I think I found my new favorite Vietnamese café and matcha spot in the neighborhood! Their Cloud Matcha at 50% sweetness absolutely hit the spot. It was creamy, refreshing, and had a subtle Vietnamese chè-inspired flavor that I really loved. My husband ordered a kumquat-based drink and finished it within seconds, so that was clearly a hit too. Some of the best che I've had in the area! The shop is almost always busy, yet the staff are very helpful and attentive. I usually get the Ha Noi Mist which is such a classic and refreshing dessert. I've even gotten it to go and they package a separate bag of ice to make sure it doesn't melt and get diluted on the way home! I tried the Hoi An Imperial (warm) which was also very delicious which strong coconut components. I loved the warm taro chewy pieces in particular. I've been to Co Ba twice now and had a great experience both times. I was looking for a reliable dessert spot open late that serves desserts on the lighter side, and che fit the bill perfectly. Both times I've gone were half an hour before closing and the store was packed. The first time I got the Ha Noi Mist and the Lychee Rose, the second time I got the Ha Long Sunset and a limited stock warm specialty dessert with pandan and ube dumplings in a ginger coconut sauce. The Ha Noi Mist's ingredients sounded the most aligned with my personal preferences and I got the Lychee Rose to try something different but refreshing on a warm summer night. I was hesitant to get the Ha Long Sunset since I'm not a fan of jackfruit but Eric voted for it, and also the dumplings since a ginger coconut sauce sounds weird but he said that's what he wanted. Sipping che through a straw definitely beats spooning it. Make sure to thoroughly mix the drink and crush up the ice a bit before indulging. On my first visit I didn't notice the kiosk and ordered with the cashier so I was confused at how I would know when my order is ready because I didn't get a number or a receipt, but I later noticed the screens displaying that information on the wall. I'm a big fan of pandan jelly. The red pearls can be good but can sometimes have a bit of a crunchy chew in the center. Young coconut has a good flavor but a texture that isn't my favorite. I did not like the jackfruit in the Ha Long Sunset, but the flavor wasn't strong enough to ruin the whole dessert. I feel like che is a dessert that is not necessarily expensive or time consuming to produce, and the milk tea/fruit tea prices here are definitely on the pricey end given their component ingredients. Wow!! I've been wanting to try something like this when I saw something similar on social media! We don't have any of this in Las Vegas! I had to make it over here! I am no stranger to a Vietnamese coffee but this is my first time trying Vietnamese deserts and I was excited to try their desert flights. Let me start off by saying I love Coconut. I did notice there were outlets and charging ports in the seating which is nice if you come here to do work, but the tables are small and round so there isn't much space. Was craving a sweet treat so decided to come here after dinner. The restaurant is open until 10:30pm on typical weekdays -- there are people studying inside or groups just enjoying conversations with one another, honestly great vibes. Despite it being late on a weekday, all but one table were occupied, so luckily we were able to get a seat. There's also some outdoor tables outside if needed. The parking lot is on the smaller end, but not to the point where it's impossible to find parking - people are constantly pulling in and out of the lot so your parking chances are good. The interior is on the modern looking side, with a mural on the wall and somewhat dim lighting. I got the ube waffle, which takes around 10-15 minutes to prepare (since I ordered with the worker instead of the kiosk, she had warned me about the wait time) since they make it as you order. The location is kinda odd being in a plaza and next to all the tech buildings. When we first arrived, we thought we had punched in the wrong address. We ordered the Che flight and was surprised about the price! I think it's too overpriced for the size since each Che can only have a splash of each ingredient before the cup becomes full. The names also confused me because they literally don't mean anything to me.... As Vietnamese people, we literally did not know what we were ordering from the description of each until we tasted them and was like oh.. it's this. I don't see the harm in putting the actual name of the Che on the menu, even if it's just in the description of them. We would rank them: 1) Che 3 mau 2)che Thai 3) Che suong sao hot e. The cup is too small for even mix them without it spilling over the edge. The tiny spoon is also useless for eating it as it did not pick up anything... Given that this is a flight, I feel like it should represent the best Che they offer, but they all fell short. The best place for Che and Waffles. I had this place book marked for a while but never got around to trying it until recently. I got the Sunset with less sugar and side ice. I really like that they let you customize the sweetness and ice level as i feel like other che places always puts too much ice. The toppings all have really good texture and feels like higher quality when compared to places like bambu After trying it, I couldn't stop thinking about it the rest of the week and had to come back to get more!
