Beware of service! They charge for tire rotation they don't do! This is the second time they have supposedly rotated the tires. Called them out this time as tires were marked to make sure they actually rotated them. Tired to show a blurry video saying the marked tires moved but no footage showing them actually physically moving back to front. I was very impressed with their service on my Ioniq5. I had scheduled a LCC (low conductivity coolant) service which I ran into a lot of problems trying to get done in the Indianapolis area at a price even close to D'Arcy. Only $273. Dominik was excellent as a service advisor and understood my concern that the proper coolant is being replaced. To that end he brought the tech over to me while I waited in the customer area to discuss what he would be doing. This going the extra mile was much appreciated. I had mentioned that several other owners had the wrong fluid or couldn't get the service done. The waiting area was very nicely equipped and comfortable. My wife was with me and she appreciated the Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate. They also had soft drinks, water and snacks. We expected the service to take a few hours but it was done within a couple of hours. To top it off they did what none of the dealers did around Indianapolis and that is wash and vacuum the car. The service bays were very clean and showroom was very nice and clean also. We especially appreciate that we can see our cars being worked on from the waiting area. read more

I genuinely hope this review saves someone from the four weeks of frustration this dealership put me through. What should have been a fun, exciting car-buying process turned into nonstop hoop-jumping, contradictory information, and some of the most questionable sales tactics I've ever seen. From the moment we walked in, the tone was off. Rafael greeted us by asking if we "came in the vintage Hyundai" -- referring to my 2015 Tucson. Odd comment, especially from a dealership that should be thrilled to see one of their cars holding up well. We found a vehicle we liked and sat down to discuss numbers. They refused to negotiate even a dollar off the price and insisted on charging a mandatory ~$400 fee for "pulse brake lights" they had added. The part couldn't cost more than $25, and the labor maybe half an hour. Yet they told us it was a "loser car" and that they were "making no money on it." They also stressed repeatedly that they "don't work on commission." If they had budged even a little, we would have bought the car. Instead, we left -- and within three days the price was dropped online by $500. So much for "no room to negotiate." They didn't follow up with us for more than a week, either. Clear sign of how badly they wanted our business. After the price dropped, I spoke with their manager, Joe. We reached a verbal agreement, and they were supposed to send the pricing sheet. Instead, I got a generic text saying the deal was "on hold" because someone else was suddenly looking at the car. Convenient. An hour later another manager claimed they "no longer had possession of the car." Yet the car remained listed online for days afterward--now at an even lower price. They also ignored all my follow-up messages. Four weeks after our first visit, my boyfriend called them. They negotiated freely with him and reached a price. But when we said we'd be financing independently, suddenly the out-the-door price was $500 higher than the number they had just agreed to. That's not only unethical -- it's extremely close to bushing, a practice that is illegal in many states. When I questioned the sudden price increase, the sales manager claimed he was "overriding" the original deal because of the "liability of an out-of-state transaction." They title out-of-state all the time. The real issue was obvious: if we didn't finance through them, they weren't making money off the loan. And here's the part I hate saying, but I can't ignore it: the second I walked in as a young blonde woman, they sized me up. They assumed I'd be an easy win, someone they could make extra profit off of. When I pushed back, did my homework, and got them down to a fair price, suddenly they didn't want to honor anything. They chose to "pass on the deal" because I wasn't profitable enough for them. This was, without exaggeration, the worst car-shopping experience of my life. Do not waste your time here -- no matter how much you want the car. You will be punished for being an informed consumer. I called and made an appointment for a new tire. I told them I have a tire plan. However I had to switch the appointment and the note never transferred over. I was charged almost $500 for the tire. They found a leak from my (newer) vehicle during my MPI and didn't tell me. So I waited with my vehicle, meaning I was there the entire time, and once it was completed they sent me off with a paper report. The paper sheet had zero mention of a leak, and the man I spoke to before leaving said nothing of it either. No missed calls from anyone leading up to about 3 days later when I received an email summarizing my visit. I almost didn't open it because it should've told me everything I already knew, right, but for whatever reason I did. The email noted my car had a dang leak! What?! So I