I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. We made a reservation on Open Table for our daughter's birthday for New Year's Eve. There was nothing mentioned on Open Table at the time of the booking or confirmation of a price fixed menu. The restaurants which had a price fixed menu for New Years Eve made those terms very clear on Open Table prior to booking. I even called Doma shortly after making the reservation to increase our party from 5 people to 7 people, which they did, and they still did not mention a price fixed menu. As our party includes a couple of kids we prefer restaurants without price fix menus as for them it isn't typically worth the price. At the time we made the reservation there were plenty of those options to choose from because it was weeks in advance. Today, just 9 days prior to our reservation, I received a text from the restaurant saying they are now only offering a price fix menu ranging from $295 to $395 per person. I explained that wasn't what was advertised like other restaurants when making the reservation and it was very unfair just 9 days before NYE to switch on us, especially now that it is nearly impossible under such short notice to get a reservation elsewhere. I asked if they could accommodate and if not to at least have the owner call me to discuss the situation. Not only did they not accommodate but they just went ahead and cancelled the reservation and of course, no call. Yes they are the hot restaurant at the moment but I can guarantee when they treat customers like this by being greedy, misleading and pulling a bait and switch, they will be here today and gone tomorrow relatively quickly. read more

We came for their Miami spice dinner menu. For my appetizer I ordered the crab cake which tasted really fresh and was nicely seasoned. I loved that it came on a bed of chopped tomatoes and avocado. For my entree I ordered the tiger prawns which comes with sautéed spinach with pine nuts and raisins. Really good combination of flavors. The portion size is very small but I was definitely satisfied at the end of the meal. For dessert I ordered the traditional tiramisu. I'm used to the Hispanic version of tiramisu that's really sweet but this tiramisu was very different. It had a bold coffee flavor and it was really creamy. I enjoyed it. Overall great Miami spice dinner menu. The service was really friendly. Our waiter was really nice and charming but I did feel like it was a bit slow. We did notice it got pretty packed after 8pm. I have been to Dōma multiple times and it always excels in every ambit- food, libations, service, and ambience. The Tagliere is a perfect intro, the Tagliolini al tartufo nero is a must as a primi or an accompaniment for the star of the show- the Branzino, and then top it off with the homemade ice cream (pistachio is my fave, but last night the hazelnut shone). The wine menu is excellent with a fantastic Italian section. Luca and Chef Marco make up a perfect duo to deliver a well crafted experience. Do not order the Octopus as they have no idea how to cook and deliver it. Chewy beyond hope and wait staff did not realize we barely ate it. Made comment about it and he did not care. Mgr at take inquired about our experience and was honest about the poor rendition and prep of Octopus. Had Porcini Risotto. Very good but only 9 forks of it. Was laid out to cover plate but again, left hungry. 2. Ambience: nice, unassuming from outside and street. Location is ok. 3. Price: assuming price per sq. Ft is a factor for menu price, it is expensive. If you drink from bar then at table you'll pay more than food. Yes, will dine there again but will order differently. Our table for 6 was $600.00 or $100.pp. For this area and experience, it is 'sort of in line'. Enjoy, order wisely. read more

Portions are very small, filet was tough to chew, and overall not worth more than a couple of stars. Although our reservation was inside they tried to sit us outside bc they gave our table to a group they knew. Tried ordering appetizers and were told they would not put in the order until every single item for dinner was put in at they same time and even argued with us. Unacceptable, and then tried apologizing...too late. Not very cooperative or interested in pleasing their customer. Will not be back after $800 dinner and still feeling hungry and disappointed! I have to say, unimpressed by the food here. It's overpriced, and a bit pretentious, with more attention to visuals and presentation rather than food quality and taste. Octopus- was not cooked properly, it was oversalted and tough. Carrot appetizer - also, carrots not cooked properly - were tough and almost broke a tooth biting into them. Soft on the outside, but could not get through the middle. Odd. Tuna - Ok, seemed fresh and cooked well. Service also had similar traits. The servers were very nice, simily and attentive, yet had couple of serious mistakes. They mixed up our cocktail order and took way too long to make. They sent us a wrong app, and then also forgot to fire the entree with the kitchen and that then took very long. The manager even came up to apologize, but apologized for the wrong thing. It's a bit of a missed opportunity cuz the space is very nice and seems like they mean well. I'd pay a bit more attention to the things that matter and really deepen the focus on them. read more

