I am extremely disappointed with my experience. My pet was discharged from the grooming appointment because they became anxious during the service. Instead of taking the time to work with them or discussing other options with me, they stopped the grooming altogether and sent my pet home without even completing the service. I understand that not every pet is easy to groom, and safety should always come first. However, I expected more patience, compassion, and professionalism from people who work with animals every day. Anxiety is common in pets, and how it's handled makes a huge difference. Unfortunately, I left feeling like my pet was given up on rather than cared for. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience, especially if your pet is nervous or needs a little extra understanding. read more

Male associate was incredibly rude. I asked if I could interact with a cat I was interested in buying and he insisted that they could only let me play with her if I was serious about buying. I said I am serious about buying, but how do you expect people to buy your cats if they can't meet them first? He said again, "Are you absolutely sure about wanting to buy this cat?" to which I said yes for the second time. He said "Well you have to be at least 18 or older or have a parent or guardian to adopt."..... I am 26 years old. So I told him I am 26 and he circled back AGAIN and said "Okay well do you think you're actually going to adopt the cat." I left and went straight to Petco where I was holding a cat within the first 3 minutes I was there (and I adopted her too). No wonder PetSmart has a hard time selling their animals, who would want to feel uncomfortable and berated by the staff for simply holding a cat before adopting? You guys need to change your pet handling policy. It's a SHAME you can't even touch the animals before you buy them unless you're "serious", and I was serious! I will most definitely never be coming back here. I don't want to feel uncomfortable for asking to pet a cat and for a place that "loves pets", it's terrible that we aren't allowed to love on them. if i could i would but 0 but i can't. i got my first bearded dragon here and he was very lethargic but the staff just said he was "calm" he was there for 10 months and they didn't feed them calcium which they need to be fed to survive. Iris only last 3 months in my care and i did everything right. i have a 40 gal with the right lights and i fed her meal worms. the staff is NOT knowledgeable at all! if your going to get a reptile get one from an actual reptile store i know have Cherry and their doing much better! i got them from the serpanterium which you can tell is much better! read more

Since it has been getting hotter out, we wanted to give the dogs a shave down and Petsmart had the soonest availability. We didn't mind so much that the haircuts themselves were lacking professionalism since it was a quick summer shave down- the cuts were choppy, uneven, and lacking attention to detail. I'm leaving a low review because of how one of the groomers acted while I was in the salon. I was trying to pick my dog up and they were very busy. So my kids and I had to wait outside for a while which was fine. The issue was when we entered the salon one of the employees wearing the black uniform working at a table in the front began to loudly use profanity in front of my kids. When she turned around she giggles and says of sorry I didn't see you there. Now my children are using the same language. I understand that it would have happened eventually but they are 5 and 7. The frustration I feel from the fact that this employee thought that cussing in front of my kids was a cute little joke it's not. When you are working act like it. I found the young girl Ruby at the register rude. She asked for my reward card I told I didn't have it. That I do have my phone number. She said I need to bring the card, it's policy. I told her I am there once a month and have never been told otherwise. Ruby insisted that I bring it in next visit. I had an appointment for my dog Bella today at 6060 Long Prairie Road, Flower Mound, TX with Erica. I didn't have to wait as Erica checked her in right away. She explained how she will groom Bella and gave many helpful suggestions. Erica was very kind and gentle with Bella. I told Erica that Bella is very uncomfortable with big dogs. She made sure that Bella was not close to any big dogs. Erica did a wonderful job; I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good groomer. read more

One of the biggest petsmart location that I've been to. We have used their pet hotel once and it worked great with no issues. I really like their selection of pet food for canines, they have lots of variety and not just the big brands that may or may not be a good option for your dogs. They also have a pretty big selection of toys and all kinds of other pet related stuff. read more

