My waitress was very kind and helpful. I asked which was better, the meat lasagna or the spaghetti Bolognese. She said definitely the Bolognese! It was so cold that the boats in the marina were frozen solid in the water. Upon opening the door here, we walked into a packed restaurant that was warm and cozy. We started with mussels that were superb and called out for a second order of bread. They had a deep flavor from their rich sauce. We opted for two of the seasonal specials - braciole and a salmon imperial. Both were massive and easily two meals (and priced accordingly). The braciole were served with gnocchi which were puffy and light and not a leaden carb bomb. The layer of beef nicely surrounded a dense center that hid the occasional pignoli. The salmon imperial was a puffy concoction and presented a salmon base and a baked foamy imperial on top of it. Both were very flavorful. The service was perfect and advice on the broad menu was spot on. A real find and worth returning to just to taste more of the menu. read more

Our server Paul kept calling us "kids" with a distasteful tone. Never got a single refill on our small water cups. Never had anyone swing by to ask how our food was. Had to listen to some woman screaming at the kitchen staff our entire meal. The same woman who took my friends card off the table without asking (before we even got the check !!!) and charged both our meals on it. Before we ordered we made it extremely clear that we would be paying separately, I was going to pay with cash because of the 4% charge they add to credit and debit cards. Paul didn't apologize or even care that our bill wasn't split as requested. I'm getting married this fall and was considering booking here for my rehearsal dinner, but now I'll never be returning! read more

Got a piece of lasagna and a pizza for pickup after hearing great things and it was some of the most bland food I've ever had. The tomato sauce might as well have been ketchup as it had no sign of salt, garlic, herbs or anything you would expect from a red sauce. When we come here it is always for lunch or carry out. The pizza and stromboli's are always good. We really enjoy the sauce that comes with the stromboli. Servers have always been pleasant and helpful. The ambiance is a bit dated but oh well who cares. Great location in beautiful downtown Havre de Grace and right next to the brewery. read more

Italian restaurant with side street parking located in Havre De Grace. It's in a spot where you could park a block away and explore the shops around you on the way to the restaurant. I've never had to wait to be seated. I've come with large groups and just myself and one other person. There's a big room in the back for larger parties. Service is fast, efficient. Food is tasty but can be on the more expensive side. I've never had take out but I believe that is also an option. read more

Owners were not very accommodating to outsiders. We drove over an hour to try their Sicilian pizza, however, they would not cook a Sicilian size pie on the weekend. They should advertise that on their menu so folks know. So my husband ordered their regular New York style pizza, which was good. I ordered their braciole special which had a lot of fatty meat inside. Definitely not worth $36. Our waitress was very nice though. I didn't finish my iced tea and they do not have to go cups. The best gluten free Italian food! I'm sure their regular menu is great, but since my husband has celiac disease we have to work hard to find "safe" restaurants. You walk in and the smell transforms you. The waitress was friendly and brought the gluten free menu to us when we asked. They have the best chicken croquets and pizza, nice atmosphere. The wait staff and cooks are very pleasant, you are greeted soon as you walk in. This is a family run business the owners visit all tables too make sure you are pleased with food and service. Wow, how is this place still in business?!? We should have left when we saw the sign on the door about unattended kids or the sign at the table that said they had a 4% charge to use credit cards or even when the waitress told us the didn't make the deep dish pizza on the weekend because it took to long. Heard La Cusina was serving up some good pizza, so I decided to check it out! Ordered a large plain pie and a small grilled chicken salad to go. Unfortunately, I received a chicken Caesar salad, which not only wasn't what I ordered, but cost more! The chicken was really good and the serving was plentiful, but it wasn't what I wanted or ordered! As for the cheese pie, it was pretty flavorless when eaten hot out of the box. Later that evening, when having some leftover slices, the pizza was far different than earlier, and actually quite tasty and enjoyable! Can't figure that one out, but I'm glad I was able to enjoy 1/2 the pizza! When in the area, I'll check La Cusina out again! read more

If I could leave 0 stars. I would. RUDE staff and owner is god awful. I had the worst dining experience I think I have ever had in any establishment in my life. Firstly, I want to say the food wasn't the sole issue of this although it is way overpriced for the quality. I ordered the spaghetti. Hard dish to mess up right? I don't normally return dishes unless it's really that unpalatable. I wish I'd taken a photo honestly. the sauce was so watery, and soupy. It was bland. It tasted like V8 poured over noodles. I tasted it, and let everyone at my party of 4 try a bite as well to gather their opinions as well because it was just that bad. they agreed with me. So respectfully, and SHYLY I apologized to the waitress and asked if I could possibly send it back because I didn't like it. she didn't have an issue with this and removed my dish from the table. Moments later the owner, an older woman with black hair approaches the table and asked me what was wrong with the dish. Now I suffer from social anxiety so even just returning it made me very nervous but when I explained that I didn't like it, and everyone else at the table agreed it was not good, the woman proceeded to raise her voice at my friends and I and tell me that I am wrong, she has the best tomato sauce around and I am a liar and trying to cheat her for a free meal. she said if I am full I should just admit it instead of eating half the dish and returning it. Mind you only FOUR bites were taken off this massive 18.99 plate of pasta. Mine, and my friends small bites only to taste. I started to shut down because I don't handle confrontation very well and my friend stood up for me and told her that this was very rude and unprofessional of her to treat us this way and the woman insisted that I buy another entree to make up for the money of hers we wasted (which makes no sense if you think about it because now she's used two dishes worth of resources for the price of what I sent back) and refused to take no for an answer. I told her I didn't want another dish and I was helping my boyfriend finish his pasta instead (his wasn't as bad) she then LEANED over the table across my friends partner and her cleavage was directly in this poor man's face. And nearly on his plate of food trying to get in my friends face who is seated in the far end of the booth. They both get pretty loud, and the owner tells my friend to SHUT UP. At this point I'm so shocked I can't believe what is happening because I politely returned a dish. Then the owners offspring start yelling at our table from the kitchen telling us not to talk to their mother this way. When the entire time she stood there and accused me of lying, called us names, and profiled me as a broke teenager because my style resembles that of a hippie and I have a baby face. (I'm 26 with a well paying job). We told her we will pay for what we did eat and will see ourselves out. and will not be returning. We tipped our waitress who was very kind and apologized to us very well for being so patient and understanding with us and left. Like many other 1 star reviews on this restaurant, the food is mediocre for the price, the owner and most of the staff are absolutely horrendous with a very bad attitude and no respect for their customers. Especially my friends who eat there regularly and brought us (out of towners) there to enjoy a meal. this place is tragic. And I hope karma gets this woman. Disgusting behavior. They will turn a $30.00 dollar meal into $60.00 with any special requests, I asked for olive oil and garlic on my pasta, $6.00 dollar charge, sharing a plate you will be discouraged, and if they do they won't tell you the sharing fee, they are the only Italian sit down for 30 miles, so they get away with it. It came with no lobster but tiny pieces of a lobster-like thing, four shrimp & a teaspoon of COLD crab on top the price of $36. So basically $36 for four shrimp. Really disappointed.
