On one side of the coin, Seriously excellent pizza... on the other side, horrendous customer service. I placed an order for pick up because of the reviews. We walked in, waited behind one person and then stood at the counter. There were 3 people there: an older woman on the phone taking an order (I think), a guy making pizzas and a younger woman dressed in some sort of netted hosiery outfit (to each his own). None of them even said hello. I totally understand the woman on the phone, but we got dirty looks from the younger lady and zero acknowledgment from the guy. I understand you are probably busy, but if you're going to look at your customers while you walk by them several times, you should probably greet them. Honestly, it's just normal human decency. The area is super cute and quaint, this place is definitely a mom & pop shop- which is a shame because that's where we'd normally be treated the best (I' ve been treated better at a dominoes pizza than here.) I literally asked for paper plates (my order was over $50) and got told yes by the younger lady. Then, she walked away and we just stood at the counter waiting for her to bring them to us but she disappeared. After a few minutes, I asked the older lady if the other one was coming back with our plates... because she just left us standing there and completely ignored my request. The other lady gave me plates and giggled, but seriously, why tell us to hang on for a sec only for you to walk away and never return to help us? The mozzarella sticks were hard, not gooey like you'd expect. Our house salad looks great and the pizza was some of the best I've ever had - and, that is saying something. It really was perfect. We got the "special" and bbq chicken pizzas. It's truly a shame they put a damper on this pizza with horrible customer service. If you're in the area, just order for delivery and do not pick up or eat there. They may be totally different with locals, but I couldn't tell you that. If you're just visiting or staying a Great Wolf, order it but don't be shocked when you don't even get a thank you for patronizing their spot. read more

We are staying at the Great Wolf Lodge and decided to try this place out as everything at the lodge costs an arm and a leg. I just want to say thank you to the owner, he was super friendly! They offered us free drink as we wait for our food. I ordered $90 worth of food thinking that it may be able to feed a family of 5, but instead... it is probably good to feed a family of 15 (literally). The portion size is extremely generous! Their tomatoes sauces for our gigantic Stromboli tastes fresh and amazing. Their pizza is like New York style, nice thin with a delicious crust. The texture was perfect! I also got the crab salad which was good as well. They put a generous amount of real crab meat on it. We forgot to ask for extra plates and silverware's, but it's ok, great wolf lodge had some in their lobby. If you're around here, give this mom and pop shop a try!!! My family and I went here after hearing others talk about it. We are from Oxford and even with all of the pizza places there none of them are really worth visiting. From the moment we walked into this place I realized it was the type of pizza restaurant I have been search for. The building itself is older and gives you that small town feel. We sat down at a small table and was greeted by a friendly waitress. The menu contains all of the options you would expect from a pizza place but we were here strictly for their pizza. We were NOT disappointed. The pizza crust was on the thinner side with a little bit of crisp to it and tasted great. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese was high quality (not too greasy). The best part were the toppings. They were fresh ingredients. Sausage and mushrooms were fresh and not from a can. The black olives had a great taste to them too. This pizza was one of, if not the best pizzas I have had in the area. Hartford County and Delaware included. The only thing that would have made this experience even more enjoyable is if they had more than one waitress working. The restaurant got busy quickly on this Sunday afternoon and the poor waitress quickly was in over her head. She was very apologetic and nice though. Amazing owners...at least at one time...not sure what happened to the personable Italian and Costa Rican proprietors whom were always so welcoming. Won't call again. read more

