Tony and I went to both the Cheat Lake and Sunset Beach Marinas to check them out. We always enjoy sitting outside near the water for a meal and drinks when given the chance. We went to Lake House Restaurant at Sunset Beach Marina on Cheat Lake. It was very lovely. Very large parking lot! We were greeted and seated immediately on the deck. We opted to sit in the screened in area. Tony ordered a Bud Lite Draft and I went with Unsweetened Tea With lemon and lime. They had in the raw sweetener, which I love. Tony went for the Maryland Crabcake Sandwich with Beer Battered Fries and I had the Cod Sandwich with French Onion Soup. Everything was delicious!! We shared of course, and I'm so glad we did!! His crab Sandwich was amazing and do was my Cod!! The French Onion Soup was divine!!! Definitely going back again!

The main attraction to The Lakehouse is Cheat Lake and the fact that right there on the banks of the lake sits The Lakehouse. The waterfront view and lakeside ambiance can't be beaten. As for food, they have a good menu but to me, the taste and overall good preparation were lacking. I had their Cedar Plank Salmon which came with a brown sugar glaze. It would have been good but was way, way overdone, stiff, and dry.

Out for our anniversary didn't go as planned. I guess we should have made reservations. We arrived around 5:30 or so and it didn't look busy at all with tables inside still empty but was told they only had the heated deck open. We agreed and the hostess lead us to the outside passing empty tables on the way to an empty outdoor setting area with no lights and the heat was minimal. Halfway through our meal it was dark and could barely see our food on our plate I had to use my phone flashlight propped up on my tea so we could eat. About a minute later or so a staff member finally turned on the lights and continued to apologies for our experience. The lobster and steak was good well seasoned and done to our expectations. However our food cooled off fast and the wife had to leave her coat on through dinner from being sat outside. When we was leaving there still was empty tables so we really didn't understand why we had to sit outside and when clearly there was open tables inside. Next time after driving an hr and fifteen minutes for dinner I'll be sure to make reservations for an inside table. My recommendation is if they tell you all they have left is outside on the heated deck is to leave or wait for an empty table to become more open.

Ate dinner with group of 4. We all enjoyed our food and experience. I had the Caesar Salad and the Salmon Cakes. Food was served fast and was tasty. Forgot to take a picture of the Salmon Cakes. Service was great and our waitress kept checking on us. Definitely will go back again.

Cloudy day, but still nice to be by the water.

Location, location, location - the draw of the Lakehouse is, well - the lake. That said, the food and service are good. Within our group, we had the oysters, Italian hoagie, steak dinner and grilled tuna, plus la piece de resistance - butternut squash soup. The portions were generous - especially of the tuna. If this review were based on just the soup, it would easily be a five-star review. I like that they offered several options for a vegetable - vegetables don't generally get enough respect. We had good service, provided by a chatty server. Would definitely return.

Large group handled well at first. Well staffed with young high school kids, that would account for quick service for normal sized groups. White pizza was on the sweet side. Other dishes looked good. Steak hoagie got good reviews. Lastly, One on the wait staff did become rude with a dining party member and flipped him off as he left. The last tray of food was dropped by waitstaff setting us back another 25 minutes. The longer we stayed the worse it got. 20 people 2 hours + from 2:27pm - 4:45pm.

Fun place with great views of the lake. I try to eat very healthy and I found items on the menu so I was really happy.

Great view & service was good on a football weekend. But food is fair at best. Sitting on the deck is wonderful

Always a good meal in a great location. Sit by the water and watch sun set while having a drink, what could be better?

Had a reservation to sit at the bar and placed an appetizer order of the large meatball and Caesar salad. Meatball was good but the cheese filling promised was lackluster, and the temp of the meatball wasn't very warm. The Caesar salad was good. We also had table bread which came out hot and had a variety of butter, oil, and olive jam. I ordered the pasta alla vodka. It took 37 minutes to come out AFTER the appetizers were cleared. I can honestly say I have no idea why it took that long for two people's orders. It got to the point where I considered telling the bartender to cancel the order bc they obv hadn't even started our meals. Food when it came out finally was good - but the vodka sauce really wasn't. More like a creamy sauce that was very thin. Reminded me of cream of crab soup without the crab or old bay seasoning. Restaurant was nice, somewhat loud at times but being in the bar area we had a wall blocking out the sound. Overall it was good. Probably more of a 3-star experience but.

Here you can observe some of the local elites, tossing their blonde fake tresses and drinking expensive champagne while making sure everyone sees their brand spanking new Louis Vuittons and huge bosoms, and then there is the much more subtle and respectable old money clientele with their exquisite tailoring, indulging in one of the lovely Cabernets served here. And the Cabernet is lovely. The escargot is glorious, it is served with a little toasty roll that you use to dip up that glorious garlic sauce in the serving dish. I had the dover sole, which was straight in from, you guessed it, Dover! ;' ) I had it with fresh broccolini and parmesan risotto. G had sea bass with lobster risotto. Both dishes were cooked beautifully, the fish is flaky and light and the risotto were perfect. Our server Cody, who is absolutely wonderful by the way, tried to tempt us with desserts (one of which was a caramel hot lava cake!) but we were so full from dinner that we had to decline. Next time perhaps. And there will be a next time. PS: this is not the sort of place where you're going to whip out your phone and start photographing everything. Hence the lack of photos.

She was so friendly and very attentive. The ambiance is also very nice! For drinks, I had the Espresso Martini and the Chocolate Old Fashioned. These were both delicious! The breadsticks were also very buttery and tasty. For an appetizer, we had the Bruschetta. It is a different take than normal bruschetta and I am not the biggest fan of it. The one complaint about the bruschetta is that it was extremely salty. This made it less enjoyable. For an entree, I had the Crispy Chicken Rigatoni. This was yummy, but I feel as though the vodka sauce was missing something. The Lobster Ravioli was also delicious and did not miss!

We got the salmon salad, chicken parm, and stuffed peppers. The latter was the only decent thing. The salmon on the salad was dry and burned to a crisp. Had to send it back. The chicken parm was slopped sideways onto my plate with the pasta... that was still dripping/pooling with water. The cheese was definitely not what I expected. It looked and tasted like a single slice of Kraft provolone. The pasta came with a salad that was served on a tiny bread plate, you know, one of those that holds a little roll when used properly. All in all, terrible value. Won't be going back. The photos say it all.
