During a recent visit, my family and I ordered grilled chicken burgers with fries, lentil soup, and Greek salads. Each food item was cooked well, although the grilled chicken in our salads could have been hotter, as it was cooler than in previous visits. I also had no idea that seasoning salt was automatically added to all orders of fries, as I would have requested no seasoning, which I don't like on my fries. Was told there would be an upcharge to get onions put on the side. Then told that onions never came on the sandwich and it has always been an upcharge. That's wild as I've been going here 40 years and they definitely did previously and I was never charged for asking it to be put on the side. Onion rings come in a large to go container designed for a meal. There are a lot of them. Battered and cooked crispy. The drive thru was packed and cars were down the street, so I went in. We went to Gus's Drive In for a team lunch while in the area. We got a variety of foods and Gus' has a large menu so everyone was satisfied. The service was good and the employees seemed nice. They did forget the sauces for one persons burrito and he was not happy about that. Personally I had the patty melt which would benefit from a different kind of bread because it seemed very dry. Not sure about this place yet. Food was not bad. The tuna melt was good but the Greek salad was definitely not. I think it's because the dressing they provided did not match. The mushroom Swiss burger was good. They have indoor & outdoor eat-in space as well as drive-thru which gets extremely busy during lunch. I have loved everything I had at Gus's except for today. The club sandwich had melted cheese on it and it was so overpowering that that's all you could taste. You are not going to believe this place unless you've been here. It exactly what it says on the sign. Fresh, Healthy, Delicious Drive thru. They also have a surprisingly pleasant patio despite traffic and they have some indoor seating, though it's got a lot of hard surfaces so not as fun for sensitive ears. Fresh squeezed orange juice at a drive thru? A true Greek salad with pits in the kalamata olives just like god made them? They even prepared a low sodium version of their patty melt with Swiss for my wife's low sodium diet. First timers. The restaurant is easy to miss if you're not looking for the sign, so pay attention! Inside was clean and lots of seating despite the size of the dining room. Easy walk up or driver thru ordering, no frills very straight forward. Staff was friendly! The customer before us was offered a punch card but we weren't. I ended up asking for one, but make sure they give you the correct amount of stamps! We bought two meals and spent $35 but only got one stamp. It's one stamp per meal according to the card so double check. The food was solid. The portions far exceed the price compared to other LA food spots! BBQ bacon burger was loaded with all the fix ins. Bacon was CRISPY which I love for a burger. Pastrami was decent, and that's coming from someone who doesn't care for pastrami. We'll be back for sure! read more

So I decided to head over to Gus's for lunch today I finally found the veggie burger they honestly taste amazing it was sooo yummy! I decided to get no fries & no thousand island dressing or cheese. I'm not a vegan or anything so I am not sure what's all inside of the veggie patty but the patty is a light crisp patty with on a wheat bun full of veggies it honestly tasted amazing & it was less than 10$ It taste better than a couple of veggie. Burgers I tried at like some really nice places. They also have other items that I've tried before. This place is always clean and very fast on the service. Also the fries are always fresh & for some reason I still love the fact they do add season salt to the fries so if you don't want season salt make sure you let them know because they do add a generous amount.... The area is a bit sketchy but what place isn't in Los Angeles with great food! The people who work in the area & business people are outside eating all the time.
