This is a nice little breakfast-and-lunch spot with excellent prices and friendly service. The updated space now has air-conditioning and a nice fan, which makes it much more comfortable. My husband loved the flavorful Philly cheesesteak, though it was a little greasy. The cheese sticks were tasty, while the fries were just okay. Out of everything he ate he said the cheese sticks were the best because they had a nice flavor and texture in the batter had a good seasoning. I tried a breakfast taco without eggs or meat; it was decent, but next time I'll try with the shredded hash browns instead of home fries. The toast and sweet tea were both good, although the tea could be a bit sweeter . Vegetarian and vegan options are limited, and there's only one fryer, so be mindful of cross-contamination. CC's is a breakfast and lunch diner in Tomball. Outside there is plenty of parking available in front and inside it's an old school table service country eatery where you can come to get some down home cooking. Recently I had lunch there for my first visit. Since they are known for the chicken fried steak, I ordered it with sides of mashed potatoes and green beans for $13.75. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes. The CFS was 6 oz. with a lot of crust. I liked it taste wise but it had more crust than I prefer. The creamy gravy was delicious and I enjoyed it on the CFS and mashed potatoes which were also very good. Finally the green beans had bacon and cooked onions in it which of course made them tasty. The table service was warm and friendly. It was a good meal and I must get back soon to try a couple of other entrees on their menu. read more

OK, we're here again on our second visit after coming here from yesterday. Today we did their lunch. Its wonderful. We start off with the fried mushrooms.... It was euphoric. Big fat fresh fried mushroom with ranch. I got six mushrooms for six dollars.....No. That will be the last time I ever get their mushrooms. I'll be dreaming about them....but I will NOT pay a dollar per mushroom. I ordered the club sandwich and it was spot on delicious. My son ordered the chicken fried steak. It was better than Goodson's. Big, fat steak with homemade cream gravy. Next time I come by, I'm gonna try the chicken fried chicken. Everything was delicious. The servers are excellent. My sister in love told me about this breakfast spot (she knows I absolutely love breakfast ALL day). My husband and I selected this one out of the two she gave us in Tomball because it looked larger. We were greeted at the door and it was actually held open for us (my husband is using a walker right now). He ordered Sausage, eggs, toast and grits (I forget the meal name) and I ordered a single blueberry pancake, bacon and eggs over medium. Bacon was limp and tasteless, eggs were over soft and the pancake was cooked to fast as it was hard and shiny on top but I saw batter on the inside. The waitress noticed I didn't eat my food and asked if I wanted the eggs redone, I said no as it was too late. My husband said his grits and eggs were fine. I'm not sure how long CC's has been there, but clearly a while. If you're into the fancy places with table clothes and black or white napkins depending on the color of your slacks, this ain't your place. This is about good southern home food. I went with one of their lunch specials, the dbl meat n cheese burger n fries. While waiting, I viewed the room and plates of food the waitresses were bringing out and it all looked good. This is just a good old school cafe. CFS, mashed potatoes,fried okra - all your local favorites your mama or grandma made for ya as a kid. The burger was just the right size for. Even took half home. Fries were "hand cut" - hot n crispy. Good 50/50 sweet tea. Breakfast menu loos good. A guy next to me had an order of French toast with his lunch. They're open from 6a-2p. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. You know how you remember a place, because in your memories it was awesome and delicious and so you block out anything bad? (Thanks, Brain!). I'm wondering if the service was this bad the last time we were here and that's why we haven't been back in a long time. Or, is this just a new thing and, hopefully, a one time mishap? Well, I'm hoping the food is still as home-cooked delicious as I recall from years ago, but the service is (looks up antonyms for service): faulty, in disrepair, useless. We came around 12 on a Sunday, and you could see the place was busy. The tiny anteroom has 3-4 couples piled in (it was cold outside, so no one wanted to wait outside the front door). About 4 people in front of us, and I told the hostess we would be sitting in our car (parked two spots from the front door) "Would you like our phone number?" "No, well just yell your name out loud." Fifteen minutes pass, no name called and no one stuck their head out the door. (We had our window rolled down and could see the front door) I come back inside and can see on the list our name has been crossed out and several other names added below. We finally get a table, and are ignored. We watch the threesome seated after us get menus, drink service, and an order taken before we even receive a menu. Then we wait. And wait some more. Finally get waters (one straw for two people). And wait again. I'm starting to contemplate leaving - and finally we get our orders taken. I'm all for supporting the local joint, and we're on the hunt for an early open breakfast place during the week (kudos for yall being open at 6am) but if this is the level of service we can expect? There's no way we'd make this a usual haunt. read more

This is my first time at this establishment. It's like taking a step back in time to The old Tomball. They have memorabilia all over the walls of the railroads and times that we have forgotten. We both ordered burgers. I ordered the California burger with bacon. It was delicious wouldn't add or take away anything about it. My husband had the hickory burger. Was able to snag a little bite and it was very savory. I always am a little bit hard on places when it has anything to do with an onion ring. Because I was raised in the restaurant industry and know how easy it is to make a good onion ring. And let me tell you these people know the secret. Which is refreshing. This is such a GREAT small, locally owned cafe. And our server, Connie, truly made the "neighborhood" experience perfect with her friendly service, smile, and she knows the whole menu! You just don't get service like that anymore. The cafe has a fun railroad them with wall deco and nostalgic items throughout the cafe. And the food - it was just like Grandma made... large servings, cooked to order, and good food made with real ingredients (no fake, carton eggs here). While staying with my wife's brother during our house hunting trip, we had some free time and went into downtown Tomball in search of breakfast. We stumbled upon CC's Café and had a simple but delicious breakfast. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros: Two eggs, homemade salsa, refried beans, hashbrowns and tortillas. Exactly the flavor and taste that I wanted that morning. My wife went for the Western Scramble Plate: Scrambled eggs, with ham, bell peppers, tomato and onion with hash browns and wheat toast with she thoroughly enjoyed. Great food, great service and great prices. When we move into the area, we will definitely make it a point to stop back into C C's Café for another great breakfast. read more
