Yelp Review 2025 #253: We've been walking around Philly the whole day. The bus was delayed for 30minutes from Rocky Steps to Franklin Institute so, we walked. We were cold, we were tired and I had to use a restroom ASAP. Luckily, Peddler Coffee was only a few feet away to relieve my bladder from its misery. Of course, we got some drinks. They're highly related on all review sites. They have baked products, coffee-based drinks and tea. They have seasonal drinks. You can get drinks hot or iced, small or large - simple! No tall, grande, venti and whatever! Maple Spice Latte: Tasty and quite unique. A flavor you won't normally find a commercial coffee houses. 4/5 Cinnamon Dolce Latte: Comforting especially on a cold autumn afternoon. 4/5 Service was great. The sign outside said Housemade Chai so I had to stop in! I had a hot chai latte. It was very good. I could taste the warming spices. The latte was made with a good ratio of milk to chai. It had a creamy foam. I was a little disappointed to not have a design on the latte. The shop had a welcoming vibe. We are so thrilled to have Peddler right around the corner from us. The coffee is really tasty, not too sweet and definitely not cheap tasting. Excellent prices for drinks and pastries that taste just as good. Our favorite drinks are the spicy mocha lattes and the brown sugar lattes. This is definitely a place you can just get a drip and enjoy it as well though. We also really enjoy the cinnamon buns and the chocolate croissants. They have so many different syrups and pastries available. The place is small, but there is a really good amount of seating regardless. The staff is so kind and great at making recommendations. I have been here years ago before the the owner changed (I think it was the ownership?). I wanted to try the new version and I really enjoyed it. The space is the same, but maybe it was the time of day we went (later afternoon) there weren't many customers so we were able to relax by the seats next to the window. The service was friendly and helpful; the drinks we ordered were maple spice latte, and honey almond cranberry orange tea latte (both very good!). Really good coffee, really good pastries, really fast service, really amazing location that's on my way to everything. What more could you want out of a neighborhood coffee shop? They have rotating seasonal latte options and also a fairly nice seating area - cozier than some of the more modern stark WHITE places you'll find nearby, and spacious enough if you wanted to come get some work done or have a chat. I had a collection back when I lived in Rochester called "places to breakup with someone or have otherwise uncomfortable conversations" and, if I had one for Philly, this would be on the list. A high ambience honor. I only had a black coffee and found it quite memorable. I will be back time and time again and look forward to adding this into my regular work rotation. Adorable corner cafe. I stumbled into this cafe as we were looking for coffee after arriving on the train and luckily this was one of the shops open. Loved it so much, I came back 2 more times during my trip to Philly. High yield: great coffee, friendly staff , good study space, dogs Location& service: corner storefront on spring street. It's located near a dog park so you might meet lots of furry friends while visiting here too! There is ample tables and chairs with wall outlets making this a good study spot. The staff were all super nice and service was super quick! I was looking to buy fresh coffee beans for a friend and the barista took the time to explain the different varieties available (my friend loved the coffee). Coffee: I tried normal latte, iced mocha coconut latte and lavender London fog latte and they were all super good. Despite the different flavors, they didn't overpower the base coffee. My friend who I got the coffee beans for also really like their beans. The barista said they only sell in small batches so you know they're fresh. Price: $-$$ base coffee prices are relatively affordable and speciality drinks are $1-3 more depending on size and type. I couldn't get enough eye candy seeing they make their own syrups, offer a spicy hot chai, and indulge senses with both pistachio, clove, and many other flavors ripe for winter caffeinated hugs. My friends enjoyed the chai with extra vanilla, them sweet tooth kids! I had the clove and cardamom latte with almond, had too much foam but once at the liquid couldn't complain about the java. A perfect pull and well priced, I am missing richer milks like soy or macadamia that would enhance the texture. Great to see a rewards menu but Indiana is a long way to max that! Great, cozy tucked on a quiet street. I like the interior with the wooden tables. Great spot for a coffee and pastry. I also love that they make their own syrups including honey almond, vanilla, mocha, pistachio, and cinnamon dolce. The syrups aren't too sweet. The espresso drinks have a nice bold flavor. I popped into this coffee shop to get out of the rain and I'm so glad that I did! The shop is on the smaller side but has enough seats for you to get comfortable if you want to stick around. I had two drinks: the house made chai and the honey cinnamon latte (both hot). The chai was by far my favorite! It's hard to find good chai in the city but this blend was very rich and warmed me up quickly! It wasn't too sweet or too spicy. There were a lot of people when I went so I had to wait a little bit longer to get my drinks because there was only one employee. I went closer to closing time (around 4) so I'm not sure if that's why. Regardless, I definitely will be going back here and would recommend it to anyone trying to get a warm drink or taking a quick pause. read more