Start to finish - this was the worst dining experience of my life. I have never bothered to post a review before but in all good conscience, I had to warn anyone else considering this place for dinner. Before we walked in... we already were unsure, the place looked old and tired from the outside. Parking in the back and having to go up a flight of stair we debated about just leaving and going to one of the other places to dine right there that looked more updated. (We should have.) We just wanted some great Italian food though. The decor inside was like a horders house. Cluttered, dusty, had a layer of grease feel on everything on the table and shakers which sucked since the food... definitely needed salt and pepper. There was a small "bar area" which we hadn't come for drinks but after seeing the taped up chairs and table cloths realized maybe you have to get drunk to eat here. So skipping drinks since we just wanted a good homemade fresh Italian meal we got our menus with a hefty smell of marijuana. I know it's decriminalized in Maryland but it's still federally very illegal and a scheduled narcotic. We should have just left than. So we ordered our food and it didn't come out in the right timing. The food was bland, frozen tasting and well easily microwaved. I've gotten better frozen Italian food from the grocery store. That's what we got after having to look at a book sized menu that was all over the place. It felt like a restaurant in a mid-life balding man crisis. There was Italian, Greek, American (family style comfort foods and diner foods) and Spanish menu choices. The pricing was okay for fresh, seasoned food but for what we got...I could have gotten double in my grocery stores freezer section that would have tasted better. Heard a guy talking with some sort of accent saying he was the owner while trying to eat the "homemade Itallian" food but I have no idea. He came off as friendly creepy. Probably just an employee trying to get a date from how he was acting. It was just plain uncomfortable. The staff seemed more interested in when they were closing so even they could run instead of just decent service to paying customers. So the check came and like I said just overpriced for the quality of the food and atmosphere. At that point I was wishing I had gotten a beer but given the selection we overheard the table next to us get offered... just outdated and probably bought from the local liquor store. So quick stop in the bathrooms for us before we left and I wish to God I would have saw them first. We would have just straight left. One was saturated in bathroom spray and a concentration of marijuana. The mens urinal had ice in it and wouldn't flush. (Were they making snow cones in there?!) The other just dirty. Trash overflowing, faint smell of urine and just you can tell it has never been deep cleaned. If something so simple as the bathrooms and tables (napkin holders, salt and pepper) can't be kept clean than what on earth does the kitchen look like? The semi peep we did get through a door made me cringe. I really hope we don't get sick from eating here. We will never eat there again and we hope others take heed and not eat there as well. It was not worth it in any aspect. There is plenty of other places available in the area. read more

Prepare yourself for a cold, inedibble pizza that you'de swear was cooked 3 days earlier. If you are thinking about hot goo-ey delicious cinnamon balls drizzled with delicious icing..... WAKE UP..... You will get a bag of rocks that have a slight odor of cinnamon.... And whatever you do... Dont call and ask why you have to wait an hour and 20 minutes because they'll just thinking youre complaining and want free food..... The Owners dont get it! They dont realize people like hot food.... DONT COOK IT UNLESS ITS READY TO BE DELIVERED!! They cook it, let it sit for an hour and then throw 20 of them on one driver...... When people are ordering pizza, they expect it to arrive at least warm.... I'll bet its pretty decent pizza but I guess I'll never know how good it is when its hot.... Cheap fried food that doesn't taste like cheap fried food...pretty awesome. We took Route1 up to avoid the extortionous toll on 95 and decided to take 222 back down (as we were going to Elkton). I thought that 222 would be more scenic (it's not, really), but we drove through Port Deposit, which is a really cool quaint town. As we were passing through, we decided to stop and get some lunch. Checked Yelp and the place we originally decided to try was closed so we strolled in here. It's nothing special. It looks like any sub/pizza shop with an attached seating section. But this is the best pizza I've had since I've been in MD. I don't know what they do. It's not gourmet. It's just regular pizzeria pizza, and it was non-greasy (even though we had bacon on the pizza.....hmmm....bacon) and the crust was great. That's all we should have ordered, but my husband ordered a crab quesadilla and it was good as well as fried mushrooms, and they were good. The things we had that were fried were fried to perfection without excess oil and the pizza too was without oil. I'm really happy we stopped here. The drinks are limited to pepsi products (which I hate so I had apple juice) and beer. read more

