Love this AYCE shabu shabu spot. I've never had to wait beyond 5-10 minutes at most (maybe I went during non busy times). Meat quality is good, love all the sauces, service is great (meat comes out quick and they are on top of checking in on you). I love that kids can enjoy the selection. You also get to end your meal with Korean shaved ice with topping. Good price. Good food. Clean and good service. Good for family (elementary age kids). How I've missed this place during the Covid years. Trust me this place is legit. The food is really fresh, the seasoning choices plenty and even the hot food items are really good. Esp the Korean fried chicken and fried shrimp. I really like the lamb and pork belly meats but you pretty much can't go wrong here. PRICE: so the price is a bit steep especially since Friday lunch is considered weekend pricing. However there's such a large selection of food that you could get your money back with it. SERVICE: They have really great service! There were numerous waiters that would constantly walk around to make sure all needs were met. FOOD: With the actual food, they offered a basic basic soup base and then several sections where you could help yourself to the options. At the table, you had a list of 5 meats to buy from. When you go to the buffet area, there's a sauce section and another section for add-ins to the soup. While making your own broth seems like a cool idea, I personally wasn't a fan of it because I wanted to have a broth that already had flavor. When you walk over to the other sections, there's a lot of side dishes including Korean fried chicken (definitely try this), japchae, etc. To end it off, they even have a Korean shaved ice section which was delicious. Was very pleased with my AYCE experience here. The service and staff were great. There's a pretty big variety of things to select. Yes, if you're used to places like Haidilao - it's definitely not on par, but you pay for what you get! For the price and what they offered, I think it was well worth it! :) Loved all the meats offered, seafood, veggies, noodles..it has all your basics. My friend and her boyfriend were traveling in from Seattle and wanted to sit down and eat at a place they most likely can't get in Washington. We've had hot pot together before, but were OC and wanted to try something nearby. We ended up choosing this restaurant and when we arrived there was no wait, mind you, this was also a Tuesday night, not sure how the weekends are. Everyone was very friendly and courteous which I personally really appreciated, there were consistent check ins with our table. As for the food, I personally thought it was great! I know a lot of people may be saying that they didn't like how there was no broth choice, but there is a seasoning bar so you can customize your broth that way. I like that a lot better, and appreciate how I am able to adjust the taste of my broth. Lots of great topping choices including some stuff I've never had at other Shabu restaurants. A new type of shabu restaurant. The idea that you can just go and get most of the things you want without have to wait is just awesome. First off, when you get to the table you will order alcoholic drinks and four different types of meat with the server. There are five different types that include fish, chicken, and types of pork. The rest of the stuff you get on your own at the buffet. There is a pretty extensive selection of food that you can put in your hot pot or eat on its own. I was a big fan of the glazed chicken wings, spicy rice cakes, sesame balls, and japchae. You can grab some shrimp, crab, crawfish, basically everything you can think of that belongs in a hot pot. It didn't feel necessary to tip the staff the entire 15 percent since we did most of the work ourselves, but I did. There is a convenient call button to bring someone to your table right away if you need more meat. The price is great to me considering all you get. Starting at 21 bucks for lunch and a little more for dinner. My only gripe about this place is that they give you a basic seafood broth to start out with. It basically tastes like it came out of a can. It is up to you to add seasoning and flavoring to the broth. I am no expert with developing broth or soups so to me, I could have cooked the food in hot water and it would have tasted the same. It would have been nice if they had different pre-made seasoned broths that you could pick from. Other than that, I would venture to this place again. I love buffets! read more

The hot buffet consists of so many good eats- we had crispy shrimp, korean fried chicken, fried rice, japchae, and short ribs. Then we had the entire buffet of options for shabu shabu, tons of veggies, fish cake, seafood, dumplings, soo many choices. The meat for the shabu shabu is delicious and they have both lean and fatty options you can pick from! My family brought me here for Mother's Day. I sister was able to get us a reservation for 5 adults and 3 kids. We were seated promptly and our servers checked on us periodically. It was crowded on Sunday but to be expected since it was mother's day. We had a 2 hour limit but I never felt pressured. 2 hours is honestly a really long time to enjoy and eat shabu shabu. My cousin was really excited about the large glass noodles. I guess those are hard to find at restaurants. The soft serve ice cream at the end was a hit for the kids. Everything was delicious. I preferred the fatty meats over the lean meats, but I think that's a personal preference. We tried the lamb just to try it, but I didn't like the texture. I might have overcooked it so I recommend watching the lamb closely if you end up getting it. Overall, it was a great experience and would love to go back! read more

For the price it's great! Lots of veggies and decent quality meat. What sets it apart from regular shabu is the banchan (korean side dishes) you can grab before the water is boiling in case you're that hungry. There are lots of choices to choose from, and I think the only thing lacking as seafood, so I'd say for the price it's very good. They were able to accommodate big groups too, just sitting at a very long table. The night we went was a bit chaotic, but that was expected in a buffet style restaurant with people everywhere. The floor was slippery that night which added to the chaos. I'm not sure if this is a restaurant you want to bring your baby to... I've been to Dada Shabu Shabu two times and unfortunately I found these experiences to be inconsistent. The first time, I appreciated the cleanliness of the location and that they provided gloves for the buffet section to prevent food contamination. The meat was alright, but nothing special and the pork was extremely tough. There was a decent selection in terms of seafood, vegetables, and noodles, but the broths we tried (spicy miso and Mala in a split pot) were mediocre. I decided to visit Dada again to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant seemed very busy and crowded, and it was extremely difficult to navigate the buffet section. Gloves were no longer provided, and the buffet area seemed messy. The amount of people was overwhelming and it was almost impossible to not bump into another patron or a waiter while walking in the buffet and to and from our seats. During this second visit, we had issues with the meat again. I am not sure if we were given the wrong meats, but we ordered the same meat (#3) several times and it tasted different each time. Most of the meats were quite tough, and things we ordered didn't come out so it was confusing when our party was trying to decide if we should order more or not. The buffet food was nothing special, and we took 1 bite of everything and didn't want to eat anymore. The highlight of both visits was the shaved ice section. It's a simple dessert, and you can't go wrong with shaved ice plus some fruits and condensed milk. For about $40 after tip, I don't think my experiences at Dada Shabu Shabu were worth it because I left feeling unsatisfied both times. It's nice to experience once, but there's a lot of other delicious shabu places to try! read more

