Honestly wouldn't even come here they glued my transmission and everything instead of letting me know they broke my transmission and tried gluing other parts so if you want your stuff glued this is the shopinstead of fixing problems they cause it more. Save your car and money. read more

We had been taking our vehicles here for a while and thought we were dealing with a competent shop. Turns out we were wrong. Once Cora got there Is when we started to have problems. They switched companies that had all the records of vehicles they've worked on and lost the info on my pick up that I had to bring in to show them to prove what I was complaining about was in fact something they had charged me for. When I told them it was never fixed properly because the issue never went away, they said they couldn't replicate it so they couldn't fix it. They replaced the starter and that's done nothing. They claimed to have replaced that again when I went back in which was my mistake. I should have learned from it not being fixed the first time they wouldn't come through if given another opportunity. They are shady and not who you want to trust your vehicle with. They're a cash grab, that's all. The owner should be absolutely ashamed. For being a ford f150 guy yet can't figure it out. read more

As I was away for training in the military my wife noticed a slow leak of antifreeze so I had her bring it in to D&S Autocare. They found a leak in a hose, replaced the hose ($500+dollars later). Drives the car full of kids two hours down the road when the car overheated and looks under the hood to find they did not put the clamps on the hose to make sure it stays connected. They "reimbursed" us for the three gallons of fluid she had to walk and get but they should be reimbursing us for the whole amount. Don't trust them with fixing simple things on your car. read more

My family and I have been seeing D&S for 5 years, we bring all of our vehicles here. D&S is reliable, trustworthy, and they do honest good work. Very nice people, great customer service. I always know when I take my car to D&S it's going to be in good hands, and taken care of. The only issue I have is the pricing. I took my car to get replacement spark plugs, and an oil change.. diagnostic alone is $150. Total overall was $520, but that's mainly due to labor costs. Pretty steep for a small fix on a 10yr old compact vehicle, but I was especially shocked because I was quoted $364 before service was done. (probably quoted price before taxes, & labor costs were added) Overall I would recommend D&S if you don't mind spending some extra money for some good, reliable service. read more

So impressed with this place. Had to jump my husbands SUV this morning and immediately took it to Autolube, which I picked based off of good online reviews. I'm a mechanics daughter, picky about where I take my vehicles and wanted to avoid big name companies and getting ripped off. The gentleman behind the counter was quick, polite and showed me the coffee, water and super comfy couches while I was waiting. I used their wifi with no problems for my 1-1.5 hour wait, which is pretty impressive since I dropped in without an appointment to get a battery charge, oil change, tail light replaced and a seal replaced. They checked with me before doing anything above what I came in for and the end price was extremely good, even before military discount! They quoted me on spark plugs, which was within $10 of the quote I had previously received from a shop on base. I will be back! read more

I own a pretty used car...and I was having trouble with my car accelerating when I wasn't even pressing down on the gas. I called in the morning and he had an opening in an hour. :) Dave was so personable and I felt well taken care of. The waiting room was cozy as well which didn't make the wait horrible. Have been taking both auto's here since I moved to Lakewood 3 years ago. HONEST & KNOWLEGABE PEOPLE!!! Took one car in last year to look at the brakes. "They have 40%...come back in the spring." Firestone wanted $178!!! (another story) to warrenty out and replace a 72 month battery that lasted 30 months........Auto Lube sold and installed a 72 month battery for $95. They installed an oil sensor unit on the other car that went south after a year(oil light on all the time) and they replaced it free...no labor charge either. Did a full brake job on my older Stratus....well done job and reasonable. These folks are a great find....esp. if you are not car savvy . I have heard them speak to customers (esp. women) and everything I heard was straight up no BS info. Not trying to turn a $100 job into a $500 job.. I moved to Tacoma area recently from Anchorage, Alaska and needed a place to go when my car started having issues. The people at NAPA across the street suggested AutoLube Tire so I figured I would give it a chance. My battery was putting out way too much voltage so I hopped over to AutoLube right before they closed. Although they weren't able to fix it until the next day, they were able to tell me that my car should be fine to get me to work the next day, and that I should bring my car in ASAP. I brought in my car the next day and the servicemen replaced my alternator right away. They also spotted a cracked timing belt and called me with a very reasonable quote, which saved me a bunch of money in the long run! I wasn't charged for any extra labor either. The facility was clean and everyone was extremely friendly, prompt, and respectful. I have and will continue to go back here for all my automotive needs. read more

