We had walked past it a few times in the past and had been wanting to try it out. The restaurant is small and non-assuming, but don't let that fool you. We opted for lunch with a couple friends and were not disappointed. Our server Mack greeted us as we arrived and quickly got us seated with menus and waters. I had heard that the Kao Soi was supposed to be really good, so I opted for that. My wife had her usual Pad Thai with chicken, our friends had Pad Krapow with pork and chicken Basil Fried Rice. Living in Thailand for 6 years as a kid, I pretty much know good Thai food, and I can tell you that all 4 dishes hit the mark. I tried tastes from all 4 dishes. The Pad Thai was served with crushed peanuts and a big slice of lime and was very flavorful, had the right amount of sauce, but probably could have used just a tad less sugar and a few more pieces of meat. The Basil Fried Rice was delicious. It had that "wok-fired" street food taste and was served with some sliced cucumber and a slice of lime. The only thing I would change is to leave the broccoli out. You don't typically see that in Thailand. The Pad Krapow had a spot-on taste associated with good Pad Krapow and did not disappoint. The only suggestion is to be sure and order it with a fried egg to make it more authentic. Last but certainly not least was my Kao Soi. Only recently becoming more popular here in the US, it is an egg noodle curry soup dish that originates from northern Thailand. I have had Kao Soi in restaurants in Chiang Mai, and I can tell you that JaiWai hit every mark with this one! Most impressive was the plate of condiments. It included a lime wedge for a little acidity to help brighten the flavor of the broth, chopped shallots for some freshness, and pickled mustard greens that really make a difference! They are tart and crunchy and help counter the richness of the broth, a component that's very important in Thai cuisine. And lastly, fried chili flakes. This is optional for those who want to add some heat to their bowl, but for me it is mandatory. I like my Thai food hot and spicy. The only suggestion I have for the Kao Soi is maybe top it with slightly less fried noodles. They were welcome, but just a tad difficult to mix them into the soup because of the amount. Mack did an amazing job serving us. He was very friendly and took the time to confirm our orders. So I highly recommend JaiWai and we will be making it our go to Thai place in Georgetown. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! Ambiance - 9/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Overall - 10/10

We had the yellow curry with tofu, pad Thai with tofu, and the papaya salad -- all were delicious. One thing worth mentioning: we ordered spice level 1 out of 5, and it still had a solid kick. Definitely enough heat to keep you reaching for the next bite without being overwhelming. They also brought out complimentary egg rolls and wontons as appetizers, which was a nice surprise and a great way to start the meal. The restaurant itself is very casual with a simple, no-frills atmosphere that seems mainly focused on to-go orders rather than dine-in ambiance. That said, the food and friendly service were definitely the stars of the experience. Overall, really enjoyable dinner and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Having traveled to Thailand numerous times in the past, boat noodle soup is one of my absolute favorite Thai dishes. This is one spot that I have consistently returned for their boat noodle soup. I will say though, that I have noticed the quantity of their dishes have gone down a little over the years, which I imagine is to be expected given inflation these days. It's a Thai family-owned restaurant, and the dishes are in my opinion, authentic. Well, at least the boat noodle soup is. I have tried the typical fried noodle dishes here as well (think pad thai, pad see ew etc.) and they are all really delicious. It's one legit Thai restaurant I would highly recommend to friends and family to visit. I came here last week for lunch and saw that they have lunch specials during weekdays. Staff is attentive and accommodating. The interior of the restaurant is clean and inviting. They even had fresh roses at every table, which I thought was a really nice touch. They also have an outdoor patio if you would like to sit outside, overlooking the road. I can't imagine sitting outside now during this summer weather we are having but definitely for cooler months. I must say I've been searching for the texture and flavor of the same dish that I ordered in Houston a few years ago. I've ordered it numerous times but never found one that duplicated what I remember as so very tasty. Well-this time I hit the jackpot!!! It was the exact taste and texture with the perfect peanut sauce accompanying it. It was fantastic!! One of the entre'es was Pineapple Curry. I chose Shrimp as my protein for an up-charge. It came with a good quantity of white rice. It didn't denote a spice level but when I dug into it -there were some beautiful shrimp swimming in a red curry. I felt it likely it would have some heat and it did. The heat came at the back of my tongue but curiously it tasted so good I couldn't stop eating it!!! It had some grape tomatoes (I think) cooked in it. I didn't care for the flavor of those -?over ripe?- There were a small quantity so I didn't let it stop me. I did take frequent sips of my cold drink in between my bites. The second entre'e was Fried Rice with scrambled egg and peas&carrots&onion. My son chose Chicken Breast as his protein. He doesn't eat veggies so I requested they didn't add them. When we examined the dish they had indeed removed them. He was very impressed and said it was delicious. The 3rd dish was Drunken Spicy Noodles -which was made with Thai Basil and Peppers. I requested the Thai Basil and Peppers be held and advised we wanted no heat in that dish. My husband doesn't tolerate any spice-even black pepper. His dish looked lovely with sauce covered noodles and lots of thinly sliced beef on top. I served it up. Sadly, he immediately advised me it was too spicy for him. I took a piece of broccoli & a small piece of beef and sure enough when I ate it there was enough spice that my tongue and mouth got hot & numb from the spice level. It was actually too much heat for me too. I actually looked at the ticket for the order that was attached to the bag and it clearly had indicated no heat, no peppers and no spice for that last dish. I did withhold a star due to that. It was evident that our food was prepared and served hot as it was still quite warm when it was delivered. I felt that indicated good service. I can't really speak to the setting, I am familiar with that area of food trucks, but since we had delivery, it really didn't apply. I definitely would try BKK again, but next time in person as I feel like you can't clearly communicate in an online order regarding specificity to your requirements for your food.
