Ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oatmilk on Sat afternoon around 4pm. Not alot of people inside but they also only have one table with seats and just a long bench along the side. Only thing u can customize is one or two matcha shots( got 1 bc it's later in the day) and ice level and oat milk ($1 extra). So $8.70 for my drink. It came out pretty quickly and looked good. First sip, felt like matcha wasnt as strong as i remember, but i also usually go to Cupertino location, but i also just got one shot so maybe they usually did 2? Not sure. The sweetness isnt high which i like and the strawberry sauce is good. Overall was just okay. I need to try the cupertino location to see if this is really how it is here now bc this is usually my go-to matcha chain!

I've been here a couple more times since it first opened a few years ago in which I didn't have the best experience. I would say it has improved a lot since then. I'm not a huge matcha fiend, but I did like the ice cream matcha and sesame swirl as well as the crème brûlée matcha drink/dessert. The wait wasn't long for a Saturday an hour before noon, but that can quickly change because a huge line formed a few minutes after ordering. Unfortunately they only have one digital kiosk and the lines can get long. You can also go to the front to order. There is no seating inside, but there are some tables outside.

Ordered on Kiosk is convenient and fast , it is a nice place that you can either sit down or just grab and go. The matcha latte is legit, want to try their Hojicha latte next time.

Date: Friday, January 30th, 2026 What: Matcha Delivery Ordered Thru: DoorDash DoubleDash Time Placed: around 4:45pm Arrived: about an hour later Neighborhood Delivered to: Evergreen *Classic Honey Matcha Tea ($7.50) *Service Fee ($1.99) I was ordering dinner and decided to add a matcha to it. (I was too lazy to make one at home myself.) I'm a purist so I adore just straight matcha. That wasn't an option here, so I decided to try the honey one. I figured they are known for matcha and I don't mind a tiny bit of sweetness, so this should be fine. I was wrong. The honey was very overwhelming for me. So much so, it took away from what I love about matcha - the delicate grassy notes, slight bitterness, etc. I ended up adding another scoop or two of matcha I had at home to cut into the sweetness. I think the matcha itself was probably fine, though the honey was too much for me. REVIEW #3974

We went on Friday at 4 pm and it wasn't busy at all so we got our drinks pretty fast. The store was almost empty at this point. The store looked kind of dead and did not have a lot of tables + seatings except the long bench. There's plenty of parking spaces since it's in a plaza. We got 2 of the creme brulee matcha swirl due to the hype of this drink. The cream was extremely thick and just for my preference, it was too much. The matcha was not as strong to balance the sweetness and decadency of the cream. We ended up letting it melt a bit so we can drink the matcha without having to eat chunks of the cream. If you like your matcha thick, then I recommend this drink! It was just not up my alley unfortunately.

Came around 6 pm on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. Ordered quickly on the self serve kiosk and drink came out quickly too. Not able to adjust the sweetness for the creme brulee matcha so it got kinda sweet. The matcha was creamy and heavy but pretty matcha forward. It's more of a dessert drink so it's kinda a lot lol.

I've seen all the hype for the Creme brûlée matcha and finally came to SJ to try it! Wasn't too busy on a weekday around 6PM. Ordered via the tablet and it was ready quickly. Wasn't able to adjust the sweetness, so some sips were a bit sweet from the creme brûlée but some sips were more bitter and matcha-forward. Decent size for the price. I'm not sure if it quite lives up to my expectations (OMOMO has a similar drink which I enjoy) but it's a good, strong and creamy drink, more of a dessert matcha if you're in the mood for that!

The inside is very spacious but only has benches on the side. There's no inside tables. You just order from the kiosks and they call your number. You can taste the quality of the matcha at this place, which is very nice and hard to find. It gets pretty busy and in a busy location.

SO SO SO good. My mom and I think about this drink so often. There were chunks of creme brulee which we really liked! It was a good mix of matcha and creaminess / richness. We got the drink pretty fast but it also wasn't too busy!