"Hey buddy!" This was the greeting I'd get everytime I'd walk into this small mom & pop pizza joint on Main St. in Port. I lived across the street from them a few years ago and they were always happy to serve. It's one of those places where they are happy you're there but are not all falling over themselves to keep your business. They don't have to because they're good people with a good product and that's all they need to be. The food is always good, the specials are generous. The inside dining can be cramped because it's a small space but they have a few small tables outside for proper people watching in Port Deposit. Excellent food, friendly staff. I have really great meals both eating at the restaurant and via carry out. Subs are generous plus you have a choice of a traditional sub roll or homemade soft roll. The food is consistantly good and reasonably priced. They make a solid 4.5 star pizza. After my last experience, that is where the good ends and the reality that I am in Port Deposit sets in. Walking up the back deck steps, they look like they have been closed for a week. The umbrellas are all down, there are leaves and dirt on the tables, the ashtrays are filled with water from the last rain, and there is a table with someone's finished dishes and glasses but no customers around. The restroom looks like it was cleaned last month, but everything was in working order. Now to the inside. There are again no customers, but the small bar (4 seats total) is taken up with 2 plates of half eaten food taking up the middle 2 seats. The end seat has the stack of menus blocking it, so there is one available seat against the wall for anyone who would like to have a drink next to 2 plates of leftover half eaten food. But yet there is a server "working". I guess she was so busy with her personal life and seemed to not care about her job to the point of doing nothing. I enjoy trying to support these local businesses and I usually tip extra when I know they would rather not be working here and have few customers on a slow day. But how do you expect anyone to want to eat here and give a decent tip for no work and eat in a place with half eaten plates of food left on tables? I was thinking of trying to explain what customer service is but I knew it would come across wrong and not be worth my time. It was so gross I decided to get my food to go. I had to update my review to give people who read Yelp reviews an honest opinion of what to expect from the service here, which is almost nothing. And it is a shame, since the servers here in the past have been decent, or at least able to do the minimum amount of work to make eating here alright. But I don't know why the sudden drastic change. Expect it to be painfully slow and expect to have to ask for things like napkins, water, more food, or a check. They are always hiring new employees and hopefully soon they will be able to train or find someone with server experience. But enjoy the food. It is really decent. Best pizza around!!! Now that they have moved up the street to their new location we frequent them much more often. They have a bar and two dining rooms along with the outdoor deck, with views of the Susquehanna River, where they sometimes have live music. The food is homemade and out of this world!!! Homemade pastas, bread and pizza dough (which is baked in a brick oven and to die for!!). Try out their homemade canoli...it's addictive!! I been going here for several years now and the pizza is the best within many miles. Very authentic and you can get just about any topping you can think of, especially fresh chopped garlic if you ask for it, not the jar stuff. Everything else we've ever ordered has been great. The owners are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The wait staff changes quite a bit and sometimes things get mixed up or forgotten but they are quick to make corrections and always pleasant. It's a nice place to bring the family and also has outdoor seating in the back. Great prices, plenty of food for the money and a comfortable casual atmosphere. Not like the overpriced, snobby place next door. I highly recommend them and there is plenty of parking for their restaurant out back. read more

The interior is half British pub and half strip mall pizzeria. Have not had anything else but will have to try something other than pizza. When visiting Havre de Grace we were looking for a place (via Yelp) that had great reviews. Sadly, most places only had one or two reviews, and/or the reviews were bad. So when we found D'Lorenzo's it was a bonus that it was pizza. Here is my only drawback, you have to pay $6 to get over the bridge to get there! But onto the food and drinks. They are a pepsi place so I stuck with Lemonade. My husband had two Yuenglings. We started with onion rings as an appetizer. The beer batter was fabulous and the rings came out quickly. Next up was our pizza. We got a large pizza with pepperoni and green peppers on the whole thing, mushrooms and black olives on half. The pizza was fabulous! The crust was a nice middle ground between crispy and chewy. The sauce was great too - a little sweet, peppery. My husband commented on how you could tell it was real tomatoes because there was some tomato skin. He also loved his mushrooms on the pizza. We decided to box half the pizza and try the "cinnamon balls" - so glad we did! Little fried dough balls with powdered sugar on top. Then on the side was a container of cannoli filling with mini chocolate chips. The basket of cinnamon balls was very large and we left feelings super stuffed. Other notes: there is lots of parking in the back. We didn't realize that when we got to town, so we parked on a side street, but it was nice to walk around after dinner. The service was fabulous. The only true downside (since obviously they can't do anything about that crazy bridge toll) is that there was group of boys running around the outdoor seating. I don't expect church quiet when I eat, certainly not at a pizza place, but I also do not enjoy boys running up and down the stairs and yelling. Overall, if we ever find ourselves in the area, we would definitely come back! read more

My husband and I had the worst service here we've ever had before at a restaurant, which is pretty bad considering we're usually pretty easygoing and patient. The waitress took a very long time to get our drinks and take our order, and while the food was okay it was not worth the wait. (She brought out my food about 20 minutes before she did my husband's too.) It took her forever just to bring the check and she had one table next to us who was also getting frustrated. It probably wouldn't have been a bad experience if the service wasn't so bad and it wouldn't hurt if it were cleaner there too. read more
