I love Cyr Lumber. I go there more often not for lumber but for hardware. They have a huge ACE Hardware store right on site. This is closer for me to go to than the Homo Depot and I can always find someone to assist me if I can not find something myself. I think this is a family owned business which I certaily try to support more than the big boxes. THey have all kinds of hardware and building supplies, bird seed, rock salt, snow shovels, sheds, a kitchen and bath design center right on site. They basically have young girls at their store coordinate third-party independent contractors. The workers show up when they feel like it, often leaving gaps of several days with no work. There is no communication between each contractor and no project oversight. So be prepared to clean up afterwards and call their office with loose ends continously. We went to Cyr on the recommendation of my sister who had her kitchen remodel done by Cyr. We were remodeling a kitchen, the master bath and adding a half bath within a very limited footprint. I worked with Gail from the Tilton store who did an excellent job in finding the best floor plan - a vast improvement over what our architect had recommended. Gail was very helpful in helping not only with the design, but the right materials/suggestions based on my color preferences and budget. The contractors were all excellent and the workmanship is high quality. We did have some issues around the scheduling, which ultimately worked out. The issue arose when the scheduler was leaving and the communication gaps while bringing on a couple of new people. Despite the bumps along the way, we are enjoying our beautiful new kitchen and baths. I would definitely recommend Cyr in the future and would use them again in future remodels. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Just spent 18K on a new Deck with AZEK rails and gates. Cyr ordered the wrong Gate kits and wont take them back. They then ordered new gates kits for Azek but only for square balusters. My deck is all round balusters. Its costing me a fortune. They will tell you it MAY work. Customer should not pay the price for their mistake. Builder has to continually do more work thus costing me money. My builder swore he will never do an AZEK deck again. I agree. Pros: plenty of selection Cons: Expensive I was looking at buying Aura Exterior paint. $85 a gallon? I understand excellent quality paint is pricey, but that's a rip off! Won't special order. The paint guy said his boss doesn't special order. What they have in stock is what they sell. Safety - The paint guy wasn't wearing a mask when talking with me. And he wasn't the only one not wearing a mask. The cashier who was checked me out didn't wear one or even have one around her register. read more

Do not use Cyr for any building projects. Six months ago, I purchased all my Anderson windows through Cyr Lumber who came out and measured for the order. When the windows arrived two were the wrong size and one was beige and the rest white. I contacted the sales representative who informed me, it was my fault the windows did not fit since I approved the measurements they did. When asked about why one beige window, he had no explanation but refused to take back any of the windows. I contacted the owners, who referred me to Paul who has yet to return my four calls. I also went to the store asking for Paul or the owner and no one was available to discuss returning the windows. Finally, out of desperation I just ask that they pick up the windows so they don't stay in my garage since, I had to order 3 more windows from another lumber company who measured correctly and ordered all the same color of windows. Cyr wouldn't even remove the useless windows from my garage. I ended up donating the 2 windows to Habitat for Humanity. A $3,000 loss for me. I bought some Anderson paint and had to repaint the one beige window white. Beware do not utilize this company for any building project. read more