I ordered a vanilla iced coffee while mom ordered a cranberry orange iced tea. The coffee had a nice rich and pleasant taste. Not bitter or weak in any way. And while I'm not a tea drinker, I must admit that after sipping mom's tea, I was impressed. It was sweet and fruity. The best part of this entire experience was the pumpkin biscotti. Fall lovers, UNITE! It's never too early for a taste of fall flavors and this crunchy treat didn't disappoint. I ended buying a bunch to take home-seriously! As the day progressed, more and more people came in to socialize and the volume levels were not ideal for productivity. Regardless, I really enjoyed my time at Peddler Coffee and will definitely be back, just probably earlier in the day. I ordered an iced coffee, which was $3.50. The iced coffee wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but I would get it again. The drink menu wasn't very extensive, but they did have a specials menu, which included almond milk hot chocolate (intriguing, but considering it was 60° outside, I decided against it). There was a limited selection of pastries, but no entrees. Overall, Peddler Coffee is a simple coffee shop that I would definitely return to! read more

A hideaway nook in the Logan Circle area. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and was pleased with the outcome. The location is tucked away on Spring Street, but it's on a corner so it's easy to get back towards Center City or towards the Art Museum - whatever your fancy. Parking around the area is pretty scarce, I did find a 2 hour spot just a step away though - so for me, the access was great! Inside it's got that hipster detailing going on - exposed brick, dark furniture, plenty of natural light, and decent space to set up shop or just sit and enjoy a cup of whatever. It is a pretty lean menu, consisting of standard brews, along with some teas. They do have some interesting options - like grapefruit infused espresso, and Ethiopian blends. I ordered an iced chai latte with almond milk and felt it was decent. It was a bit on the sweet side so I wish it had more of the nutmeg flavor, but it wasn't watered down and didn't require any edits with additional sugar or what not. I felt the service was great, the barista answered all my questions and was patient with me while I made a decision. They also offered their own opinion on things to help me decide. The prices on are more that I would typically care to pay for - about $5 for a small cup. Overall - good experience, but just par for course. If I'm in the area again, I may stop by but I can't say I would seek it out since I felt it doesn't offer anything that isn't offered elsewhere. read more

I pass Peddler Coffee every Sunday on my way to church, so in an effort to branch more into Philly's endless local coffee spots, I decided to finally take the plunge. Honestly, I was really craving a sweet, caramel-y iced latte/ macchiato situation, so you can imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw the simple menu that said just, more or less, tea and coffee. The first time I visited a Starbucks, I was so overwhelmed with ordering that I ended up leaving. There was too much jargon, too many different terms I didn't know. I didn't want to appear uncultured. I had a similar sense of overwhelming panic when I saw Peddler Coffee's simple menu. How was I supposed to ask for a caramel-y, sweet latte/ macchiato situation if there wasn't one on the menu? Was I overstepping my boundaries by asking for such? Can you tell I'm a chronic over-thinker? I just asked for a black iced coffee, and added some milk and sweetener myself. It was good coffee; bolder and stronger than the brews I normally drink. I was a little jittery later on. I didn't notice having a choice in size, but it was roughly the size of a Grande, for you "Starbucks lovers" (Taylor Swift, anyone?) It was made with a Chemex (or the like), no super fancy equipment overwhelming this shop. There is seating and wifi available, and I could totally see myself setting up shop with a book or laptop for an hour or two. The street parking is atrocious in the area, so just keep that in mind if you're planning on driving. My coffee was good and the shop is cute, but there was nothing particularly groundbreaking or memorable about my visit here. My particular coffee was a bit stronger than I normally like.
