Burger with macaroni and cheese topping.
    Colleen B.

We were a party of six, 4 adults and 2 kids so we had a variety of food. Service was good, very friendly young woman at the front. The youngest got a kid meal which was a grilled cheese sandwich with French fries. My daughter got the very special burger with macaroni and cheese and an onion ring. It does require a fork to eat. My son got a spicy chicken sandwich which was excellent and I got onion rings. They were very good. My oldest grandson got a burger and the middle grandson got cheese fries.

I've had a lot of burgers in my lifetime. This one was just a regular burger for me personally it was lacking a bit of flavor even with the sauce they add on. I did like the fact that they were halal grass fed burgers --and they were huge. I also tried the Parmesan truffle fries, which were OK a little smaller than I would've liked. The service was good. It's tucked away in a little plaza. Overall it wasn't bad. I just wouldn't go out of my way to come back here.

Food- top notch! Made to order, fresh ingredients, flavor profiles that do not disappoint. This was our first time going, and we will definitely be back! Also, huge plus that it was open late. Dining area very clean and spacious. I see them adding more tables in the future.

Why 4 stars? Because I was craving a solid burger and that's what I got here. --- --- --- The menu here is really strong: I legitimately wanted to try more than half the menu. While I was really tempted by the truffle burger, I'm a sucker for BBQ burgers, so that's what I opted for, and I really enjoyed it. It did not cause me to be overwhelmed with convulsions because it was so amazing, but it was a hit-the-spot burger. I actually really enjoyed the brisket fries too. I almost just opted for regular fries, but I got those for my son so I could at least try some in their OG form. It turns out: fries are much better with brisket and all the fixins. Who knew? We visited at 1pm on a Sunday, and for the first 15 minutes or so, we were the only people in the restaurant. That bummed me out and I intended to include in my review that people need to support this local business! But as it turns out, a massive party of people walked in around the same time, so I feel a lot better about Urban Skillets' prospects. But still, support them, people of the Willowbrook area!

Really damn good burger. Same price as a basic Whataburger. Come on! No brainer!

As Californians who recently moved to Tomball, we've been on the hunt for a quality burger joint--something beyond the all-too-familiar taste of Whataburger. After what felt like an endless search, we stumbled upon Urban Skillet in Cypress, and let me just say: game changer. This place serves up gourmet burgers at the same price you'd pay for a standard fast food meal, but the difference in quality is night and day. You can taste the freshness--juicy beef patties, cooked to order, perfectly seared, and topped with real ingredients. And get this--grilled onions at no extra charge. That alone already tells you they care more about flavor than upcharges. Everything about our experience screamed quality and care, from the seasoned fries to the soft buns that hold up with every bite. It's a reminder that burgers don't have to be basic--they can be bold, rich, and satisfying without costing more. Thank you, Omar!! Texas folks: you need--no, you must--try this place for yourselves. If you've forgotten what a real burger tastes like, Urban Skillet will remind you.

My rating is what it is because there's room to grow, but I'm happy to support more halal restaurants in Houston! They have a few locations established in California, but since this is the first Houston location, it still seems to be getting its feet on the ground. The brand owner was friendly, but service felt a bit mixed. The signage is also hard to see from the street, but I heard they might try to have it fixed so it will be more visible. They have plenty of options on the menu, and their burgers are generously filled and super messy to eat. I opted to try their Original Skillet Burger. It was filled with tasty ingredients like burger sauce and caramelized onions, but I felt that most of the flavor came from the toppings rather than the meat itself, which was almost tough. The burger bun also felt too cool to the touch when I picked it up, which was surprising. They have great marketing, so since their food photos were so beautiful my expectations might have been a bit too high. The sides are pricy, but the portions were generous. My friend really enjoyed the Truffle Banger and the Buffalo Chicken Fries. Interior is spacious and clean, but overly warm on a summer night; music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation. The hiccups I encountered seem like pretty easy fixes, so I'll be sure to give this place another try in case I just happened to come on an off day. - Ambiance: 3/5 - Food: 3/5 - Service: 3/5

Had dinner here for the first time. Man we have been missing out. This was amazing. We both had the eggcellent burger. 2 good size smash patties, over easy egg, urban sauce, pickles and lettuce on a Brioche Bun. Best burger I've had in a long time. We got the brisket fries and loaded tots. Both are large enough to feed a family of 4. Service was great. They had a few large TVs and a nice patio out front. We will definitely be back.

