In July 2025, I bought a '63 Corvette restomod from a local builder (Not D&P). Car had numerous issues. First was stalling while driving. Fuel pump needed a regulator. I knew about D&P who built a '57 Olds restomod for a friend 20 years ago. Decided to go to them for future issues which include: Rebuilding the original builder's custom water pump. Replacing the speedometer Replacing the driver's side door lock cylinder that fell inside the door. Fixed non working headlights - Dimmer switch had melted and Nick modified wiring for a secondary circuit for the high beams. in the beginning of may 2026 I called this shop to get a estimate on my truck so the lady told me to take pictures and the parts I have and to email them so I did that. then weeks go by I don't hear from them so I called them. And leave a message with their secretary and then finally someone contact me back and ask for a few more pictures and email them to them so I do that and then three weeks go by. First off, the owner and manager are very nice guys and I paid my bill in full with zero disputes. That being said, this shop represents themselves as one of the best in the country, but I found their work to be way too slow, unreliable, and overpriced. I scheduled a time to drop off my truck weeks in advance but it still took them over 7 weeks to complete approximately 20 hours of work. Despite being professed experts, they took 1.5 hours to install a 1 wire alternator, 1.5 hours to disconnect a brake controller, and 8.25 hours to install a rear bumper. All at a rate of $145/hour. After pushing deadlines over and over again, when I picked up the truck after the main project of the rear gas tank had been completed, I was told it was entirely operable. I specifically asked if the gas gauge reading a 1/4 was correct and the manager told me it was. Although this shop emphasizes safety, my truck made it only 1.4 miles before running out of gas on a busy street. When employees came to put fuel in the tank, they had the audacity to tell me the truck has "wiring demons" even though I just paid them to wire the gauge. After spending $3,200 and waiting 7 weeks, if I was told the gas gauge was broken, I would have sent them the $32 replacement. Once home, I asked to have the gauge fixed in the next couple days because I was unhappy about what happened. The owner told me I had to come back next week because despite them being the best, only the owner had the knowledge and tools to fix my gas gauge. I cut my losses here even though I explained to them I wanted to complete tens of thousands in restoration. In the end, I felt I waited way too long for overpriced and unreliable work. P.S: I was quoted 4 hours of labor (almost $600) to remove the cab gas tank to complete my project, but elected to do it myself due to all the delay. It took me just over 1 hour to remove the 4 seat and 9 tank bolts. read more

I was recently introduced to the DP Classics Team after deciding to do an upgrade to my 69 Camaro interior, sound system and a few other items on a never ending list. My initial intro was talking with Nick and Darryl, which led me to making the decision to bring my Camaro to them for the work based on their knowledge, friendliness, and passion for classic car restoration and modification. When I arrived, I was met by Pat. Once again I was instantly pleased with their obvious passion for classic cars, knowledge, and true interest in listening and offering their experience to help you reach the ultimate results. During the process of removing, and installing the entire new interior, sound system upgrade, r&r an original rear window defogger as well as check out a number of other things that came up along the way, not to mention regular communication to suggest items to better complete my vision ( custom door handles and window cranks, premium carpet and sound material under carpet, upgraded seatbelts) etc., all of which made a big difference in the end result. When the time came to pick up my Camaro, Darryl called and went through everything and we arranged a day and time. When I arrived, the car was out front, shiny clean, the whole team that worked on different parts of the car all spent a few minutes telling me about their part and going over little details. I fired her up and took it for a drive to see how it felt ( they did a tune and oil change and test drive/diagnostic at my request ) and drove and was very happy with everything that was done. I have to say I'm not easy to please and very picky about my things and it seems harder to find services today that treat things as if it were their prized possession. In closing, not only have I found a great Team that truly loves what they do and cares about their service, but I feel I've found a group I hope to visit and plan future projects with for years to come ! read more

Let me start out by stating "Great Service". Had my 1957 Chevy Nomad gauge package updated and added power door locks. Had to wait approximately 3 weeks to drop car off. During that time I was updated through Emails to confirm my scheduled appointment. Once the car was in the shop I was updated the status and work was completed as scheduled. I'm reasonably certain, he switched out my close ratio trans for a wide ratio trans, while in for work on unrelated components. I brought my '56 210 in because the A/C stopped working and to fix some bugs left by the shop that had swapped out my engine and transmission from an auto to a Tremec. I primarily worked with Nick and Darrell. Nick provided me with a detailed estimate and provided me with updates throughout the process. One thing they discovered on the car was faulty balancing and installation of the flywheel which caused a shake/vibration, which over time would've caused engine failure. They fixed this and other issues I was not aware of. The car seems great now, and I'm very appreciative for all their help. They will be my go to shop from now on. read more

Even though they are working on some really expensive cars and huge projects they treated me like my small project was just as important. Nick and Darryl expertly diagnosed all of the problems and made the car the way it should be. I was looking up D & P's new address and stumbled upon their Yelp page and saw the recent negative comment made by David P. "Mr. P" To give a negative report and "not recommend this place" based on your impatience is just...well stupid. That is just my opinion. We are all entitled to one. So, for you "Mr. P" I don't recommend you use them either. You are obviously in too big of a hurry and they may further disappoint you. They are very busy, they take their time and do quality work. Obviously, you didn't have a chance to see or experience that. Your Loss! I have been a customer of D & P Classic Chevy's for well over 15 years. I have 3 vehicles two of which I am proud to say were built or modified by D & P. My first vehicle they worked on had a full frame off restoration. My 1956 Chevy Belair 2 Door Hardtop with a 572 / Custom Chassis / 4 wheel disc brakes / Tubular control Arms / Custom Interior / the works. Darryl (the owner) and I worked together on building a car I would be happy with. He literally helped me take my car magazine fantasy and make it a reality. Not just anyone can do this. The staff at D & P know what they are doing. I will admit, the initial build time that was guestimated was longer than I had hoped, but I can take some blame for that because I couldn't make up my mind with some of the options that were provided. You know the saying "you get what you pay for" ? Boy, did I. I have won multiple awards for best paint, best custom, best interior and the list goes on. I am more than happy with my car. As a classic car owner I know that working on these vehicles takes time and not just anyone can do it. I also know that it is hard to find a one stop shop like them. 2 years ago I moved out of state and bought a 67 GTO convertible. I wanted some engine and suspension upgrades done so I found a shop out here and although they did a decent job I was talked into a more pricey engine and it has just been a little bit of a struggle to get them to solve some of the issues. I know that if D & P had done the work on my GTO I would be getting the answers and resolutions needed so I can start to enjoy my GTO. You see, D & P did an LS3 swap in my 65 Chevelle and I initially wanted to just do the engine and not get too costly in the upgrade. The initial recommendation was to do engine, cooling system, and upgrade to 4 wheel disc brakes. I agreed to the engine and cooling system upgrade and after putting the first 500 miles on the motor I caved and did the 4 wheel disc brakes. Man, What a difference! You just can't cut corners with these cars and you can't go to just anyone. They will give you what you want but they will also talk you through the issues/dislikes you may experience and give you multiple options to stay within your budget. So if you want a company with over 40 years experience, quality workmanship and folks that know what they are doing, then D & P is your place. read more

Absolutely amazing. The new shop is perfect. These guys go out of their way to help you, they'll take time out of their day to talk to you about parts, options, and prices. When my Vintage air computer fried after a year and two months of having it they replaced it with no charge to me even though the one year warranty was no longer in effect. They said they "didn't feel right charging" for the ECU. Its good to know there are still good guys out there to work on your classic chevy. read more