I made a appointment for 3:30PM to get my dog groomed. She is a 12 pound Maltese. BARLEY NEEDED A GROOM, mostly trim around her face. The groomer Kate G was very rude. Due to covid you wait outside the door have someone approach you for check in. No one greeted me, so I popped my head in mentioning I have been waiting for 10+ minutes to have someone check me in. Kate said to directly in front of two other groomers "are you in a hurry or something". I asked Kate how long it would take Erin to be groomed she said 4 hours!! Are you kidding me. 7:30, Erin was ready. When I got home I noticed two cuts on her!! The one on her stomach isn't bad but the one on her thigh is HUGE, Erin needed stitches. I have a 10 month old mini golden doodle who has been groomed at two other places before this and never had an issue. We noticed his fur was matted so we went to this location because it had the quickest appointment availability. At the end of his time I was called and told that my dog was incredibly shy and nervous the whole time. The groomers in turn made us feel like we were neglecting our dog by taking him to a new place in order to get his fur fixed a week earlier than we could have. Lost my business today. read more

Are we reviewing the store or how an employee looks? Kim was highly recommended to me for grooming. She did not disappoint. My 2 pups have never looked so good. Kim is a wonderful groomer and person. Kat was fabulous! She always takes special care of my dog Puppy because Puppy cant have water get into her ears because it causes ear infections in her. This is the place you want to goI if you don't really need anything because their shelves are empty they don't have staff to help you and the ones that are there are so overwrought that they are all angry. The employees that are there are outside smoking in front of the building and throwing their cigarette butts on the ground and the isles are littered with urine spots and the occasional dog droppings. Not a pleasant experience to walk through and I certainly would never take my animal in with me due to the unclean condition. read more

The cons: Please check and make sure (if you can) that your items are not expired or spoiled before you walk out of the store. Last time we were here we got some gummies for our dog. When we got home we noticed that they were completely moldy! How could we not have seen it!? They were super nice and seemed embarrassed that their product was bad. - A lot of their stuff is also poorly signed so make sure you check what the signs say before you rely on what is behind it. That product may not be on sale. Pros: Customer Service! They always give us fat discounts when we are here! And everyone is always so friendly! Their prices are comparable to petco! - Cleanliness of store and convenience of finding things. - They are good about honoring mis-signed products. But it's still good to check. Petsmart #1282 does not usually have the cat food in stock that I'm looking for so I end up getting food my cats won't eat. On top of that, I received a merchandise credit on their store issued merch card (for food my cats would not eat) and immediately it did not work with the PIN number. As the cashier tried multiple times to enter the merchandise credit the line grew increasingly longer, and longer. I was getting so embarrassed at the inability for the store employees to get a simple merch credit performed at the register. I finally gave up, paid full price and left my credit on the store card, but I kept the receipt for the next time I tried to use the merch credit. Today, almost a month since I've remembered about the store credit I went to give it another try! As before, the cashier could not get the PIN to work and no credit added to my sale. Another store employee came to the register and told me that it is the CUSTOMER's responsibility to call customer service and resolve the merch credit dysfunction. But the card itself reads: "VALID IN STORE ONLY. BALANCE INQUIRIES AVAILABLE IN STORE ONLY." Hmmmmm If you want great shopping and CS experience and a lot of fun - shop at CHEWY! read more

Both of my dogs left the salon with water in their ears. We specifically requested that cotton be placed in their ears during grooming. Either this was not done or it was not done adequately. Both of my dogs were in pain through the night and I had to google how to deal with helping a dog with water in the ear to avoid an infection. Fortunately, we were able to put a drying solution into the ears of my dogs in order to help solve the problem but the problem should have never existed in the first place. PerSmart needs to provide better training because this happened to both of my dogs who were groomed at the same time by the same technician. read more

Took one of my dogs here a few months ago (first time ever using their grooming services) and they cut his neck pretty good while they were shaving him. When I picked him up, they told me about it and said their vet checked it out and said he was fine. I didn't pay for that cut. Yesterday, I took another dog to get her haircut. I took her to petsmart because of the glass window and I could supervise the grooming. I told the girl exactly how to cut it and my dog came out looking terrible. Uneven shaving, her face was a mess, they forgot to cut her dew claws, and I'm about 90% sure they didn't even bathe her. I'm not confrontational so I just asked if they expressed her glands, which she replied yes to, and took my dog home. Come morning, my dog can't stop scooting her butt on the ground and gets it super irritated. After taking her to the vet, I find out her glands were still completely full. I'm not sure if it's because I took her at night, maybe the less experienced groomers work then... But basically, I won't be taking either of my dogs back. read more

