I recently moved to Morgantown and decided to try D.P. Dough because I was craving a yummy calzone and they seemed to carry an amazing variety. Do not be fooled by this. Their food is one step below high school cafeteria pizza, or what I imagine prison food to taste like. A generic pizza mix from a box, with that bizarre powdered cheese has better flavor than our order did. I am not exaggerating here people. I ordered their cheese calzone. It was mostly filled with a half translucent mozzarella "cheese" and what I believe was meant to be ricotta, however, there was so little of it and it had so little flavor, I can not be sure. I had the marinara dipping sauce with it which had a sour bite and bitterness to it- I could not tell if this horrible flavor was due to poor seasoning or if it had gone bad a few days ago. The dough was flavorless. It was like eating fluffy cardboard if cardboard had less flavor. Imagine what the color white tastes like and you'll have a general idea. My friend ordered the Strike Zone and, while he managed to eat all of it, he was disappointed with it. The eggplant was dry and had no flavor. The cheese was cheap and the dough is beyond bland. His sauce was also bitter, or off, just not good. But, wait, that's not all! My friend and I decided to split an order of french fries. If you take anything else from this review, it is to not order their fries. If you went to the grocery store and purchased the cheapest crinkle cut fries and then half baked them, you would still have a better french fry than D.P. Dough. Our order came to just over 20 bucks and was a complete disappointment. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but there was nothing good that I can take from my order at D.P. Dough. Cheap ingredients, sour sauce and bland flavors but pretty fast delivery. Order at your own risk, or be intoxicated enough that you can't tell the difference. read more

The variety of calzones here is pretty wild. I had a Time Zone which consisted of peppers, mushrooms, onions, mozzarella, and ricotta. The marinara sauce complimented the calzone really well and all of that managed to stay off my suit. I like how these folks have targeted college students, notorious for munchies and poor tipping. read more

Sometimes you get toppings in your stuff that you might not have ordered or wanted (maybe because they're always super busy on Friday and Saturday nights and it gets a little chaotic in the kitchen). Delicious food but horrible rude customer service. They've never had a problem delivering to me (at least 8 times in the past three months) until I have no working car for a night and I don't have the option of going to pick it up. Suddenly, I'm outside their delivery range and their response was essentially "eff off." They told me I was lying about having them deliver here before and that the only thing they'd do is meet me at a halfway point (after I mentioned not having a car for the night!) and not even at the edge of their range (which he even said I was right at the edge of their new range). Love D.P. Dough, but they can't ever seem to follow directions on their online orders. I consistently have issues when I order online. I even called tonight and told them I'm willing to pay cash for extra marinara, but there was no option for me to add extra to my order. I also asked for them to call me instead of ringing the doorbell so my boyfriend wouldn't wake up. The guys said, "oh sure. No problem" and then I hear the doorbell ring, and obviously my boyfriend woke up and was like wtf. And then when I asked about the marinara, the delivery guy said they should be in there. They weren't. I find it incredibly annoying that they have a special requests section when ordering online if they're just going to ignore it each time. read more

OK, I'm one of the few not writing as a late-night, post-binge-drinking diner. The calzones are actually pretty decent, though greasy - always freshly made, nice and hot with a bit of singe on the crust. DP Dough offers good calzones at reasonable prices. I'm not sure I agree with the reviewers who say this is great drunk food, since I've always found the service to be a bit slow, and I've never met a patient drunk. However, it's slow because they're made to order, and it's worth it for the gooey cheese calzone. read more

Ordered D.P. Dough tonight after I got off work! Ordered the Buffer zone and the Chicken Parm Zone along with some garlic breadsticks.....I've had D.P. dough before and it's never been this bad of a experience. Sauce was bitter and bland, I ordered extra garlic sauce and never received it, the calzones in general lacked flavor just in general, and the garlic breadsticks had a salty flavor that was very overwhelming. I usually always enjoy D.P. dough however I was extremely disappointed tonight. I only gave two stars because the delivery driver was professional however he missed my driveway entirely and asked for him to call when he was on the way and he never did read more

Oh, D.P. Dough ... . It's not really much of sit-down restaurant - so much as a place to wander in and have some good eats whilst you sober up a bit. Other folks've captured the gist: cheap, plentiful, abundant variety, and uniformly pretty tasty. However, other details are relevant. Among them: -The long-suffering employees - they are _amazingly_ patient, given some of the nonsense that occurs, late at night. Several even have fun, snarky senses of humor, if you're paying attention. (Tip these folks. There's no way they get paid enough to do what they do.) -The people-watching can be utterly exquisite - also, late late at night. Sit in the little areas near the front, sort of in the windows, sit back, and watch the fun, both inside and out. -The calzones' names may have very little to do with their contents - e.g., the Low Cal-Zone - which has broccoli, garlic, and plenty o' cheddar and mozzarella. -Oh _yeah_... one more important detail: given the oft-irresponsible sorts that wander in, in the wee hours, it is standard policy (in posted signs, in very unambiguous terms) that they lock the bathroom doors at night. (I want to say, after midnight.) So pee 'fore you leave the club - they have no mercy, in this regard. You'd have to have worked in a place that has preposterous weekend hours, in a place like Mo'town, to truly understand why this is necessary. All that being said, fear not, ye who are not late-night revelers. it's really not a rambunctious place during the day. You really could wander in with the fam on an afternoon of downtown shopping - and, as a bonus, you'd even be able to use the facilities. read more

I work downtown in Motown and get lunch at DP Dough on occasion. The menu of different kinds of calzones is vast, and every one I've ever had there was bountiful and delicious. The minizone with side salad and drink lunch special is a good bargain and will fill you up. There have been plenty of different people working there over the years (college town, lots of staff turnover) and whoever is working the register is always really kind and friendly. My boyfriend and I were staying in a hotel for a few nights and were very hungry and craving pizza. A friend recommended this place to us saying it was very delicious. We ordered some calzones and cheese stix online and waited almost an hour and a half to get our food! We thanked the heavens as we heard a knock on our door-for we were VERY hungry. I have DP Dough at least 1-2 times a week. Deliveries usually take 45 minutes- 1 hour. Tonight we ordered 5 Fuze Sweet Teas, only received one. We called the restaurant and they said they'd call the driver (person on phone sounded as if they were blaming the driver for the shortage of drinks.) to have him turn around and it'd take another 45 minutes. When the driver came back he had Gold Peak Sweet Tea, at first we didn't question it. But now I'm thinking the restaurant told him to stop by the store and buy it. Now I'm so thankful for the driver going out of his way to buy and drop our drinks off. BUT, what is bothering me is the fact that the restaurant may have had the driver pay for the drinks himself. Now if this is the case, I'd hope he gets reimbursed because that's just not right. Thank you to the driver!!! I'm sure it was a hassle but please DP Dough if you guys had this particular driver pay for the drinks with his own money, reimburse his hard earned money! Please and thank you! Ordered delivery, to start the driver went to my neighbors house, let me point out that my house number is on my mailbox and in two locations on my house. Our food was Luke warm, the wings were not spicy at all even though I ordered the hot wings. My side of blue cheese that ordered for my wings was nowhere to be found.
