I came here with a friend of mine on Juneteenth this year to celebrate the Holiday. We enjoyed these patron drinks that came in little patron bottles with grenadine and soda. Very similar taste to a shirley temple! Unfortunately, we were disappointed by staff as the bartender ended up making a remark that the Holiday was "made up" offending myself, my friend and several other African Americans who were sitting at the bar. I have always enjoyed DTour for this particular drink and their chicken sandwich, but sadly this has ruined my outlook on the business. Went to D Tour before a show at Sheas. Was able to get a reservation for four. We got two appetizers, bruschetta and asparagus fries. Both yummy! Only complaint is I wish the asparagus fries came with a bigger portion. They were SO good! I also got the tacos off the specials menu, and they did not disappoint. I was really excited to try this place out but overall, I was not very impressed. I was made aware that this place was considered "classy," but the ambience felt really casual and laid back. I came with a few girl friends for dinner one night. The menu was really limited. The waiter also told us that tacos were only served on Tuesdays which was a bummer so I settled for the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was okay. I felt that it was overly fried so I wasn't that impressed. The sandwich came with chips and they were soggy. I ordered a Cranberry 75 with my food and it was okay. I also didn't like how they made the food right behind us so we reeked of fried food when we left. read more

Went out for National Happy Hour day which was a great opportunity to try a few different drinks on the menu as well as their award winning meatballs. Everything was delicious (meatballs and fries ordered) and the cocktails had were well made. Out bartender, Brett was attentive and engaging. The atmosphere was chill and the music wasn't blasting so it was nice to have enjoyable conversations with my friends. Would return. First time trying this place, located on Chippewa downtown Buffalo. Upon walking in, the place had a good buzz (not dead but not too busy either). I ordered a drink; "Tropic like it's hot", which was a coconut drink and very good ($10). As for food, I ordered the bang bang shrimp and wings. The wings were $10/5 wings and had many flavors/heat to select from including a couple of dry rub seasoning. The bang bang shrimp was $13 and surprisingly very big. It came with 6 large colossal shrimp, breaded and fried, and a little sweet. I had 3 of the shrimp and 3 wings. I couldn't even finish my food! My friends also enjoyed their food, so overall, I can attest that we all enjoyed our food and drinks. Would I recommend going there? Yes, that's a nice place to go with your friends or take your date out for a quick drink or bite to eat. read more