Update: months after D&S fixed my car, it started having the same type of problems, Miss fire in cylinder 3. D&S had just changed all 6 of my coil paks. Turns out 1 was a bad part on #3, they changed it out... for FREE.... I couldn't believe it! Thought for sure I would have to pay for labor... especially seeing how much work was involved just to get to #3. So great to see a garage that stands behind their work and products. My visit on Sat. 11/24/12 was the third visit with in the last year. I always brought my Truck and my wife's car. Saturday a Ratchet and socket were left on my vehicle and after about a mile a hed a very loud thump, and seen something fly off my truck. I turned around and thats when I discovered the wrench. I was concerned about damage to my vehicle. when I returned to the store and let them know, the mechanic came out and looked for less than 10 seconds and laughed and returned to the store and said have a good day. Almost a year ago I again went to Lakewood Auto on gravelly lake rd. on a saturday, after the oil change I drove to portland, I soon (after arriving in portland)had an indicator light come on and I looked under the hood, There was oil all over the engine, the oil was almost all gone ant the oil filter was ready to fall off. needless to say your guys forgot to tighten it down and it almost cost me an engine. I believe it was the same mechanic as this past saturday. After the first time I realized accidents do happen and decided to remain using Lakewood auto. But after this second time I realized that it must be incompetence and therefore I will need to find another autolube place to do business with. Pretty sad that a woman walks in, waits a few minutes and has to make eye contact with an employee before even getting acknowledged when it's not busy. Then I have to wait a half hour before getting a simple oil change when the bays are empty? I think not! Dave and Chris are both amazing. My car was in an accident and it felt unstable when I was driving it. The first shop gave me an estimate to fix the rear corner bumper and some scuffed paint for 1095.00. said it felt sound to drive. I took it over to Dave my regular mechanic and Chris put it up on the ramp and saw immediately that my bumper had been broken in half under the cover. My engine mount was broken and my tie rod. They dealt directly with my insurance and suggested some deferred maintenance I had forgotten about while they had my car anyway. I will never take my car anywhere else. I've been going here for a little while and I've always had great service. The staff is extremely nice, friendly, and the work is well done. Prices are great too! Never very expensive. I've had a lot of problems with Jiffy Lube, even with simple oil changes, so this place is such a relief. They've always been able to see me either same-day or at my convenience the next day. I recently got my timing belt replaced for hundreds of dollars less than other places because they don't charge outlandishly high prices for labor but the work done is still good. Very friendly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable staff at Auto Lube of Lakewood. My 12 year old SUV ran like a new vehicle after the service and maintenance it received. They even dealt with a warranty issue on a part I had purchased elsewhere and installed myself, an O2 sensor that went bad within the warranty period, so that I didn't have to pay for the same part twice! The estimates are about 1/2 what other big name auto service shops have quoted me (Yes I am eyeballing you Firestone!) and they didn't try to up-sell me with services that weren't needed. They didn't talk over my head; when I didn't understand, they changed the wording and/or showed me until I did. Great shop, with great mechanics! They are a community shop, and promote their neighbors businesses as well. I know I won't be bringing my vehicles anywhere else anytime soon. read more

I had a problem with the front disc brakes on my Jeep occasionally locking up and not releasing when the vehicle was driven in stop and go traffic on a hot day. Took it to D&S. They inspected the brakes and then showed me the brakes are all in good shape and don't need any work, but the brake fluid is old and dirty and has moisture in it, so the brake lines needed flushing and fluid replacement, which is what they did. They said moisture in the brake fluid will expand and even turn to steam in hot weather stop and go driving, which will cause increased pressure in the brake lines - causing the brakes to engage even when not activated. That made more sense than anything anyone else has told me about this problem - even the Jeep dealer. One place said I needed an entire brake overhaul job, which I knew wasn't true and got out of there as quickly as possible. -- It's been a week and the brake problem hasn't reoccurred even in hotter weather than before, so it looks like their diagnosis was correct and the repair fixed the problem for a minimum cost. D&S did only what was needed to fix the problem, and that's really rare nowadays, so I give them high marks for their service, and highly recommend them to anyone needing work on their vehicle. -- I took one star away, because I had an appointment for first thing in the morning -- got there ahead of my appointment, and then waited for the Jeep to be taken back to the garage. While I was waiting, another car arrived. They obviously didn't have an appointment - just came in and told them what their car problem was. Someone went out to their car to inspect it and then took it back to the garage immediately - leaving my Jeep still waiting. That didn't set well with me at all, but it was the only thing they did wrong. read more
