I decided to stop by Czech Town Station to support Czech community. We were on a road trip from Minneapolis to St Louis and needed to grab quick bites. We ended up waiting for food for an hour just simple breakfast menu. Others that came after us got food before us and some event left the restaurants already. I stopped in here unexpectedly after I learned the Lion Bridge Brewery didn't serve food. So luckily I was able to find a place with a full menu. I can't remember what I got, but I think it was like a Korean BBQ chicken sandwich. Got it with fries (think they were sweet potato, but they were all great!). Don't get the Cobb Salad unless you just want a tossed salad with egg. and teeny tiny pieces of tomato. So disappointing! I was really hungry, Never have I seen a Cobb Salad so sparse! I went back and read that it was supposed to have bacon on it at least, but the bacon was about like sugar granules..when I did find them- after looking for a couple of minutes. (definitely not enough to taste.) My spouse's plate was "OK" We paid $45 including tip for a lunch that was so disappointing. Chick Filet would have been so much better... and cheaper. read more

I love love LOVE Czech Town Station and can't sing its praises enough. They have the best waffles hands down, the wait staff are also super chipper and attentive, and the atmosphere is very homey. I appreciate how clean they keep the eating areas when so many customers make a mess with their syrup or their drinks but they can't catch everything. I saw two tables spill syrup while I was eating and that's not mentioning the sticky spot on the bar. When I say the waffles are the best in the state, you can quote me on that. They add sugar crystals that add a sugary crunch that is pleasant to myself, and when you add their salty breakfast churned butter it'll make you moan out loud. Best of all, waffles are served until closing and are prime drinking food. Once again I can't not rate this 10/10 (and yes, the double negative is valid sine it conveys my meaning. I took comprehensive writing) and I highly recommend stopping at the Czech station. Heck, make a day of it, shop locally with the Czech Village, and then end your day with good drinks and better waffles! read more

What a sad decline, we have decided not to frequent this place anymore. The food is pretty good 99% of the time, but the service is so bad. We didn't get butter on our toast or a refill on coffee or a check in at all. The only rush was for the bill to be presented. So disappointed in our visit today, arrived at 8:25 am, with a lot of tables empty, we had a 15-20 minutes wait. Finally seated back by the kitchen, which is fine, but the table had been empty since we walked in the front door. There were a number of tables for 6 empty. It took a while to get our order in. They have great Benedict. Hooves, I asked if i could get a 1/2 order and was told 'no'. I replied 'fine, then I want the salmon, and make sure my eggs are cooked hard, I don't like my poached eggs runny.' After probably 30 minutes the food arrived. I got a piece of salmon and 2 eggs fried HARD, like rubber disks. I was told by my table mates that is what I ordered. So I ate the greasy salmon. My eggs sat for 20 minutes untouched. I was at the end of the table so it was quite obvious I was not eating them or even touched them. The server never checked on our table again, except to ask about the check. She did not ask how things were. I was charged for salmon eggs Benedict on our bill. By this time they were packed (9:45-9:50), so we left money on the table and left. Such a disappointing experience, a waste of time and money, i hope its was just an off day, but won't be back, too many other places to spend our money. read more

Stopped in for lunch while checking out places on the avenue. The place was packed so we had a short wait but nothing unmanageable. The wait staff was really killing it despite being extremely busy. They were very helpful and friendly. I had the country Benedict, half order since I noticed from the surrounding tables that the portions were very generous. It was a biscuit with a sausage patty and eggs covered in sausage gravy. Very delicious. The hashbrowns were perfectly cooked. Crispy but not overdone. My grand daughter had a chicken sandwich which she really enjoyed. Definitely a go to place for good dining experience. read more

This is a cute little hidden gem in the Czech Village. It's not marked very well, so you might just miss it driving by. They have great service and decent food. I ordered the Firehouse Chicken sandwich, which was not overly spicy. The fries have a great flavor, and they give you a pretty big portion. In town on business and had a lazy morning travel day. Found this gem for breakfast. Excellent bloodies and BOGO until 10 am I believe so that alone should bring you in. I like'm spicy and they tailored it to my preference to perfection. Staff was attentive, personable, funny, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Super nice surprise these days. Went here on new years day. Visiting from Los Angeles. The food was good, and i liked the Christmas decorations. All of this overshadowed by the exceptional service. From the moment my family walked in till the moment we left, i felt we were truly being cared for by a seemingly happy staff. Rare these days. Our host was very nice, and our server MeShell was exceptional and incredible. She had great pacing, and was just so very much on top of all of her tables. Doing it all with a fantastic energy. Cedar Rapids should be the capital of breakfast...I mean we are the cereal capital of the world, we smell like breakfast, and we have sooo many wonderful breakfast joints... Czech Town Station is now on my top 10 list! I had planned to get "lunch" - a wrap, however lunch on the weekend is not served until 12... it was 1130am (this was probably my only disappointment), but the breakfast choice I made was absolutely delicious! I love breakfast burritos and Czech Station definitely made a fantastic one - perfectly golden brown tortilla stuffed with eggs, cheese, sausage, beans, green peppers, and jalapeños. It was absolutely delicious! Other breakfast menu items that looked appealing were the breakfast tacos, eggs Benedict, and cinnamon roll French toast! I love that they also pay homage to Quaker Oats with Cap'n Crunch shake! Great little diner. If you are in CR definitely give this place a try! read more

She brought our water, took our drink order.....we asked her to take our food order, she would not. She brought the drinks before the food order. Let me say this, the food was great. The lower rating was due to the service. We had to wait while other tables around us got their food and they ordered after us. One person at our table ordered fries instead of tator tots and they gave them fries instead. When we mentioned it, the waitress brought the fries, but said we couldn't get fries on the breakfast menu, like we should know. I'm hopeful when I go back the service will be better. read more

This was the 2nd time here. The first time they were busy, it was on a weekend, but on the rude side. The place is very loud!!! This visit was during the week and an evening. There has been much a do over the food here and my daughter said her hamburger was juicy but the tots were over cooked for sure. The eggs bene was lacking in flavor, the holly sauce was blah, and a tad on the lumpy and thick side. The avacado was very scant and sliced very thin, hardly knew it was there. The hashbrowns were a small amount spread out very flat, again no seasoning very tasteless. The wontons were not too bad, they at least had flavor but but the Sirracha sauce was lacing in any spice at all. They also charge extra if you use a card to pay. I stopped in tonight with my elderly mom, we visited her home so we thought Czech village why not! Boy was we wrong!! My mom ended up puking, all over herself! Must've been while I was cleaning her up in the restroom, that other patrons complained how uncomfortable it was making them?! But my the time we got back to our table, our food arrived. I ended up just switching sides of the table, as I noticed we had a mess on the floor. I went n got help with the staff with help cleaning it up. My mom seemed to be fine, so we just started to eat our food, by this time it was cold. Well she all of a sudden puked all over are food and table! ! The manager, and wait staff came over and just said what can I do you help ! Call for medical help! The other customers are really uncomfortable with this!! They tried to put all the food into food to go boxes! I said non of it's any good! Said we had to PAY for the food!!! We only had very minimal amount of it! The manager said you ordered it! You pay for it!! I for one have Never been treated like that at any restaurant! Honestly, we shouldn't have stayed getting bumped while we waited the few minutes they told us.
