Tired, cold, half-cooked potatoes rounded out a substandard dish. The pancakes I tried were burned (black) on one side, and when I asked for another stack they brought me pancakes that were still liquid in the middle. If there is a happy medium, the cook couldn't find it. With better options in Brunswick, I won't be back.

They have "syrup" and it reminded me of being a kid and having Log Cabin syrup. I didn't ask, but it didn't taste like pure maple syrup. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet with a grilled english muffin. It was perfectly cooked and it was delicious. It tasted like canned corned beef hash and I was not mad about it. I truly wanted comfort food and this hit. My friend had the S.O.S. (gravy with beef and pork) AKA Sh*t on a Shingle. It looked soooo good and she stated the biscuit and gravy and meat were good. We took our leftovers home, which will tell you, the portions were decent, the food was delicious and no delicious food would be left behind. Their breakfast menu is simple and straight forward while also having enough that everyone should easily find something. Also the food took no time at all to arrive. But wow, the food was amazing. Medium eggs cooked to perfection, their palace potatoes are fried and crispy but creamy on the inside - I personally loved it with ketchup, and the flapjacks were like a Dutch griddle cake - moist with butter just dripping off. The maple syrup added the most delicate sweetness - don't think I've had a syrup like it. The bacon could be a tad bit crispier but that's just my preference - still was yummy. Hubby and I shared the lumberjack meal, bottomless coffee and an OJ, and it was well worth it & perfect to share (they do have a sharing fee $3/plate). The owner comes out and greeted us out in the parking lot? not the way a used car salesman does when they want to make a sale, but an honest love for people. I believe his name was Frankie but bad with names on low sleep while camping in the most remote woods in new England. In addition to Frankie, his co workers were seemingly just as high spirited and nice. Like i said not the cheap smiles and fake crap, this was different. We spoke in friendly conversations though-out our time there. This was a reminder that i desperately needed, humanity still exist. they were honestly some of the nicest people i have spoken too in an embarrassing long time. * The second best part was the burger! they served up in a timely manner and was hands down the best to date! I was annoying myself out loud saying damn this is good, grunting like a caveman and how i didn't want it to end!!! Haha no joke it was amazing! massive, fresh and well cooked. The ribeye was ordered medium rare and served the same. It was a decent and fairly good size piece of meat. Scrambled eggs are difficult to mess up and were fine along with some toast and home fries. The service was good and it is a place to which I would definitely return. When it was Beans restaurant 50 years ago they were famous for serving popovers, which now they serve on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I may have to come back and try one again
