This place gets busy and you will figure out why once you come. We did have reservations so call if possible. The menu is chock full of choices. There's a wide range of offerings so you will find plenty of options. Bread and butter starts your lovely journey into taste bud adventures. We started with their famous Vinny's crab balls which were tasty little gems. For food, we ordered the prime rib special which was absolutely massive and cooked to perfection. The chicken Chesapeake was deliciousness. Also ordered the liver and onions which was just as amazing as the previous too. If you like liver get this!!! Every dish came with two sides. Baked potatoes, sautéed zucchini and fried zucchini (get this) were ordered. Also had the cole slaw (so good) and some tasty sweet potato fries. There wasn't one thing out on our table that wasn't good. Seriously. The value you get for what you pay is astonishing. Literally. No notes. You will be shocked at the quality and quantity of what you are getting for what you are paying. They do have a tempting dessert menu/case. We couldn't fit it after these portions! Came here on a random Thursday night as it is one of my wife's favorite places and it's almost her birthday. We didn't plan it this way, but we all wound up ordering blackened fresh rockfish. They got sweet potato fries and I got mash potatoes and corn. I like to mix them together still like I'm 6 years old. To me, it didn't seem hugely busy, and the staff was pleasant enough. But for some reason the food service took forever. Maybe they can only cook one piece of fish for blackening at a time. I dunno. The food easily took 45 minutes to arrive. Why did it take me so long to finally have a meal here? I've been camping at Elk Neck State Park for years, and during a weekend camping, we always make sure to at least eat one or two meals locally in and around town. This time we stopped here for an early dinner before checking in to camp and boy, was I happy we did that. The service was super friendly and helpful - they have plenty of staff who are always seating you, filling drinks and refills, grabbing orders. I loved that they plopped down a basket of just warmed baguette style bread - I loved it and would have eaten a whole loaf on my own. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms - yummy and generously sized. My main was the lasagna - just the right sized serving portion, not too salty, just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We loved eating here so much that we came back for breakfast after we checked out of the camp a few days later! read more

Just love our meals and the service provided here. Staff was just so friendly and they had plenty of people checking in during the meal. The price is amazing. I wasn't feeling really hungry my $5 quarter pound burger with $2 fries was perfect. The stuffed mushrooms was delicious and filling so use up the warm, crusty bread to sop up the buttery sauce. On a recent ride along I-95 between Washington, DC and New Jersey, my roadtrip companion and I pulled off for fuel at the Flying J truck stop at Exit 100 and decided to find something for lunch. Driving a mile or two past the big box stores and franchise restaurants along Maryland Route 272, we found ourselves in the not-so-bustling downtown area of North East, Maryland. The menu offers something for everyone with a range of breakfast options, including a variety of benedicts, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, plain / blueberry / chocolate chip pancakes, waffles, and french toast, and a wide variety of lunch and dinner options including salads, sandwiches, and entrees. Local seafood is well represented across the menu -- the Crabulous omelette filled with crab, Old Bay seasoning, and cheddar cheese; the Crab Cake sandwich, served broiled or fried; or the Steak & Cake, a New York strip steak and a homemade crab cake. Prices are very reasonable for both the quality and portion sizes and range from $5 for a simple plate with two eggs with toast to $36 for the Surf & Turf with a New York strip steak and a lobster tail. Both my dining companion and I opted for the broiled Crab Cake sandwich ($13), served with a side of potato chips and both tartar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce. Win. done without the marketing machine and budget of some of the other spots in town. Yes, the whole thing seems a candidate for a reality-show remodel-makeover, but I think it would somehow lose its charm and history. PONDERING When I think back to the "local" spots of my hometown, before the age of real haute cuisine whet our appetites and became mainstream, and screaming reality chefs redefined our expectations, it was places like Pier1 that we went to on Friday and Saturday nights with our families and friends. I had wanted to go to Pier 1 for quite a while, and I finally got the chance last week on the way home from a matinee performance at The Opera House in Havre de Grace. My two friends and I greatly enjoyed our late lunch at Pier 1. Two of us had the flavorful and delicious Crab Bisque; one had the chock-full-of-turkey-and veggies Turkey Noodle Soup. My two friends had perfectly done BLTs (one with avocado added). I had a grilled cheese sandwich that was to die...perfectly grilled on not-too-thin slices of whole wheat bread with perfectly gooey cheese, tomatoes, and a LOT of avocado slices. The wines are generic house wines, but the Pinot Grigio one friend chose, and the nice Merlot I had were perfect with our lunch.. Our waitresses could not have been nicer, happier, or more responsive to our additions and subtractions to our choices. The atmosphere is that of a welcoming diner with some nice artwork (a mural and a stained glass window were particularly noteworthy) -- casual, to be sure; but there is nothing casual about how well you are treated, how good the food is, or how reasonable the prices are: those things are ALL top-notch! read more

