We've had Mike and Brynn do family pictures for us twice now. They both immediately connected with our kids and made them feel very comfortable. Loved working with Mike and Brynn! We live in SF but were having the wedding in Newport Beach. We had a limited budget, but they were super accommodating and made it work - we were able to have an engagement session in my favorite city, here in SF of course, and then have them be our photographers in OC for the wedding. Most people probably haven't done photo shoots in the past, but they put us at ease from the very beginning. There were no "glamour shot" photos that looked awkward, they were able to find angles/poses/shots that made us look like us. The pictures for both came out natural and made us look awesome! The D'Avellos are AMAZING! I cannot sing their praises enough. My husband and I are shy and awkward at first meeting and we definitely aren't what one would call photogenic, but Brynn & Mike did a great job at making us feel not only comfortable but also like we had made new awesome friends, and they also managed to make us look nice in photographs and not like complete awkward beasts that we are. Brynn and Mike are amazing! I really can't oversell them and their work. They were the second photographers my now-husband and I met with, and as soon as we got in the car after the meeting, we knew we were going to hire them for our wedding. Right from the start, they were so friendly, easy to get along with, and accommodating. Going into the search, we hadn't planned on doing an engagement shoot at all. They convinced us to do it as a way to break the ice and get comfortable with being photographed (and the shoot is included anyway with their wedding packages!), and we are so glad we did. Even though we are both pretty camera-shy, we had a fantastic time on the shoot. Neither of us felt uncomfortable at all: it was more like hanging out with friends than being on display. And the pictures were incredible! On our wedding day, everything went perfectly as well. They got so many amazing shots that perfectly captured our personalities and relationship. Every shot is perfect and beautiful, and I don't know how I will choose which ones to display in our home! Our friends and family have been raving about the pictures as well. Aside from the amazing experience and the photos themselves, the delivery had so many nice touches as well. We chose not to include a wedding album in our package, and instead purchased digital copies of all the photos. The engagement photos came on a cd in a fun case, and included three cute accordion photo displays. The wedding photos came on a really nice USB drive in a custom wooden box with our names inscribed on the top, along with prints of dozens of the best photos. I don't know if that's what they do for every client, but it was just perfect for us! My only regret is that I don't have any more events on the horizon that need a photographer.