called and no one was available to pick up, ended up text messaging with someone who told me the reason this happened was because their texting system was down that day. There are several reasons that makes ZERO sense but I'll save us all the time. Save yourself some time too and take your vehicle elsewhere with better communication if you actually care about the condition of your car! I went in about few weeks ago and payed over 190dollars for a vehicle inspection. They told me nothing about my cabin air filter or engine air filter which are covered in leaves that it needed to be replaced. They assured me that the dashboard light going off was not harmful, but never witnessed it even after a 5 mi. ride. Looks like something I'll have to live with. Did not disassemble the dash after saying they would. Was there for a recall and decided to have a few things checked. For whatever reason, they did not charge me anything for the diagnostics. It certainly was an added treat to have my car washed and vacuumed. Thinking of coming back if it's not too expensive. Time will tell. read more

Fantastic Repair Service at D'Arcy Hyundai!! D'Arcy Hyundai's Service Department delivered amazing, top-notch repair service for our Santa Fe on a recent cross-country trip (June 2023). Our Santa Fe had a catastrophic engine failure on I-80 near Minooka, and it required a complete engine replacement. We had the vehicle towed to the D'Arcy Hyundai on 2521 W. Jefferson Street in Joliet on Sunday night, and first thing Monday morning we were in touch with Service Manager John Wagner, who prioritized the diagnostic check and repair. His service team determined that the engine needed complete replacement - failure of the rod bearings - and confirmed that the major repair of our 9-year old Santa Fe was within the 10-year Hyundai warranty, and would be completed AT NO COST TO US. !!! Remarkably, he quickly tracked down a brand new Santa Fe engine in the Chicago area supply chain, and completed the installation (plus a recommended transmission flush) within a day and a half, in plenty of time for us to pick up the vehicle Thursday morning after we had finished our Chicago and Indiana appointments. This evening (6/29) we arrived in Nebraska following the 450 mile "test drive" home from Joliet, and we are completely satisfied with the engine installation job of the D'Arcy service team: the vehicle runs smoothly with no vibration, has good power and acceleration, and achieved 27 MPG performance at highway speeds of 70 MPH and higher. We covered the 454 mile distance in 7 and a half driving hours with no problem - a fantastic repair. We are extremely grateful to John Wagner, Frank, and the D'Arcy service department for making this major repair for us on an emergency basis. We could not be more pleased or satisfied with the result. We recommend D'Arcy Hyundai's service without hesitation, and are glad (and fortunate) that our Santa Fe's catastrophic breakdown happened to be within 20 miles of D'Arcy in Joliet. I have had 4 major safety issues with my car over the past year and all 4 times it was impossible to book an appointment less than 1-2 months in advance. I have an old car with 169,0000 miles, which is not their fault, obviously, but I have been a loyal customer for 11 years. Now appointments are being scheduled by desk girls who don't know me and clearly don't care about customer service instead of the service department. The service department is incredible because they do little things like washing your car, vacuuming the floor boards and shuttling you locally if you need a ride. I recently had a screw in my back passenger tire. Me being a girl (I know sterotype) I had no clue how to put the spare on. So I called and asked if they could fix it. I was told they were there until 4pm. But it wouldn't be advisable to drive it all the way there since I was a half hour away and losing so much air. So my only option was to call for a tow. It took him awhile to get to me. Then with traffic it took us about 45 minutes to get to the dealer. When we got there it was 6 minutes to 4pm. Jayson there was nothing he could do. Service here has always been pleasant, reliable, and relatively fast. Not sure what happened today. Was in for an oil change, rotation, and diagnostic. Figured the latter could take a while, so I waited patiently. The service person who checked me in passed by many times, called names, but never mine, so I waited longer. Finally, after being there 3 hours, I went to look for my car, which was parked outside the service area! Finished and ready to go while I waited to never get called! Asked the cashier if she had the paperwork, and of course she did. Pulled it right out of the drawer, claiming to not know how long it'd been there. Service staff that do their due diligence would've been great. Perhaps a little less playing and laughing at name pronunciations would help the 2 cashiers fulfill their job responsibilities to customers as well. While they're having fun, they're wasting folks' time. **Update**: for as long as I waited, no one told me I'd have to come back because a part was ordered to address a recall. In fact, the cashier told me the recall work was done. I'll go back for that, but I'm not sure I'll return for future service.
