    Lemon ice tea
    Brandon S.

I came to Canada to visit my relatives and this is the first spot they took me to for breakfast. I got a ham and egg sandwich with a lemon iced tea. Order came within 10 minutes. The ham and egg sandwich tasted exactly as I expected. Nothing special but good. I wished there was more than one slice of ham but it was way cheaper than whatever I was having back where I live. The real star for me was the lemon iced tea. Tastes just like the ones I have at mom and pop cafes in Hong Kong. Overall, cheap and tastes great. The ambiance and decor reminds me of run down cafes in HK. This place was a great welcoming for someone coming to visit Canada

Location/Service This place is located right in the heart of Bamburgh Circle plaza. It's near the side with the Dim Sum restaurant and Pho 88. Plenty of parking available. Inside is pretty big - not too fancy in terms of renovation - a typical older style of HK cafe/restaurant. Staff are very nice and easy to talk with. Food service was very fast. Food Came here for breakfast, which is usually available until 11am for some items (others are all day). Very reasonable prices - I had a set morning meal which was under $10. This one came with egg sandwich, beef vermicelli and a drink. Overall everything is pretty standard, nothing was super outstanding or bad - quantity was enough to fill me up. It's a great spot for a quick meal at good pricing. This place also offers afternoon tea and dinner items - so it is great any time of day and great for family. They also do party platters, so definitely a good bonus.

Speed service. The server is so experienced that they always looked at the tables and checked what's missing. Although the decoration is dated, it is my family breakfast go to place. A set breakfast with tea and coffee costs less than $10 . It is except the thin steak , eggs and toast with beverage costs the most with $12. Whoever wants to experience a Hong Kong local taste or home sick of Hong Kong should come and try. Washroom is clean but outdated. Parking is in front shared with the mall.

On the breakfast menu 2 eggs, toast with butter and pork chop with tomato sauce. Comes with a drink of choice.

I used to come here a lot when I lived around the area with my mom. The food is tasty and they are super quick. Their deep friend wings, fries and fruit salad is SO good. I'm always having a hard time deciding what to eat here cause everything on the menu is so delicious.

Great customer service! The wings are incredible juicy! The fries are so crispy! The milk tea was great!

Well, it's been a while since I did an official review of D & R Wing's. D & R's has been a long time staple for many local residents in Scarbrough, particularly for many residents from Hong Kong looking for a taste of classic HK style cafe cuisine. I grew up eating at D & R's with my family and during my lunches when I was in high school. It disappoints me to write this, but D & R's has lost its touch over the last few years. I made a visit recently to relive some of the cravings I had from childhood and unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. I ordered the Portuguese Style Seafood with Rice from their Daily Specials Menu, which comes with a soup (choice of Cream, Russian Borscht and Chinese) and a drink. I should have been more aware of my choice as I was expecting a medley of seafood (i.e. Fish, squid, shrimp) of the cheaper side. However, when I received my meal it was all fried fish in their so-called "Portuguese" sauce. The sauce was bland and had no seasoning whatsoever as it did not taste anything like a HK-style Portuguese sauce. There was quite an abundance of raw onions served with the fish which was disappointing as I do prefer the onions to be softer in order to add a hint of sweetness to the lackluster sauce. Although this place can be a hit or miss for service (depending if you are a regular or not), I received pretty decent service from the wait staff. I know they can be quite the "interesting" bunch, but they have been like that for years. You really go to D & R's for a quick no-frills lunch/breakfast and if you are expecting 5-star service, well I would go to other places if I were you. It's not a bad place to check out. However, you do need to be careful of what you order. Try observing what around is ordering. If there is quite the number of the same dishes ordered by many tables, that's the go-to dish that the chef/cook is cooking up really well for the day.

Very disappointing. Granted it's like an old style Chinese/western style restaurant . Ordered the ox tongue in brown sauce. Rather hard and sauce was blah . Had to ask for more sauce cause it was dry over rice . The beef brisket was hard and quality was so-so. Their 'borscht' soup base was like it came out of a can ! Food was only luke warm when served . They have a steady flow of customers so obviously these people like the style and quality .

One of my go to HK style restaurant for breakfast. Their servers are very attentive and friendly as always. They have lots of breakfast combo to choose from, reasonable price but quality is good ! HK tea is hot and taste good!

I have no idea why D & R Wing's is called D & R Wing's!! Guys, don't get too excited.. this is not a Chicken Wings and Beer drinking place.. they don't even has a LCBO license and you won't find any of their TV showing any sport games, it is just another HK style Chinese Cafe! Lunch Specials from $5.99 that includes a soup and tea/coffee and yes you have to endure the indifferent services unless you are one of the regulars. All these older male regular patrons flirting with the waitresses did give me some sort of entertainment aside from the Chinese TV program showing on one of their TVs. Curry Chicken Lunch Set ($5.99) - There is nothing authentic about HK style cafe's curry.. it is more like a yellowish coloured curry look alike gravy with dark chicken meat and potato flowing inside - Huge portions of rice that will make any rice loving guys or growing teens happy D & R Wing's Restaurant is always crowded!! As I overheard the older couple next to me just finishing up lunch specials and now discussing what they should order for afternoon tea specials.. and I won't be surprise they might linger around till the dinner specials!! Cash Only!

