I think it may have tasted even better if my mouth was not on fire from the food LoL! My biggest downside for coming here was lack of interaction. You order from a screen and when they call out your name for your food the place it on a table to pickup. I have a personal preference for interaction at coffee shops. The music was good, but at a level we could have a great conversation. The roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll was tasty, although I'm more used to it on a hoagie or slightly shorter sub roll. That being said, my reco would be like we did - go for the superb (wow!) smoked, dry rub wings and onion rings with Sriracha aioli. (Note - The light, large rings used a Tempura batter.) We arrived with a party of 7 and no reservation but were seated quickly with no hassle. The bartender appeared to be doubling as the server but took great care of us. The menu and draft beer list aren't extensive but what Nicks does they do well. There were enough selections to accommodate everyone, including a vegetarian member of our party. My waffle fries were to die for. Nicks is a great spot for a solid meal in the heart of Old City Philadelphia.

And I will say it was a little better than I remember last time. I got the works with mushrooms, peppers, onions, and provolone. On this one the beef was a little better than last time. The roll is a little too soft for my tastes. It doesn't hold up as well as others. But it was solid. It's still not in my top 10 in the city. But it will go on my more recommended list.

Today (Thurs), I go to the location on 11th street and ordered the small hoagie-- and it was noticeably BIGGER-- like I remember. You should tell customers or reduce the price if you're going to charge the same price for a smaller product :-(
