I come here very often the cashier is a young beautiful lady who's super nice! She gave me and my friends some discount cards since we come here a lot. And the cook is very professional and fast! This place needs to get a lot of love and I hope they pay their workers what they are worth and more! Food is phenomenal. It's a super cool 50s style burger bar in the heart of downtown

Came across D-Town Burger Bar and it has a vintage vibe in their interior decor. Got a jukebox playing oldies makes you feel you've traveled back in time to the good o' days. D-Town Burger Bar offers more than just burgers, breakfast items as well. I came in waiting for the cashier and I was waiting for a solid minute or two till someone showed up. She was nice and chill and the service after was quick. They take 4% merchant fee for any credit card transactions. I've ordered a Cheeseburger Combo and with cash it comes out to $13.07. Pretty affordable prices! My table was a bit dirty and I can see other tables haven't been fully wiped down. The burger was meh. It was mid to say the least. The patty wasn't juicy and it didn't have much flavor to it. The "seasoned fries" don't have the same seasoning I'm accustomed to. It kinda has a tomato seasoning to it. Overall: I would come back to try their breakfast options but the burger isn't the best. The location is relatively within reach for those who use the Metro.

I'll have to come back for the burgers but o got regular friends, garlic fries, and chili cheese fries...all of them delicious! It's in downtown so you might see some characters as well. Workers there are great and friendly. Here's to the burger joints that still serve their burgers with lettuce and tomato (and avocado add ons).

USC Parents Weekend adventure following a delayed flight while staying at the Biltmore- Lyfted here after midnight with my 19 yr old daughter based on YELP. Diner was open late, brightly lit, and serves really good burgers and fries. Counter service refilled our drinks frequently. We each had combos. We opted for the chipotle avocado burger and the pastrami burger. The pastrami burger was the star of the meal. The late night neighborhood vibe is not for the faint of heart, and I don't recommend exploring that part of DTLA at that late hour on foot.

I came here on a Saturday night at about 11:30pm. It' is located in a busy area of downtown, so parking is hard to find. The inside seating is quite spacious with booths and it was clean. The server quickly took our order and answered our questions. Our burgers were fresh and tasty and my fries were good, too?

So good! Came with friends, the female cashier was incredibly nice and welcoming, and the food was incredibly amazing!!! The retro vibe and feel was very nice and warm, however it could use some dusting. Overall, a great experience and a great diner :))!

Honestly I was hesitant we needed a spot to get some food and went in this little dinner and turned out so good and very friendly. Some people came in asking for items or Money they were very respectful. Food was good we had gotten a variety of things there and Togo and they were great! Would recommend !!

    Inside, love the aesthetic.

My coworker was craving breakfast at 2 pm and most places in DTLA stopped serving at 12pm, but just before we gave up we decided to give this place a try. The diner it self is so cute, I love the 50s style decor and cashier was very polite/friendly. I ordered the French toast special and it was delicious, I unfortunately forgot to snap a quick photo before I devoured it lol. My friend also enjoyed her food as well, we definitely will return next time we're craving a Late breakfast.

The space is absolutely filthy. There is dust for days above you. They did not bring the food to me nor did they provide drinks before the meal.

Classic diner with affordable prices. I ordered two pancakes and scrambled eggs. This retro style aesthetic mod art decor. The food is decent, typical diner that feels like food from home. The pancakes could be less fluffy for my taste. The menu is affordable and the staff are nice however you serve yourself to the booths. The syrup was too thin, I prefer a thick maple syrup. The restaurant water was fresh. Open late on weekends and restroom located in back of diner.

Delicious burger, tastes just as good as in n out. I got the 1. Burger Combo

There's no parking, they have really good breakfast and burgers. I need to get the guys name of who was cooking

My partner and I sat at the chef's counter by the chef making appetizers and that was nice and intimate. SERVICE: Super friendly service! Had many people helping us which was pretty awesome but I could tell they were a bit short handed as the head chef had to keeping yelling for hands for FOH. But that didn't bother me because we were right there watching people cook. FOOD: Cornbread 10/10 Bluefin Tuna Toast 10/10 Cheddar and Chive Potatoes 10/10 Porcini Mushrooms 10/10 Porkchop 10/10 Sparking Lemonade 8/10 Sticky date pudding 10/10 Black coffee 10/10 So so amazing!! I cannot get over how wonderful the food and atmosphere is. I am salivating now even thinking about it. While there, I was already thinking when we should come back. The pork was so tender and salted perfectly! The potatoes were so fire! The toast was excellent with the contrast of the delicious sourdough and the high quality tuna. I am just so blown away by it all. The chef too in front of us was so nice! You could tell he really loved doing what he does. Just fantastic! OVERALL: I get why the reservations are so hard to get and it was well worth it. I am definitely coming back here again and again.