Soooooo Taco Tuesday and margaritas was the theme for today's meeting. I recently joined a meet up group and this was to be my first meet up. Walking in I was impressed with the decor. Oooouuuhh it's lovely in here. Art work was scattered around the restaurant, not many pieces but enough for me to admire. I especially liked the piece by our table it was a lady who torso and head you couldn't see. Only her legs and feet, arm and hand were visible as she held her skirt out to the side. . The entire place looked like a piece of art to me. I really enjoy the decor. We sat at the bar initially. The place only had a few other patrons when we arrived about 6:00pm. The had bar only specials as well as the Tuesday specials. We ordered margaritas and beef and chicken tacos. We moved to our seats at the table near where our food was being prepared. Open kitchen concept. It's cute but it was really hot. I had on a hooded sweatshirt and a tee-shirt. I thought it was just me but the others also said it was very hot. That's the only draw back to the design of the place. The tacos were small and reminded me of small plates. One chicken and one beef served on a corn tortilla. The chicken was friid breast pieces and it was freaking delicious. It had shredded lettuce and grape/ cherry tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese and a little sauce. I'm unsure of what the sauce was. The beef was ... Ummm it was okay. It wasn't nasty it was moist. I did make some embellishment to it that made it taste so much better. The margaritas. Nooo none of us enjoyed them. We all tasted drink mix more than anything. One of the party ordered another in the hopes of a different result. The next was better than the last as liquor was actually tasted but the overall concensus was that we wouldn't order it again on a different day. I would certainly go in the there for the chicken taco. The breading was tasty and it was fried perfectly. Shout out to the chef!! I do want to go back and try out some other foods off the menu. I did have the French fries too. They were good. I love fries and try them at many different places. You wouldn't believe how many places screw up the fries. I would get the fries too again! The bartender was friendly enough I suppose. He was very straightforward and a little pushy but not mean at all. He was attentive enough to our party as he was also serving. I didn't love the name so me reading the book by its cover I almost didn't go.... then I saw all the reviews saying the food was good and that they have a Friday happy hour, so I grabbed some coworkers and we had some food and martinis. The food was delicious and well presented, the martinis were great - IF you love sweet martinis, which i don't. After one fancy one called The Tupper I went to a classic vodka martini, which was perfect. They have a nice small outdoor area that is heated when it's chilly, and inside there is a large bar and a handful of table seats. I witnessed several people inside of the restaurant/ bar with sweat pants on. I approached the entrance and was greeted by a security guard and was told that I could not enter bc I had in adidas sweat pants. He then went on to say that I appeared to be a trouble maker because of my apparel. I grew up in the south and I'm not new to being racially profiled but this was very embarrassing and demeaning. description of security guard: black heavy guy with dreadlocks. I'm black, I work for a major corporation and I've never experienced this type of treatment in my life. They weren't very busy when we went so we had time to look over the menu. We were seated by the chef and he answered all the questions we had and you could tell he took pride in his work and knew what he was serving. We started with the hummus, bison meatballs and stuffed banana peppers there was plenty to share with the table. The peppers had the right amount of heat and the bison meatballs were flavorful. They had many different martini so everyone at the table took turns ordering different ones to see what they liked best. They had salmon on special which was prepared perfectly. The d burger was a favorite of many at the table. The presentation of the food was great and it was tasty. Definitely worth the visit to try the great food, drinks and atmosphere. Friday (4/5/19) restaurant week, D-Tour is a place I wanted to try for quite sometime. The decor is beautiful and sets you into a very relaxing state. The building is long with the lovely bar area to your right and the dining tables are to the left. The bar area stretches to the kitchen area that is open to the view of the public. For appetizers we ordered the shrimp crostini. Which is shrimp on a toasted baguette with gorgonzola spread top with a dab of hot sauce. We also had a order of meatballs. Both were good and I would order them again, especially if I was having a few drinks at the bar. For dinner my wife ordered the French pork chop, top with apple chuntney and a side of sweet potato stuffing. I felt her dish was just ok, I would've liked the pork chop to be seasoned a little more, and scrap the sweet potato stuffing. I am not a fan of stove top stuffing, and I felt it was mixed into the sweet potatoes. I ordered the chicken Milanese with arugala, I must say it was good. I really enjoyed the chocolate Martini. Will I come back, yes I would. But I would come for the drinks and order the appetizers. read more

I've only been here a few times but each time has been great! Most recently I went for happy hour on my birthday and Jasmine and Brett were very attentive and helpful. We had a wonderful evening, the drinks were strong, the apps were delicious (we tried the spinach artichoke dip and meatballs, so good) and the atmosphere was perfect. Second time my hubby and I have went to this restaurant/bar. The rules are a bit different depending if you are local I suppose. We were told no sneakers or ripped jeans yet a majority of customers had on both. The food was good and the climate is pretty cool and down to earth. The martinis and drinks are bomb! Small place but very cute in the inside and I loved the music being played. Cute little spot on Chippewa. We made reservations before seeing a show at Shea's. It wasn't busy and reservations wouldn't have been needed, but ya never know with show nights. They had a cute specials menu to coincide with the play. We order the poutine, which was awesome. The fries tasted fresh cut. We also had the buffalo shrimp crostini which was out of this world. I would highly recommend this! We split the ahi tuna entree. It was a perfect rare and very good. We both had martinis, of course. I had the dirty martini with the blue cheese olives, which was ok, the cheese was a little more on the martini than I would prefer. My mom loved both of hers. I can't remember which ones she order, but she really liked both. Service was great. The server was friendly, attentive and great with suggestions. I will definitely be back. read more

