It was extra disappointing because before ordering I asked if the kale blend was liquidy and like a juice, and the worker said that it was thick and not as thin as a smoothie; but it definitely was thinner than a smoothie. It was like water. It also tasted like water. The granola became like oatmeal because it soaked up the liquidy kale blend very quickly. I would've liked more toppings too to compensate for the lack of flavor in everything else. For a bowl named "muscle magic" too, I expected it to be more substantial, but it felt like I ate nothing. The worker was really friendly though, so I feel bad for leaving a 1 star review, but the bowl I got really was so bad. Maybe their acai base bowls or smoothies are a bit better, but the kale blend bowl was not for me. Update: The owner responds to you really quickly, and they are a small business actively trying to improve. If you end up not liking what you get, the owner says they will happily remake it for you or refund you. They refunded me, which I really appreciate. If you want to support a small business, pay them a visit and try them out.

It sucks, but it is what it is. It think the portion is a little smaller than playa bowls but that's to be expected with a small business. I will say that my bowl may have looked smaller, but it was pretty dense. I shared it with my sister and we were both satisfied. I don't think this is a staple item so I wouldn't return often, but as an occasional treat it's worth stopping in.

My boyfriend is a big sauna fan and loves the Wellness Refinery so we made a plan to stop here for…read morea 45 minute session as part of his birthday celebration. It's a great space and the staff here is incredible - friendly, helpful, and explained everything super clearly. The great: + Cute smoothie and juice bar for you to enjoy after your sauna session. + Convenient Old City location. + Sweet touches like writing names on a sign to welcome you, essential oil wipes, ample towels, etc. + The sauna itself is as good as it gets for this kind of experience. Super clean facility and they take a lot of pride in the space. The less great: + I would find it hard to justify the cost of membership with so many clubs around town offering saunas as part of their full gym experience. A 45 minute sessions for two was ~$119. + There was no working remote for us the day I was there to update the infrared lights. Not a huge deal but something that is a key part of the sauna experience not working might turn future customers off. + The plug in for your phone also was really spotty and the speakers kept going in and out. We ended up ditching it and going for silence instead. + Both the sauna space and space outside of the sauna is too small for two people. Overall if you're a sauna enthusiast with lots of discretionary income, OR you're just looking for a new way to escape the winter blues - this is a great option here in Philly.

Wow! So surprised I haven't reviewed Wellness Refinery on Yelp yet! I've been coming here for…read moresaunas for about a year now and I love it! I've convinced my husband, friends, and even some of my husbands friends to come. Every time I leave a sauna session I feel absolutely amazing, and it certainly helps to have a smoothie waiting for you when you're done! I usually do the 30 minute session and I bring the remote in to cycle through all of the infrared light colors. The smoothie options are soo good and I love that they offer seasonal blends too- always something new to try.

Last night I visited with a group of 6 friends for some late night snacks. We ordered a handful of milkshakes, some small burgers, and fries for the table. Nice thing is that service was prompt and our food was served as quickly. In past visits when they were busier the wait time for food was much longer. But that's usually been ~dinner time when the restaurant is also otherwise impacted, so nothing out of the norm. My key lime shake was delicious. Warning: these things are HUGE. Split or be prepared to have an unproductive rest of your day. Fries are so-so in my experience, but honestly when you're gorging down other things like burgers and milkshakes, I'm not focusing too much on any kind of superior fry quality. I'd have shown you a photo, but it was so good it was gone before it came to mind to snap a shot. At restaurants I'm a "get one thing and only get one thing" kind of guy, and for me that's the double Texas Ringer here. If it's your first time, that's what I'd start out with and you can branch out from there on later visits. SOLID burger. Restaurant is generally clean, given the amount of traffic that comes through. The neon 50's (?) vibe is a nice touch to match with the food that's being served for an all-around experience that matches. And open late? Great for your late night dinner or dive food cravings!
