My nephews have recently been taking piano lessons and asked my mother if they could have our piano. My mom told them they had to ask their auntie if it would be okay, in which I did say yes and told my brother that he will have to find a moving company to help move it to his house if he wants it (had no idea that there were piano movers). My brother ended up finding D & J Piano Movers, who are right out of Azusa. My brother called them on a Wednesday night and they gave him a quote right away (it cost $200 to move the piano about 8- 10 miles away from my house). D & J Piano Movers was great because they did let us know that they would be able to pick up the piano this past Monday (it would have been earlier but my schedule didn't work to be where I would be at home during designated times). On Thursday, they let my brother know that they would come on Monday between 9- 11 am. They called on Monday morning to let us know that they be arriving in about 15 minutes. They parked on the curb by our house around 8:50 am and got ready to start moving the piano out of our living room. The process was smooth and easy. I also asked them to take a box to my brother's house that held all the sheet music and music books. Overall, it was a good and positive experience and appreciate that D & J Piano Movers was able to give us a time frame to when they would arrive. And also give us a call when they were going to be on their way. We use D&J to move the pianos at a historic venue, we have 5 vintage grand pianos that have to be moved between rooms, up and down stages, down flights of stairs and through very tight doorways. House moves are stressful. Moving two pianos, one of which is a pretty new 6'2" Grand and the other an upright on the second floor, just increased the level of stress exponentially. I contacted several places. D&J was the only one that followed up with me consistently (thanks to the amazing Jenny!) so I didn't have to constantly remind myself of one more item on my to-do list. They also quoted me a very reasonable rate for a move involving carrying an upright down a flight of stairs at the pick-up location and up another flight of stairs at the drop-off location. On the evening before, Dan contacted me to confirm the arrival time and on the day, they kept me informed of their time of arrival. Dan and Chris arrived on time and did an amazing job with moving the pianos while maneuvering around my other movers. My other movers were so impressed by them that they stopped to watch Dan and Chris move my upright downstairs. The move up the stairs at the new place was even more impressive. I have seen other piano movers (three men) move my upright upstairs before and I can say that those guys had a much harder time than Dan and Chris. This is back-breaking work but relying on brute strength is not enough. Dan and Chris employed some some clever tricks, great communication and finely-tuned technique to complete the move successfully. They also showed me how to position the pianos in the new place and how to adjust the position. The entire move, including the 5 minute drive to my new place, took about 1.5hrs. I highly recommend D&J for your next piano move. They are professional, reliable and won't cost you as much as moving your entire house. read more

I contacted D&J Piano movers on 4/13/23 because my client's house flooded, and we need to move the piano to a new location so the water emergency services can begin. Today on 4/17/23, Dan reached out this morning and stated that he cannot do the job because his vehicle broke down. He offered to reschedule but because of my client's situation, we can't move the date. I explained the situation and he offer to rent a vehicle. I accepted his offer. I decided to use another company to avoid him getting a rental. I texted him to notify him. I felt really bad for him. I am writing a one-star review because of the way he responded after I texted.
