I came here a week or two after it opened but the line wrapped around the store so went somewhere else. it's pretty new and popular so I recommend going on a day you don't mind waiting long or a time you think it's not as busy. i came again last week and there was basically no line and it went by fast. we ordered on kiosk. the drinks were ready in less than 10 minutes. i had the ube matcha before in socal and it was really good, but here the top is too watery and not that flavorful. surprisingly i liked the strawberry oat milk matcha better but its really sweet. both good, but place is kind of overhyped right now, overall good spot but just busy. read more

I love that "Da Vien" means "ice cube" in Viet. I'm super grateful that Da Vien finally opened in Milpitas! I've heard many great things from SoCal folks about them and they surely live up to their name! My favorite drinks are the egg cream coffee and strawberry cream oat matcha. The egg cream was sweet and compliments the strong coffee. While the strawberry cream tasted deliciously rich and pairs well with the surprisingly good (and not watered down) matcha. The staff were friendly and service was super quick even with the long lines. Their app is quite nice as I can customize my Viet coffee with a variety of cream options like banana cream. In the future I hope they offer more cream toppings such as salted cream (please do!) and an option to make the coffee slightly stronger without extra espresso would be a plus. They need to open more locations for Da Vien across the bay because I can't be driving to Milpitas everyday but I would if I could for this cup of coffee. I got the classic marble drip with 50% sweetness (I love that you can do this because a lot of Viet coffee shops don't allow for this), but it might have been the most perfect cup of iced coffee I've ever had. I came on Tuesday during the soft opening and the line wasn't too bad! I waited about 5 minutes to order and got my drink quickly. The coffee shop is located in a busy parking lot so definitely give yourself time to find parking. There's plenty of tables to sit inside but it gets loud so I'm not sure if it's a good place to study or work. Service was great and they answered all my questions. As a person that comes down to LA and get this on almost all the time now, I would say I was so ecstatic that it opened their first northern California location close to me. The wait wasn't too long for a soft opening. They still have their limited menu and will return when they have their bingsoo. Strawberry Cream Oat Latte (4.6/5) - I love their coffee. It is a nice brew of Vietnamese coffee topped with a strawberry cream foam. The foam tasted like the strawberry cream from the yan yan which brought back a lot of childhood. Overall, it was delicious and I will come back to get my usual marble drip. read more

Da Vien Coffee - the famous Socal coffee chain finally open in Milpitas and as a foodie, there's no way I would skip it. It's their 2nd day but the line was shockingly long, but luckily it move really fast, we only waited around 15 mins only, and drinks came out in like 5-7 mins after ordering, so impressively efficient work!!! Huge applause for the staffs! The coffee tho... it was super strong, my heart was literally racing. But also really good, probably the best one you could've had in the Bay right now. I got the marble drip and ube coffee. Both are good but I def like marble drip more, I can see why it the most-ordered from the menu. It's strong but still addictive enough, and a bit too sweet even though I chose 50% sugar. Next time I think I will go with 30% only. I've visited the Da Vien in Westminster multiple times and was excited to see them open up a Bay Area location. There was a line to order when I visited in April 2026, a few weeks after opening, but it took less than 15 minutes to receive our drinks. We opted for the Iced Marble Coffee and Einspanner Cream Coffee as they were listed on the menu as top favorites. Both were very creamy and rich. We ordered 30% sugar and ice, but potentially will go lower next time if possible for a stronger, bitter coffee taste and for less ice to reduce how much it waters down. For those who prefer stronger coffee, I would recommend the egg coffee or coconut coffee which has less cream. read more

