We can't say enough good things about this place. We had planned lunch elsewhere, but when we found a parking spot it was right in front of D'road, so we decided to give it a try. It is unlike most dining experiences. When you walk in, you choose your seats and then go get your drinks. Coffee, water, unsweet tea, or sweet tea. Lemon is already added, be prepared! I wasn't expecting it, but it wasn't too much so still good. Then you go up to the counter. Ms.Jeanette will walk you through all of the options. Everything is amazingly well prepared and delicious. Different options on different days, so you never know what you are going to get, but all of it will be delicious! You will wish Me. Jeanette was your Venezuelan grandmother! You feel like family. It's very relaxed. It's all healthy and she has many Paleo & gluten free options also. It's extremely clean also. We had two different kinds of arepas, empanadas and cerviche. It was probably one of the best arepas I've had outside of Latin America. Came in a Wednesday morning for breakfast. I was greeted by the owner Janet who was very nice. Got some fresh coffee with a side of steam milk. Really flavorful. They give you bottled water instead of tap water which I appreciate. The restaurant feels like when you come home to eat at your mom's house. All the love and manners. I ordered the Arepa with ham, egg, and cheese. It was an excellent choice, so much flavor and very fulfilling. They give you a small sauce with it. I want to say is avocado base and it tasted amazing. I will definitely come back next time I am in town. read more

FINALLY, A DECENT MEAL! One of our biggest frustrations while visiting Montgomery has been finding flavorful well prepared food. We have been relying on Publix for sustenance but of course they don't do breakfast so we needed to find a different option. We were already downtown on a Saturday morning and looking for a breakfast restaurant. I had this restaurant bookmarked so it was an easy find. We entered and seated ourselves. We noticed that the restaurant had a very odd and retro design reminiscent of the 50's. The walls are decorated with foam and carpet. It was very casual and the tables were nicely set with charger plates and flatware. There was no menu this weekend and we had a choice of stuffed Arepas, omelets or a skillet. I chose the skillet which featured ham, fresh veggies including spinach and two eggs over medium. It was accompanied by a half piece of toast, (like I'm 3) and an Arepa. The skillet was very well seasoned and my eggs were perfectly prepared and delivered as ordered. Arepas are just weird to me, (heavy, greasy, doughy and bland) and I think that I have had my last. I would just rather have a full slice of toast and skip the Arepa all together. While my meal was nice, I was shocked by my husband's omelet. It was delivered DOA because it was flat and very brown, (what I consider burned and inedible). He decided to eat it anyway, but I think he regretted it. It was filled with ham and grilled veggies and served with very tough turkey bacon. My husband never eats less than two pieces of toast with his breakfast so that one half piece of toast was just odd. I have learned that if I am not in a French or known restaurant, I need to request to have my omelet prepared light and with no brown at all. Although I enjoyed my breakfast, I wish that more attention had been given to the care and cleanliness of the restaurant which had that unclean and broken down aesthetic. The restroom had no toilet paper so the employee simply grabbed a used roll from the men's room. The water facet was fixed to the wall but fell off when you touched it,so that it was difficult to use. (My husband said that this also happened in the men's room). The toilet is a clear see through design that reflects dirt very well. This restaurant has great potential but the owners need to give more time and attention to food preparation, as well as the the overall aesthetic and cleanliness of D'Road. This food was some of the best I've had lately. I have gluten and dairy allergies and luckily, most of the food is already gluten free! Rice, beans, meat, eggs. I just asked no cheese. So glad we stopped here for lunch on the way home to Nashville from Destin. The food had a real home cooked taste and presentation. All dishes were latino (Venezuelan) and were wonderful. A salad was brought to the table and then we could pick a main and three sides from the steamtable. Then a small chocolate dessert was brought to us at the end of our meal. OMG, I just had the best breakfast of my life here! Seriously, drop what you're doing and just go (and if you look at my other reviews, I *never* gush like this). I had the arepa, a cornmeal crust stuffed with eggs, cheese and ham, accompanied by garlic aioli. That may not sound extraordinary, but ... wow. I don't have words for how yummy it was. The coffee was both good and plentiful, and the service was friendly and attentive. If a rating above 5 stars existed on Yelp, I'd give this place 6. Very good meal overall. For lunch they serve a meat + 3 sides, salad, drink and dessert combination for $15 with two choices on the meat and about a half dozen sides. The curry chicken was very tasty. The green beans, broccoli and cauliflower were also good. My only complaint is the food was served only barely north of warm, so it went cold on the plate pretty quickly. Also, they put watermelon in the salad and lemon in the sweet tea, which is not to my liking, but that's a preference thing. Good experience. read more

Expensive!!! I went here with a huge group of military friends after the Capital 10-miler race and most of us chose the buffet (which is misleading) you are served by one of the waiters and you only get 1 trip through the bar. However, the lady who I guess manages the restaurant or owns it did bring out table a lot of extra food items (enough for everyone to try). The food is quality but it is very expensive to eat here, my bill was close to $30 just for the trip to the buffet bar and coffee. read more

My family and I came to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. He wanted to experience a new restaurant in Montgomery and according to google, this place was amazing. I love yelp bc you will always get the truth. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed that it was less than half full. We were met by the owner who put her hands up and started shaking her head no and asked if we had a reservation. Everyone in the restaurant was looking at us like we did not belong. She went on to say, no reservation, you can't not be served. I have not felt this way in Montgomery for a long time. Very disappointed but judging by the reviews, I did not miss much.
