There's a water splash area as well as operational steam and diesel model trains. Other amenities include exercise station, picnic areas, a playground and two reservable pavilions. It is as an excellent choice. The kids enjoyed it and the pavilions provided more than adequate shelter. One thing tho just need to make a reservation. It's not first come first serve. They also allowed us to provide and serve our own food.

This is my favorite place to exercise when I need some fresh air. Facts: The walking path is cemented and about 1/3 mile per lap. There are 4 sets of picnic table with standing grill. No public restroom. Has playground with modern slides and safety features Since it's attached to a school ground, it appears to be bigger. 2 tennis courts are not fully caged and they need a little TLC. According to City of Houston, this 7-acre park was acquired in 1958. I can't confirm but almost always true with public parks, picnic tables are first come first serve. There are also smaller covered areas with picnic tables which are first come first served. It has a bathroom which was actually clean and nice inside. This is just one area of the park but there is a huge pond to fish, a large walking trail around the pond on the other side and I've only explored a portion of this park. My kids loved it. The pavilions are covered with ample seating, there's a nice playground nearby for the kids, and lots of open grass for games. The bathrooms are pretty clean and close by. There is also ample parking. We visited in mid October and while it was still pretty hot, the shade of the pavilion makes for a nice day out. We were able to play several games in the nearby grassy area - making sure to drink plenty of water! There are a few trees so it isn't totally open but large enough for group games. There's a ditch area further out that's pretty easy to retrieve balls and frisbees from if they go too far. All in all a solid picnic option!

Now, that was a pleasant surprise for Lulu and me last Saturday. We stayed sitting at one of the tables, watching the games. But there's more here; it's a children's playground, several trails throughout the wooded areas, and the paths are cleared of debris. It's a really clean park, the tables aren't stained. There are plenty of garbage cans throughout. It's plenty of parking; even on Saturday, when the park was packed, we still got a place. I like that the big trees block out more of the sun, giving Lulu more time to enjoy her walks and being nosy. As you can see in the picture, there's a little bookhouse, and I bought some books the other day to drop off. That's the least I can do, my way of apologizing to the ducks and turtles for Lulu barking and wagging her tail at them.

I was hiking alone on a trail once in 2023 and a light green snake rose from the ground and intensely stared at me. This snake was taller than me and I'm 5'6 for reference. The specific trail I was on was connected to the playgrounds. This was a terrifying and honestly traumatic experience; but I wanted to share my experience as a warning because I know lots of people bring their kids and pets there. Please be safe if you choose to go; but no matter how beautiful it is I can't recommend due to safety issues concerning the wilderness. I only walked away from the snake incident unscathed by the grace of God.

It has a dog park near the entrance/exit and lot of parking spaces. There are 2 huge covered area with the middle part being clean restrooms. I also saw some kids bday party taking place under one of the area and there were still places to sit that wasn't in their party. I love that it has turf and also some real grass, perfect for picnicking. But what we really enjoyed was the center of it all, the splash pad. Perfect for hot days and also the fact that they had a truck there selling ice pops and cold treats which made it extra worth it. Huge slides and play house, only downside is when I went the biggest slide wasn't in use. But there are more slides and do much more to do. We had fun and will be back ever so often.

The place is Graffied kinda bad and my 7yr ols daughter announced "Mom theres the F word all over!" Well this place could be nicer but I guess not. The parking lot is hardly big enough and there are huge holes from street turning into drive. There's alot of space. To bad the city doesn't make better use of all this land and give kids a decent park. We didnt get to go to ravine because of rain and Ants crawling up your leg if you tried going down there.
