Half cooked Blueberry Pancake, runny eggs and bacon
    Lorrie D.

My sister in love told me about this breakfast spot (she knows I absolutely love breakfast ALL day). My husband and I selected this one out of the two she gave us in Tomball because it looked larger. We were greeted at the door and it was actually held open for us (my husband is using a walker right now). He ordered Sausage, eggs, toast and grits (I forget the meal name) and I ordered a single blueberry pancake, bacon and eggs over medium. Bacon was limp and tasteless, eggs were over soft and the pancake was cooked to fast as it was hard and shiny on top but I saw batter on the inside. The waitress noticed I didn't eat my food and asked if I wanted the eggs redone, I said no as it was too late. My husband said his grits and eggs were fine. His sausage, I sampled a piece, although greasy had a nice spicy bite of flavor. He had coffee but said it was watered down. I Would not return.

Lunch special dbl meat dbl cheese burger n fries.

Headed from Katy to Montgomery passing thru Tomball and it was lunch time so to Yelp I looked. Saw C C's Cafe. Good reviews and pics of the type joints I like. I'm not sure how long CC's has been there, but clearly a while. If you're into the fancy places with table clothes and black or white napkins depending on the color of your slacks, this ain't your place. This is about good southern home food. I went with one of their lunch specials, the dbl meat n cheese burger n fries. While waiting, I viewed the room and plates of food the waitresses were bringing out and it all looked good. This is just a good old school cafe. CFS, mashed potatoes, fried okra - all your local favorites your mama or grandma made for ya as a kid. The burger was just the right size for. Even took half home. Fries were "hand cut" - hot n crispy. Good 50/50 sweet tea. Breakfast menu loos good. A guy next to me had an order of French toast with his lunch. They're open from 6a-2p. Can't wait to try their breakfast next trip thru.

Very family friendly and the decor was well done. They offer a small bar in the front as you enter the restaurant for those who might want appetizers and watch a game and hangout. They appear to have a private room off to the side that holds about 50 people that they offer with a guarantee that you will spend a certain amount of money. We would def try again when we are in the area. Nice job Pecos Grilling Co. Wish you lots of success and lots more visitors to come your way. You are doing things right.

I re-asked several different ways and finally got what I was looking for! We waited about 5 minutes. We ordered a drink at the bar and then got sat. Once sat, our waitress acknowledged us about 3-5 minutes later. We ordered 2 waters, a coke and cheese sticks. The coke came first. The cheese sticks about 5 minutes later, then the water about 10 minutes later. Our waitress stopped by before the water got there to see if we were ready to order. We didn't even have water yet! The place was pretty busy. Our waitress just struggled to keep up with her tables. There was another waitress who was more experienced that jumped in and helped us. We finally were able to order our dinner. The cook, or someone, came out to tell us they were out of the cut of meat we ordered. This was a disappointment because we were here to celebrate my other half's birthday. So it wasn't off to a great start. We picked something else and by the time we got our food, it was cold. (Can you hear the heavy sigh?) The manager offered to take care of my meal, but I'm not about getting a free meal. I ended up letting him give us a discount. He was very nice and really tried to make things right. So, with all the things that went wrong, I am willing to give this place a try again.

I ordered the double patty burger adding a 1/2 order of fries and a small chili too. By the way this is a table service restaurant. They say the individual beef hamburger patties are 1/3 lb. but they sure look more like 1/4 lb. in weight to me because they are really thin. You probably want to get two like I did. The burger was tasty and I enjoyed it. Also the french fries are homemade and taste like it. Why can't more restaurants have fries like these rather than the frozen out of the bag kind? The 1/2 order size is large enough for 2 people to share. Finally their chili here is legit. Yummy! There is no doubt that this is a quality burger and fries eatery. Add in the chili and you will be happy when you dine here. My only negative is the price. No combos here so you pay list price for each item. With my double burger, 1/2 order of fries, small chili, drink, tax and tip my lunch was about $30. Yikes!

Pet Peeve 2 all the prices rang up a dollar or two higher than the menu prices. It's a short menu, it's only two pages long. Second fact, prepare to wait. Maybe one chef back there hand wrangling each burger or sandwich by hand. Third fact there's about six tables with comfortable chairs and the rest have hard plastic chairs. so if you are coming at a busy time, you aren't going to have a padded seat. Countering these irritations is the fact that the food is actually really really good. It is simple fare, but really well done. The potato soup hovered just on the soup side of the line between potato soup and mashed potatoes, but had fresh crispy bacon and scallions added right before serving. The roast beef sandwich had sliced roast freshly from the oven just for this sandwich. So we got five star food but the rest of the package doesn't add up for me. I'm going to give it four.

I happened to get the last serving from the pot, so they hooked it up with a little extra instead of letting it go to waste, which I definitely appreciated. What really stood out was how hearty it was. There was way more protein than you'd expect from a typical soup, so it was actually filling and satisfying, not just something light on the side.
