Kasama Cà Phê is an incredible addition to the local coffee scene. I stopped by for an iced Calamansi drink, and it was one of the best I've had. The coffee was bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced. As an ICU doc, I don't get much time off but when I do, you'll see me here. The shop itself has a clean, modern aesthetic with a relaxing atmosphere, and I need that peacefulness at times. The staff was welcoming, and everything felt thoughtfully done, from the presentation to the flavors. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese + Filipino coffee or just a great local café, Kasama Cà Phê is absolutely worth a visit. I invited my friend to try Kasama Cà Phê with me on a Monday morning around 10am. My friend got a kick out of the short plastic chairs and tables. He had just come from Vietnam where it was common to see this type of furniture at restaurants, so it was like a nod to his own experience. I saw that they had a small display of pastries, but I did appreciate that their focus was really on the coffee. If I remember correctly, they had 3-4 specialty drinks. My friend got an iced Pandan Muối Latte, and I got an iced Davao Mocha. The Pandan Muối Latte had a salted cream over a balanced pandan espresso drink. Went to Kasama Cà Phê on a weekday hoping to avoid the lines, but we still ended up waiting around 20 minutes. Honestly, it was understandable since it looked like there were only about a few workers doing everything. We got the Pandan Muối Latte and the Cà Phê Sữa Đá. The pandan cream on the latte was sooo good and paired really well with the coffee. The Cà Phê Sữa Đá, though, was pretty sour and just wasn't for us. Maybe we're a little biased because we literally just got back from Vietnam and were spoiled with how good the coffee is there, but this one just didn't hit the same. Came through because it's a Filipino/Vietnamese fusion coffee shop. Still was a soft opening so they are working out "the kinks". Line was out the door and maybe 5 people deep beyond that. We came in around 2pm on a Saturday. Took about 23 minutes from start of line to getting out drinks. Ordered the "Pandan Muoi latte" and "kalamansi summer spritz". Pandan Muoi latte definitely was more cream forward with nice notes of coconut/Pandan sweetener, the presentation is very nice with a sprinkle of Pandan over the top, Kalamansi summer spritz, was the highlight of our trip. It was different. Kalamansi (think of a tangerine and a lime had a baby) limeade, so sugar and sweet plus espresso. This shouldn't work but it does. I kept drinking it and kept saying that. Went with my mini me to check this place out. Parking can be challenging. There is a garage connected to the cafe but you have to pay to park. And there's only about 20 stalls. Street parking is a hit or miss. If all else fails, park at Whole Foods across the street. It was busy when we arrived but they are quick. All the seating was taken but if you want to hang out, there are small stools available, outside and inside. The decor is a nice and the lighting is mellow. A pleasant atmosphere. The iced pandan latte was delicious. It had a nutty taste to it also. This is the best pandan latte I've had. It even beats the one I had in the Philippines. Make a visit and see for yourself! As many in the bay, I've been seeing videos of this place all over online! Hearing that a Filipino + Vietnamese spot opened up in my area, I had to make a trip to stop by and support. I grabbed a matcha son la, pate choud, and calamansi butter mochi. The matcha was good, with oatmilk for no extra charge! They didn't ask and I should have mentioned, but it wasn't sweetened. As someone who needs a bit of sugar in their drinks, I know it would've hit 10x more a bit sweeter. The pate choud was great! Very flavorful and Venice and flaky on the outside. The calamansi mochi bitter however, was a bit disappointing. The flavor was good, but the texture was too sticky and not enough structure. LOVEEEEEE this place! I was super excited to see it was finally soft opening and had to come try. I've come a few times and always get the pandan muoi latte. Flavor is rich and not too sweet, and they use nugget ice which doesn't water down your drink when it melts (details details!!). The pandan cream top is delicious. My mom isn't a big coffee drinker, and she even liked it and asked when I'll be going back to bring one for her next time (bonus points lol). Calamansi is small tart like citrusy fruit. It's basically like a small lime/lemon. It's often used in cooking like when my mom would make bistek or drinks like calamansi juice. Kalamansi Summer Spritz This was so unique! I never had drink like this! The best way I can describe it is like Italian Soda with calamansi flavoring and shot of expresso. I never knew these two things go together. The tart like citrusy flavor with shot of expresso was nice surprise. It reminded me of one of those chocolate orange candies with a hit of coffee. I tried the da vao mocha and my friend got the pandan muoi latte. They have fixed sugar so I was a little bit worried since I usually like getting 30% sugar. I like how their drinks aren't too sweet and how subtle the pandan taste was for the muoi latte. If you like getting around the same sugar level as me you'll definitely enjoy this! Tucked away in an unassuming strip, Kasama Ca Phe serves Vietnamese coffee drinks in a familiar and welcoming setting. I came here on a Tuesday morning around 9 AM to get my coffee fix, and a line was already forming! Kasama is located across the street from downtown Whole Foods, right next to CycleBar. In terms of parking, there is street parking available, but they also have a lot dedicated to the businesses in the plaza. This space feels very work-from-home friendly, with around 4-5 tables for studying or working, one giant communal table in the middle, and Vietnamese-style seating on the right side, featuring tables paired with red stools similar to the ones you would see on the streets of Vietnam. By the way, I'm not sure if they have Wi-Fi, so if someone knows, please let me know! At the moment, it looks like they only offer three signature drinks in addition to your typical café selections. I do want to note that they are still in their soft-opening phase, so the menu may expand later on. As for food, I only saw pâté chaud being offered (I would describe it as a Vietnamese empanada filled with either pork or chicken, along with wood ear mushrooms and usually jicama). I decided to order the Pandan Muối Latte (salted pandan) for my friend and an iced Americano with an add-on of pandan cane syrup for myself. They currently offer a choice of whole milk or oat milk for their lattes. I tried the pandan latte, and it was nicely balanced between sweet and salty. The pandan flavor was subtle, while the coffee was smooth and not bitter. As for my Americano, it was bold without being abrasive, and I was happy with the addition of the pandan syrup for a touch of sweetness. Overall, this is a cool new spot in DTSJ (not near San Pedro, by the way). Even though there are a lot of places in San Jose where you can get cà phê sữa đá, it's not as common in this area, so this is an awesome addition to the neighborhood. read more