D&R wing's restaurant have been at bamburgh for 20+ years. This place never fails. It's nice and quick to get HK style breakfast! Once you order, your meal will come out ~5mins. Once you step in to this place, it feels like you walked in to a 1990s HK cafeteria style place. Simple food, delicious and quick service! Never tried dinner here yet. Don't expect fancy service. just expect efficiency!

Baked fish casserole with cream sauce
    Clement R.

One of the neighbourhood's HK style cafe that has been around for a long time. Quite busy through out the day. So that is always a good sign of returning clients. Venue can be described as blend and simple? But this place isn't about venues or decor. Food wise, it is above average in terms of quality. They do make their food fast. So I ordered the baked fish casserole with cream sauce. It tastes just okay, more on the blend side? The quantity of fish fillets is pretty good. Just the pasta wasn't al dente (yeah, I've been spoiled by real Italian food). Service wise, the staff are on the ball. Got good attitude. So overall, not bad in terms of experience. But not great?

    Mugendd P.

2.6/5 Can probably find better value HK cafe esp. For dinner as they dont have combo, this review is for dinner had the baked pork chop the tomato sauce wasn't bad but no drink or soup was a deal breaker won't be coming back. This place is dim and needs a Reno unless you have a think for old dim old school bar area with scratch up mill work.

This place is OK... NOT the best, but definitely not the worse. Their price point is not too bad, and has all sorts of daily specials- True Breakfast special - only during breakfast hours, All Day Breakfast, Lunch Special (which is served all day), Tea Time Specials (NOT served all day), Sizzling Plate, Dinner, Noodle, Single Item Sandwich, Double Decker Sandwich... and then their regular menu items if those specials don't tickle your fancy. Their meals all come with your choice of Soup (Chinese or Russian Borscht), and Tea/ Coffee. Their food is a-ok to fill you up but don't expect fancy well prepared foods. They do have a liquor display but there are no pricing on their alcohols anywhere... maybe more for show? There is no TV showing the latest ASIAN IP-TV drama or news channel. Just a no frills go in, stuff your face silly and go on your way joint.

Initially we were going for the idea of breakfast, but timing was a bit off from what we anticipated and it was a really nice lunch date instead. I love the Markham Marriott, the staff is always warm and welcoming. Draco has a very sleek, sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. We both ordered Bacon & Cheddar burgers. I opted for a Caesar salad as an appetizer and hubby ordered their Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak. Let's start with the apps. The Caesar salad was SO good! I wish I had taken a pic, but admittedly, my phone was tucked away and I was caught up in the cozy seating, great food and Christmas vibes of the restaurant and lobby. Grilled Wagyu Flat Iron Steak: $33 - Buttercup Squash Puree and Truffle Oil - Everything you want Wagyu to be - tender, cooked to the perfect temp which left a nice warm red centre. This was melt in your mouth good! The burgers - these were perfection! Draco Bacon Cheddar Burger: $25 - Aged Cheddar with Crispy Bacon Strips; Crispy Onion Straws, Arugula and Garlic Aioli. This was a very well seasoned patty, so juicy and a substantial sized patty of fresh not frozen beef. The bun was lightly toasted, bacon crispy, easily taking this into my top 3 fav spots for burgers! Options for sides include fries, sweet potato fries, poutine, side Caesar or garden salad or truffle fries. We finished off our meal with 2 really good cappuccinos and just took our time before heading home. This was our first time back here in a few years. The food was exceptional as was the service and the warm staff. Draco is the perfect spot for an early morning breakfast, work or lunch date or a nice cozy dinner. They also have Christmas & New Years dinners and brunches. Relax in the restaurant with drinks or in the adjacent lounge, this is a great spot to unwind with some great food and drinks.

I decided to go for the baked seafood spaghetti with cold Dutch tea (both hot and cold drinks are at the same price!). The presentation was a bit messy but flavourful. I wish the staff gave extra plate for me to place the empty oyster and clam shell rather than pushing them to the edge of my plate. The staff never gave us any water until we asked. My timing to drop by Kiu after an afternoon matinee at Cineplex was also messed up. Kiu was always closed after the movie was over. All those weird scheduling issues went away when I attended a Yelp event last December. We got to enjoy more traditional Japanese offerings. Kiu wanted a bit of a change from being known as the ramen place. This eatery is on the second floor with Cineplex, GoodLife Fitness, and more. You can get here by escalator or elevator. The Yelp event had the best sashimi. I sampled scallops, shrimp, and deep-fried shrimp heads. I also enjoyed proteins. They included New Zealand lamb, amazu chicken, and calamari. This eatery also had sushi. The torched sushi was especially excellent. I still haven't had ramen here. Someday, I will! Recently, during Lunar New Year, I was invited to my friend's place for dinner. I brought a dish. She brought a Kiu platter. It had something like thirty pieces of sashimi. It was chef's choice with the varieties. Everything was exceptionally fresh and yummy. I'm drooling reminiscing about how good the sashimi was. It was nice to know that you can still get takeout from this restaurant. I got the impression that the owners wanted more folks to enjoy the experience at their eatery. It was still special devouring amazing sashimi at my friend's place. There are individual gender-neutral washroom stalls in this eatery. Each one was wheelchair-accessible. I appreciated the mouthwash and toothpicks in the one that I used. It was clean and felt fancy. It's a wonderful restaurant. There are items at various prices to suit your budget. I hope to get ramen one of these days, but I bet that I'll want the sushi and sashimi again! (42)