Everything was great! Food, service, atmosphere! Definitely recommend! Had the original skillet and skillet fries!

Buffalo Wings and urban skillet burger

The food was good, we ordered the urban skillet, the wings were good they just really needed sauce they had almost none, the sweet potato fries were good. 1 burger, 6 piece wings, 1 sweet potato fry, 2 waters and 1 soda it came out to be $38. They only have bottled drinks in a mini fridge, no fountain drinks or ice machine which is okay but if you're paying $14 for a burger the least you could expect is some ice to be available. Theres no napkins on the tables or shakers or condiments. It just feels really empty inside. The employee who took our order was nice. Overall the food was good but not enough to come back especially for the price. $1 extra for jalapeños is crazy in a restaurant who doesn't have an ice machine.

The food is spectacular! The original skillet burger tasted like a really good homemade burger but a thinner patty. The brisket fries were cooked amazingly. Just enough sauce and brisket without drowning the fries. I split my burger with my 6 year old daughter and she knocked it down! Can drinks so be ready for that caveat. We will definitely be back!

Just visited Urban Skillet on Grant road. Our 3rd time to visit. Great burgers and flies. Staff is friendly and courteous.

Great burgers and fries. Highly recommended. Staff is friendly and courteous. On Grant road

    Eggcelent Burger ..

Ordered for taket out .. was ready before the time stated so that was great . However $4.50 for the amount of fries they give is a little crazy. Would try again

I love a good cheeseburger and I wanted to love this place so bad! The guy that took my order was very helpful and they have a variety of burgers made with different types of cheese, toppings, and condiments. The establishment had a nice atmosphere with a menu that includes classic cheeseburgers as well as unique and other gourmet options. It was like $50 for 2-double cheeseburgers, 1 kids single burger, and 1 order of fries ( one double cheeseburger was incorrectly made after we repeated the order 3 times) $9.50 for a kids single meat burger only w/o fries n drink. I was still hungry eating the burger too, which wasn't cool after spending $50 for 3 burgers and an order of fries. The burger was decent but not spectacular. I was still hungry immediately after I finished my burger. I'll give them 3 stars for not correctly taking my order and not feeling me up.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. Decent amount of tables and good parking situation outside

To start off with a positive, I thought the falafel patty had a really great taste and was absolutely the highlight of the burger. But outside of that the burger and the toppings I ordered just didn't work as well as I would've liked. I ordered my burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions, both toppings I know I absolutely love from making burgers at home and from other spots, but neither added much. At first I was worried that the falafel was overpowering them both but upon eating them by themselves they just lacked taste. We also got the scallion aioli on the burger and I never got a hint of it at any point. All in all, the burger was very much mediocre outside of the patty. We also got fries with the burger and while they absolutely had some potential they were extremely over seasoned. Any appreciation for the seasonings in a vacuum was immediately overshadowed by how salty they were. We also ordered the Sambal Mayo as a dipping sauce and while it did help subdue the insane salt level and overall tasted quite good, upon writing this review I found out by looking at their online menu that it contained some amount of shrimp. This information is nowhere to be seen on the ordering slip and wasn't mentioned when I handed it over to the person working at the cash register. And while I definitely accept some level of responsibility for not doing my due diligence and asking or letting them know of my dietary restrictions, it's still an extremely frustrating thing to have happen as both a vegetarian and someone with a mild shellfish allergy. If for whatever reason the online menu is out of date or I missed an obvious indication of it containing shrimp somewhere I am more than happy to edit my review.
