Since I was back in my old stomping grounds on the eastside of LBC, I decided to check out Da Vien to see if it really lives up to the hype. Let me just say--I'm not a coffee snob, nor do I go to coffee shops for vibes or aesthetics. My "hype check" is based purely on taste and customer service. Based on that, Da Vien absolutely lives up to it. It was my first visit, and Mackenzie--the young lady taking my order--was incredibly patient as I had 'fifty-leven' questions about the drinks. I knew I didn't want anything too sweet or too strong. She recommended a few options, including the Banana Latte. It sounded interesting, so she let me sample the banana cream before I decided. The banana cream was the perfect level of sweetness--not too sweet at all. I ended up ordering the banana cream drink, which is banana cream layered over Da Vien's in-house sweet milk with a shot of bold espresso. I substituted the sweet milk for oat milk, and it was delicious. Parking was easy since it's located in a strip mall. I've heard it can get crowded, but surprisingly--especially for a Saturday afternoon--I walked straight up to the register with no wait. Mackenzie also recommended the Coconut Matcha, so I'll definitely be back to try that next. read more

I've tried to come to this place two times and there's always been a line which is always a positive sign. Finally decided just to order online and pick up. When I went to get my coffee, wouldn't you know it? There was no line but the place was really busy with lots of people inside catching up or on their computers. It was a really nice comfortable vibe. My drink was ready in record time, and I just walked up, saw my name and picked it up. I was greeted with a hello when I walked in, which is always nice. I had their banana coffee, which was amazing. Now I understand why everybody is waiting in line for this place. Plenty of parking in this brand new development. The staff was super helpful explaining the menu and helping me order. They have various ordering options, online, iPad, in person. I ordered the lychee green tea, which was so DELICIOUS! With lychee fruit at the bottom. It was just right,not too sweet or bitter. My only neg was too much ice. I felt like two straw slurps and it was all gone. So maybe request less ice. Welcome to the neighborhood, Da Vien! Specializing in Vietnamese iced coffee and matcha with the *most delectable* cream-tops, it's no surprise the hype that surrounds this shop. The coffee is super strong and super sweet. The shop is really cute with lots of neutral colors, warm lighting, and plants. It definitely seems like a good social coffee spot with a handful of tables and two enormous couches. The people working behind the counter were sweet and friendly, and service was fast. Solid matcha! We got the strawberry cream oat matcha, banana matcha, and the regular matcha. If you're looking for a higher quality matcha to satisfy a matcha craving, this would definitely be on the map for me. It wasn't watered down and the matcha flavor was light and not too overpowering. I usually like my matcha a little stronger and brighter, but this was still tasty. Workers were nice, place was clean. Lots of room to study with a decent amount of outlets. It's not super quiet and it's really bright inside so it might be distracting for some people to study. Otherwise, good overall! read more

I ordered the coconut matcha and I loved it. Service was quick. I walked in and was greeted, they took my order, and I waited probably less than 5 mins. It's one of the mid newest locations so there's plenty of parking since other businesses haven't opened in the plaza yet. Happened to attend an event in the area and decided to drop in because I've heard people rave about their coffee. Needless to say, I came in with some expectations. COFFEE: Got the hot marble drip with 50% sweetness. Coffee tasted great. It was sweet, so I'm not sure if they didn't notice the half sweetness or if their regular coffee is super sweet. ORDERING: Choice of ordering with an actual employee or using their kiosk. There is one kiosk and when I arrived there was a line for the cashier, so I used the kiosk, which had no line. Kiosk was easy to use. Initial prompt asks if you want to earn rewards, so you can put in phone number, email, etc. You know how that goes... I didnt have an account, but the kiosk offered no way to sign up. At least, if it did, it was not apparent. AMBIANCE: Lots of young adults. Mostly chit chatting young women. Clean and contemporary setting. Its a good place for meeting up. PARKING: Relatively newly constructed business plaza, so store fronts are mostly empty, so parking was abundant. Close handicap parking. Overall experience was great. However, I was in the area for a specific event and I was wearing a suit and blazer. When I heard my name called to pick up my coffee from the counter, I noticed it was taped with masking tape across the lid. First impression--Nice! I know it hasn't been tampered with. I removed the tape and went on my way. I got to my destination and the lid was not secure and coffee dribbled on my blouse and blazer. Not too much of an issue because my blouse was the color of the coffee. Maybe I had loosened the lid when I removed the tap. Cool, I'll just secure the lid and make sure it fits. Additional sips later, same issue--coffee down my blouse and blazer. Now I'm a sticky mess. Issue wasn't me, but the lid of the coffee cup. Even secured correctly, coffee seeped through. Defective lid, maybe? Not the best experience, but won't deter me from coming back. Hoping for a better experience next time. read more

I've had this coffee shop on my must-try list for a while, and now that I've finally made it in... I'm hooked. I will absolutely be visiting every chance I get--even if it means taking a little detour. It's that good. I started with the Banana Latte and ordered it with regular milk delicious! When I went back and tried it with my usual oat milk? 10/10. The flavor was creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the Egg Cream Latte, which was just the right level of sweetness while still giving that strong, bold Vietnamese coffee kick. The prices are a little higher than your typical franchise coffee spots, but honestly, the quality and portion size are worth it. The cream is whipped to the perfect thickness--rich, silky, and blends beautifully with the latte. They're located in a shopping center with plenty of parking, which is a big plus. Even though they stay pretty busy, the wait is surprisingly short and the turnaround time is quick. Overall, absolutely worth the visit. I'm already planning my next one! read more

