It's quite a wait for your order and the che itself and drinks are average. They cost more than other places and it doesn't meet the expectations. I've been to Co Ba several times, and the first thing I ever got was so good I've never ordered anything else off the menu. Which is slightly regrettable, but I think also speaks to how good the Ha Long Sunset is. I love the combination of the fruits and other toppings make for interesting textures and a mix of sweetnesses that, combined with the coconut milk, make for an excellent dessert! Drinking a whole cup of coconut milk is almost certainly not great for you though, so I try to be careful with going too often. 50% sweet is also very sweet already, i don't think I could handle 100%. The store itself is quite nice inside, there's a fair amount of seating for a small shop, and while I generally get mine to go, it can be nice to eat yours fresh inside! read more

My favorite place for a refreshing drink! My go to all day is the Saigon Pearl... which includes pandan jelly, red pearl, young coconut, grass jelly, chia seeds, longan and coconut water... for the most part healthy and refreshing, with 25% sweetness. There is a long wait sometimes because this place is so good and popular so make sure to order ahead if you can. Parking is slightly limited but I never had a problem finding parking. Some of the best che I've had in the area! The shop is almost always busy, yet the staff are very helpful and attentive. I usually get the Ha Noi Mist which is such a classic and refreshing dessert. I've even gotten it to go and they package a separate bag of ice to make sure it doesn't melt and get diluted on the way home! I tried the Hoi An Imperial (warm) which was also very delicious which strong coconut components. I loved the warm taro chewy pieces in particular. I've been to Co Ba twice now and had a great experience both times. I was looking for a reliable dessert spot open late that serves desserts on the lighter side, and che fit the bill perfectly. Both times I've gone were half an hour before closing and the store was packed. The first time I got the Ha Noi Mist and the Lychee Rose, the second time I got the Ha Long Sunset and a limited stock warm specialty dessert with pandan and ube dumplings in a ginger coconut sauce. The Ha Noi Mist's ingredients sounded the most aligned with my personal preferences and I got the Lychee Rose to try something different but refreshing on a warm summer night. I was hesitant to get the Ha Long Sunset since I'm not a fan of jackfruit but Eric voted for it, and also the dumplings since a ginger coconut sauce sounds weird but he said that's what he wanted. Sipping che through a straw definitely beats spooning it. Make sure to thoroughly mix the drink and crush up the ice a bit before indulging. On my first visit I didn't notice the kiosk and ordered with the cashier so I was confused at how I would know when my order is ready because I didn't get a number or a receipt, but I later noticed the screens displaying that information on the wall. I'm a big fan of pandan jelly. The red pearls can be good but can sometimes have a bit of a crunchy chew in the center. Young coconut has a good flavor but a texture that isn't my favorite. I did not like the jackfruit in the Ha Long Sunset, but the flavor wasn't strong enough to ruin the whole dessert. I feel like che is a dessert that is not necessarily expensive or time consuming to produce, and the milk tea/fruit tea prices here are definitely on the pricey end given their component ingredients. The parking lot is on the smaller end, but not to the point where it's impossible to find parking - people are constantly pulling in and out of the lot so your parking chances are good. The interior is on the modern looking side, with a mural on the wall and somewhat dim lighting. I got the ube waffle, which takes around 10-15 minutes to prepare (since I ordered with the worker instead of the kiosk, she had warned me about the wait time) since they make it as you order. I am no stranger to a Vietnamese coffee but this is my first time trying Vietnamese deserts and I was excited to try their desert flights. Let me start off by saying I love Coconut. My first try, I thought it was yummy and of course sweet (hence the sharable) My favorite would be Phu Quoc Paradise. I could see myself ordering that again. As far as the price, it was $22.50. Which I thought made sense considering 3 people could eat this desert. Pandan and Ube waffle. These are made to order so there is a 10-15 min wait. The texture was perfect. The waffles are not too sweet and have coconut and pandam jelly inside. It is served with a side of coconut sauce, so that will add more sweetness for you. Matcha paradise. The names also confused me because they literally don't mean anything to me.... As Vietnamese people, we literally did not know what we were ordering from the description of each until we tasted them and was like oh.. it's this. I don't see the harm in putting the actual name of the Che on the menu, even if it's just in the description of them. We would rank them: 1) Che 3 mau 2)che Thai 3) Che suong sao hot e. The cup is too small for even mix them without it spilling over the edge. The tiny spoon is also useless for eating it as it did not pick up anything... Given that this is a flight, I feel like it should represent the best Che they offer, but they all fell short.
