This is a small independent breakfast spot that serves really good basic American breakfast. I tried the chicken fried steak and eggs with an orange juice. I happen to arrive at a peak hour when every one else in this area seemed to want breakfast as well. So other than the small wait to get a table, once seated, everything arrived smoothly. Both the chicken fried steak and the orange juice were really good. The cfs was handbreaded but not as large as I had wished it would be. The OJ was fresh squeezed. Being a big fan of diners, breakfast dishes and supporting small local businesses, my wife and I wanted to give this new restaurant a try. It sits in a since closed down Japanese sushi bar, so the atmosphere and layout is already better than most typical breakfast diners. The hostess was very friendly and seated us promptly and when she found out it was our first time visiting, she made us feel extra welcome and let us know she was happy to have us with them. The young server, named Star, was also quite friendly and showed us she too, appreciated our visit with a high level of enthusiasm. Star gave us time to look over the great menu and the prices seemed fair as well. My wife had the Classic Breakfast while I asked Star between two similar dishes would bring me the best value for my hard-earned money and she suggested the country skillet and she was spot on. The food looked good and tasted great and our first visit with this little diner was pleasant because the team genuinely showed us kindness and hospitality, which is hard to come by these days. We have grown tired of chain restaurants such as Denny's & IHOP, and House of Pies and Black Walnut have significantly slipped in level of food & service. So as the new kid on the block, we highly recommend giving this new spot a chance. The food was really good. The only problem i had is the pan sausage wad dry and cold. The eggs had no taste so I sent it back and got the ham and fried eggs. The substitution was delicious. Good, fresh food at not bad prices. Service was friendly and they made sure to check that we had everything before we started eating. There is inside and outside seating to accommodate whatever your preference. Its a good home cooked meal. My hashbrowns were good, but I wish they were a little softer and not so crispy. The chicken on top of the biscuit was perfectly fried and the biscuits were lite and went well with the chicken and gravy. Was in search of a new neighborhood breakfast spot and stumbled upon Cypress Sunrise Cafe while browsing Yelp. The few reviews looked promising, so my husband and I gave it a try! The inside was cozy and clean. I loved the color scheme and the countertop seating option. Our server (I can't recall her name), was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the turkey omelette and my husband ordered the Bacado omelette. Both omelettes were great but a different kind of cook - think soufflé texture. It wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting. I appreciated the turkey in my omelette being real shreds of meat instead of the cubed stuff most places use. My husband ordered a glass of orange juice - it was super tasty and fresh, but $5 per glass was a little pricey. We will definitely be back! read more

I have never been to a restaurant where I could not eat my food. I tried it was uneatable. I think the sausage used was spoiled, the pancake was like rubber, and the biscuit was over cooked. Maybe it was an off day and the cook caled in sick, if that was the case they should not have opened the doors. A group of friends that meets for breakfast every week tried this place out for the first time and they said that their experience was terrible. They have not gone back and niether will I. read more

I understand why others have dinged this place due to wait time. I would like to comment on that and the positives. 1. It opened last Monday so this is day six and the young staff is still figuring out their routine. Yes, we waited a very long time, but I am giving them grace - this time. 2. Wasn't a fan of the iced tea. I could tell it was that concentrate stuff. And no Splenda. They need the yellow stuff. And my glass needed ice. 3. We like the atmosphere 100% more than the Flying Biscuit. There was great music playing. Nice and light space. 4. Servers need to know more information about the coffee and be able to answer questions. 5. French toast arrived after our meal was finished. Because of that (and we did not complain) they comped our entire ticket. We did not expect that. They would not let us pay. We gave our servers a $20 tip. That said, the kitchen needs to prepare better to execute orders so that servers can make good tips and build continuity for the restaurant. 6. They offer a vegan burger and salad so I think everyone can find something. 7. I'd prefer iced tea served in a glass and not plastic cup. 8. For those 55 and older, they offer two senior specials for $8.99. 9. They offer several kids meals. 10. They have fresh squeezed OJ - generous portion in a glass. Button line, we will return. I hope others will allow this young restaurant and staff time to work out kinks and be kind. We desperately need this in our neighborhood. read more

Service is slow. We've been 3 times, and each time waited no less than 10 minutes before we were greeted by our server and had our beverage orders taken. This most recent time, we sat and waited while watching 3 servers lean along the bar and chat. Food has been slow to come out each time, and server has been slow or infrequent in checking on us. We typically wait another 10-15 minutes after finishing before we're able to catch the server and ask for the check. It's unfortunate because the food is good, and prices are fair. If you have at least 90 minutes (longer if there is a wait to be seated), it's not a bad spot. read more

First time visiting this new breakfast place. Staff is very friendly and the food well prepared and tasty! I didn't know grits could be that good, lol. I had the traditional bacon and eggs breakfast with a pancake instead of toast. Everything was on point. Definitely will return for breakfast and plan on trying out the lunch menu. I was there with some friends Sunday April 19th after playing tennis nearby. It was my first time and certainly it didn't disappoint. Our server was DJ (I don't know how to spell it but it sounded like DJ she assured us). I had the corned beef hash and it had a great flavor. However, I'll need to come back and have their traditional Albanian or Serbian cuisine. Abyl (owner) was kind enough to share information of the background of his food and restaurant. Ajvar - condiment. Such a earthy and incredible flavor. I also tried Qebapa and I know it'll be my next plate when I go. First time to this place. It's right across from my neighborhood which is really nice. I am pretty pickie about breakfast, and set a high bar. I am an early riser, so opening at 6:00 a.m. is a big plus from me. Customer service was great (nice and polite and not constantly bothering me). I went right to my booth, within less than 2 minutes someone took my drink order and it was out within a minute. Food showed up call it 5-7 minutes and it was good. I asked for crispy bacon and it wasn't burnt like some places when you ask for that. It was cooked perfect. Good pancakes, and eggs were cooked correctly. Pricing is comparable to anyplace else. It was a nice environment as well. Music wasn't too loud nor was anything else. I expect noise, but I also like to enjoy my meal in peace. I do recommend it!