I love Doma and always make it a point to visit when I am in town. The food, service and ambience are always consistent. The servers and manager keep us coming back, it feels like home and they are always so welcoming. Start with the pro. The pricing for happy hour is fantastic. $6.50 for a delicious signature cocktail and it runs til 8pm though. Unfortunately they only have one bartender working though so service is slow, which is the theme for this place. After happy hour we sat down for dinner. It was at least ten minutes before any waiter acknowledged us and brought a menu. All service was slow including the 20 minute wait between the 2 entrees we ordered. Keep in mind it was not packed by any means. As for the food the filet mignon was a little tough for a filet. The tagliatelle was alright but lacked some seasoning. I probably would not return unless it was for happy hour cocktails. read more

We visited this wonderful spot in Wynnwood this evening. It's a beautifully built out Italian restaurant with great out door seating. The owner Luca, introduced himself to us and we were very excited to meet him, as we had heard great things about Dōma. Let me be the first to tell you he is fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly and warm. Everything you expect in an owner/ operator but more. He is genuine with integrity. But enough about the owner and he beautiful atmosphere, you want to know about the food. It didn't disappoint either. The pasta is fresh and homemade, we started out with the Dōma Meatballs and the eggplant parmigiana, then had two different pastas and veal chops, then two amazing desserts. The bad: I called to make a reservation to celebrate a special occasion with my significant other and was assured by whoever took my call that we would be given a table accordingly. When we arrived the hostess sat us in the worst seat in the house next to the busiest aisle and open kitchen, which was quite loud, while there were many many other tables available in much better locations. An awful start to celebrate a romantic night. The food was amazing, our server was fantastic. But I was highly disappointed with the hostess' decision to kick us to the curb when we had an outstanding reservation. This will be the last time I celebrate an occasion here. read more

I love Doma. I try to come here often whenever I have to meet my dad for dinner, since he loves it too ever since I recommended it to him. Everything is super fresh, and authentic. The service is very attentive and on point. The inside of the restaurant is very sleek and modern, but there is also a very cute patio out back that seats a few tables. Favorites so far are the beef tartare (if you like bone marrow, try this!). The soft egg is a dish I basically get every single time. It is unlike any other dish you've probably had. The fried calamari is so fresh and melts in your mouth. I've also tried a bite of the mushroom risotto and that was spectacular. If I didn't have to indulge in the pasta when I go there, I would probably order that. But their pasta is worth it... The lobster pasta for two is delicious, not too heavy of a sauce. Little sister is a huge fan of their pasta bolognese. Will not even leave one spaghetti behind when she orders it. Dessert is always excellent too. Once had a mille feuille special of the night that blew my mind. Their creme brûlée is delicious too (I know, how can you mess this one up?). And if you like super super sweet stuff, you should try their meringue with mango. If you are local to Miami or just visiting, put this one on your list. You will definitely enjoy! read more

Let me start off by saying that we have been here several times and the food has always been nothing but excellent. Tonight however, we were extremely disappointed with the level of service. When we arrived we were told they were having issues with the air conditioning. But they were trying their best to get it fixed. Although we hesitated in staying because the temps hit 95 degrees today, we agreed to stay because it's Saturday night in Miami and chances to get another reservation at another good restaurant at a moments notice is a slim chance. The a/c was never fixed. So we had to sweat throughout our whole dinner. Although it was our choice to stay, our disappointment was that the manager who was clearly working the floor never once approached our table and even our waiter never once mentioned anything about the fact that we were suffering through the heat. You obviously would look around and people were fanning themselves with the menu. So clearly it was uncomfortably hot. To me the fact that the staff didn't care enough even to come by and check on us or let alone offer something as a recognition of how uncomfortable it was inside the restaurant, tells me they just don't care enough. It's a shame because had they just appreciated the fact that we were willing to deal with the heat and not just walk out on them it would made a world of difference. We will not be back. read more

The food was incredible and the service was excellent. After ordering drinks, we started with "The Soft Egg" as an appetizer. It was so delicious...amazing flavor and textures! For our meals my wife ordered the gnocchi with calamari and I ordered the osso bucco with saffron risotto. Both were simply phenomenal! For dessert, after hearing the options which all sounded great, we chose the pistachio gelato which, is pricey because of the ingredients, but it is worth every single penny! They make it to order so the texture is spot on- perfectly creamy and delicious! Also, I can't end this review without saying how great the service was. Great isn't even a strong enough word. Our server Carlo couldn't have been any nicer and attentive. He knew the food and could tell us sincerely if what we ordered was good. Seriously one of the kindest skilled servers in my opinion you could have. Every single member of the staff we interacted with was super super nice and attentive!