We've been here a bunch of times and have yet to be disappointed. They have really good buffet items like short rib, patties for dinner, sweet-and-sour, shrimp and chicken, and have all the veggies, noodles, sauce additives, and seafood you could want. Plus, they have a shaved ice bar and fountain drinks, and the quality of the beef for the shabu shabu is really good. The wait staff is plentiful and helpful, and always friendly. My only comment would be I wish they had different broths to choose from, maybe with a little more spice, but otherwise, it's always a great time. read more

We couldn't keep up with the number of times they came to ask if we wanted more meat. Every time we ordered more meat, it came out within 5 minutes. The meat was fresh and sliced perfectly. The self serve area was always kept stocked and the vegetables were fresh. I also can't say enough about the prepared food. The chicken wings were fresh, crispy and hot. So good!! This is one of the best AYCE Shabu places I've ever been to. LOVE that they have just regular food options like Ddukbokki too. We came on a Thursday evening around prime dinner time and it wasn't too crowded. The wait was about 20 minutes. We were seated on one of the booths, but it ended up being a bit annoying because everytime one of us wanted to get up, everyone had to get out of their seats :( The meats were all pretty good and they have a lot of different options of things you can put in when you go up to the bar. The mushrooms are seriously the best. They also have ramen noodles if you want to add those in. Seriously though, I wanted to try everything but couldn't because there was so much. As for dessert, I do wish they had softserve icecream but the shaved ice station is still impressive and very cute. The whole experience is definitely worth the price point :-) read more

Good shabu place! There's a wide variety of items for you hotpot. My party of two was allowed two plates of meat at a time. The broth comes plain, but there's a bar where you can customize it, along with a selection of veggies and seafood. However, the bar does get crowded since it gets a little cramped, and the tables felt pretty tight. One of my favorite parts was the shave ice machine with a variety of toppings. I highly recommend joining the virtual waitlist on yelp because even after yelp sent me a message informing me I was next, I still waited 30 minutes. read more

There was a entire row of fish balls and tofu, an entire roll of sauces, another for some pretty good cooked Korean food, but most importantly, there was an ENTIRE row of seafood from shrimp, crab, clams, mussels and even octopus. If I had some cream and potatoes I would make a great clam chowder at the table! Oh yeah, one row of veggies if for some weird reason you thing that stuff has any place in AYCE establishment. The wait was not bad when we arrive at 12:45 on a Friday afternoon. halfway through our meal the place was about 1/2 empty already. If you want little bit of everything, this is a place to go. Korean buffet also includes shaved ice station! Staffs are very attentive. It gets little loud but staffs cleans the buffet station frequently. They also take waiting list so I recommend putting your name on the list prior to your visit. For a Wednesday night dinner I would say it's a little on the pricier side at $33 per person but the meat was quality meat and they had a large selection of add ons. We also appreciated that each pot had 3 dividers so that made it easy to share or cook and eat our own. Overall we really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant and it wasn't too crowded which we also appreciated. Unfortunately, my recent experience has caused me to change my mind about ever visiting this store again. This 1-star review is just for their hostess - Aileen. I have never met a ruder, more stuck-up, and snooty hostess on my entire life. We came in a group to celebrate my mother's birthday I had called around 5 to see if there was an available reservation, and the only available one was around 7:30. For the entirety of our conversation, Aileen was condescending and rude. She spoke in a very belittling tone. As she told me there wouldn't be an availability for the time slot I was looking for, I took a moment to think about my options. When it was quiet for a few seconds, she screeched HELLO? into the phone call. I think it's natural to assume I was thinking but if it wasn't there's much more polite ways to regain the other person's attention than by raising her voice. I decided it was best to just make the reservation and come earlier as a walk-in party. I asked my aunt, who had arrived there earlier, to sign-in for us. My aunt is one of the kindest and sweetest woman I've ever had the fortune of meeting. I was so angry when I found out that Aileen was also very rude to my aunt. My cousin said she saw her mother being treated like a child and being ignored in a dismissive tone. When I had also arrived there myself, Aileen was also really rude to us again. My mother is a typical Asian mother -- she wants to best accomodate everyone as best as possible. She has some walking issues and she asked if we could get these two tables nearby the door. Aileen was again, very condescending and spoke to my mother if she was a child. It was a question, there was no need for the hostile tone in her voice. Lastly, we had to come back to obtain something we had left behind. Our brief conversation together really Aileen's lack of professionalism and manners. The way she spoke implied she was going to ask a staff member if they had seen the item but then switched to saying I should just walk and obtain it myself. She was so unprofessional and again, spoke in this belittling and rude manner. Save for the hostess, I found the rest of the staff to be helpful in servicing my party. However, as a whole team I believe you're only as strong as your weakest link and our experience reflects that. I highly urge the managers at Dada to reconsider your employment of Aileen or at minimum a retraining for her and her lack of professional demeanor. She lacks an idea of how to speak to customers and behave with professional decorum. We will no longer be visiting and will take our business elsewhere. read more