I tried Pandan Muối and their Paté chaud, which is made by a local baker and delivered here. The drink was perfect to me. The coffee flavor could be stronger, but I'm a caffeine fiend and don't have normal tastebuds, so don't listen to me. Pandan and coconut are some of my favorite flavor combinations, so they really do it right here and know the culture of course. I'm Filipino and as Southeast Asians, we don't always get our limelight. It can be quite the opposite (if you know, you know), so it makes me happy to see a business like this open up. I have been here twice already, and I have to say that it's such a chill spot! Parking is a bit tricky, so plan accordingly (I've only gone during brunch hours on a weekday). Came across Kasama on Instagram two weeks back, was curious about it but didn't see their San Jose location on Apple Maps yet. Was in the area looking to buy coffee beans and noticed that Google Maps did have their location. After picking up the coffee beans, I drove down the street, found some parking, and got in line. The line was out the door on a Sunday afternoon and took a while to move. The menu isn't posted at the door, on the wall, or anywhere else besides right in front of the cashier. Posting the menu in more places could probably help cut down on wait time so those that are indecisive like me could have more time to consider the different options. I felt that the soft opening menu was sparse but the cashier assured me that their menu would be expanding soon. There was really only one thing that stood out to me which was also the first thing on the menu, the pandan muoi latte. One size, strongly recommended at fixed sweetness but can be changed if you feel, sure I'll go with that then. Eric said it tasted better to sip directly from the cup instead of sipping through a straw. I only had a little taste of the pandan foam since I didn't want to stay up late and felt that it was a good amount saltier than I expected, though not in an overpowering way. Such a great new coffee spot by the Alameda (in between Sharks stadium and Whole Foods). The kalamansi summer spritz was SO GOOD, I ended up coming back 2 days in a row. Single origin espresso from Vietnam poured over calamansi limeade spritz.... like it doesn't get more summer than that. I also tried their ca phe sua da- classic and delicious. I also appreciated how welcoming the staff were. Everyone was incredibly friendly and genuinely interested in hearing our feedback, asking what we liked and how they could improve the drinks. You can tell they really care about creating a great experience, especially while they're still in the soft opening phase. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee. It had a nice, strong coffee flavor, but it tasted a little watery for my preference. I would've loved it to be creamier and more condensed-milk-forward while still keeping that bold coffee taste. The café itself has a clean, modern interior and is a nice place to hang out. Since they're still in their soft opening, I know there are things they're continuing to refine, but that's exactly why I'm excited to come back. Stopped to check out Kasama Ca Phe during the soft opening and I'm excited for the future of this spot. The interior was nice and spacious with plenty of seating and the employees were super nice and welcoming. We ordered the Davao mocha and pandan latte. Both were really good and lean towards the Asian philosophy of "not too sweet". I'd come back to try any new lattes that get added to the menu. read more

I'm so glad this pop up now has a brick and mortar! I had Kasama Cà Phê a long time ago when it was a pop up at Milk Belly Bakery in downtown San Jose a long time ago and had the best pandan latte I've ever had. Whenever I tried to return to Milk Belly, the coffee was no longer being served. This location is across from the Whole Foods on Alameda. I came on a Sunday at around noon and they were already sold out of all the pastries they had from Milk Belly bakery. The latte was as good as I remember! I'll definitely be returning. read more

Went for their soft opening and for someone who loves viet coffee and flavors like pandan, I was so excited to come here and try their coffees. I got their iced oat latte (they have oat and whole), with their housemade pandan syrup. Solid latte, can't wait to see what other items they come out with. I usually find it difficult to get a pandan latte but this place does an authentic version! read more
