I love Chophouse! It is always a nice treat when I go. They do have specials which I like to try. My favorite thing to get here is honestly their crème brûlée. They are a little tucked away in the back due to their parking lot in the front but it's well worth it. The sides are also great and can be shared amongst a few people. Try the mac and cheese - it's the best!

We had a great experience here! First time ever and we were impressed. Started the night with the flying shrimp which was delicious and quite the display. The two sauces were a buffalo/blue cheese and a Thai chili. Both were great and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We had the NY Strip which was phenomenal and the Waygu special which was just okay. Would try something else next time. As our side we picked the lobster Mac and cheese which was really good and again beautiful display. It was plenty for us to have leftover for a few days. Our server was very kind and gave some great recommendations. It was a great time and we would love to come back and try some more!

Beautiful establishment amazing food and great service. The food was excellent, the two of us had a very pleasant evening from the bar to the servers and even the welcoming host definitely gets 5 stars from us.

Buffalo Chophouse is one of my favorite places to go for a special occasion. I always get the stuffed peppers as a starter to share across the table (they come with three large peppers). This time I ordered the 8oz filet with Maytag butter, and our table shared the mac and cheese as a side which was SUPER cheesy. Service was exceptional as always! Zaria and Thomas checked on us frequently and were super helpful and friendly. We can't wait to come back again!

Wow ! Top rated service and exceptional food ! Pricey, but take advantage of their birthday promotion. There is a reason this dining establishment has been around for so long . I am still dreaming of the bananas foster I had for dessert . Couldn't ask for a better birthday meal !

I went here for work dinner, and it blew the doors off! When you walk in, you feel like you're in a old English pub looking around at the huge expanse of Bar and all the overhead and just the beautiful wood and very proper seating. The restaurant really has a very large amount of space and could see many a party if needed. The drinks we had were exceptional, I'm looking at you, Mediterranean Mule! We had a large party and ordered several different kinds of appetizers, including oysters, and calamari. All of it was exceptional, and the display was perfect perfection. I ended up going with the 8 ounce fillet and the jumbo shrimp, with a side of peppercorn sauce. It was perfectly cooked, medium, rare, and the shrimp were outstanding! Our server was always just the right amount of there, and never not there at the same time, he was like a magician!

Recently went to dinner at Buffalo Chophouse with a friend who travels a lot who raved that the steak was easily in her top 5 favorite from all the places she has ever eaten! We ordered the candied bacon, mashed potatoes, creamed Spanish, ribeye and lamb and everything was superb. It was all cooked to perfection and flavored beautifully! On top of that, the servers were attentive and made great recommendations. The building was beautiful and it made for a very quiet, relaxing meal with a friend! It's on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality of the food you get. I will definitely be back! Buffalo Chophose is the perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or special occasion if you want a nice, relaxing dinner.

The Scarlet Vetter says.....my husband and I took a couple of friends here for dinner on a Thursday night. The Restaurant is lovely, spacious, yet also cozy and warmly lit. The bar is fabulous with ample seating. We were seated in the adjoining building space on the second floor. It was quite nice because we did not feel crowded in with other diners. We ordered drinks (lemonade and a Pinot Grigio, and a bottle of red wine--a nice, reasonably priced Pinot Noir. For appetizers, we ordered the flying shrimp, which was nicely presented, a French Onion Soup, and the Stuffed Peppers. The shrimp were super yummy, as were the peppers which we all shared. My husband said the french onion soup was delicious! Then for our entrees we ordered the Salmon and various steaks. For my steak, I ordered the Delmonico, medium rare, with shrimp and the Gorgonzola sauce. The Steak was very sizeable and perfectly cooked. Tender on the inside and a great crunchy char on the outside. The shrimp were huge and succulent, and the sauce, simply delicious. Our friend wanted to order the Gorgonzola Sauce too, but she wasn't sure she would like it so the waiter kindly brought her a sample! We ordered sides of sautéed mushrooms and broccolini for the table and we each had a baked potato. Seriously, they were the biggest baked potatoes I have ever seen. Our friend got the loaded baked potato and it could have fed the whole table! I really enjoyed my baked potato and just ordered it with butter and sour cream. Yum. I could only eat a quarter of it as it was humongous. I could also only eat about a third of my steak, so both went home with me for another meal. Everyone else raved about their steaks and the Salmon as well, and again, they each went home with another meal. For dessert, we ordered the mile high chocolate cake for two and the bananas foster. The Cake was like one quarter of a cake, enough for a table of 4, and the bananas foster was absolutely scrumptious. In all, this was a great meal......very memorable. The service was also outstanding. The damage was about $600 before tip, so about $180 each, when all was said and done wirh gratuity. I would highly recommend a meal at this restaurant, even though it was pricey!! Eating out these days is generally expensive, so it is wonderful when the experience and the food justifies the cost.