I had a very disappointing experience at Ichiban Markham today. The food was good, but the customer…read moreservice was very poor, especially from the manager, Kitty. When I called to make the reservation, the staff member was already impatient. I had several questions because I had two young children with me--one only one month old and the other two years old. I specifically asked for a high chair and space for a stroller, but she said she was too busy to discuss these details. When we arrived, our table was surrounded by sofas, with no space for a stroller or high chair. We were late because we had two babies to take care of, and there was an accident and heavy traffic on the way. When we arrived, Kitty immediately blamed us for being late and told us that our reservation was at 6:00 PM and that we had to leave at 7:30 because another customer was coming. I understand that we were late, but her attitude was extremely rude, harsh, and unprofessional. She spoke to us in an accusatory way instead of calmly explaining the situation. There were also several problems with how the reservation was handled. First, the information about the reservation "sitting time" was misleading and inconsistent. When I made the reservation, I was specifically told that the "order sitting time" was 1.5 hours. I asked more than once to clarify, and I was told this meant we needed to place our food order within that time. I was never told that we would have to leave exactly 1.5 hours after our reservation time. However, when we arrived, Kitty told us that because our reservation was at 6:00 PM, even if we arrived later, we would still have to leave at 7:30 PM. She also specifically said this policy applied only to customers with reservations. This was completely different from what we had been told over the phone. Second, the reservations are scheduled far too tightly, with no reasonable buffer between bookings. It is unrealistic to expect every customer to arrive exactly on time. Unexpected delays can happen due to traffic, accidents, parking, or other unforeseen circumstances, especially for families with young children. A restaurant should allow reasonable flexibility and have some buffer time between reservations rather than treating the reservation time as an inflexible deadline. If the restaurant intends to enforce a strict 1.5-hour seating limit starting from the reservation time, regardless of when the customer actually arrives, this should be clearly communicated at the time of booking. Customers should not learn about such an important restriction only after arriving. Third, even though we were late, nobody called to confirm whether we were still coming or remind us about the seating time. We only learned about the restriction after arriving, and it was communicated in a very unfriendly manner. When I asked to speak with someone above Kitty, she became even more upset, said she did not want to talk to us, and walked away. For a manager, this was extremely disappointing. A manager should be able to communicate calmly and professionally with customers, even when the restaurant is busy. We were paying customers celebrating my father's birthday, with two very young children. We came to enjoy a meal, not to be treated disrespectfully. Thankfully, another staff member, Lily (I believe that was her name, a tall woman with a braid), stepped in and helped calm the situation. We really appreciated her kindness. The food and variety were actually quite good, which makes the poor customer service even more disappointing. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and provides Kitty with proper customer-service training. Being busy is understandable, but it is never an excuse to treat customers rudely.

First time visiting this AYCE spot, as we wanted to try something new without making the drive to…read moreour usual go-to restaurant. It's located in the same plaza as Smash Kitchen and has a large, free parking lot. Despite how busy the plaza was, we had minimal trouble finding a spot. We made a reservation for 7:00 p.m. for a group of eight and were seated immediately upon arrival. They use iPads for ordering, and I appreciated that our table was given two iPads with different table numbers. It meant dishes were delivered to the correct side of the table, rather than having everyone ask who had ordered what. It was extremely busy, likely because it was the Sunday of the Civic Holiday long weekend, but the staff remained attentive throughout our visit. They were quick to respond when we had questions about our orders, acknowledged our thanks, and followed up well. Some dishes took a little longer to arrive, but order accuracy was consistently high. I also liked that the iPad clearly showed how many pieces came with each order, and the portions matched exactly what we received, making it easy to avoid over-ordering. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty. A few of the specialty rolls were a bit heavier on the sauce than we would have preferred, but everything else was enjoyable. We also appreciated the small self-serve station with salad, soup, fruit, puddings, and ice cream, which added a nice traditional buffet feel to the experience. One thing to note is that drinks are not included in the AYCE price, with only water and tea being complimentary. That said, the staff were very attentive with refills, and empty plates were cleared promptly throughout the meal. The only real drawback for us was the noise level. The restaurant was very loud, making it difficult to carry on conversations at our table. It was likely amplified by how busy the restaurant was, but it's something to keep in mind if you're hoping for a quieter dining experience. The two-hour seating limit is also closely monitored. We received a reminder around the 1.5-hour mark, along with notice that last call for orders was approaching, so it's worth keeping an eye on the time if you plan on taking your time.
