flavor Kick Stopped by Cool Cat Café in Pismo Beach with friends for a casual hangout near the beach. Originally came for drinks, but we ended up ordering some snacks and they didn't disappoint. Drinks: Cold beers, served fast. Great way to unwind after a long day. Food: We tried the chips and salsa along with ceviche. Both were surprisingly good fresh, flavorful, and hit the spot. The ceviche had a nice citrusy punch, and the salsa had just enough kick. Service & Atmosphere: Staff were friendly and welcoming. The retro diner vibe mixed with the beachside location made for a chill, laid-back experience. Didn't dive into the full menu this time, but based on the snacks and service, I'd definitely come back to explore more.

Their chowder is good and I felt very buttery in flavor but loaded with clams and potatoes. Just the right thickness to not be gummy but flavorful. I also had the fish sandwich and so glad I did! This was by far the best fish sandwich I've had! The large fillet of wild caught cod was fried perfectly with a light batter and the fish inside was moist and flaky. Served on a bun with lettuce, tomato and a caper dijon dressing that was to die for! Oh my gosh...I'll dream of this sandwich till I have it again, LOL! Note that the parking lot, depending on which day you go, can fill up very quickly. The location is right off of the 101 and easy to find. We checked in and was seated within 10 minutes at a booth that overlooked the beautiful views of the Pismo Beach coast line. Our server, a younger black woman, who told us her nickname was 'TiTi', if I'm not mistaken, was wonderful. Her personality and hospitality was infectious and exceeded 5 stars. She brought us fresh hot corn and flour tortillas with a small cup of brown sugar butter and three different salsas to try. Everything was delicious. We ordered the surf and turf special which was a jumbo shrimp on top of a filet mignon that rested on mash potatoes and a creamy/savory white sauce. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was exceptionally good. My only takeaway would be that I found the food, especially the lobster Mac and cheese to be pretty salty. Definitely excited for my next visit.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.

He had tried it before, so this was my first time here. As I looked over the menu everything sounded good and pics of the food helped me make my final choice for lunch. The service was excellent, the cashier was friendly and patient with us ordering (since it was my first time here). We decided to sit in the patio area since it was nice day, even though there was a little bit of construction noise next door, it didn't take away from hearing the great music selection. Moments later a server brought out the food, everything smelled and looked delicious. He ordered fish N' chips w/upgraded garlic fries, (we love garlic fries!) some of the best garlic fries we've had, every bite was garlicky & dipped in ranch...mmmmm perfect combo. The fish was tender but crispy bites from the batter. I ordered the Pismo wrap (could be shared), I was not expecting it to be so packed with all the fillings. It was stuffed with sliced tri-tip, curly fries, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and bbq sauce. Every bite was so satisfying, flavorful and had a little bit of everything. Some saltiness from the fries to sweetness from the bbq sauce, well balanced (I did add some cholula sauce because I enjoy some spiciness). Definitely added as a stop when doing a day trip to Pismo. I'll be recommending friends/family to make a stop at Hoagies if they're ever in the area and they're looking for a chomp because a bite isn't enough. So after all the shopping/walking, pick up some Hoagies and head to the beach (which is walking distance), because great food deserves a great view!

The counterperson taking my order kept saying lettuce, and I repeated a few times, you mean cabbage, since that's what is written on the menu, and they seemed a bit confused.. But it did come with lettuce, not cabbage (?). Hmm. The fish was okay, but not fried to enough of a crisp, so it was not crunchy. It was also a relatively small amount of cod in the the burrito wrap. I say burrito wrap as the tortilla was pretty thick and barely toasted. I did see other patrons sitting at the tables with much toastier-looking wraps, and it looked like the steak wrap came in a wheat tortilla. So is there more than one kind of tortilla? The tartar sauce was middle of the road and there was not enough of it in the wrap for my tastes - I like sauce. But I could not get more for the side, as the line was out the door by the time I discovered I could use more tartar sauce! So while it was fine, and the fish seemed fresh, I was somewhat disappointed, and did not munch this wrap with the zeal that I do the one from the other locale in town where I typically buy the killer cod wrap. The curly fries were good and well salted. Lots of people sitting outside; tables could've been cleaned better. Maybe staff should come out and wipe them down periodically.

It was busy and he was definitely working a large number of tables but at the same time he was attentive and pleasant. Wife had oatmeal with the addition of blueberries and nuts and I chose the hamburger patty with eggs over medium. The oatmeal was good, nothing out of the world and the berries were fresh...she had to ask for the nuts because they didn't come out initially. My breakfast was good...burger was thin and cooked through but not dry and the eggs were almost medium! Served with home fries, which I think were a bit greasy but tasty. Daughter and son-in-law had the strawberry waffle and she said it was tasty, malty, and fresh strawberries (not that gel-like goo some places cover their waffles with) and lots of fresh whip cream. What a great place! Mom and I were staying at the Seacrest…read morehotel just below the restaurant. We decided to give it a try on our first night after we arrived and we weren't disappointed. This is definitely a sports bar and it's huge with TVs everywhere which was awesome because the World Cup was on and the place was packed. We lucked out and got a table next to the window which overlooked our hotel but also the ocean. Service was great and the food was delicious. Here's what we had... Giant soft pretzel - soft, salty and warm. Both the cheese sauce and the mustard were perfect pairings. Love this carbie goodness. Coconut shrimp - this was a little disappointing simply because neither one of us could taste the coconut. It was more like a fried shrimp, which was fine, but nothing memorable. Ahi tuna nachos - this was absolutely the star of the show and the one dish we kept talking about all weekend and would come back for in a heartbeat. The tuna was fresh and delicious. The smoky drizzle on top brought out all of the beautiful flavors piled up on top of crispy wonton chips. This is 100 out of 10 in our book and we will definitely be back to get this again and again.
