THE WORST ESTABLISHMENT I'VE BEEN TOO IN A MINUTE. For starters, My friend booked her birthday dinner here & was completely ripped off. They informed her that a prefix menu would be cheaper than letting everyone pick what they want off the full menu. The prefix menu consisted of 3 choices of appetizers and entrees picked by the birthday girl for $80 - no alcohol included! They then told her she could bring a cake (If dessert was added to the prefix menu it wouldve been $95 per person) for $20 & they would cut it and provide a "sparkler". My friends cake sat at the front door during our whole dinner and when we were ready to sing HBD, they finally brought it to the side & put 2 little regular candles in it. We watched the whole thing! They also handed us the knife & informed us they will not be cutting the cake. The establishment is very small & not like the pictures. For this to be black owed, I am flabbergasted & will never spend my money there again. The food was definitely not worth the price. read more

This restaurant is very cute and calm. Definitely recommend it for a quick bite or if you're looking to have a simple girl's night out. I actually went here with my significant other and we loved it. We ordered the Bao Buns and Oxtail Dumplings for appetizers and for the entrees we had Honey Butter Garlic Shrimp and the Oxtail meal. All of this came out to 152.00 dollars including the 4 drinks we had. All the workers were nice. I'll definitely have to come back for those bao buns and to try the oxtail sushi. read more

We found Czen on tik tok and decided to make a visit. The ambience is really nice, they have a cute garden dining area and the music is amazing. Although the service needs some improvement, the food and drinks were AMAZING. The ox tail dumplings were so flavorful. The boa buns were so light and airy. The drinks were nice and strong as well. The entrees were all delicious. I'd recommend the build your own Czen bowl with the hoisin teriyaki sauce. The service was a bit slow. It took 20 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us after we sat down. The entrees took a while to come out as well. On the bright side - there was a worker there whose name I cannot remember, but he was great! He attended to each table and also named that he knew the service was a bit slow, but if we need anything we can ask him. I plan to come back for brunch fairly soon read more