Went during restaurant week. Was hit with a cooking odor upon entering. The restaurant is open concept with the kitchen adjoined. This started to make my eyes burn within 5 minutes of arriving. Apparently the hood units cannot remove the smoke efficiently. Ordered the "tenderloin tips" that weren't tips at all but slices of meat. Had I known this I'd have said I like my meat cooked medium. Both my boyfriend and I sent our dishes back to be cooked more since it wasn't even cooked to rare. I noticed another patron did the same while I was enjoying dessert. The red wine reduction on the dish was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes. I do not know what cut of meat we ate, but the fat could have been trimmed more. All in all I'd say I was impressed with the transformation of the place as a whole to a restaurant from a night club. That was a good job. If I were to return it would be in summer when the front of the restaurant's windows are open, so my eyes won't burn. read more

Totally underrated place. Food should cost twice the price. Made-from-scratch, filling portions are accompanied with a great drink selection (house Malbec was excellent for the price). If you are looking for a bison burger in the area, there none. So try bison meat balls here and be ready for a satisfying meal. Tuna tacos were excellent as well, I hear that the steak is on point also. Only draw back, the place is named as a martini bar and has the matching light decor, but it can rival all the nearby fancy dinner spots with its food options. read more

I was a little leery going into this bar as it's located on the infamous ( infamously ratchet) Chip Strip. Much to my surprise this place surpassed all expectations I had! The inside of the place had a nice setup; we went for happy hour and I would highly recommend! Happy hour in this city has almost lost its sense of the meaning happy hour, however, D-tour stands true to the excitement of what happy hour really is. They offer $5 martinis ( I would say they're worth $5 not $10) and a fun atmosphere to enjoy our numerous round of drinks. Our bartender was highly attentive, despite the bar being full. Wow, I was very surprised by this place. Definitely not your typical Chippewa bar. We came for happy hour and weren't disappointed. First off, the space is small but bright. Very clean from the bar, to dining area, and bathrooms. Simple but well decorated, nice lighting, and cool loungey feel. Second, the service was great. We sat at the bar and every bartender was personable and attentive. The drinks were awesome. Happy hour is 4-7 Monday through Friday and 6-10 Saturdays. You can't beat $5 high quality martinis. I had the Tupper and the Lafayette Ave. The Tupper was my favorite. It was smooth, strong, and a little sweet but too much so. Friends got other martini mixes and everyone enjoyed them. They especially favored the Chippewa Street and Peach Street. I ordered a burger because I was starving. I wasn't expecting much except a typical bar burger, but that was not what I got, it was one of the best burgers I've had in Buffalo. The burger, though a thinner patty, was the perfect size, juicy, and well cooked. It had bacon that was thick chunks, which I've never had on a burger, and now I can't understand why other places don't do it! The roasted onion added to its uniqueness. Me and some coworkers came here for happy hour a week or two ago. It was a great time! This place is nice; the vibes are chill and comfortable. The service was fast and friendly. The bartender even shared his lighter! The outside porch has heat lamps and is excellent for people watching. My dirty martinis were the perfect mix of strength and dirty olive. I went there for lunch today & it was great. At first we thought it was closed because there wasn't anyone inside but it wasn't. I had the Chicken Sandwich-sesame panko crusted chicken breast, lettuce mayo on brioche bun. It just came out of the oven and it was so delicious. So tender and cooked just right. It came with there own deep fried potato chips. Seriously I couldn't stop eating them. My friend had the Chef Salad-romaine lettuce, roasted turkey (2 big pieces), baby heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, egg with ranch dressing. She said she liked it a lot and let me say it was a big salad. The service was great. They have a happy hour from 4 to 7 and we can't wait to go.
