I love my hair! You see I had a pretty bad perm around November of 09 and he was able to take my hair into low maintenance cropped edgy looking bob. He also keeps the chit chat down to a minimum. I've gotten my hair cut by Damien the last two or three times and I always leave with a happy head of hair. He does complimentary bang touch ups which I can't live without. And I must say in the past when I would get my hair cut elsewhere, I was NEVER quite happy with my bangs. But Damien is so great, I finally have bangs that look right on me! Also, he does a good job layering my hair, I can go for a pretty long time in between trims because the layers grow out nicely. D is not only an incredibly talented and professional hair stylist, but she is one of the most kind and warm hearted people you can meet. Every time I see her it a pleasure, both for my mind and my hair! I always go for brazilian blowouts--which she is in an expert in. I have very fine baby hair that frizzes easily. She tames the frizzes without harming the delicate nature of my hair. I leave with stronger locks that are shiny and polished and the treatment lasts a long time. I can update my review for the 3rd time? YAY!!! I came back on the 4th of July and I was super excited and happy that I could get my hair cut! I've been waiting to relayer my bangs for a couple months now! I got my hair colored at this new place because my mom kept telling me to give them a try. So, I did and the lady there wanted to cut my hair so I just let her. The hair cut was ok but I wasn't in love with it. =( (SORRY DAMIAN) lol! This was my first time going to Damian but not my last. Damian did a wonderful job with both my cut and coloring! I was unsure of the color I wanted but Damian was able to match me with a combination of 3 colors that I absolutely adore! He promised me that the color would really bring out the color of my skin. What can I say but I have to update my review on Damian. If there were more then 5 stars, I'd give him that plus one. He is always professional yet sensitive to my hair needs. He is a magician, hands down, always makes my hair look AMAZING and I feel just that and it really makes my day. I have had countless women ask me where I get my hair done because it really does look fabulous, the cut, the color, he truly is an artist. I am Asian but he makes my blond hair look great against my skin tone, no brassiness or extreme platinum but if I asked him to do that, he would still make platinum look fabulous. I have been going to Damian for 10+ years and I couldn't imagine having anyone else do my hair. If he is on vacation, I will wait and my hair will still look great as it grows out. I have been going to Eva for at the last 18 years. Eva does a great job with my hair. After every haircut my hair is very easy to style and lays really well. She works very well with Asian hair. lShe just loves doing hair and thinks about hair day and night and it shows in her haircuts! Love Damien - that's all I can say. Damien makes it a point to be on time and he works quickly with fantastic results. Only once did I have to call him to fix something - and he did! Damien will give you what you ask for but if you ask him for his input, he'll make suggestions. He has a great personality, fun to talk with and will adjust to what you like. She is expert at assessing her clients' needs and likes, but is also open to suggestions and wants. Her consultations are thorough and she is quick to explain techniques and tips for styling at home and general hair care. Damien made me look like a tiger. I asked for natural honey colored hair and instead he made my head streaky, have literal patches of platinum blonde, and after he washed out the dye burned my head with a mint serum. I started crying in the salon I was so upset that he made me spend over $200 on this monstrosity, and he simply said that I would grow into it. Well I didn't. When I need a professional haircut I go to D Salon and Damien for a PRO cut. Damien takes the time required to style your hair to perfection. No more, no less. Not only this, but I wear my hair relatively short, so when I go to Damien, I trust him enough to select my style. Literally, I leave it up to him to decide because I know that whatever he does will be great. He has all the skills necessary to expertly cut your hair the way you want it. I didn't spend or have a million bucks, but I felt like a million bucks after my most recent hair cut and I look forward to returning when I am in need of more grooming. I am very picky when it comes to hair stylist. I was 42 when I first met Damien ( I am 45 now), all those time I was always trying to figure out where to go every time I need a hair cut..... frustrating. It's either they can't speak English, they don't listen, they rushed up the job or just totally no talent on the art of cutting hair at all. My search was over when I met Damian. He should be working with Hollywood stars.... I always say that to him.LOL!!! Every time he cut and style my hair I was totally delighted and walked out happy, He takes his time, he is very detailed, he doesn't rush with a razor to layer your hair ( I hated it when the stylist jumped with a razor as soon as you mentioned "I want layered hair"). With Damian, he combines scissors and just the right amount of razor trim. Yesterday, I had my first Keratin treatment after 3 weeks of vacation out of the country and exposing my hair to salty water and chlorine. Now my hair is beautiful again, healthy and shiny .... just the way I like it. Thanks to Damian's talent . I followed Kayla up from her old salon in San Bruno because she's worth it. She really talks with you first, and knows what I want in terms of a cut (long layers). I recently had her color and highlight my hair as well, and while it took several tries (my hair is pretty tricky with highlights), Kayla never gave up or lost patience. This salon is great. Kayla, the new hairdresser, is awesome. I was growing out my hair but my aunt had tried to cut it to make it even which ended up terrible. Anyways, I came here to get a style. Kayla was very nice. She talked to me and asked what I liked to do. Then she asked what I wanted to do with my hair (thin). She came up with a style that was light, easy to handle, and gave me sideswept bangs. I loved it! All I can really say is "Danger Will Robinson DANGER". I used to really like this place but recently all I can say is WHY... I have been going to Damien for the past year or so and every time it gets worst and worst. He tries to book to many appointments at once and all I get is a Half ass hair cut. I asked him to clean it up and to layer my hair. But what I got was uneven sides and allot of bulk in my hair on the sides. And the worst part is that he kept on putting in more and more product trying to make it look better. All the products aren't going to fix a bad hair cut... Like I said before I am really sadden to write this review but my past experience can't be ignored or chucked up to he was having a bad day.. This is my last time I am going to him. I used to live down the street and was referred to D Salon by my roommate at the time. She said it was an affordable place with an amiable owner who knew how to take care of your head. SHE WAS RIGHT.
