I am APPALLED by this groomer's work. They were understaffed and likely negligent. My dog came home and his energy slowly tanked. He went on to not eat or want to walk even, his two favorite things to do! 2 days after his appointment (no haircut), we rushed our sweet pup to the ER. He had an elevated white blood count, an elevated red blood cell count, and a high temperature, aka a fever. He was experiencing symptoms from an infection, which we later found out was due to the surplus of scabs ALL OVER my baby's body. I am assuming the "furminator" like deshedding tool was the culprit. My dog being very nonvocal probably squirmed and they assumed it was just his discomfort with grooming - they harmed my baby with a simple short-haired grooming service for a German shepherd mix. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! I have never had an issue with groomers in the past and this saddens me to write... $60 for a grooming and then $1,000 for a Labor Day weekend Pet Emergency Hospital visit later... I encourage you to look elsewhere. Please value your pets and the people they regularly come into contact with by keeping this place off your list of reputable businesses. After reading some positive reviews, I decided to take my dog to David's pet grooming for the first time today. The staff were welcoming and friendly, so I felt comfortable leaving my dog there for grooming. It took about 3 hours for them to groom my small-medium German Shepherd/corgi mix. The one star is for what I discovered when we got home. My dog was urinating in the backyard and I noticed there was blood just below her anus. I quickly took a baby wipe to see if it was in fact blood and it was! After wiping away the blood, I noticed that she had a .5-1 cm cut just below her anus. Needless to say, I was extremely upset! I don't know what happened exactly during the grooming process, but I would imagine that they would have told me about any issues that may have arisen during the grooming process. However, that was not the case and I was not informed of the cut. It is unacceptable to me that they either knew about the cut and didn't want to inform me of it or that they were negligent enough to not even realize this mistake...both are not acceptable! I don't intend on returning to this establishment for any future pet grooming needs. read more

I'm used to "boutique" salons and this was more down and dirty with loud vacuums running and fur on the floor. Before taking my puppy for his first grooming appointment I was quoted $30 for puppy face trimming only or $45-50 for full haircut. We showed them what we wanted... specifically a round fuller face... (see picture #2) what we got back was horrible(pic#1). His face was a weird angular shape. And on top of that they said it was $65. I called before picking our pup up and asked them if they can honor what they quoted over the phone and they said no because we had asked for hand trimming for the entire body. When we picked up told us he was NOT hand trimmed... and still charged us $65 and his face looks nothing like what we wanted! We drove extra far to come here, however our poor baby's cute face got butchered and we were lied to... so disappointed! read more

Brought my puppy here for his very first grooming experience. David himself came out to greet Tochi. It takes them a few hours, so you drop off your dog and come back to a glossy, flossy, gleaming puppy that smells SO GOOD. They were able to get all the mattes and stickler bur things out of his fur (he was a shelter rescue). They left his lil poodle puff on his head, isn't he adorable!!! He wasn't scared at all! David and Tonya bought this salon from Anthony. It is on Valley Parkway across the street from the two new county government buildings. I have taken my labradoodle, Max to this pet salon since he was about 6 months old. Max loved Anthony and I was very concerned that he might not receive the same good treatment and services from the new owners, David and Tonya. I had nothing to worry about. Max is always nervous going in but he comes out just fine. They do an excellent job and I can tell Max loves David. Their prices are reasonable. I recommend this salon highly. read more

Do not leave take your dog here! I showed them a picture of what I wanted and they completely butchered my dog! And then they tried to charge me 70 dollars when they said it would be 50! They don't listen at all to what you want. Take your dog else where. UPDATE: The owner contacted me and tried to blame ME for not complaining to the right person because the receptionist doesn't know how to handle complaints. Silly me calls the vet to get an estimate on getting my sweet Keekee shaved (bad hair mats) and nails clipped. One was curled into her paw I noticed too! In a nutshell they say itll be up to $300 cos she has to have shots and all this. Davids was awesome! They shaved her and clipped her nails but the one had grown into her paw 1/2 inch! She'd never limped but I know, my negligence. They coulda handed her off and told me to go to the vet but they dug it out, disinfected it and it was just $48! I dont know or care where that price falls in the world of pet grooming. I felt they went way over the call of duty and was more than happy with the price. read more

I always take our dogs to our vet groomer, who is great (Riverchase), but she was out for several weeks and my poor cockapoo was really needing a cut. After reading up on several groomers close to us in Coppell, this one seemed to have the best ratings and was not terribly far. I brought both my boys, though the schnoodle was just in for a shampoo. When I came in, I explained who I had with me and it was a little odd that they were not up and asking questions (stayed seated), but I told them which was which and then I went on about the cut for my cockapoo. I said he needed a cut, but not shaved to the skin, he needed two or three blades longer than the lowest, DO NOT CUT HIM TO THE SKIN! Teddy bear cut around the face and please express the glands. They called later in the afternoon and said they were ready. I came to get them, my cockapoo wouldn't come out of the crate they had him in (my schnoodle ran right out to me, not on a leash, could have gone out the door into the street if someone came in). They finally got Jesse (the cockapoo) out and he was scared and shaking. I was shocked. He was shaved to the skin with several nicks. The owner showed me a pretty bad cut under his front leg. I was upset and said "why did they use the shortest blade? I told them not to do that. Use a 2 if shortest was a 0, but whatever it is, NOT THE SHORTEST." The owner said he was sorry, the 10 blade is the shortest and that he would cut the grooming in half for the mistake. It should have been free. My dog has to wear a sweater due to weather here in April and probably will never want to go in the car again due to this experience. I am sure this is not indicative of their typical service, but I clearly got a poor groomer. I will not be back! read more

I have been taking my schnauzer here for quite a while now, since I moved to this area. She previously had a groomer we all loved but he is now too far so we searched and searched and came across this place, pretty close to us and we noticed it had good reviews. Overall they do a pretty good job, my dog has gotten a great haircut every time. The guy who owns the business is nice and the ladies at the front are also very nice. We've never had any problems with a bad haircut or anything as such. The reason why I am giving them 4 stars is because they will ignore your requests even if you tell them 5 times, I kid you not.....such as not cutting something in particular. I asked them not to cut my dogs lashes literally 5 times, first when I called to make the appointment, then about 4 times when I actually dropped my puppy off. And this didn't just happen one time but twice, the second time I was super upset and nearly lost my sh*t... I've learned that you have to ask them to note it in your puppies account, after they did that we haven't had a problem, however I still remind them. David seems like he genuinely cares about the dogs who are taken there so that's nice. Once they are done they will give you a call and put the dogs in their own kennels, so you know your dog won't be attacked by any other dog or anything like that, the kennels are to your left as soon as you walk in. read more

First time coming here. I've never been to a dog groomer place before so I don't really have any other experiences to compare it to. We were as soon as we walked in by 2 girls at the front desk. We were told that it would be approximately a 2 hour wait and that they would call us when our dog was ready. I was satisfied by the service. Tuddy came out of there looking really clean and his fur smelled really good. His ears were still a bit dirty but they looked cleaner than before. I love David's because on Thursday's you pets get free nail trims! They've done both my pups and they've never had any problems. Regular nail trims are I think $7 dollars and I can get both of their nails trimmed + tip for cheaper than getting 1 pups nails trimmed at petsmart. I don't get them grommet because I bathe/brush /brush teeth, etc myself but I've heard good things! read more