Da Vien.... you da man fr this is favorite coffee shop right now hands down yall got coffee keeping me up for 12+ hrs. and i am a SLEEPY girl. i usually be crashing after energy drinks, coffees, etc. but na da vien has a secret code in their coffee truly. I love their marble drip and their DV coffee. Marble drip was the first one I had and it kept me UUUPPPP. then DV literally erased the fact that I get sleepy once the sun is gone. The coffee flavor HITS. it's robust, coffee bean-y and not that burnt taste i get from some places. It's balanced right with their sweet foam or their dairy. y'all idk, I should've signed up for the rewards cause I am here too often now. it's soooooo good. & I'm happy they opened in LB because the closest one to me before was garden grove and i was like mm I'm not going to drive that far. There is parking in the plaza but the spots are kinda tight, otherwise you'll always find an open spot. The ambiance is s'cute. This spot gets 3 stars overall. Parking can be frustrating, even though it's technically in the Aldi parking lot -- once it gets crowded, it's very much a Long Beach situation. The drinks were kinda mid overall -- not bad, just nothing that really stood out -- but they're nice to have if you're already using the app or catching one of their occasional deals. That said, it's located in a slightly better, up-and-coming part of Long Beach that's clearly in the process of changing. My family and I came here during the soft opening, and it was so nice! My family got the Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and Matcha Cream, the Matcha Einspanner with Oat Milk, and the Coconut Matcha. The Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and Matcha Cream was so good. Some places call it a double matcha. The matcha cream paired with the matcha latte made the flavor stronger. It wasn't too bitter or too sweet. The Matcha Einspanner with Oat Milk was a bit surprising to me. I've gotten Matcha Einspanners at different cafes, but the one at Da Vien has a salty cream. I believe it's like sea salt bc I did bite into a grain of salt when I drank it. The Matcha Einspanner isn't my personal favorite only because I'm not really a fan of salted cream. However, the matcha latte under the cream was good. The Coconut Matcha was quite refreshing. It's a fun, refreshing drink if you want the matcha taste and coconut water. It's not super sweet or bitter because the coconut water is balances it all out. The employees are so kind! I went during their soft opening, the employees are still learning so please be patient. I didn't mind waiting for them to learn the system because I know they're going to be great baristas. The cafe is so big. I believe it's bigger than the Cerritos location. There's tons of seating and tables, there's lots of bright lighting, it's very clean in there, and there's a self-ordering kiosk if you don't want to order with an employee. I can already see this cafe becoming a big studying spot just like the other Da Vien's I've visited. There's plenty of parking now because there's nothing else open in the plaza . There's also tons of Tesla chargers nearby if you want to charge your Tesla and come inside for a sweet treat. So excited a Da Vien opened close to my house! I've been going to their Cerritos location and I love their Vietnamese coffee and matcha drinks. I came for their soft opening and it was a nice experience. The parking wasn't so bad, it's located in a new shopping plaza so parking could be in a problem in the future when more businesses start opening here. Inside, the ambiance was really nice and modern with plenty of tables. They have self checkout or you can order with the cashier. I ordered a marble coffee and matcha einspanner. After only frequenting the Cerritos location since we discovered Da Vien earlier this year, the long awaited Long Beach location has opened! With an appealing exterior and stunning interior, this location offers a choice of kiosk or cashier ordering experience (though I believe you can't redeem points at the kiosk). We've been here twice since they opened a couple weeks ago, and all our drinks have been delish. There's a good amount of seating (tables with chairs and a couch area for groups), although it's been pretty full both of the times we've gone, assumedly because they're newly opened, which is great for them! Very happy to have a local Da Vien where we can become regulars. read more

I was so excited when I saw that Da Vien was opening a location in Long Beach! I've been to a couple of the OC locations and the Cerritos one. This one is a bit smaller than some of the other ones, but it looked like there is a good amount of parking in the plaza when I went. We ordered on the kiosk and our drinks were prepped pretty fast. I came across Da Vein Coffee Long Beach location during their soft opening and had to try this Instagram-famous spot. The menu is impressive -- so many fan favorites like Egg Cream, Matcha, Ube, and Banana matcha drinks...etc This is actually my second visit (this time at their Cerritos location), and the drinks are still consistently good! Last time, I tried the Egg Cream and it was super creamy. Today, I went for the Ube Cream -- the color is beautiful, and while I personally wish the ube flavor was a little stronger, it's still very delicious. I also added the brown sugar crystal boba on top, and it paired perfectly. Service is great as well. The staff greet every customer, call out orders clearly, and the line moves fast, even when they're busy on a Sunday morning ! The shop is brand new, bright, and clean, with light grey tones, wooden furniture, and a few plants that create a warm and cozy vibe. However, as someone who has worked in a coffee shop for years, I know that when these mistakes happen, it's the employees job to fix the issue without being passive aggressive.