They couldn't figure out how to deliver cabinets as they were delivered damaged several times. This caused severe delays. I cannot recommend Cyr Lumber Kitchen and Bath in Windham or Manchester, NH. Our kitchen remodel has been a terrible experience and we just wish it was over at this point. We regret our decision to give our business to Cyr Lumber and warn others to learn by our mistake. Cyr came in strong on pricing and created the illusion of providing quality merchandise and service. "WE HANDLE EVERYTHING FROM SOUP TO NUTS" was their claim. I will not comment on the quality of the products that they sell because we did agree to purchase them. What I do have a problem with is the complete lack of customer care shown by Cyr Lumber and their contractors. The person who sold us our kitchen and who IN THEORY should be in charge of the project has been totally unresponsive and impossible to deal with. He routinely ignores voice mail and email and only responds when he feels the need to attempt to placate us due to his continued nonperformance. Cyr Lumber's contractors have caused damage to our home and possessions, been negligent in securing the property during extended absences and they have been onsite for only about 20% of the available workdays. They have collectively been absent for 5 consecutive days and the only common thread is the project"manager"/sales person. He is either unable or unwilling to manage Cyr Lumber's contractors and employees and they take full advantage of his weakness. Installations are not completed as agreed between the homeowners, contractors and Project "manager". Rather, the contractors do as they please with no apparent repercussions or corrective actions. Customer requests and inquiries are constantly being ignored. Some of the Cyr employees and contractors have been professional, personable, helpful and have done a great job for us. Unfortunately, they have been in the minority and the negative, overall experience has far outweighed these positives. We have been informed exactly ONCE of the next days planned activities in spite of repeated pledges by the project "manager" to provide this information on a daily basis. When the contractors do show up, it is at their convenience with generally no regard for the homeowner. Again, this has been a 100% regrettable experience and Cyr Lumber Kitchen and Bath is the absolute worst customer SERVICE company that I have had the misfortune of dealing with. Please do not be tricked into a contract with them. They will not deliver on their commitments and you will be left frustrated and disappointed, as we have. read more

Waited another 2 weeks for estimate. Well after stating we couldn't go over $10,000 their final price was $21,000 with $15,000 of that in labor alone for a 5'x6' bathroom! Our experience with Cyr Lumber was great! We went in with a budget in mind and we were able to stay within that budget. We did have an add on that was unexpected but required due to city code. It also made our home safer which is always a good thing. The end result is that we have a beautiful kitchen that is now opened up to the rest of our home. The cabinets are beautiful and the work done by all of the contractors was exactly what we wanted and our home was left neat and clean at the end of each day.. We worked with Chris in Manchester who put together the design as well as with Janelle out of Windham who managed the project. Both were responsive to all questions and immediately responded to emails (even when Janelle was on vacation!) We would absolutely use them again. read more

The products the used were good but the whole project went bad. Our designer, was Camila Smith and the project manager was Janelle DeCoste.  Both were great to work with.  They were both very attentive.  Whenever I emailed Janelle, I must say within an hour (if not less) I always had a response.  If there was a problem and I required her to come to the house, she and Bill were always there before my husband left for work.    Camila was a delight to work with from the time she came to our house the first time to the end of the project. Her ideas and design knowledge were great.  She was also able to tell us what design would work and what would not.  She too was very attentive and responded within an hour, (even on weekends  occasionally when my mind would have thoughts running through them and I would email her with questions,  she would take the time to respond).  Every week I got an email from her to follow up to see how things were going.    I loved the fact that Janelle sent us an email prior to the work beginning to tell us on a weekly basis for 7 weeks what would be happening each week along with an email the week or day before to tell us who would be at our house.   Your contractors, for the most part, were great and tried to treat my house as a home and not a job site.    I would gladly recommend your company and people. read more

Buyer Beware! I am in the midst of a nightmare kitchen renovation with Cyr Lumber. I opted for Cabico Cabinetry, which is one of Cyr's top cabinet lines. Cabico is definitely expensive, but I was comfortable with the price point knowing I was getting a quality product. Sadly, that couldn't be further from the truth. My cabinets were initially installed 8 weeks ago and many came damaged with cracks/chips from the factory or incurred during transit. While this did not happen during installation, I still consider this to be Cyr's responsibility to make right as they are the distributor. My only option was to order new cabinets, which took 4 weeks to manufacture. So my kitchen could not be finished during this time, which proved extremely inconvenient for my family. Much to my surprise my replacement cabinets arrived and once again they were damaged! I am in complete dismay that Cyr/Cabico would consider this acceptable. I am now set back another 4 weeks to get another round of replacements and who knows if I'll once again have the same issue. I would NOT recommend this cabinet line to anyone! While the cabinets themselves are aesthetically beautiful, the quality is hit or miss. In my case, a major miss! In addition to the damaged cabinets, another one of my cabinets was manufactured incorrectly so I have an appliance that doesn't fit and we now need to have the cabinet RE-engineered on site to fix Cyr's mistake. I have a huge amount of regret that I opted to use Cyr Lumber and Cabico for my kitchen. When it comes to customer service, how a business handles an upset customer is critically important. Well Bill Norton and the team at Cyr have done nothing to compensate me for my inconvenience. Their policy is to repair or replace damaged cabinets, but what about my inconvenience in the process and the fact that it has taken 4x longer to complete my kitchen than it should have? Cyr/Cabico's response: "Sorry." Well sorry isn't good enough for me and wouldn't be for most customers. I don't wish anyone else to go through this experience so I am choosing to publicly share my experience to spare others the frustration and agony that we have been put through over the past couple of months. There are so many options for kitchen cabinets in the local area. Please heed my warning and look elsewhere! read more