Wanted to try this place because of all the good reviews. It was OK. Ate there on Saturday night…read moreafter securing a reservation. Something happened and when we arrived there was a mix up with the reservation so we ended up sitting in the bar for about 45 minutes. This place is extremely casual, think shorts, t shirts, and flip flops and you won't be out of place. Servers and bartenders all have the eagle rock/highland park grunge vibe. I went there with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. We started with the cornbread. I thought it was good (4/5) but with the amount of butter and honey anything would have been good. Wife didn't care for it, thought the buttermilk made it too sour. Just know that it's tiny. For the four of us, each had one bite. The menu for mains is pretty limited. Steak, swordfish, or porkchop. We ended up going with the steak, 2 swordfish, and then added the brown eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and then wanted to start off with the pork chile (which is really chile verde). The chile verde was the star of the night. If I ever went back, this is what I would order. Maybe it's because all the chef's are hispanic, but it was really good. They serve it with homemade tortillas and it was excellent. The steak is a large 2 pound bone in rib eye. I ordered it medium rare. It was more on the rare side, which i don't have a problem with, but the steak was a little tough. Not super tough but for $150 I definitely expected a little more "melt in your mouth" rather that fighting some pieces. Bone marrow was a nice touch. probably a 3/5. The fish was well cooked, not dry but the flavor was not amazing either. Hard to explain but the sauce was a little too sour. I like lemon on my fish but the sour almost made me think the fish was past it's prime. It wasn't, but the sauce didn't really highlight the fish. I shouldn't have ordered two and would skip this one next time. My least favorite and a 2/5 The sides were good. Mashed potatoes with garlic and butter, nothing special but good. Brown eyed peas were really just white beans. They were good, but not steal the show good. About a 3/5 For dessert we split the chocolate cake which was more like a muffin with a hazelnut whipped cream. Don't think of chocolate cake, think of it rather as a small piece of chocolate flavored loaf with no frosting or chocolate pieces. I liked it because I like things that are not very sweet but I was the only one that cared for it. Overall portions are fairly small. Between me, my wife, and two teenagers we ate everything. Total bill with tip was about $510. Pretty crazy when you think about it. Would I go back? Probably not but the ambiance was nice with the grill and real candles.

Update lol I did not mix it until halfway through, I added a brown sugar cube and noticed there was still cocoa on the bottom and I got a lot more of the espresso taste, made it honestly much better the espresso was still incredibly smooth and the cocoa was a compliment rather than the main taste still. I tried a clump of the cocoa powder and I think it's because it's not bitter at all, and mild sweetness- very good. The Americano was great, normally it tastes like just coffee and water but this was also blended and smooth For the drinks, the Night Rosée (non alcoholic) was great, it has ume, grapefruit, white tea, and soda. I thought the ice cubes looked great but my mom was not a fan of how little drink there actually was, especially since it was non alcoholic. I think that the blend of ingredients was very thoughtful, the grapefruit shows up but not overpowering, and has a sweetness that makes the drink overall satisfying. The service and ambiance are what MUST be talked about. You come in to a garden wall, mirror prism wall, a beautiful wood themed bar, a room with thoughtfully picked pieces, and a seating area outside that has a view of rodeo drive as well as another seating area that has wine glasses, cups, and everything laid out already ready for those who are getting something more than a drink. There is always calm music playing, and everything just looks cohesive together. In terms of the service, everyone is wearing a white collared shirt with navy crewneck/blazer, and it is clear they are all trained, when we first sat down it comes to the little things, we got served 3 different colored glasses which I loved, they were all themed like the green looked like leaves, the blue looked line lines like water, the orange looked like gems. But the glasses are placed and the water is poured the same way, same side and they move for every single person, rather than just getting all the glasses together. They move slowly with intention, same exact thing with the menus, opened for us

Winner Winner Chicken errr... Lunch…read more So we are always skeptical if there is way too much hype surrounding a eatery. However in the case of Howlin Ray's the hype is justified. The staff were super friendly and on point The Food: (A word on heat. They have 6 levels from Country with none to Howlin. We can take a decent amount of heat. I went medium and my son went hot. The medium was just the right balance with a nice burn especially on the back end. The next level, hot, was also really good and hit close to our limit) The Sando: a nice sized chicken breast perfectly fried. The chicken was moist but well cooked and the batter was seasoned perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch to things, the comeback sauce added richness and the pickles added a brinney crunch to offset the goodness. The bun put up a valiant effort but about of the way through it gave up and the Sando became a fork affair. The Slaw: It was just okay, on the sando it was perfect, on its own, just okay The Macaroni Salad: Glorious, simply glorious. Whatever spicing they were using with the fries seemed evident here giving it a reddish hue. The the bits of dill, onions, and pickles helped balance the whole thing perfectly. This would be right at home on a North Shore plate lunch. Shake Fries: Perfectly fired crinkle fries shaken in that spicing they use. Dipped in the comeback sauce or on their own they were awesome. Banana Pudding: OMG so good. With the traditional vanilla wafer on top. Rich and luscious it was a perfect end to the meal. The only downside? This location is small and if you want to eat there there are only a few tables. Parking also sucked. Those thinks aside excellent place
