Shellac nails done today. The price was reasonable. I was a walk-in and was in quickly. I had a previous layered shellac design the was filed down the a dremel. The technician removed the rest with acetate then buffed our the nail. He didn't bothered to wipe off or have me wash the nail dust on my hands before he put a clear base coat on. I am curious if this will mess up how long they last. At one point he forgot to turn on the drying lamp right away and didn't let the full timer finish before he wanted to start the next layer. I felt like he was rushing. At the end he said "go wash your hands" and when I came back there was a lady there ready to collect the money. No "thank you, come again". I really appreciate good customer service when I am spending my hard earned money to pamper myself. I won't be back. read more

I usually get both a mani and pedi. Prices are very competitive and reasonable. They have a large selection of colors and applications, but if don't find what you're looking for they are always open to requests. My nails look great for weeks and that says a lot considering I'm pretty tough on them at work. The deluxe pedi is awesome! This is my FAVORITE nail place to go to! Everyone is very friendly, and speak the English language 90% of the time. Yvonne, has done my nails 5 out of the 6 times I've had then done there and she's excellent! My nails last more than two weeks, even though I'm rough on them at work and she does the most beautiful designs! When getting my nails done I like for my nail tech to have a conversation with me, other wise it's awkward and everyone at JJ's makes sure there's never awkward silence! Friend of mine suggested this place after she's been going there for years. So I gave it a shot. Polishes are old as hell, to the point that they're seperating. They didn't have any new nail colors. I went in for a gel full set. All of my nails aren't even at all, my thumb nail is longer than the other thumb nail. I wanted long nails, and they said they'd charge me for it. Most places do that, so I didn't have an issue. But then she cut them way too short, and still charged me for long nails. Honestly, I didn't have the time to ask her to take them off...or else I would have. Had my tips painted, and it is so thick you can feel it on there. She rushed the whole process, and it shows. Inside is disgusting. All the chairs were ripped and you could see the nail dust pile up on the stations. They never made an effort to even clean up, and just wiped the nail dust on the floor. Other places leave it in the towel, and then dispose it. Never got a towel to keep things sanitary, tools were old and needed replacing. For the money I paid, I could've went to a way nicer place. Never going back here. Don't waste your time. read more

I went here while I was visiting my boyfriend. I've been getting shellac for a year now and I was really pleased with they way they took the previous coat off. You couldn't beat the prices either! I got my shellac manicure and a pedicure for $47. Usually my nails alone are $35 where I normally go. I was going to make the 30 minute drive out there UNTIL after the second day of my manicure, my nail chipped! I'm so angry! My previous manicure lasted 4 weeks without a single chip, it just grew out! Hate to say, I won't be going back. The prices are very nice, but you get what you pay for. read more

Despite the bad reviews, my friend showed me this place and I have been going here ever sense. I live in Canton and the salons there charge so much for what I like to get (acrylic nails w/ shellac polish) around $40 they'd charge so I tried here and I have never been disappointed, a fill for my acrylics with shellac costs me $24 here and it has lasted me a month, I usually go every two weeks but I've kept my nails on for a month before and yes they were grown out but not one nail broke or chipped and they still looked great besides the growing out. The owners are always nice and there's never much of a wait. The pedicures are also amazing, they take their time and do a good job! I LOVE the way the girl there does my eyebrows also, she is very thorough and makes sure she does them perfectly. I've personally never had a bad experience here and I will keep giving them my business. read more

I was just driving by and decided to try them out on a pedicure I haven't had one in years it was the best pedicure I have ever had I will go back for another one very soon not to mention it wasn't expensive and I got what they call the deluxe pedicure they have a Monday thur Wednesday special only $5 more I have to say I would have paid way more for it and not have complained once about it by far the best place ever read more

He acted like he would rather be anywhere but there, never smiled, gave terse answers to my questions, etc. My nails look great but I didn't appreciate being treated like that, especially being a brand new customer. I recently moved to Westland & this is the first nail salon in the area that I have tried. Today I decided to treat myself to a mani-pedi, & JJ Nails was less than a mile from my apartment, so I gave it a go. My first impression was that it looks like a typical, small nail salon. There was nothing special or luxurious/relaxing about it. It was as simple as simple could be, & that's fine, but I hope to find a nicer place than this in Westland...anyway, I was greeted immediately & had no wait after I picked out my nail color, which was great. I got a wonderfully done pedicure with heated towels, hot stones, & a foot massage (basic pedi, not deluxe). The lady scraped so much of my dead skin & worked off my calluses, it was amazing, I have brand new feet! My manicure was great as well, it wasn't painful to get my cuticles worked on & I was given a wonderful hand massage as well. The mani-pedi came to $32, which was affordable, & including the 10min dry time for my nails, I was out in an hour. So, the ambiance is definitely lacking. HOWEVER, the service & product left me satisfied. read more

Went there to get my nails done because my sister and aunt always go here and they look great but when I went the guy was really rude for no reason at all, he filed my real nails down so much they almost weren't there then when he did the acrylic nails they were all uneven and bent down. My nails throbbed for days and hurt so bad when I tryed to grab anything and it didn't get any better until they fully grew back out. The nail polish was old and wore of very fast. I tried them again for my eyebrows a couple months later and I walked in and no one else was waiting and I told them what I needed, then someone else walked in for nails and another walked in for eyebrows. They called back both people before me even though I was there way before them. I had to wait until she finished doing the nails and my eyebrows didn't even look good. All they needed was to be cleaned up and she made them very uneven. Even though I was never happy with anything about going here I was always very polite and always gave a tip. Never gave them a reason to be rude. Also the place is very dirty and the stations had nail dust all over them and all over the floor. Don't recommend that at all. read more