I'm updating this review based on the management's team response to my review. Thank you for the pretend nicesities to save face on Yelp. I did in fact not come at a busy time. We were the only people sat at the dinning tables when we came in at 5:00. My girlfriend left her partial (burnt food) on the plate and I left so much food on mine that I was asked if I wanted to take it to go which I sternly refused. I visited CZEN this afternoon with my husband and a friend & I can say we are not disappointed. We were sat right away. I must say the customer service was excellent!!! Our waitress gave us great recommendations like the oxtail dumplings, the jerk chicken wings & the drinks . My husband & I love oxtails so that's what we ordered for our main entrees. The flavor was great & they were so tender . All of the food was delicious. The staff was very attentive to our needs, you could tell they wanted us to have a great experience & we did. I saw it on Facebook and decided to take a chance. My family and I went on a Friday. Cool guy greeted us at the door and we were seated right away. Waitress was pleasant and answered all questions we had about the menu. Daughter had salmon salad, wife had sweet chili wings and sweet potato fries. I had jerk wings, oxtail dumplings and bokchoy. So unfortunately I have to edit my review. My experience this time around was so bad. First it was 5:45pm at the kitchen was STILL not taking orders. (Been here for over 20 minutes) Second instead of making an executive decision and sending someone out to get the necessary ingredients to make drinks, I was told no flat out and the waitress attempted to bully into another drink. During Covid, restaurants are trying their best. I'm happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood that I found out about from Restaurant.com. The fusion concept of Asian Caribbean is great. I took my Mom here for her 55th birthday and in my reservation I put that it was her birthday. They played it off so well! I thought they forgot about my reservation memo but at the end while we were waiting for the check they surprised her with a delicious red velvet slice AND the host offered to take a shot with her! Sooo ... this was my first time at Czen. Very low key in the neighborhood cut. I'll definitely put it in "the diamond in the rough" category. Yes I know the neighborhood is NOT rough (just a figure of speech). Had the ackee and salt fish (dope), Asian shrimp and grits (dope) and the salmon cakes (dope). Bottomless Mimosa's (plz don't drive after these yo) Lemonade with Tito's (yea ditto). Staff super friendly, wait staff on point (thanks Asia!!). Btw, we were brunching. The place is clean and the bathrooms are immaculate (thank you lort!!). Music was good too but geared towards the 25-30 year olds (I'm 53). If I could I' would have given them a 4.5 so I'm rounding up, not down. Just so you know, the oxtail roll wasn't on the brunch menu. Hope this helped. Give them try and I hope you enjoy that joint. I love this place! The food is amazing. My favorite app is the oxtail dumplings. My husband is super picky and he even loved it. The ambiance is super cute and the drinks are really tasty and strong. It wasn't until last Saturday I realized how much she truly loves me because she really shared those amazing sushi rolls with me. I still can't believe how good those sushi rolls were. The oxtail on it was so tender , just The thought of those sushi rolls make my mouth water still. My main entree was the Thailand Escovitch Fish . As you see in the photo , its as good as it looks. The Caribbean flavors intertwining with the Asian spices , omg this was to die for . It had this unique island favor , asian pickled taste . I'm not the best at describing food I am no food connoisseur but this is just one of those things that you have to try for yourself . I guarantee you will not be disappointed . This place is dope. It is beautifully decorated with Asian and Caribbean decor. My In-laws came to NY from Guyana and we celebrated their 30th Anniversary with our server Kyla. She was very friendly and personable. We ordered the fish cakes and mango wings for appetizers and it was delicious. We ordered Salmon, jerk chicken, and the oxtails meals. I recently came here for Sunday brunch with the hubby. The restaurant claims to serve an Asian-Caribbean fusion cuisine, but I have to say that I had a very difficult time finding the Asian influence at all. Let me just say that the prices for the menu items are unjustifiable and I would mostly recommend this place as a casual drop by if you're really hungry and already on the road with limited time to find a better place. On a positive note, the music was nice (though I would have preffered a bit more variety in the playlist) and the umbrellas and dimmer lighting offer a good ambience for a casual eatery. Our waitress was also kind and attentive. We started off with the lychee pina coladas. I barely tasted the lychee, and the drink itself was not blended smoothly. Not much of a big deal but worth mentioning. We ordered the fish cakes to start. The cakes were served with a mayo of some sort. Both were tasty, but the cake themselves could use more fish and less batter. For our mains, we both ordered the rum raisin french toast. The french toast was bland and the rum raisin syrup was more rum than anything else. I think one raisin fell out of my syrup as I poured it on my meal. As neither one of us are heavy drinkers, I guess I was hoping to get more of a sweeter "rum raisin" taste versus the pungent rum flavor. We were completely underwhelmed. For the price, this dish is something that could have been replicated at home. When dining out, I look to experience a specialty and elevation in food profiles. This dish did not meet that expectation. Along with the french toast came eggs and bacon. The bacon was good, but the eggs were dense and salty. Another important aspect of the business (for me at least), were the bathrooms. I recommend that the restaurant look into giving the restrooms a bit of a face lift. I didn't feel that it was at its best potential. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for anything but a quick drink while watching a game. Though the staff was kind, the food and the bathrooms made me feel that we could have had a better experience elsewhere for the same price. read more

Ate (& drank) here for the first time last Friday & definitely enjoyed/will return. Julian was my server, and was very good at his job. Food & drink were delicious. Backyard dining area is lovely, as is the inside. (It was a bit too chilly to eat outside when I went. Look forward to doing so next time.) My only 'complaint' would be that the music was a bit too loud & "club-ish" too early on a Friday evening (5 pm)... I think a nice chill reggae or R&B soundtrack would have better matched the vibe of the place, at that hour ... then maybe switch to the other stuff later on.