I walked back into the Chophouse like a man who had unfinished business with a steak. The flying shrimp appetizer kicked things off. They didn't actually fly, but if they had, I would've chased them with zero shame. Crispy, perfect, gone almost immediately because I have no self control when food tastes that good. Then the steak arrived. So tender I'm convinced it was raised on positive affirmations and spa days. The salmon came right after, buttery and cooked so perfectly that I briefly considered writing it a thank-you note. Everett was handling service again, and I'm now fully convinced he has superpowers. Drinks never hit the halfway point. Plates vanish at the exact moment you think "huh, I'm done with that." He's a hospitality ninja. Then the manager slid over with the greatest plot twist in dining history: "Dessert's on us." Suddenly I'm sitting there with a sundae and bananas foster like I've just won a culinary lottery. The bananas foster lit up like it was performing for an audience, and I was absolutely cheering on the inside. Let's hope this got me on the fridge again! P.S the movie is called "The revenge of La Llorona"

The food was absolutely delicious and the service is great. That mile high chocolate cake is 10/10, better than most bakeries. I had the bone in ribeye unfortunately it was a little tough wish I had gotten the Delmonico. My husband and son had the Delmonico and it was delicious and tender. All of the sides were great. Paid for truffle butter in my steak and it was no there. I thought maybe it melted before getting to me but I did not taste any. Overall though I was very satisfied. My add on lobster was the star. So juicy and delicious.

Had a really wonderful birthday dinner at Buffalo Chophouse late last year. I was able to eat to my heart's content and did! Starting with one of my all time favorite dishes, Beef Tartare, was a treat in of itself! I then enjoyed a delicious cup of French Onion Soup followed by the 32 oz. Ribeye. I enjoyed the steak but unfortunately it was not the star of the show. I wish there was a bit more marbling and that it was truly cooked to order (rare). For sides, we thoroughly enjoyed the Au Gratin potato special and the creamed corn - well worth the prices on those. Our server, Zaria W., was very attentive and accommodating and even ran over to the table when she thought my dining companion was choking, turns out he was just laughing very hard. In terms of ambiance, this is one of the nicer establishments in downtown Buffalo! Want to talk about romantic setting - we even witnessed a proposal at a nearby table which was so sweet! There is a birthday special/promo - free entre (up to $50; Show your ID with a birthday that is within 1 week before or after your the date of your dinner). Anyway, the birthday dinner was fabulous, I was on top of the moon, unfortunately it all came crashing down in the days to follow but that is no fault of the Chophouse and I will hope to return someday.

FIVE Stars! From the staff to the service to the food, it was a wonderful experience. When I called to make the reservation, the young hostess couldn't have been lovely. She accommodated me on short notice. When we got there. We were greeted by several hostesses, and helped to our table. The restaurant is accessible and has clean accessible restrooms. Our server. Ruben was professional. As was his assistant. They made suggestions and offered recommendations. The roles were fresh and melted in your mouth. The butter was straight from the farm. I had the wedge salad, and I will be remembering it for weeks to come. My steak was cooked to perfection. I particularly enjoyed how they seen it and charred and sealed it on the outside. The homemade potato chips were phenomenal. The building looks to be very old and has incredible architectural design and character. I think it's a brick building with interesting wooden beams, a beautiful staircase with red iron handrail and it reminded me of a 1920s. Speak easy. It was a beautiful setting, and a very relaxing place to enjoy a wonderful dinner with a colleague. It was not too noisy, not too quiet, not too crowded and really afforded a perfect dinner. Highly recommend. If you go to Buffalo that you try this wonderful spot. Thank you, Ruben for a memorable dinner.!!!!!!

Ask the Community - Buffalo Chophouse

Traveling to Buffalo for business. Hate sitting alone at a table but I'm always on the lookout for a good steak. Do they have bar seating?

Yes they do have a bar area..it's a very decent size one

Can I wear jeans and a nice top here? I'm pregnant and don't really have any dressy bottoms.

I think if they are a dark rinse denim, they'll be fine. Especially with a nice top! Thick tights and a tunic top/dress would be a good alternative as well!

The Margherita focaccia was by far the worst of the night, soggy and flavorless, the focaccia was nothing like a normal one. The tuna had a nice presentation though it was quite mediocre, the rice was hard in some parts and seemed quite old, the tuna itself was fine but the dish as a whole was maybe on par with sushi you'd get at a wegmans. As my entrée I got the carrot papardella, everything seemed overcooked, hardly any lobster and what little was happened to be tough and rather flavorless, of course it was the same with the shrimp and crab. The pasta was overcooked and stuck to itself and the sauce was quite sweet and far too hot, twenty minutes into the meal and it was still steaming, continuing to turn the dish into mush. The meal was for three people and came out to be $240 after tax and tip, the service was nice but considering the praise this restaurant got I'm sure it's went downhill. The highlight of the meal was the complementary bread at the start.

