Their unique, cake-style donuts are incredibly light and fluffy, unlike other donuts you would get at Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. The smaller size lets you try multiple flavors without feeling overwhelmed. And the price is fair. The toppings are really creative and rivel duck donuts. From Java chip to creative combos like maple bacon, there's something for everyone. My personal favorite is the maple bacon, don't knock it till you try it. It tastes like pancakes and bacon. The coffee is good too, could use more selection as well as a shaken espresso type drink. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are surprisingly affordable for such gourmet donuts. Highlights: Cute donut spot that I wouldn't go again. Got there around 9am since we all know, donuts need to be fresh. The staff there wasn't all that friendly but this isn't a restaurant so whatevvee. We got four mini donuts of strawberry cheesecake, coffee chip, lemon bar, and French toast. Not fresh at all. Tasted like a day or two old donuts. All of them. The flavors are okay... not grand enough to cover the staleness. Their coffee was good though. Stronger than dunkin, but less than Starbucks. It's located next to Crust in Alpharetta and has tons of parking. We got the 8-pack donuts. The donuts are mini sized, not regular sized and made to order. I thought it was cool that they made everything in front of you and you could pick the toppings yourself as well. We tried multiple flavors - my favorite is the s'mores and chocolate Oreo. I decided to stop here today on my way to work because I was craving some donuts for breakfast. I had already passed the Krispy Kreme on the corner of Mansell Rd. and Alpharetta Hwy, so I did a quick search on Yelp for donut shops going in the direction I was going in. Because I don't believe in wasting money, I scanned through the reviews to see which donuts to try. I got to Da Vinci's, located a store or two down from Crust ( a pizza joint ), checked in on Yelp!, and redeemed an offer for a free cup or coffee or tea when you purchase a 4-pack of donuts. I walked in and was greeted. There were a few tables with chairs. Nothing too fancy. There was a small table with everything you need for your coffee as well. I immediately went to the display of the donuts. They were slightly smaller than, say, Krispy Kreme donuts, but I was intrigued by the flavors. As I was looking at the donuts, the associate advised that if there was anything I wanted to try on their menu that I didn't see on display there, that she could make it for me. I decided to go with iced chocolate, cinnamon sugar, cinnamon roll, and ( the one I was most interested to try ) maple bacon. The iced chocolate donut was your standard donut with chocolate icing; cinnamon sugar wasn't too sugary, but was very good; cinnamon roll tasted just like a cinnamon roll ( to me at least ); and the maple bacon donut surprised me. I was hoping it didn't taste too weird, but it was actually pretty good. It was my favorite, along with the cinnamon roll, but they were all worth trying. They had a choice of roasted or house blend coffee and I chose house blend, and fixed it to my liking. All in all, I will definitely pay Da Vinci's Donuts another visit in the near future. WOW. 5 stars for sure. I love the concept, the doughnuts, the interior and the service. First, you should know the special thing about Da Vinci's: they'll make your doughnut to order, the way you want it at the counter! Frosting, toppings and drizzles galore! I was most excited for this aspect but we got there and the pre-made concoctions were so tempting I never even got made it to the design-your-own section. Carson served us and he was so helpful and professional. Plus, since it was National Doughnut Day we each got one free! We decided to get 8 doughnuts to TRY and split them each. I think i ended up eating the equivalent of 3 doughnuts before i was full. It was like almost the perfect portion amount. After that we decided we needed to take some home with us. Another 8 each. Sheesh. Worth it! The best part about these is that they are small doughnuts and not overwhelming with thick, ridiculous icing. Davinci's was a delightful surprise for this doughnut-o-holic! What can I say? I have a problem, I'm addicted to doughnuts! So after having lunch at a Mexican restaurant a few miles away, I searched YELP for doughnuts and found Davinci's. When we got there I thought the place was really cute inside. They have an entire wall painted in chalkboard paint where you can leave messages or draw a picture, some kids who came in the same time we did had so much fun drawing on it. They have cute little tables and chairs for sitting while you enjoy your desserts and the overall vibe of the place is just very...sweet. See what I did there? ;) But, when it was time to order, I noticed that Davinci's serves strictly CAKE donuts and my heart kinda sank. I'm not the biggest cake donut fan but I knew my wife who was with me, REALLY doesn't like them so I thought we'd both be disappointed. But we ordered four anyway. We got the French Toast, Oreo cream, Cinnamon roll and the Maple Bacon. Since the bakery was so pretty inside we decided to sit and enjoy our doughnuts. (They also have coffee and cold drinks on sale.) Well, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste. Even though they were "cake" doughnuts, they weren't dry at all. Mmmmm donuts... On a sleepy Sunday morning after a boxing match ( I shall not name this awful fight) that I was forced to watch the night before. They do become a bit denser after they've sat overnight but they still taste good. It would be a good idea to consume your donuts the day of. They also need a bigger togo container for the choice of 4 donuts... I ended up with two containers for 4 donuts but they were still leaning on each other, pretty much mixing the flavors around on each other... Not sure if they still have the small plastic containers, but something where they're sitting flat not leaning or stacked on each other would be great. I side tracked back to donuts... We tried several flavors while we sat around the bakery and talked about work, this is a nice thing for small businesses to do. Sit down and have a donut with your workers... my boss is cool like that. Some of my favorites were the salted caramel, strawberry and cream, and dulce de leche... Donuts make great hangover foods. Actually stumbled across this shop while driving by. Sounded like a fun surprise for my wife on a lazy weekend morning. When you walk in you may be a little intimidated. There is a working counter with three very busy owner/operators running to and fro. There is a tall glass window that separates you from them. The wall behind them is the enormous chalk board that lists all your options. At first your eyes will dart all over the place and you'll wonder what to focus on. Don't worry, it is straight forward. In the window they'll have some of their most popular donuts made. They offer 3 categories. The Vintage are the most traditional and least expensive. The Neo-Classic are their top of the line. I forgot the name of the middle category. I opted for a dozen of the Neo-Classic and let the owner pick for me. Note that she can put together any flavor you want quickly. Yes, the core donuts are pre made and they apply toppings. This did not diminish anything for me as they were still warm and crispy when I dove into them at home. The donut itself: the base looks like a classic cake donut, but I felt the texture was much lighter than that. It actually reminded me of the churros I had in Barcelona a few weeks ago. It was warm, slightly crispy on the outside, yet very soft, malleable and not too sweet like a nice European pastry. The size is nice as well. It's perfect to experience the taste and flavors of the ingredients. That way you can try more. Kids will love this! On the toppings, she gave me Salted Caramel, Maple Bacon, Toasted Coconut, French Toast, Strawberries & Cream, Creamsicle, Cookies & Cream, Cinnamon Roll, and Tiramisu. OMG! So far, the Maple Bacon has a not so small amount of bacon on it. Combine that with the maple sweetness and the warm gooie texture of the donut, and you have a comforting breakfast in a few bites. The Salted Caramel was well thought out. It has a good ratio of rustic salt crystals to the caramel sweetness. I can't wait to try the rest. The demographic for this location can be almost anyone.