This place just lost my business for good. I set up a reservation for my dog over a week ago because I am going to be out of the country for about a week. I am leaving tomorrow. They called me today to let me know that the didn't want to take him because of his age and health. Now my dog is 15 years old and blind. There are some significant risks with having him kenneled. I understand this. However, they knew the condition of my dog when they took the reservation because I had just had him kenneled there at the beginning of the month. I asked them when I made the reservation if this would be a problem. They informed me that would not be. Now the day before I leave...hours before I drop him off...they call me to tell me they don't want to take. On their behalf, they do recommend me to an animal hospital down the road. But this is ridiculous! I don't have time to check them out. To see if my wife and I like them. I am very upset about this. I know... White people problems. read more

I am having difficulty finding product, stop an associate coming from the back office for a location of product, I am told that's not his area and he works in the pet hotel (irrelevant information) and I should ask someone up front. Seriously? Get off your dead ass and learn something about your store. So I wander some more until I locate product after passing two more associates, bumbling with product on a cart, as they spill it on the floor. I get my product, take it to counter, interrupting staffer on cell phone ( of course ). He rings up the sale, it comes up too high, as product is mis-marked in the system. He does a price check, but asks me where it is in the store ( huh ) again, Get off your dead ass and learn something about your store. Staffer Comes back and says "well it was on sale, but I'll give it to you this time. The product was mis-marked on the shelf. Lord, let me leave this store as soon as possible. The store is always clean and stocked, the employees are always asking me if I need assistance and the trainers care. We buy Blue Buffalo food for our boxer/AmStaff and pit mix dogs, they have the entire selection of Blue Buffalo products and I love that because they run specials (for petPerks members) every now and then and it allows me to buy the lowest priced food of the one I choose (grain-free). Even the Banfield hospital is good for check-ups, although I'm not sure about major surgeries or injuries. We find ourselves waiting a LOT, and the fee if the vet comes in is too high for the 2-5 minutes they're in there. We take our dogs here for minor things and check ups, but rely on a standalone vet for spaying and other major health concerns. My one concern (actually made me livid) was that they informed me after my dogs stayed in their pet hotel for several days that they don't allow any dog that appears to be a "bully breed" - no matter the temperament - to socialize. I believe they add to the stereotype and only hinder the breeds that already get a bad rap. We let out 6 month old pit mix stay there, fully expecting she be allowed to socialize so she doesn't become fearful of other dogs (most of the "aggression" of "bullies" is out of fear - MANY trainers and rehabilitationists have confirmed this for us) and I found out she was left in the kennel and only taken for a short walk. I think that shows ignorance. The company as a whole needs to reevaluate their policy because they don't even require a DNA test to confirm that the dog truly is of "bully" genealogy, they say ANY dog that even APPEARS to have been mixed with a bully at any time is restricted. So a lab? A weimerainer? A mutt? For boarding, I would definitely use a more informed boarding facility and not one that fuels the fire for breed stereotypes. For dog food and treats? Prices are a little high, but the selection is good. read more

I took my dog to this pet salon a couple of times. Each time there was slight disrespect. The last time they chopped my dogs ears off which took me years to grow and she was very angry after leaving the salon. I asked them why such treatment occurred against my instruction and they boldly and bluntly said because its what they wanted to do, I have a recording of this entire conversation. My experiences at this grooming salon have been nothing short of fantastic!! I use the salon manager, Kim! I have followed her over the years on her journey to management through 3 different PetSmart locations!! I consider Kim, not only a great groomer, but a great friend! And more importantly a great friend and advocate for my pups! Our family currently has 3 dogs all of which Kim grooms regularly!! Two little ones, a Maltese and a Shitzu; and a very large, very rambunctious 8 mo old Goldendoodle! Kim handles them all with expertise, kindness and compassion! She treats them as if they were her dogs!! I can't recommend PetSmart salon, Kim and her staff highly enough!! I might add that while I use Kim, I have observed and interacted with much of the staff and find them all to be pleasant, caring and professional!