Had a lime though. Egg dipped Artichoke Hearts 8/10 I was surprised to see the plating structure of this. Everything was good. Vinaigrette went well with everything. less salad mix at the bottom would be nice. Twin Filet Mignon Beef Tournedos 8/10 Cooked perfect, both of them. Decent flavor too. The mushroom sauce was good. The horseradish cheese was shredded, which was very strange to have on a steak. I could have done with a creamier cheese, Gorgonzola, or just none at all. Potatoes were good, a chunky mash. Asparagus was cooked good, al dente and seasoned well. Special: 1/2 Rack Australian Lamb 9/10 Cooked perfect, probably one of the top three best in the Buffalo area. The crust was great, the sauce was really good, could taste the mint and raspberry, but it wasn't super sweet like you'd think.

Also, our server over heard us talking about my birthday and was so kind and brought me a slice ok cake with a candle, just so sweet. The food was just as good, except my steak unfortunately. We started the meal with the wagyu meatballs, crab and lobster fondue and pork belly. All three were delicious! The pork belly was my personal favorite It paired so well with the Brussels sprouts slaw and carrot ginger puree. For my meal I got the 10.0z filet with hash browns. Now, yes I am a don't like pink in my steak, so I did order medium well. Unfortunately my steak came well well well over done. One of my friends ordered a medium steak and felt it was over cooked as well. My steak was not edible at all. The hash browns, I thought we're going to be like shredded potatoes, but they were not. The were actually very large fried like loaded potatoes sticks. My problem was they tasted fried in old oil had a bad after taste. For dessert we tried the banana cream trifle, sooo good, along with a slice of molten chocolate bomb cake, YUM! The service, apps and dessert saved the meal for me . I would come back again and try.

The chopped salad (half portion) was one of my favorites in the past - supposed to have a sweet and sour dressing, but this just tasted like boring Italian dressing. However, I cannot say the same for the customer behind me, who exploded upon impact, leaving a complete bloody mess, ruining my shirt. Overall an awful first impression. And my food wasn't any better. My steak was completely raw, practically still mooing and trying to leap off of my plate; the green beans were all moist and wet and tasted like ass; and the fries were literally frozen and absolutely inedible. Not to mention I could hear the chefs arguing with each other the whole entire night, and I'm pretty sure I even heard multiple fights break out in the kitchen, with someone even leaving on a stretcher at one point in the night. Shit was crazy. Overall my experience here was, again, horrific, and I would normally give Texas Roadhouse one star. If it weren't for my server, Taylor, who was the absolute saving grace of this horrible night. She is without a doubt one of the greatest servers to ever grace the industry. She was incredibly attentive and kind and made a horrible night into an absolute dream. She even at one point in the night fought a dragon that was attacking the restaurant with her bare hands. Avoiding its fire breath all while riding her skateboard and hitting 360 kickflips and chewing bubblegum. She eventually picked up a rocket launcher, stuck it in the dragon's mouth, and said, "You're fired," before blowing it to smithereens. Everyone in the restaurant clapped, and then she immediately came back to my table and asked if there was anything I needed. Unbelievable service. She deserves to not only be the highest-paid member of the company but also to be given the reins to the company entirely. I left her a $1000 tip, which I believe should be the bare minimum from anyone who is blessed with Taylor as their server. God bless her.

**Catered Event: Board of Directors' Dinner**…read more Numerous locals recommended Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant as an excellent choice for formal occasions, and it proved to be a wonderful venue for our Board of Directors' dinner. I hosted a dinner for twenty (board members and their guests) and was especially impressed by the catering manager, who patiently guided me through the many decisions involved in planning the event and personally welcomed me on the evening of the dinner. The waitstaff were attentive and seemed to anticipate our needs, and the private dining room was both relaxing and quiet. We chose the "King's Table," which allowed all twenty guests to sit together around one large table. The room and table settings were beautiful, creating an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. The event menu allowed me to select three salads, three entrées, and two desserts for our guests. Printed menus were placed at every setting, offering a gracious welcome and making the ordering process easy and efficient. I heard from many guests that their meals were excellent. I especially enjoyed the beet salad with goat cheese and the crème brûlée cheesecake. My filet mignon, unfortunately, was tougher than I had expected. The pecan-crusted salmon looked marvelous, and I found myself wishing I had chosen it instead. The pricing was also extremely reasonable for the quality of the setting, service, and overall experience. Each dinner was $85 and included a salad, entrée, and dessert. Bacchus provided a beautiful and memorable evening for our board, and I would gladly recommend it for a private dinner or formal gathering.