They had outdoor seating along side the restaurant. The place was clean and staff bussing tables pretty quickly as I waited for my order. This was a friendly family restaurant. Next up, I had the broiled seafood platter. This was also ok and nothing to write home about. For the price the shrimp and scallops were pretty pathetic. My girlfriend ordered the rockfish. This was also bland. Thr portions were not big. Don't think you will have anything to bring home. If it wasn't for thr doughy appetizer it would not have been enough to fill me up. We ordered the double crab cakes with potato salad and sautéed zucchini to share (we just had appetizers elsewhere), and it was just the right amount of food (we don't like massive portions). When the waitress asked if we wanted our crab cakes broiled or fried, we weren't sure as we'd never had a crab cake broiled, but she let us order one of each to sample and compare (both were tasty). We seemed to have two waitresses and were confused whom to ask what. One took our drink order and when I asked what teas they had, she didn't know, just said they had a variety. I didn't want to order unless I knew they had something I liked, so I asked if I can see the options. She eventually brought me the cup that holds the various options. Maybe if it's too much to memorize, offer to bring me the cup with the teabags in it to look through instead of assuming I'll order anyways just knowing that they had "a variety." Next, another girl came to take our order and after I'd looked through the tea and found one I liked, I also ordered a tea from her. The original girl came back to ask if I wanted tea, and I said I'd already ordered. A little disorganized. The girl who took our drinks brought us plates "for the bread," she said. "Oh, great, we're starting with bread," we thought, and eagerly awaited a basket of freshly baked rolls. 30 minutes later, no bread, so I said, "Maybe we'll get it with our meal?" Soon after, waitress #2 came by and saw our empty bread plates and said, "Huh, you should've gotten bread by now. Maybe you'll get it with your food, although that is something you'd usually want before your meal. Hmm," and walked off. We thought maybe she'd check on when/whether we're getting bread, but nope, no bread. Ever. She eventually brought us our meal, didn't note on the still missing bread. I mean, sure, not a big deal, bread wasn't a necessity, especially when it's complimentary, but if you tell us twice that bread is coming and then never bring it, it's just a little weird. Also weird that you'd notice we still didn't get it a half hour later and not do anything about it. Anyway, we enjoyed our crab cakes. I thought maybe the cocktail sauce and tartar should come in little ramekins instead of plastic because it look nicer and wastes less plastic. Both were good, and I was glad both were brought out without us asking. The zucchini and potato salad were yummy. No one checked on how our meal was, and I'd been wanting a refill of hot water for my now bitter tea. Eventually, when we'd been sitting with empty plates before us for a while, waitress #2 asked if we were done, and I managed to get a hot water refill (good idea using the little metal creamer containers for the hot water so I can pour it in myself). Paying at the table when you head out was a little awkward, as the walk there past the waitress station caused two chatting waitresses to bump into me (they were facing the cash register and quickly turned to leave just as I had to pass behind them) and no one attended to us at the main counter where we waited to pay for a while. About 4 groups of 2-3 were waiting to be sat by the main counter too, so it was a packed crowd of people. I began to feel claustrophobic and left my card with my boyfriend and waited outside. So, overall, the food was decent. The prices were fine. Awkward layout (maybe place the waitress station in a corner somewhere, not right between the two rooms and in the middle of the main walkway) and customer service needs a little work. Main entrance gets too crowded (need a waiting area). Lacking in ambience, really casual, lots of families and noise. Could use a little more of a personal touch when it comes to decor/table setting. But again, no complaints when it comes to the quality and taste of the food we ordered. read more

So our Monthly Dinner Group chose this Restaurant. 10 attended this month, were it's not the most Modern of Establishments, it has plenty of Seating and can handle A number of Gatherings. It does have a full Bar, and an it seems that the majority of items are Fresh and Made to Order, Salads were Fresh and crispy and the Homemade Bread was to DieFor. The Chicken and Veal dishes were nicely prepared, not over sauced, Pasta was Not over done, the Crab Chowder was lacking Crab, but A delightful spicy Soup. Crab cake was Okay, The company was excellent and a pleasant time was had by all! Our Server was Attentive and Cordial, oh the Turkey and stuffing was disappointing! Went into restaurant during the Crab Crawl 2022. The appetizer we received was crab balls. Upon my fourth one, I bit into a deep fried BANDAID. This was absolutely mortifying. I informed the wait staff, who pretty much gaslighted us several times by saying "everyone wears gloves, I don't know how this could've happened" "They all wear gloves." Obviously they are not wearing gloves... how else could this happen? Then they were going to continue to charge us $9 drinks... until we questioned it. Very unimpressed. Home fries looked good but were completely flavorless. I had to douse them in ketchup to eat them. The bacon and the pancakes were very good. The restaurant inside looks like the owners and employees just stopped caring. The bathroom was gross and the place desperately needed a good cleaning and a little spruce up. On the plus side, they do have outside seating which was nice, and it looks like you are allowed to bring your dog into the outside seating area. There are very few options for breakfast in the area. Yummy home cooked food after days of moving and traveling. We were just passing through and stopped for dinner and opted for a restaurant. Our calamari appetizer was yummy but kind of small. The kids meals are all $4 which is nice when you are feeding three of them. I got a hamburger steak wth grilled onions and mashed potatoes. Not something I'd normally get but I was pleased with my meal. The restaurant is clean. The decor isn't bad.