Izumi Matcha has been a top option for matcha over the past year. While Izumi was popular over the summer of 2025, recently Izumi has been much emptier. The service is great, and they make your drinks very fast. The taste is very consistent, and they do have a large menu with lots of different items other than matcha. My only downside is the variety of matcha over the recent year. From last year and this year, the menu for matcha has not changed much, and it seems like I get the same taste every time I go. While the first time was enjoyable, after it just gets repetitive. I love Izumi, but I really wish there was a rotation between drinks.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon, and the line was to right about the door. It moved pretty quickly, about less than 10 minutes to the kiosk. I love that you can get an extra matcha shot for free here! It took about another 10 minutes for them to finish my drink. Definitely not a bad wait, as I've had to wait for a total of an hour at their peak popularity before. Their strawberry matcha latte is decently good. The matcha is a bit astringent with a bitter note, but the strawberry complimented the flavors well. I honestly wouldn't say this is the best matcha quality I've had. The star here is really their crème brûlée matcha hurricane though--I loved how the matcha slush blended with the creamy crème brûlée! Perfect amount of sweetness as well. I think they've removed some of the tables inside since I've lasted been here. It's more of a pick up and go location, instead of sit-down. Parking can be a pain sometimes in that plaza, so what I like to do is park in the adjacent lot and walk over.

This was my very first time at this location. We were greeted by this homeless dude near the front of the place. We felt extremely safe knowing that there was a private security (homeless dude), an amenity that other Izumi Matcha locations don't provide. I got my usual, the hibiscus yuzu and the matcha creme brûlée. It was super good! Refreshing for the herbal drink and smooth and not too overly sweet for the matcha drink. Parking sucks so keep that in mind though.

Uniqueness: Authentic matcha drinks served here with great quality & not long lines some times! Wait Time: [x][x][x][x][x] Drink Quality: [x][x][x][x][x] Service: [x][x][x][x][ ] Setting: [x][x][x][x][ ] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Recommendation? Matcha Creme Brûlée is must for the sugar lovers, anything matcha is obviously a great choice here. Coming here several times during peak hours and off hours, Izumi Matcha is a great alternative location to go to vs. their other location in Cupertino when it comes to getting some great quality matcha drinks here. They should have all that they offer compared to their Cupertino location and their creme brûlée matcha swirl is a fan favorite here (definitely recommend it for first timers and those who like their drinks on the sweeter side). I've had their honey matcha and hojicha drinks here before too and you can tell the matcha they use is fresh due to the slight bitterness you sometimes get. Lines can be long at time but if you come at off hours, I've seen instances where it was literally 2 people inside & no wait time at all. Staff are friendly and never had any issue with anyone inside making the drinks relatively quick. I'll recommend Izumi Matcha as one of the few drink spots in this packed plaza to choose from and definitely be back for more.

I ordered a large Thai milk tea with honey boba and double espresso shots, along with an order of popcorn chicken. The total came to nearly $24, which would be easier to accept if the quality matched the price. The Thai milk tea, even at 75% sugar and with added double shots, tasted watered down and lacked the rich tea flavor I expected. The honey boba was equally disappointing, with little to no noticeable honey flavor despite being marketed as such. The popcorn chicken was crispy, but I specifically ordered mild seasoning and received something that was noticeably spicy. If you're sensitive to spice, be aware that their definition of "mild" may differ from yours. What disappointed me just as much as the food was the service. There were three young employees working behind the counter who appeared far more engaged in conversations with each other than interacting with customers. There was no greeting, no welcoming atmosphere, and no effort to explain or recommend items from their menu. For a first-time customer, the experience felt indifferent and uninterested. The gaming kiosk tables are unique and appear to be a major feature of the business. However, I left with the impression that much of what customers are paying for is the gaming setup rather than the quality of the food, drinks, or service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location. There are many other boba shops and popcorn chicken spots that offer better flavor, better value, and better customer service at similar or lower prices. Given my visit, the numerous glowing reviews don't reflect the experience I received. I came in expecting a highly rated destination and left wondering if the ratings are based more on the gaming tables than the food and drinks themselves.

What I can't say is that this place is consistent. The actual boba is always perfectly soft and chewy. But the make-up of my Matcha Smoothie, which I always get, is often all over the place. Today, it was PERFECT. But even when it isn't, it's still really good. Sometimes the sugar level is off (I like 25%); it's often too low or too high. Sometimes the matcha level is off; or the milk level. I'm not sure why it differs so much. But I always come back. It's like gambling for that high lol. They get it right about 75% of the time. Between the years of 23'-25', it was really off. I ended up moving away so it wasn't a huge deal. But it got to the point where I avoided ordering my usual whenever I was in town. To circumvent disappointment, I would order the other tasty matcha offerings; like the Matcha banana or the Matcha strawberry. They aren't as satisfying for me, but they hit the spot-- more winter-friendly anyway. Thanks to those years, I tried other items that I normally wouldn't, and found them incredibly tasty and well-balanced. As of now, I still love this place. And I wish more people knew about it. I might have mentioned a lot negatives, but even at their worst, their drinks are still better than most places. Summer is very crushable with their splendid offerings. Thank you for existing