To my surprise, the prices are way better at $6-8 instead of your usual $8-12 elsewhere. Ok ok... the quality of the coffee, definitely a HIT!! The store manager and the cashier Taylor were super nice and friendly- and though the line looked long, it went by a lot faster and a lot more efficient than most coffee places. We tried the Einspanner coffee, the Einspanner matcha and the Marble drip. Soft opening! As of yesterday I think. We came today on Sunday at 8am and there were about 7 people in line in front of us. We were able to order pretty quickly but it took about 25 minutes to get our drinks. Probably didn't have all the coffee ready since they just opened. Seemed like they were pumping out drinks fast but maybe not calling out the orders in a timely fashion or in the order they were received. But there were also a lot of online orders already and even DoorDash orders being picked up. Surprising they're already taking online and DoorDash orders during soft opening. I feel like most places also wait until 30 min after opening for online orders too. Got the marble drip, coconut coffee, and strawberry oat cream matcha latte. Self service kiosk has optional sugar adjustments. From a user interface perspective I feel like it might make more sense to just make the field required but already have 100% sweetness selected. Almost accidentally selected extra or half sweet. We've had Da Vien in socal a few times but never thought it was mind blowingly good, it was just decent. Never a must go when down there but it was convenient and open late. Today though I feel like it beats out other local Vietnamese coffee spots. I like the marble drip more than I thought I would because typically I like a thick creamy top. The caffeine is stronger than other places too I feel like. We went outside in the heat for a little after and I didn't feel so good when combining heat and caffeine. Coconut coffee I think the coffee was a little burnt or extra roasted, but later when the drink got a little more melted and mixed together it tasted better. Matcha started off strong and the foam reminded wifey of strawberry pocky but then later on she said it tasted artificial and she got sick of it. Very aesthetically pleasing inside. My friend showed up an hour after me and they only had to wait 10 minutes for their drinks, so seems they can churn out the drinks pretty quick. There is a lot of parking but not directly in front, so you might have to walk over. The plaza can become a shit show later in the day. A very welcome addition to Milpitas though! read more

The place is still pretty new, but the vibe is cozy, welcoming, and aesthetic. You can tell they put a lot of effort into creating a nice atmosphere. been hearing a lot about this place when it was open in socal so i've been dying to try it out. so glad that they've finally opened one in norcal finally. this is another place to try out some vietnamese coffee. so far looking for a good place in norcal for vietnamese coffee is pretty abundant. it's just based on your preference. so far in my opinion i finally found two places worth going to for good quality coffee and this place is probably a good option. in my opinion and my family's opinion, the drinks were well made. at 30% sweetness level was perfect for me while i thought full on sweet was way too sweet for me. so if you aren't into the sweetness level and just want a hint of it go for the 30%. make sure you do mix your drinks to get it all incorporated or just take sips to enjoy the layers of the drinks. you definitely can adjust your sweetness levels from full sweet (100%) to less sweet (30%). you can go for the option of normal level of coffee or not strong coffee too. all drinks looks like it ranges from $6+ and some crafty drink options, teas and food as well. there was only one kiosk to order from and of course they have someone at the cashier to order from. they do have an app you can order ahead from and pick up, but i came before the official opening so it wasn't available just yet. it's quite small inside with very limited seatings and tables, but the decor was simple and modern. i loved the aesthetics. parking is a bit of a nightmare since it is in a middle of a shopping area. would i come back? yes, i would. the drinks were delicious and there was nothing wrong with them. though i would try the normal strength of the coffee and see if there was a difference in taste. read more