First, Let me say that our bathroom looks nice. The completed project looks good, so that is why I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1. The biggest problem with Cyr is that there was nobody managing the project. There was a 4 week schedule set up initially, and once they didn't complete in that time, we had to take a far more active management role than we wanted to, and it still took 12 weeks before the project was finally complete. Many times the subcontractors had NO idea what they were supposed to be doing. The tile guy showed up 4 days in a row to do the floor of my shower but had to leave each time because the drain needed to be installed first. The painters had to patch our ceiling in 3 areas. They patched in 1 area on the first day and didn't come back for 2 weeks. These are just 2 examples of the poor project management we dealt with. It may have helped if the project manager Bill showed up more often, but to our knowledge he was only here twice and the first time was to do the measurements before the project started. Bill did manage to take two week long vacations during our remodel and it was near impossible to get in touch with anyone who could help in his absence. (I could go on and on- feel free to message me if you want more details on our experience) Our designer and initial point of contact was Courtney, who is nice enough, but has no real control of the situation. We also ran into a few issues based on what we believe to be her lack of experience. She advised me the bathtub we ordered was an under-mount (it was not), that we could put a chandelier over the tub (that's actually against code, and the electrician put a stop to that after we spent days looking for lighting based on this suggestion), and she ordered the wrong granite edge for our vanity. So while we are satisfied with the finished project, I would not recommend CYR based on the service we received. read more

They were nowhere to be found or if you found someone they didn't work in that area. In this store the workers are both nice and knowledgeable. I placed a "special" order for a couple cedar knotty 2x4's I was first told the supplier delivers daily and they should receive my order in a day or two. Once that time passed I was told it would be a week. I waited till the day after it was supposed to arrive and was then told it would be 1-2 more weeks. This was already holding up my project and I couldn't wait longer so I cancelled and will have to find another place for lumber. I get that we are going through a crazy time right now...but that should be calculated in with the estimate. Seems like their is a real lack of communication between this store and the supplier. Also, customer service is pretty lousy. When you call you feel like you are bothering them or interrupting their day. Really bizarre. Dennis in the lumber department was great. Very friendly and personable and apologized for the delay. Just about everyone else I talked to sounded annoyed. This place is a bit of a drive for me to get to and is certainly not worth this effort. read more