RANG Final…read moreThoughts: 4.50/5 Review for Rang. They have weekly matcha pop ups at Rose Tea Lounge. Original location is in Elk Grove, but they are here in San Jose area. Kind of hard to see and find them? given that there aren't really any signs posted outside. I perhaps wouldn't have known about it if my friend didn't tell me about it. Drink: Guava Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This is their matcha with house-made guava puree at the bottom and topped with silky guava foam. Their foam is so nice and creamy. Felt very light and just thick enough. Silky consistency that mixed well with the drink. My friend noted that they make it fairly sweet, so I opted for the 25%. This was still quite sweet for me. Each component is sweet itself, so when you combine it, its mostly just sweet. No tartness to cut any of it. Perhaps the guava has something to do with that. Guava is a sweet fruit in general, so I seemed to expect as much. The matcha itself had a nice color to it. Very vibrant. Light bitterness. Lovely consistency overall. I like each component separately and I like them together when it's fully combined. Strawberry Matcha Einspanner: 4.5/5 This was my friends drink and I also really liked it. Had to try it for my review purposes. Per their Door Dash description, this is their matcha latte with their home-made strawberry puree and topped with velvety strawberry foam. There really wasn't much of a difference with this one and mine besides the fruit. His was slightly more tart than mine, which is something I like. Again, the drink itself leans more on the sweet side, so any sort of tartness would be nice to cut some of that. Matcha color is amazing. Nice and vibrant. Lovely silky consistency. I like the ratio of fruit flavor and matcha. Some places will make it just taste like milk, others have an imbalance of flavors. This one was just right for me. --------- Quality: Ceremonial Matcha and whisked to order We saw them whisk the matcha to order. Not really a display cooking kind of counter, but they do do all of that in the front where the cashiers are. You are able to watch if you so choose. I do like the matcha that they use, so it seems like a high quality one. That or it's because they aren't batching their matcha like other places. I understand that batching doesn't make it lower quality, but something about whisking it fresh is always better. Price: Average Will depend on the drink, but the prices are around $7 to $9. For our drinks, average around $8.25 per drink. Quite a common price range for a cup of matcha. This one was made well, so no complaints here. There was no upcharge for the oatmilk, which is always a plus for us. Service: Whisked matcha fresh No interactions today. We ordered directly on the kiosk and then just waited for our drinks to come out. Something that I like is that they whisk and make the matcha in front of us. Kind of hard to see, given my height and spot that we were standing, but they do whisk it in the front for us. Of note, they use this hand towel or cloth to wipe the bowls. Not sure how sanitation does with that, but I digress. Just an observation for today. Ambiance: Quaint Flower Café Vibes This place is giving very quaint flower café vibes. I would totally work here if I could work from home or if I needed to study. Space is incredibly spacious on the inside contrary to how the outside and plaza area is looking. Little dim lit inside, but that might be from the little lighting that's hitting through the windows given the angle and evening sun. Location/Parking: Small Plaza This place is like a pop-up/collaboration with Rose Tea Lounge. There's really no label for it outside of the storefront, but when you go into the café and on the kiosk, you can directly order from them. Kind of interesting how it works and I probably would have never seen it if my friend didn't bring me here. Location is not the best as it is right in a smaller plaza on the side of Story Road near the 101 freeway. At least they chose an area that is slightly less saturated. Vietnam Town is really close by and they really do have too much going on over there sometimes. Parking lot is also small, but it seems to work well with the smaller plaza size.

The shop was empty of customers; they must be busy in the mornings. They sell three donuts for $10.50, but they seemed to be out of quite a few flavors, so I ordered two chocolate and one Nutella. They have quite a bit of seating. All their mochi doughnuts are displayed in a glass case. Unfortunately they did not have all the flavors available when I was there. The young lady helping me was very kind. I asked her when the best time to come when all the flavors are available. She said in the early morning. Next time I'll stop by a little earlier so I can try some of the other doughnut flavors. All three mochi doughnuts were delicious. My favorite was the Biscoff flavor.