Final Thoughts: 3.70/5.0 New coffee/matcha place from Orange County to the Bay. It's always exciting to see things from SoCal be through here because I do miss some of it. I really wanted to like this place as much as I did in OC, but the quality is different from what I had. Will bump the rating to a soft 4 star, but I do see some room for improvements. Drinks: Banana Matcha Latte, 16 oz., 30% Sweetness, Oat milk, Regular Ice: 3.5/5 This latte is just "ok". The banana cream kind of sank to the bottom. Looking at the drink components individually, the base of the matcha is quite light. There's not much of a matcha flavor from the powder used or oat flavor from the milk. Consistency of it is thin and not that smooth on the tongue. For the banana cream, it's very heavy on the heavy cream perhaps. All of it sank to the bottom and didn't mix well into the drink. The mouthfeel of it felt rich too and was almost too "oily" on my tongue. Flavor wise, the banana flavor is present. However, it tastes like the artificial banana, which I really dislike. The natural flavors are typically unmatched for me, so it was a bit disappointing to taste an artificial banana flavor. Einspanner Matta Latte, 20 oz., 50% sweetness, Oat Milk, Less Ice: 3.5/5 Friend's choice today and I tried it for review purposes. Base of the drink is essentially the same as my banana latte. The flavor of the matcha was also not too present. Mouthfeel could be smoother for me. The cream has a nice flavor to it. It's very light and contributes well to the flavor profile. For the mouthfeel of this cream, it is also too rich and oily on my tongue. Their ratio leans heavier on the heavy cream, which some people may prefer, but it's not for me because I like the lighter drinks. Because of this consistency, it also doesn't incorporate well into the drink and it just sitting at the top or clumping when it gets mixed in. Sweetness wise, very very sweet for something that's 50% sweetness. The cream is overwhelming sweet already and for that to be incorporated into the matcha base is simply too much for me. Coconut Matcha: xx Pictured, but not tasted for review. Visuals/First Impressions: Appealing/Nice Layering Their drinks are usually quite visually appealing because the layering is generally really good. You'll see this with the einspanner lattes and the ones with another flavor cream added to it (ube cream, strawberry cream, etc.). Matcha color is vibrant even though the flavor might say otherwise. This is interesting because they were definitely more known for their coffees in SoCal. Here, their coffee drinks look watered down and they don't have that deep Vietnamese coffee color that I'm used to. --------- Quality: Interesting Their matcha that they use is so interesting because the color is so nice/deep, but the flavor is lacking. Looks like a good quality of ceremonial grade matcha, but just of a different flavor profile. Of note, their cup sizes are either 16 oz or 20 oz, which is larger than what I'm used to. Definitely not complaining about having a large cup size, but a deeper matcha flavor is what I fear of lacking with a larger cup because they're typically more diluted with milk and ice. I hear that 5 grams of matcha is used in the cup and that's around how much I would typically put in my smaller cup of daily matcha. Price: Average Their prices are aiight for being in Milpitas area. For three drinks, the total came to about $23. Their drinks are within $5 to $7, but those are only base prices. They include upcharges ($0.50 to $1) for other items like milk substitutes and additional toppings. Service: Sweet Currently with the hype, the line is just out the door and snaking all the way around the corner of the shop. Even with that, the wait time isn't terrible from standing in line to getting our drinks. We got there around 3:50pm and got out drinks at 4:25pm. The employees were apologetic in regard to the wait time and said they were still within a training phase. There's also one employee standing outside with the menu and directing the traffic as we get to the door. Love the traffic control and preview of the menu in preparation to order. Ambiance: Lil Cramped This space is quite big. Interior is bright and open. The sitting and waiting area does get a little crowded because of the tables there. Perhaps they could move some tables around and make an actual waiting area versus having tables be spread out too much. There was a lot of maneuvering and weaving around people to get from the sitting area to the counter. Location/Parking: Large Plaza, Optimal Parking This place was previously Heuk Hwa Dang. It's located in the same plaza as Daeho on W Calaveras Blvd. Honestly the drivers and parking here can stress me out sometimes, especially the intersection where we first enter and everyone is trying to figure out when their turn to go is. There is a lot of parking within this area. Never been too big of a problem around here for us. read more

I've been seeing the hype around this place opening up their first Bay Area location, and I've been wanting to go but was scared of the long lines I was hearing about. Well I went today, on a Saturday around 6pm, and it was bustling and busy but there was basically no line! I ordered their Marble Drip but added strawberry cream on top and oh my goddd it was so perfect. Their strawberry cream tastes like if strawberry Loacker wafers and strawberry Häagen-Dazs had a baby. Niche description but it fits the taste perfect. The Marble Drip has sweet milk at the bottom and their Viet coffee on top. I felt like it was the perfect sweetness for me, not too overly sweet like some Viet coffees can be. The cream on top makes the drink sweeter though and gives it a dessert vibe which I loved. I need to try the Marble Drip with all their other creams now!! My fiancé got a plain Viet coffee which was good but so boring compared to my perfectly concocted drink. I was really excited when I saw posts on Instagram that Da Vien will open in the Bay. I loved and missed their banana matcha in Garden Grove soo much and this new place did not disappoint.