I'm using Cyr Lumber to build my single family home. I have a complicated truss roof with multiple ridges and valleys. My lumber order was perfect with no errors, delivered on time and was of great quality. My lumber sales person, Kim Hankey, is always able to figure out and answer any question that I have with my construction project. I have gone back to them every time for major work on my home because I know it will be done professionally, with attention to detail with a excellent crew and with full consideration of my needs, wants and changes of mind. As a statement of fact, no major remodel can be completed on time, and as a consumer you need to be prepared for that, there are just too many variables to account for. And yes, Cyr can be pricey for some things, but you get what you pay for. They offer a very creative design staff, access to multiple vendors and a 1 year warranty on the work they do. NEVER ORDER YOUR KITCHEN FROM CYR IN WINDHAM!!!!! ordered our kitchen cabinets from this store on May 26, 2016, today is September 14th and we are still waiting for parts!!! Our cabinets came in on July 2nd, they require a paid in full balance before the cabinets are delivered. The next day when they are delivered, I open the boxes and I have the wrong cabinets. Chis the designer at CYR tells me to have my installer put them in and he will order the correct door styles as the box sizes should fit. As the installer is working on this he finds the wrong size cabinets for our beverage center. Being on a time schedule to get the countertops measured our installer cuts the cabinets and makes it work. CYR's Kitchen Manger Bill GUARANTEE me delivery of the new door style delivery and all the missing parts, crown molding, kick molding, corner cabinet door, slide outs and Island backing in three weeks. We wait and the doors come in but nothing else. They sent their installer, he puts my doors on and asks if he can come back the next day to pick up the old doors. The next day he shows up early takes the old cabinet doors and tells me CYR said he could keep them so he is going to put them in his cabin up North. He will let Chris know what we need no need to follow up. I call Chris and tell him what is missing just in case. I find out later this installer quit and stole all the cabinet doors!!! My husband and I visit the store talk to the GM, Kitchen Manager Bill, and they say two weeks its all coming. I offer Chris the list of what is missing but he says I don't need it everything is already ordered. Three weeks longer and its here. Nope missing all the kick boards the corner cabinet door 2 slide outs and a decorative panel.They send a different installer who basically sits in my garage most of the day but manages to install crown molding on three cabinets in 7 hours. Here we are on September 13th and we are guaranteed September 12th delivery and still nothing. i go to the store again and am told they have SOME of it!!!! It will be in Thursday! i call my kitchen cabinet guy to get this install finished but he isn't available because CYR lumber hired him and he is doing a job for them!!!! They do not care at all for their customers. They got their money and they are done with us. NEVER ORDER YOUR KITCHEN FROM CYR IN WINDHAM!!!!! I have been a long time customer. Actually like the place a lot and will drive further to buy from them in place of the bib box stores closer to me. Every spring I get my 4 step Scotts fertilizer program from them when it goes on Sale late March. So I went today and looked outside and could not find all 4 step bags, could not see step number 1 or 3. So I went inside and asked if they had all 4 steps out and she said yes, she just sold them to another customer, and went outside to show me. But then another guy was out and he said Yes they are all here. I told him I did not see all of them (could not find step 1 or 3) and he said they are there with an attitude. I said OK, I was going into pay and asked him if could have someone help me find them and load them into my car. He he would have someone outside to help me. Paid, went out and no one was there and waited, after about 10 minutes I went in and asked the register person if she could get someone to help me with the bags. She said OK, and I went outside again and after about 10 more minutes a guy that was driving loads of other yard items down with his forklift, came over and asked if he could help. He moved some pile ons that were blocking the area so I could back my car in for easier loading. He helped me find all the 4 step bags as we had to take 15 - 20 other bags away off pallets to find the 4 step bags underneath. Took a good 10 minutes to find Step 1 and 3. They were buried on the bottom of pallets. My complaint is the man that was out there that told me they were all there but KNEW they were buried and hard to find and get, yet just took off and said well the sale does go to the end of the month. His attitude, lack of customer service skills has cost their business around $500 - $750 per year from me. Plenty of other places around. read more

I'm a general contractor and I use pvc trim boards on a daily basis. I bought royal brand composite lumber from Cyr lumber a few days ago and when I got it to the job site we realized there were no factory edges on the boards. Usually with pvc trim the sides are melted smooth for a nice clean finish. What I got from Cyr looked like it had been ripped on a table saw so both sides were rough and had saw marks. When I looked closer I noticed the middle of my 1x8 only measured 1/2 inch thick instead of 3/4. He told me that he gets the boards with rough edges like that. Everywhere else I've ever bought pvc trim it came with smooth, factory edges. read more

Not a helpful place at all.we went back there after perusing their catalogs and found several sets we liked. However the sales women were short, unhelpful and were uninformed. They didn't know what was in the catalogs they had and claimed there were no products available. They didn't even provide any sort of reasonable order time. The sales women just didn't care to make a sale. We needed tile as well and they just pointed in a general location. As a local business, these folks do not represent what an Ace hardware is trying to convey. Awful customer service. The kitchen remodel should have been done weeks ago and they are dragging their feet. Make decisions on where things should go without asking if it's what I want as a home owner. There is power cords coming out of draws where things are supposed to be plugged in.
